Description

Every year, Easton unveils the latest game changing technology that revolutionizes baseball bats to enhance and compliment player performance. Expect nothing less from Easton this season with the new MAKO TORQ. The MAKO TORQ combines power with a new genius twist: a 360 Torq Handle. This never before seen handle rotates to promote a fully extended swing, with the top palm facing down, and the bottom palm facing up. By allowing the wrists to move freely, the MAKO TORQ technology gets the barrel to the zone faster and keeps it in the zone longer, allowing the hitter to square up for more pitches, more often with explosive power. There is no doubt the MAKO TORQ is way ahead of the competition, providing players with an increasingly important edge to stay on top! Easton added the 360 TORQ handle to their high end MAKO baseball bat. The two-piece, composite design is equipped with the same powerful technologies such as Easton's TCT Thermo Composite Technology and their ConneXion Technology. TCT Thermo Composite is engineered to provide top-notch players two major benefits: unmatched bat speed and a massive sweet spot. ConneXion Technology maximizes energy transfer for an optimized feel. To provide baseball players with a world-class feel, Easton also included their gauze grip to provided added comfort, and durability. There is a reason why champions swing Easton as they never settle for the ordinary! Easton is Sports Engineering! The Easton MAKO TORQ is USSSA Certified and features the 1.15 BPF stamp on the barrel. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping Included!

Know how to use it! Davis parent

Pros: *Bat is really crazy. Ball jumps off this thing. My son is hitting line drives and shots to the outfield with little effort. *Have to know how to use it! First got it, was not hitting well, then batting coach showed him how to use it by keeping hands in and ball flys off it. BIG ADVANTAGE! *Training tool. Some instructors dont want kids using it as it takes away from their teaching and need for them.

Cons: *Expensive and takes few at bats to learn how to use it. But worth the money especially if you take weekly or bi weekly hitting lessons. Mechanics stay the same and this helps. Some learning curve on learning the bat and its a training tool at the same time.

easton torq Brock Harris player

Pros: The bat is great for begginer players, the weight is even, which makes it easy to get the bat level through the zone.

Cons: I personally, play for the Woodlands Wranglers and have one of the best batting coaches in TX batting coach that despises the bat, he says "the handle just makes your wrist roll over more, which takes away a lot of power." I have droped the bat 1 or 2 (it was only a couple inches of the ground) and it chipped everywhere pieces are still fallong if at the end of the barrel and handle, the grip on the 360 part of the handle goes up and the rest of the grip gies down, so the grip may last a month or two through out heavy use

Needs to be broken in Bo player

Pros: Great feel, great balance and a good grip. Very easy control, love the bat.

Cons: The bat is NOT hot out of the wrapper. As stated by Easton, it really does need to be broken in. The 2 5/8 barrel is deafening when first used indoors! You can hear and see that it's need breaking in. After 150 swings it's getting better, but it's still far away from being hot. Still love the bat though!

Mako Torq (31 Inch / Drop 8) Gus player

Pros: Nice grip. Easy to get the swing off - the bat moves fast through the zone. Good distance/pop on solid hits.

Cons: There is a slight vibration with this bat - it could be the cooler weather in the Chicago area that leads to this.

This is one of the greatest bats there is. Zach Schmidt player

Pros: This bat is legendary. First off, the handle's 360-degree rotation is flawless. It isn't too tight, but it isn't too loose. It doesn't need to be oiled, and it does help with how you hold the bat. The barrel of the bat gives the ball more pop, and you seem to hit it farther when you hit it square, and even when you don't, you still hit it a pretty fair way.

Cons: The grip on the handle could be a little bit more durable.

My son will be 13 when fall baseball starts. He is 5 foot 2 and weighs 90 pounds. He currently uses a drop 10 and I want to ease him towards a drop 3. Would you recommend a drop 8, 31 inch 23 ounce bat? Or something else? tbt
A 31 inch 23 ounce -8 bat like the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK8T) would be a great option for starting that transition process. From there, you may want to start working with a -5 bat after a while and work your way up.

I'm 5 feet tall 70 lbs but I need a middle school bat. Azy
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 30" 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T. This 2015 MAKO TORQ features a 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter and a -8 length to weight ratio so it may be used at the middle school level.

I was wondering if I should go with Mako TORQ 2 1/4, 31/21 or Mako TORQ 2 5/8 barrel, 31/23? My son is 5'1" and 85 pounds. Randy
Both sizes you are reviewing would be good options for the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 and the 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T. With that said, the barrel size to consider would be the one allowed in your league. If he can swing the bigger barrel than the 2 5/8" barrel diameter would be the best option.
Cameron
My son is 4'10" and 93 lbs. What would be better, a drop 5 or a drop 8 at 29 or 30 inches? Cap
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend getting the Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T in a 30 inch 22 ounce model. If this player is one year away from high school then it would be best to get a drop 5 as this will make the transition to BBCOR (drop 3) easier.
Cameron
What's the difference between MAKO TORQ vs XL? Son is almost 12, 5'3" and 90 lbs. S Vigil
The Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. This bat will also feature the TORQ 360 degree rotating handle technology. The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ XL Senior League Baseball Bat: SL16MKT8 is going to be the same bat in design and construction minus the swing weight (XL will mean end-loaded; this bat has a smaller sweet spot with more mass meaning you can create greater barrel whip which can translate into more power potentially), color design and grip tape. Both of these bats will feature TCT thermo composite technology.
Cameron

Based on your son's height and weight I would recommend a 33" bat. With that being said we no longer have any of the Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bats (SL15MK8T) in stock. I would instead recommend a 32" 2016 Easton MAKO XL Senior League Baseball Bat (SL16MK5).
Jake
What is the drop? alex
The Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T features a drop 8.
Jason
What is MOI and how does the rotating handle work? April
MOI stands for Moment of Inertia and has to do with the swing weight. The Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat: SL15MK8T features a low MOI for a light swing weight. The rotating handle allows the player to get the barrel of the bat into the zone faster, and leave the barrel in the zone longer by allowing the player's bottom hand to rotate freely as it normally would.
Logan
Is this considered a big barrel bat? Mike
Yes, it has a barrel diameter of 2 5/8". "Big Barrel" can also mean bats with a 2 3/4" diameter, so be sure to check with your league to be sure which is allowed or which one you want to use.
Kyle J.

The Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK8T) is not approved for play in Little League Juniors. It is a two-piece full composite bat. The Junior Division requires any full composite bat to be BBCOR certified.
