Description

The RIP-IT Prototype Series BBCOR is back for round 3 and ready to give players that classic RIP-IT BBCOR feel! The last 2 models have been some of the most highly talked about BBCOR bats to ever hit the field, and B1403 will surely have the same impact. This one-piece design is made from RIP-IT's original R1 Alloy that provides great durability and consistently high performance. R1 Alloy also gives this bat a power balanced feel for players who prefer a slight end-load. The barrel of the RIP-IT BBCOR features their Acoustic Barrel design, that channels and amplifies specific performance frequencies created when a ball makes contact with an alloy bat. The end result is an almost harmonic "ping" sound when good contact is made, and will sound like music to your ears. The handle is wrapped with RIP-IT's Contact Grip that provides incredible vibration elimination and extreme durability to help you perform at your best. RIP-IT is so confident you'll love this bat that they're offering a 30 Day Love It or Return It performance guarantee. If you don't like the bat, simply send it back to RIP-IT within 30 days for a full refund. You have nothing to lose. RIP-IT: Speed Matters! The RIP-IT Prototype is BBCOR Certified and legal for high school and college play. It is backed by a Full 400 Day Manufacturer's Warranty With Unlimited Replacements. Free Shipping!

Slugging Pitcher

Pros: Used the demo/prototype. Fantasitc bat! Heavy end for guys who want to hit homeruns. Great grip at the hands. One of the best bbcor bats i have ever swung. I think the sweet spot is enlarged in the barrel because almost every at bat i had i hit the ball solid even when i didnt make perfect contact. I recommend to all getting it! dont look at another bat. Get this one!

Cons: Handle gets dirty quick.

Rip-it prototype- solid bat at a solid price Mike H. player

Pros: This bat has great pop for not being a $300-$400 bat. When I needed to get the most bang for my parents money, theis bat made all the sense in the world. I am lacing the ball over the field and have the piece of mind with that industry leading 400 day unlimited bat warranty.

High School Baller's Dad Mark S. parent

Pros: Bought this bat for my son last year after much reading of positive feedback on various websites concerning this bat. It didn't take long before this bat was on everyones radar. The pop is crisp and distinct, no vibration or shock and large sweet spot is what i'm hearing from the kids. Now 4 of the 9 starters are using this bat and are hitting better that ever before. I definetly feel like this bat is a game changer..so, I just ordered another one. just in case...:)

Over-all Amazing Value! Wyatt player

Pros: For the money this bat has amazing pop and a really beautiful sound! I've hit well with this bat and noticed a general increase in power in balls that wern't extremely well hit. I've had it about 2 weeks and have a few hundred swings on it with no real chiping in the paint. All in all a great bat though and you can't beat it's price or just bats shipping and customer service!

Cons: It does have a fair amount of vibration and on heavy BP days my hands were cramping towards the end. The end of the handel does have a fairly drastic taper that makes it almost to big for my hands, which are by no means small. (6' 210 lbs)

Brandon
Is this the AIR model? And do you think the 2013 AIR model is better? johnny baseball
This 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR: (B1403) Adult bat is not the RIP-IT BBCOR AIR model. The product code for that bat is (B1403A). This Prototype BBCOR utilizes the same R1 Alloy that the 2013 Prototype AIR is made from, but the AIR is more balanced with its Rifle Barrel Technology. The (B1403) has a slightly end loaded swing weight. Deciding which bat is better really comes down to the kind of swing weight the player prefers.

The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) Adult will be more end loaded, whereas the 2014 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR (B1403A) Adult will be more balanced for a contact hitter. If you are both I would go with the RIP-IT AIR.
Damon
Which has a bigger sweet spot this or the Voodoo Paradox? brinbaseball
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR (DXVDC) will have similarly sized sweet spots with the Voodoo having a slightly longer barrel size.
Patrick
Compared to the 2013 model, which has more pop? Also which has more pop, the Voodoo Paradox or the Easton Rival? jake
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) will feature the same R1 alloy as the 2013 model. The BBCOR AIR will have RIP-IT's new R2 alloy for even better performance. The Voodoo Paradox features higher quality products in both the barrel and handle, giving it an advantage over the old Rival.

