Description
TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. This innovative material comprises both the barrel and handle which are united by Easton's patented 2-PC ConneXion Technology. By isolating the handle from the barrel with the connection joint, energy transfer is maximized while simultaneously eliminating any unwanted vibration. The MAKO's foundation is then optimized with one of the lightest swing weights on the market.
The MAKO features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -12 length to weight ratio, new HYPERSKIN Performance Grip, and is Approved for Play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC and USSSA. Pros: The bat is great feel, has nice pop, lots of bounce.
Cons: The finish is horrible and will chip when you just look at it. For 280.00 bucks, this should have a finish that is more durable. When hitting 2 regulation leather little league balls, the paint smeared off and my paint is tacky. Now i have to open up a claim with Easton to get it replaced. The bat is 4 days old. Total waste of time and money. If you want a bat that is going to last longer then 2 hits before the paint peels off, go with another bat. if you don't care if your new 280.00 bat is going to smear off the paint, then get this one.
Pros: everthing
Cons: nothing
Pros: The best balanced bat with the biggest pop. This is an amazing bat that lives up to the hype. Get the right size and let them swing away. My son has been through several other brands of composite bats and always resisted the Mako. After picking up this bat, his swing has gotten much better and his hits are farther. The bat has helped.
Cons: Like all composite bats, use it on baseballs only. Not made of glass, but not for smashing rocks and light poles and dugout floors...
Pros: This is a amazing bat all my kids use it we are undefeated and we are the best team in the ledge and we have all hit triples or homers
Cons: It's vibrates but my kids just were batting gloves
Pros: POP...POP....and more POP. My smallest on the team, 72lb 11 year old son is hitting this one to the fence on regular basis. Breaks in nicely just do it the right way. We probably hit 125 balls off of a tee first rotating the bat a quarter of an inch at a time with the first 75 or so at about 50 percent before gradually moving up to 100 percent power on the swings, then another 80 soft toss pitches from the side still rotating. We then hit about another 40 or so doing soft toss from the front. My son has easily gained 20 plus feet over his 2015 Mako Torq.
Cons: Absolutely none yet but only used in about six games.
Pros: my son and his teammates love the new mako, great pop off the bat
Cons: only bad thing i see is a week after i bought the bat, the price dropped $80, which is ridiculous
Pros: Outstanding pop for such a light bat. Aided swing speed for my 12 year old who hit his first homer with it. it. If your player is struggling at point of contact--missing the the breaking or off-speed stuff, or behind the fastball, go a little lighter with this -12 Mako.
Cons: Barrel is shorter than his Orange -11 Mako. But difference in bat control for soft/breaking pitches in pitcher's counts and swing speed to handle the fastball is wort it.
Pros: My little guy can hit it to the fence now...sweet pop to it!
Cons: Everyone that doesn't have one wants to use it!
Pros: Nice bat with much less sting than an alloy bat. Your kid still needs to do the work. The ball may travel a little further but they still need to hit the ball.
Cons: We were hoping the bat would actually be 16 oz. as advertised since my son is small for his age and needs a lighter bat head. It is 18.5 oz, not 16.oz. He loves it though. It's a shame it won't be legal next year in LL.
Pros: pop swing speed
Cons: vibration
