Great bat Kevin player

Pros: Very light swing weight. A lot more line drives for me this year. Used the rip-it prototype BBCOR air and this bat is so much better. Nice grip.

Cons: Loses pop kinda quickly. The pop hasn't been the same as it used to be.

Amazing! Lil Mike player

Pros: The graphics look great and the bat is perfectly weighted for those who like a balanced bat for bat speed. Grip is good and feels great in hands. The ball jumps off the bat and you definitely hear that nice ping sound when making contact with the ball. This bat is better than the s1, marucci elite, mako, and voodoos that I have used in the past. Very little to no vibration when hitting the ball near the handle and still got good contact. Best bat out right now.

Cons: None, besides that fact that everyone of my teammates wants to use it.

Great Bat, better than last years model Cameron Mays player

Pros: I used the balanced one last year, I wasn't much on it. Now I have the end loaded one and it feels so balanced when I swing. It comes off the bat so hard, and you don't have to swing that hard for it to go far. It jumps off the bat! The sound is better than last years model, it's not as loud, but you still get that nice ping sound!

Cons: The grip, because I have a tight grip and it comes off quickly.

Great bat Joe player

Pros: Ball jumps off of bat. Little vibration to go along with a very large sweet spot. VERY loud sound and more pop than any other bbcor on the market.

Cons: Cracked it after about 4 1/2 months but Rawlings was very good about warranty.

Wow Cjuorste player

Pros: I've had everything, Demarini, combat, louisville, rip it, and even easton and nothing compares to this bat. Shuts up all the mako and CF series lovers

Cons: Results that causes wanting to continuously hit with the bat, this can cause the bat to lose pop overtime but has yet to happen to me

Not that great Matte player

Pros: Good pop and feel while it lasts

Cons: This bat was a replacement for my broken 2014 trio and this wasn't better. My first trio broke in three day of having this bat right around where the Handel meets the aluminum barrel and the second bat cracked during the first week when I was taking batting practice. I would not recommend this bat to those who are willing to spend lots of money on a bbcor. From the rawlings lineup I would recommend a velo.

2015 Rawlings trio TBOD player

Pros: Bat is great pop and you can really feel the ball jump off this beast of a bat. Previously owned a 2013 Demarini voodoo and this is a great simply made bat

Both the 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) and the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) are nice models. The preference would come down to if you want a more traditional single piece alloy like the Velo or a hybrid design like the Trio. They both have alloy barrels so they will have a similar sound or ping.
Patrick
How is this bat different than the 2014 model? tim
The only difference between the 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR (BBRTTB) is the graphics used on the outside of the bat.

Does Rawlings make a composite barrel bat? donnierufe
Rawlings doesn't offer a fully composite BBCOR bat. The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) utilizes their three-piece hybrid design with a composite endcap, 5150 alloy barrel, and composite handle.
Jake
Is the 2015 trio going to be similar to the S1 in the way it's balanced. andrew
Both the 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) and the 2015 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15S110) will be very well-balanced bats. The biggest difference between the two is that the Trio is a two-piece hybrid featuring an alloy barrel and composite handle, while the S1 is a full-composite two-piece bats. Both will have very balanced swing-weights, however, since the they are made of two different types of materials, there will be a difference when compared to each other.
Joe

The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) is a balanced bat and we do not have a 2015 end loaded version of the Trio.
Tom
does the bat loose its pop fast? Lake Jarimer

