Description

For 2016, Easton has brought the most expansive line of power and performance to the market with the all-new Power Brigade Series!

TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO TORQ's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. This innovative material comprises both the barrel and handle which are united by Easton's patented 2-PC ConneXion Technology. By isolating the handle from the barrel with the connection joint, energy transfer is maximized while simultaneously eliminating any unwanted vibration. The MAKO TORQ's foundation is then optimized with one of the lightest swing weights on the market. Sounds like exactly what every ballplayer is searching for, right? Well, the team at Easton has taken this design to a whole new level with the inclusion of the TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology. Last season, the TORQ Handle surpassed all expectations and more-than-delivered on its promises:

Own The Inner Half: The TORQ Handle frees up your hands, allowing hitters to barrel-up the inside pitch and avoid the dreaded "jam sandwich".

Stay Inside The Ball: By getting your hands inside the ball, the TORQ promotes the best swing mechanics for more consistent, powerful contact.

Power To All Fields: TORQ Technology helps you keep the barrel on-plane longer through the hitting zone, so you can drive the ball with more backspin (to all parts of the yard).

The MAKO TORQ Youth features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -10 length to weight ratio, new TORQ TAQ Performance Grip, and is Approved for Play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC and USSSA. Amplify Your Power and pick up the EEaston MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 today at JustBats.com. The shipping is always free, and we're always here for you - from ClickToHit!

12U Coach Phillip Davis coach

Pros: I bought a 30/20 for my 12U Rec team that had been struggling this fall to make solid contact. We worked a lot on getting the hands through the zone quickly and driving the ball but we just didn't seem to be driving the ball hard anywhere. We got this bat in and was able to get two practices in prior to the game to get used to the handle. My team exploded with hits this past weekend! We won both games first 14-3 and second 7-3 and my 3rd batter of the day hit a 2 run homerun, his first ever HR! Prior to these games we hadn't scored more then 6 runs in a game! I am not saying that the bat made them better but I do think the increased hand speed led to some early hits which then led to confidence and we all know how that goes after that! I have not been a fan of the Torq bat and have refused to buy one over the years but after the success we had this past weekend it is hard to maintain that same opinion. We will see how the rest of the season goes but so far so good!

Cons: The bat vibrates more that normal bats if any contact near the end of the bat is made. I ended up using a Vibration pad to help dampen this effect on the batters.