The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) will have better performance and durability compared to a BBCOR wood model. I would go ahead and pick up a 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR.
Brandon
Is this an Aluminum bat? I've had some bad experiences with composite bats. jake
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) is a one-piece fully alloy bat.
Tessa L.
What size would you recommend for me I'm 14 and 5'9 130 pounds Landon
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403).
Tessa L.
This bat is described as having an end-loaded feel to it. My son currently swings a 32"/29oz 5150, which is a very balanced bat. Should he move down to the 31" in this RIP-IT model since it has an end-loaded feel to it or stay with the 32" ? JJ
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype (B1403) is only slightly end loaded so he should be fine staying with a 32"/29 oz.
Bobby
Is this bat USSSA certified? Olin
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) is BBCOR certified and will not feature a USSSA BPF 1.15 certification mark. The BBCOR certification is more restrictive than the USSSA certification, but no BBCOR bats with -3 length to weight ratios will also carry the USSSA stamp. However, many USSSA divisions will allow the use of a BBCOR bat. Concerning bat legality, it is always best to check with a league director or coach.
Mac
I am 6'1" and 125 lbs. I am considering buying this bat. Since its end loaded should I consider a 31 inch bat? i currently use a 32"/29. brett speakman
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype (B1403) is only slightly end loaded so you should be fine sticking with a 32"/29 oz
Bobby
Does the bat require a break-in period? blake
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) has a one-piece alloy design and does not require a break-in.
Jason
What's the difference between this bat and the Prototype 2? Which is more end loaded and better for power hitter? C
Aside from an upgrade in the alloy material, this 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) will feature the same slightly end loaded swing weight as the (PROB2). Both bats would be great choices for a power hitter who likes a heavier bat and stiff flex.
Mac
Im 5 foot 11 and weigh 150 pounds. What size bat should I get? jakiepoo
Based on your height and weight we would suggest a 32 inch length of the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403).
Patrick
Is this a good bat if you are a contact hitter? Also, is it top heavy? mikey
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR: (B1403) is an excellent bat if you are a power hitter. It will be a little bit stiffer, and will be slightly end-loaded. Therefore, if you are more of a contact hitter, I would probably suggest looking for a two-piece balanced model, such as 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: (DXCFC).
Merritt
How would the 30 day guaranteed satisfaction work with Justbats.com's bat packs? How much money would you get back? Frankenstizzle
If that situation were to occur, you would get the value of the bat as it is priced in the pack refunded if you do not love the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) within the 30 day period.
Patrick
What size would you recommend for a 14 year old that is 5'8 and 135 pounds? mel
Based on your height and weight, I would advise purchasing the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR (B1403) in the 33" 30oz size.
Sean
I like using the XL series from Easton. Is this a good bat if I like the XL series? djboomer57
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) is very similar to the Easton XL3. The XL3 and Prototype are both one-piece alloy bats with end loaded swing weights. The Prototype is a good bat transition to from the Easton XL series.
Jason
How much pop does this bat have? Baseball king
"Pop" is more of a term used to describe a player's hitting ability rather than a quantifiable term about a bat's performance. The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) is BBCOR certified so it's peak performance or "pop" would be similar to other BBCOR models.
Patrick
What size would you recommend for a 13 year old that is 5 foot 9" and weighs 152 pounds? brock
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 32 inch size of the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403).
Patrick
What is the difference between the Rip It Air and the Rip It Prototype? Mando Bball
The major difference between the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) and the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A) is that the AIR would be more balanced while the Prototype is more end-loaded.
Patrick
My son is 11 and will soon be 12, he is 5'7" 118 lbs , with 35 mph swing speed(bat speed). He swing a 32" Easton hard maple -3 since 10. Will this bat be the best for him or should he use the Rip-IT Air? megatrons dad
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 32" 2014 RIP-IT Prototype (B1403) for a player with your sons height and weight.
Sean
What is the difference between this bat and the 2013 Rip-It Prototype? b
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features a more end-loaded feel than on the RIP-IT Prototype AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1303A) which would be balanced.
Patrick
What is the difference between this bat and the Rip It Prototype 2? matteo
The RIP-IT Prototype II BBCOR Baseball Bat (PROB2) and the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) differ in that they are made from different alloys with the 2014 model being a bit more advanced and durable. Also, the 2014 Prototype is more end-loaded while the Prototype II is balanced.
Patrick
Is this bat legal for Juniors (14-16) in Little League? Mike
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features the BBCOR certification stamp and is legal for the Juniors Division in Little League.
Jason
What's this bat like versus the 2014 Rawlings 5150? Looking at swing speed, balance, and performance? What about the 2014 Vexxum? nb
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will feature a one-piece fully alloy design. The 2014 Rawlings 5150 will feature the same exact design. Their balance and performance will be very similar. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR will be different with its two-piece half and half design. The handle will be composite, while the barrel is alloy. It will feel much lighter compared to the 5150 or Prototype BBCOR.
Brandon
Is that bat made in the USA? SGT Slacker
Yes, the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball (B1403) is made in the USA.
John
My son 12 year old son has been using an Easton -5 Omen. We are changing to BBCOR. Is this bat in anyway similar, or is there a bat you can recommend as a good transition from the Easton -5 Omen to BBCOR? Trey
The Easton XL1 is the model that replaced the Omen of years past. It features the same end loaded swing weight as well as the two-piece, fully composite design. The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features the same end loaded swing weight of the Omen as well as the XL1, however a major difference is that the Prototype features a one-piece fully alloy design. The Prototype will be good to go right out of the wrapper, whereas the Omen and the XL1 both require a break in period before they will perform at their peak.
Tessa
Would this be a good bat for me? I bat in between power and contact. I am 13 years old and I am 5 foot 9 and weigh 180 pounds. What bat would you recommend? justin flores
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) would be a good choice if you like a more end-loaded feel. Usually, power hitters are the ones that will enjoy an end-loaded style. If you would prefer a more balanced design that will make the bat feel lighter, I would suggest the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403A).
Patrick
Does this kind of have the feel of the Combat B4? justin flores
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will not have the same swing feel as the COMBAT B4.
Brandon
My 16 year old son, who is playing HS varsity, used the Louisville Slugger 2013 EXOGRID 3. How would this bat compare? JD
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) is a pretty comparable design to the EXOGRID 3 BBCOR bat. The Prototype has a slightly end loaded swing weight, but it lacks the composite inserts in its handle like the EXOGRID features. I think this would be a good model if he was comfortable with the EXOGRID, and RIP-IT actually provides a 30 Day Love It or Return It Program, so you could have him try the bat out.

