Questions and Answers for 2014 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch: FPMD14-RR
My daughter is 13 years old, 5'6" and 135 pounds. Would a 33" 20 oz. be too much bat for her? I was thinking of buying her a 32", but at only 20 ounces maybe 33" is better?
Based on her height and weight we recommend a 33" 20 oz. 2014 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch (FPMD14-RR).
My daughter is a high school junior on the JV team. Her current TPX Mendoza composite bat is 3 years old and she needs a new one. Is this bat suitable for HS team softball players?
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch (FPMD14-RR) is certified for play in USSSA. The -13 size will be pretty light for a high school player. I typically see more of an average -10 sizing at the high school level.
My daughter is 49 inches tall. She is 6 years old and is obviously growing like a weed. What size do you recommend? She weighs 53 pounds.
Based on her height and weight, we recommend a 28" model in the 2014 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch (FPMD14-RR).
My daughter has this bat in a 30" 17 oz. She has only had it for 6 months but has had a growth spurt. We love the bat and need to get a longer one. She is just shy of 5' tall. Should I get the 31" or the 32"? I don't want her outgrowing yet another bat so quickly.
We recommend the 2013 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch: FPMD14-RR in a 31", based on her current size. However, if she were to grow 2-3" or more in the next year, we'd recommend moving up to a 32". If she does not struggle with bat speed with her 30" 17 oz. model, I'd recommend making the move to a 32".
Is this bat too light to help my daughter hit for power?
Depending on her age it is a possibility that the 2013 Louisville Slugger Mendoza Fastpitch: FPMD14-RR could hinder her power. But the balance and light swing feel of this model is a definite plus.