Loves the game!! Skeet parent

Pros: My son is 9 years old and he now loves the game!! He has been using his trusty Tball bat for along time and hits well with it. when I realized that he loved the game I was willing to pay more for a better bat. He is hitting the ball just as well but with alot more distance. He is so aggresive at the plate it makes him mad to walk. Swing away I tell and when he makes contact the ball flies off this bat and his eyes light up. This bat is building his confidence and making him a better player.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this bat need to be broke in or can you just put it in play? kitt
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) is a two-piece fully composite bat that requires a break-in period of about 150-200 swings, rotating the bat 1/4 turn after each swing off a tee or soft toss. If you are wanting a more game ready bat I would suggest alloy.
Cameron
I am a little concerned about the rotating handle for a 9 year old. Also, would a 29 inch, 19 ounce be too much for him to handle? don
Whether a 29 inch 19 ounce model would be too much for your player would be entirely dependent on his size and strength rather than just age so we would not be able to say difinitively if that size would work or not without that information. The rotating handle on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) promotes better hitting habits and should not be problematic for the player.
Patrick
My son is 8 years old. He is 4'6" and about 63 lbs. His current bat is 28 inches. What length should I get? spring is coming
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would recommend getting him a 29" length model. That length will give him a model of this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) that I believe will last your player the longest. As long as he can handle the 19 oz weight, you should be set!
Ben
My son just turned 10 years old and he is 5' tall and 85 pounds. Should I get him a 30" or 31" length bat? BW
Based on his height and weight, I would suggest the 30" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10.
Jason
Is the youth TORQ end loaded like the orange Mako or is it balanced? Baseball
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 features a balanced swing weight.
John P.
Is this bat any different than the 2015 youth MAKO TORQ? frosty
The only differences between the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 and the 2015 model is the paint scheme and grip tape.
Cameron
My son is 4'8" and 77 lbs. What size bat? A 29" or 30"? carson
Based upon your son's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting an option of this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) in the 29" length. As long as your player can handle the 19 oz weight and enjoys using the TORQ handle, the 29"/19 oz option of this bat could be for him.
Ben
My son had a 29"/19 oz model of the MAKO TORQ. It has broken on him. My son is 12 years old, 4'8'' and 78 lbs. What size bat should he use? cars
(1) If your defective model was purchased from JustBats, I would recommend reaching out to us and we will help you begin the warranty replacement process through Easton if it has been less than a year from the purchase date. (2) Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) in the 29" length. However, if you want a bat that may last your player longer, I think the 30"/20 oz option may be the best model in order to get him something he can use further into the future.
Ben
My sons bat stop torqueing, is there any way to fix the bat where it will rotate again? Marv
Once the TORQ feature on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 no longer rotates there is no way to fix this according to our knowledge. We would recommend reaching out the Easton at 888.259.1297 and see if they know of a solution besides the warranty route, if the bat still happens to be covered.
Cameron
Is this bat Little League approved? jay
Generally, Little League rules require the bat to have a barrel diameter of 2 1/4". Since the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, it is permitted for use in Little League.
Marcus
i am 130lbs and 5 foot what size bat should i use? braylon
Based on your height and weight, I would recommend that you swing a 31" length.
Nick
I'm about 100 pounds and 4'11". I was wondering how long of a bat I should get? Baseball Beast
Based upon your height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) in the 30" length. As long as you can handle the 20 oz weight of the 30" option of this bat, I would recommend that size option of this bat.
Ben
Does the spinning handle make the bat go faster? Cody
The handle on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 rotates 360 degrees to promote a fully extended swing, with the top palm facing up, and the bottom palm facing down. By allowing the wrists to move freely, the MAKO TORQ technology gets the barrel to the zone faster and keeps it in the zone longer, allowing the hitter to square up more pitches, more often with explosive power.
Marcus
What are the best Easton bats out now? How do they compare to this bat, price vs. performance? les
At this time, Easton has not released their 2017 models. Easton's drop 10 bat will be the MAKO BEAST XL. This bat will be very similar in design and construction to the MAKO XL and will carry a similar, if not the same, price point as the MAKO XL when it was first released. As for the performance, we will not know that until customer's are able to start using the bat and reviewing them but, based on that facts that the bats did not change much from 2016, one would surmise that performance will be comparable to the 2016 model(s).