What is the better bang for my buck between the 2014 Rip It Prototype and the Rawlings 5150? nick
Both the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) and the 2014 Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB513) are nice options that are high performing alloy bats. If you like a more end-loaded feel I would go with the Prototype and if you like a balanced feel I would go with the 5150.
Patrick
How is this model different from the marucci cat 5 model? Specifically in feel an pop? charlie
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) and the Marucci CAT 5 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCB2) are both one-piece alloy with vibration eliminating features. The B1403 is end-loaded, while the MCB2 is well-balanced. The MCB2 has a longer barrel for a bigger sweetspot and more control, however both bats are going to be very similar in regards to performance.

My son currently swings a RIP-IT 32/22 and has great results. However, our coach has told him as an 8th grader it is time to transition to a -3 to get ready for high school. He is 5'8" and about 110 lbs. The bat coach is recommending a 31/28. Is this RIP-IT a good choice for him? Is it normal to go down in length? Baseball dad
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) has a slightly end loaded swing weight and is typically not the best option for a player moving into BBCOR for the first time. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) has a balanced swing weight and is typically a better option for a player that is just going into BBCOR. It is common for players to drop down an inch in length when they transition into a BBCOR bat. The weight he will be moving up to will be quite an adjustment, so the smaller size will make it easier.
Jason
Which bat is more end loaded, the 2012 Rip-It Prototype II BBCOR: PROB2 or the 2014 Rip-It Prototype BBCOR: B1403? How much more end loaded is the 2014 Prototype BBCOR: B1403 than the 2014 Rip-It Air BBCOR: B1403A? Pigbodies
Despite both bats being made from a single piece of alloy, the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will be more end loaded than the the 2012 Rip-It Prototype II BBCOR (PROB2). In regard to your second question, it is often hard to exactly measure end load in amounts. However, the 2014 Rip-It Air BBCOR (B1403A) will be a very balanced bat. The 2014 Rip-It Prototype will be more end loaded than the Rip-It Air, but not by an extreme amount.
Ben
Does the 2014 RIP-IT Prototype have more or less pop than the 2014 Rawlings VELO? I want to drive the ball hard and far this year, and those are my two choices. Robby Rob
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will have very similar pop compared to the Rawlings VELO. The VELO will feel more balanced and help promote faster swing speeds. The Prototype ,ay feel slightly more barrel heavy. Both are full one-piece alloy designs.
Brandon
What are some very balanced bats that you would recommend to a contact hitter? Cody_16
The 2014 RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will not provide you a balanced swing weight. From RIP-IT's offerings, I would recommend looking at the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) as it is a single-piece, alloy baseball bat that provides a balanced swing weight. Another balanced option from RIP-IT would be the 2015 RIP-IT AIR Elite BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503E) that has the hybrid construction (composite handle/alloy barrel), but still a balanced swing weight.
Ben
Does it have the BBCOR sticker on it? Aaron
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) does feature a BBCOR stamp.
Joe
My 17 year old is 5'10" and 180 lbs. Would the one piece Rip-It or the two piece Overlord work best for him? He has slower bat speed right now. JY
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features a one-piece alloy design with a significant end-load. It does also come with a 30 day trial period. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features a two-piece hybrid design with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The two-piece model will help his bat speed by providing additional flex through the zone.
Joe
Does the paint chip ever? How durable is the bat itself? My problem with all the bats I have bought from JustBats.com is durability and it either having lots of scratches, breaking, or paint chipping. Justin
The bats we sell like the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) are sold exactly as they come from the manufacturer and are exactly the same as the models other retailers sell. That being said, durability can vary between different bat models based on the material used for its construction. Given the nature of the game, paint chips are always a possibility and denting or breaking can occur. For that reason, the bats usually come with a warranty for replacement if the bats break. This Protoype model has shown above average durability and has a great warranty if damage does occur.