Between the 2015 Trio, 2015 Easton MAKO, and the 2015 VELO; which bat would help me increase my bat speed the most? timothe
The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) features a three-piece hybrid design with a composite handle and end cap, and an alloy barrel. Typically, two and three piece models result in faster bat speeds due to the flex generated through the zone. The 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) features a two-piece composite design that does have a longer barrel, which can give it a slight end-loaded feel, depending on the player. The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) features a single piece full alloy design that will be very stiff through the zone. The Trio and the MAKO will both help your bat speed more than the VELO, but between the two, you are looking at a composite bat versus an alloy model in terms of preference.
Joe
Between the Rawlings Trio, Velo, and 5150 which is the most balanced? Are they all pretty similar? Batter
The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) will be pretty balanced. The 5150 will feel similar also. The most balanced will be the VELO model.
Brandon
I am a 9th grader that is 5 foot 10 and I weigh 155 pounds. I play on varsity and I'm the catcher. I could get one out of the high school fields but barely. What bat would be the best for me? For example, the Rawlings Trio or Velo, Easton Mako, etc. jjjjjj
It would be less that there would be one bat that would be ideal for every player who is your height and weight and position and more about finding a bat within what you are wanting to spend with the feel you are looking for. For instance, the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) has a stiff flex and an alloy barrel while the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) has a looser flex and a two-piece composite design. The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) is a hybrid design that has an alloy barrel and a composite handle that would have a flex level between the two. Which one would be best for you would be based on what you are looking for.
Patrick
How does this bat compare to the 2013 Omaha? Ocho
The 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) features a three piece hybrid design with a composite handle and alloy barrel. It additionally features a balanced swing weight, and will have much more flex through the zone than the Omaha. The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha Balanced BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB136) will feature a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight that will be much stiffer through the zone.
Joe

There are going to be advances in the material and cosmetic updates in the 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB).
Frankie
How does the M.O.I. of this bat differ from the 2015 5150 Velo's M.O.I.? Thomas
The 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) will have a bit lower M.O.I. than the 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) for a lower effort needed to swing the bat.
Patrick
Would using the balanced version instead of the end loaded take away any pop? bishy
Using the balanced 2015 Rawlings Trio Baseball Bat BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRTTB) as opposed to and end-loaded will not result in less "pop" so much as you are going to lose bat speed if you are strong enough to handle an heavier end-loaded bat.
Jake

About the Brand

Rawlings is a major manufacturer of competitive team sports equipment and apparel for baseball, basketball, and football, as well as licensed MLB, NFL, and NCAA retail products. Rawlings is a major supplier to professional, collegiate, interscholastic, and amateur organizations worldwide, including the Official Baseball Supplier to Major League Baseball.

The first real innovation in glove making occurred in 1912 when Rawlings Sporting Goods Company introduced the "Sure Catch" glove, which was "endorsed by leading players all over the country." The Sure Catch was a one-piece glove with sewn-in finger channels and looked better suited for a duck's foot than a man's hand. Catchers' mitts used at the time were large and bulky with a single leather thong passing for a web.

In 1920, Bill Doak, a journeyman pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals, approached Rawlings with an idea for improving the baseball glove from a mere protective device to a genuine aid in fielding. The "Bill Doak" model was so revolutionary that it stayed in Rawlings' line until 1953. Its key feature was a multi-thong web laced into the first finger and thumb, which created for the first time in baseball's young life, a natural pocket.

In 1925, Rawlings unveiled a three-fingered fielder's glove, and ten years later improved the Bill Doak model with a two-piece leather web. At the same time, the "T" web became a rage for first basemen's mitts. The pocket underwent a pronounced change in 1941 when the Trapper Mitt, also known as the Claw, appeared. The "Deep Well" pocket was so unique that Rawlings quickly patented it. The design was improved in 1950 by adding a leather piece across the top. Another significant creation occurred in 1948 with the three-fingered Playmaker. A five-fingered fielder's model, with all fingers laced together, provided greater pocket control.

The six-fingered Trap-Eze evolved in the 1960's. In more recent years, Rawlings produced the Fastback design, which gives a glove a snugger fit, greater extension, and overall control. The Holdster is a slot through which a finger can be extended for additional protection from impacts on the pocket. Then, there is the Edge-U-Cated Heel with its extended U-shaped lacing and the Pro H Web and much-copied Basket Web.

Some of Rawlings's more recent glove innovations also include the unique Spin-Stopper design which reduces ball spin when the ball hits the glove, and the Cantilever glove design feature that provides a cushioned area between the hand and the glove's palm area. In all, Rawlings has produced and patented more functionally innovative glove features and designs than that of any other glove manufacturer. The result is that the modern baseball glove is much larger, more comfortable, better padded, and made to last far longer than its ancestors. It is not uncommon to see today's Major League players wearing the same Rawlings glove they wore during their college playing days. In fact, Rawlings is the #1 glove in the major leagues. Rawlings maintains about 65 models of baseball and softball mitts and gloves in its line. The prototypes of virtually all of them have been field-tested by professionals before entering a sporting goods dealer's inventory.