Cameron
My son is 12 and a little over 5'2'' weighing about 98 pounds. What size bat do you recommend? baseball mom
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10.
Jason
My son is 9 years old and is about 4'10" and 90 lbs. He swings the DeMarini Voodoo 29" -13 pretty well. Since he is growing quite a bit, should we stay at the same length or increase to a 30"? Zach
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a 30 inch bat.
Cameron
My son is 9 years old, he weighs 53 lbs and his height is 4'4, he likes to hit with both a big barrel and slim barrel bats. Would this be a good combo the easton miko and the easton combat for him and also what length do you suggest. Melissa
We would recommend a 29" bat for his height and weight. The MAKO Torq YB16MKT10 will be and end loaded model, whereas the Combat will be a more balanced model.
Damon
I am 80 lbs and 4'8". What length should I get? ryan
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 in a 29 inch 19 ounce model.
Cameron
Do I get a full refund if I return my bat? I bought it new. johnny baseball
As long as the bat is unused, you can return it for a full refund or exchange it for another bat. Unfortunately if it has made contact with a baseball it is ineligible to be returned. Please give us a call at 866-321-2287 if you would like to set up a return.
Angelique
My son is 4'8" and about 100 lbs. What size bat would you recommend for him? Trod
For your son's height and weight, we recommend a 30" length bat.
Angelique
Is this bat the same thing as the 2016 EASTON MAKO YB16MK11? Is the only difference that one has a TORQ handle and one doesn't? Which one is the closet to the YB14X1? AlexM
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 and the 2016 EASTON MAKO YB16MK11 are essentially the same bat minus the TORQ handle feature and the length to weight ratio. The 2016 EASTON MAKO YB16MK11 will be one ounce lighter and will not feature the rotating handle like the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10. As for which one is closest to the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB14X1, this bat featured an end-loaded swing weight design and was a two-piece fully composite design. Both of the bats mentioned prior, are two-piece fully composite designs with balanced swing weights. With that said, neither of these bats are more similar than the other when compared to the XL1. The bat most similar to the XL1 would be the 2016 Easton MAKO XL Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MK10.
Cameron
If using this bat and then going back to a regular handled bat in the future, would it possibly screw up your swing or anything else? Alex
There could certainly be a slight adjustment period that a player might undergo when transiting from one bat to the other but it should not affect the player's swing long term.
Cameron
Can you please tell me why these TORQ bats are being offered at a price below the normal MAKO bats? Also, these bats are only good for the 2017 Little League season given the new rule changes correct? Glenn
The difference in price of the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 compared to the Easton MAKO is due to the quantity levels we currently have with each the demand that exists for the different bats. In January 2018 there will be a new bats being rolled out in an effort to make the bats have less exit velocity capabilities. When this happens there will significant changes in the performance of the bats.
Cameron
I am 5'4" and 120 lbs, age 12. What length bat should I get? Point mal
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10.
Jason
My son used someones MAKO at baseball camp today and loved it. He's a bigger 9 year old who is 4'8" and about 70 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? Was torn between 29 and 30 inch. Tina
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 in a 29 inch model. If you feel that he can handle a 20 ounce bat then by all means increase the length to 30 inches. Without seeing his swing though it would be difficult to access whether or not this would be the correct route to take.
Cameron
I'm 10 and 90-100 pounds. What size should I get? toota
The best way to determine the correct size for you is by your height and weight. However, a 10 year old is typically swinging a 30" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.batwarehouse.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I'm 11, 4'11" and 80 pounds. What size bat should I use? Slappy
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10.
Jason
I'm 5'3 96 pounds which bat is better for me 2016 mako or 2016 mako torq. Seththebeast
The MAKO and the MAKO TORQ are going to feature the same TCT Thermal Composite technology. The difference between the two is that the TORQ will feature a 360 degree rotating handle while the MAKO features a standard handle. It would come down to personal preference between the MAKO and the TORQ.
John
My son is 8 years old, 4'2" tall, and weighs about 70 lbs. What size should he swing? mike bondi
If your 8 year old can handle a -10 bat, then I would recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 in the 28" 18 oz. size.
Marcus
My son is using an Easton S500 (32"/19 oz). He is going to be 10 years old and is at 5'2" and 130 lbs. He is killing the ball with that bat, but wanted a better bat, what do you think (thinking about the 32"/22 oz MAKO TORQ)? Todd tague
Based upon your player's height and weight, he should be just fine with another 32" length bat. However, I would just make sure he is comfortable with the weight before deciding to buy a specific bat. As long as you feel he can handle the 22 oz weight of the 32" option of this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10), I would recommend that size option of this bat.