Patrick
Is this bat as balanced as the Demarini Voodoo? lil Freese
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will feature a single piece full alloy design with an end-loaded swing weight. The DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will feature a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. It will also feature a slightly end-loaded swing weight.
Joe
Will the Prototype or the AIR give me a power advantage? T
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) features a one piece full alloy design with an end loaded swing weight. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) features a one piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight. Typically, we would recommend an end loaded model for a power hitter.
Joe
Does the RIP-IT AIR have a larger sweet spot than the Prototype? Bob
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) and the 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) will both have a similarly sized sweet spot. They both feature a one piece full alloy design, however the Prototype has a much more end loaded swing weight.
Joe
Does this bat help with bat speed? jared baseball
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) is more of an end-loaded design which will not aid in bat speed.
Patrick
Would the Prototype or the S2 be a better choice for an all around hitter? joshua dawson
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) will feature a one piece full alloy design with an end loaded swing weight that is ideal for a power hitter. The Easton S2 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S2) will feature a two piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel with a balanced swing weight. This model would be ideal for a gap or contact hitter.
Joe
I am a 3 spot batter in high school. I am about 5 foot 9 and weigh 135 pounds and have used end-loaded bats before and really like them. What I am wondering is if the 29 ounce will be too heavy? baseball player
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 31 inch BBCOR bat like the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) which would weigh around 28 ounces. You may be able to use a 32 inch 29 ounce but it would be more of an adjustment with that end-loaded feel.
Patrick
Little League approved? hollywood
The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) has a BBCOR stamp, meaning it is not Little League approved. Any bats that are legal for Little League will have a 1.15 BPF stamp.
Allison
I am 6 foot 1 and weigh 250 pounds. I am mostly a power hitter with good bat speed. Would this model or the DeMarini Voodoo DXVDC be better for me? Also, what size bat should I use? tommyboy
Based on height and weight, we would recommend a 33 inch size of either the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) or the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). Both would be a nice option for a power hitter as they are both similarly end-loaded. The difference would be the flex of the bat. If you like a stiffer flex, I would recommend the Prototype. If you like a bit more flex to the bats, I would recommend the Voodoo.
Patrick

The RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) has more an end loaded swing weight compared to the balanced swing weight of the B1303. The 2015 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1503A) has more a balanced swing weight like the past B1303.

My son is 5'7" and 175 lbs. Is a 32/29 too big for him? He has fast bat speed and is a power hitter. drwatts
Based on his height and weight, a 32" 29 oz model in the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) is the suggested size.
Jason
Is this a good bat for an upcoming freshman that is 5'5" and 162 lbs.? Would the Easton S3Z be better? jrod03
Both the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) and the 2015 Easton S3Z BBCOR would be solid options for a freshman baseball player. However, the RIP-IT Prototype is going to have an end loaded feel to it, while the S3Z has a more balanced design. If he's more of a power hitter, the Prototype would work well. If not, I'd lean more toward the Easton S3Z. It's a matter or preference.
Marcus
My son is 5 foot 5 and weighs 125 pounds. Is a 32 inch 29 ounce too big for him? nardy smith
Based on height and weight, we would feel that a 32 inch size of the RIP-IT Prototype BBCOR Baseball Bat (B1403) would be too large for your player. We would recommend a 31 inch size and possibly a more balanced model.
Patrick

My son is 10 years old about 5.0' 110 pounds what size should he get steve
We would recommend that your son swing a 29" bat. As for the weight, I would use his current bat size and bat speed to gauge that. If he has fast bat speed with his current bat weight, I would recommend going up in weight to get more mass in the bat to help generate some power. If his bat speed is slower, then I would recommend maybe dropping some in the bat weight.