Ben
What is the barrel size and the safety factor of this bat? japple2298
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 has a 2 1/4" barrel diameter and a 1.15 bat performance factor.
Angelique
Does it need to be broken in before using it at practice? Trey
Before expecting to see the absolute highest level of performance off this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10), I would recommend allowing for a little bit of a break-in period on the bat. A few days of consistent use with this bat should prime the composite material so that it is able to perform at the highest allowable level. You can definitely use practice time as the period to work on getting the bat broken-in (i.e. you don't need to hit off a tee before using in practice or games in order to break the bat in).
Ben
Would this bat be illegal in 2017 or 2018? coach eddie
This 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) should be legal for use in most all leagues in 2017. However, in 2018, this bat will be illegal in select leagues since it will not feature USA Bat certification.
Ben
Can I use this bat in 2017 and 2018? If not, why? Ryan Augustine
This 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) will feature USSSA 1.15 BPF certification which will make it legal for most every league in 2017. However, in 2018, there will be select leagues requiring USA Bat certification (however, for USSSA play in 2018, this bat would still be legal for use). This bat will not have that USA Bat certification and will be banned from use in select leagues.
Ben
Easton recommends leather balls be used. Can synthetic leather balls be used? blairscape
I would not recommend excessive usage of synthetic baseballs when swinging the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10, or any other bat for that matter.
Marcus
my son is 4'5 and wears 80 lbs. Whats a good size bat for him Eddie Essex
We would recommend a 29"/19oz 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) for your son.
Carter
My son is 4'7" 96 lbs, what size bat would recommend? Tisha
Based on your sons height and weight we would recommend a 30"/20 ounce 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10).
Carter
My son is 4'10" and weighs 85 pounds. What would be a good size for him? John
For your son's height and weight, we recommend a 30" bat length.
Angelique
My son is 8 yr old and he weighs about 56 lb and 4'3 . Is he able to use this bat and what size? kim
Yes, he would be able to use the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 depending on what the bat regulations are for the league he plays in. As for the size, based off his height and weight we recommend a 28" bat.
Cooper
I am about 60 pounds and I am 9 years old. What size bat should I buy? Ben
We would have to know your height too but based on your weight and your age we would recommend swinging the 30"/20oz 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10).
Carter
Can I handle a 30oz Mako Torq? I am about 80 pounds, 11 years old and 5'6". What bat size would you recommend me? Baseball boy
A 30 oz bat would be a bit too heavy in my opinion. I would recommend a bat length of roughly 30" or 31", with a weight somewhere between 19-23 ounces.
Kyle J.
My 12 yr old son is 5'0 and 93 lbs. What size do you recommend since I'm in between a 30 or 31"? Geo
If you are undecided on just which size you want to go with, look at things such as your child's strength, how far/close he likes to stand to the plate, and whether he prefers quicker bat speed or more power. These are all factors that you can use to determine the proper length of bat, alongside his height and weight.
Kyle J.
Would this bat be okay i'm 4'10" 86 lbs. and 12 years old? Leo
Yes, the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 is a great option for a player in your age. It has a very balanced feel and a tremendous amount of pop.
Sean
I'm 8 years old. Is this bat good for me? I drive it 180 feet. lefty
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 is a great option to consider for an 8 year old. This bat features a two-piece fully composite construction with a balanced swing weight. Also features the TORQ 360 degree rotating handle technology to help a player stay inside the baseball more consistently.
Cameron
Is this bat considered a big barrel bat? Purchasing for my grandson. Sue
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat: YB16MKT10 is not a big barrel bat as it will feature a 2 1/4" barrel diameter. If you are seeking a big barrel bat then we would recommend looking at Senior League/Youth Big Barrel bats as these will be either 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrel diameter bats.
Cameron
Would it be okay for 9 year old and does it have pop to it with no vibration Don
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) would be a great option for a 9 year old. It also features ConneXion Technology, which Maximizes Energy Transfer and Eliminates Vibration.

Is this bat good for a 13 year old? Jen
This 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ Youth Baseball Bat (YB16MKT10) could definitely be used by a 13 year old player if desired. However, I would recommend checking the league rules to see if he can use a bigger barreled bat. If your player is allowed to use bigger barreled bats, I might recommend looking to a bat like the 2016 MAKO TORQ (SL16MKT8) that has a 2 5/8" barrel and -8 length-to-weight ratio. That size of bat is typically one I would suggest more for a 13 year old player.
