Description

This lightweight -12 design helps players of all skill levels generate smooth, consistent swing speeds, but it has more than enough responsiveness contained within its barrel. Speaking of the barrel, the S500C's is forged from Easton's 7050 Aircraft Alloy Barrel to further improve bat speed and optimize the barrel's flex on contact. Unlike its one-piece cousin, the S500, this model provides players with the extremely popular hybrid, two-piece construction; without an excessive price tag. The real highlight of this bat lies in the patented ConneXion Technology that maximizes bat whip and flex for extreme energy transfer while eliminates all negative vibration that might end up ringing a hitter's hands. Fused to a thin, 29/32" composite handle wrapped in All Sports Grip, the S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C is exactly the stick that developing Youth hitters need to amplify their game.

The Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -12 length to weight ratio, a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty, and is Approved for Play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. Excellent Bat for the price.. Tony coach

Pros: Great balanced bat, very controlled while swing, lots of POP, Tried all the expensive bats from teammates and this series has been right there. My sone has used this series for the past 4 years and has never failed him. This bat has built his confidence big time. Why spend hundreds when you can spend less the a hundred and get a bat that can perform just as good. Don't get caught up in all the expensive bat hype. This bat performed excellent on outside pitches with hard hit balls without compromise to power and ball strike.

Cons: None

lefty loosie Big Tom parent

Pros: best thing my son likes about the bat is the minimal vibration and larger sweet spot than other bats we've had. 29-17 feels true to posted measurements - the weight especially - but he looks good swinging it and seems well balanced. We have noticed improved bat speed but with a little more weight he tends to get more pop off the bat in practice.

Cons: So far nothing besides a question of durability. This is our first time using a 2-piece bat. Time will tell.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

How is this bat different than the S-500, drop 13 bat? Is the sweet spot for both bats the exact same? There is a big difference in price. ken
The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat (YB16S500C) features a composite handle and a two-piece design that is not featured on the Easton S500 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14S500). It has a bit more comfortable swing. The barrel size should be similar.

My son is 8 years old, turning 9 in May 2016, playing in the minors (player pitched) for the first time this year. He is 4'7" tall and 100 lbs. I am considering this bat for him, in size 29 inches and 17 oz. Last year he was using a 29 inch bat that's 16 oz and -13. Am I right to get him this bat this year? What are your thoughts and recommendations? Thanks. Rachel
Based on his height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C in a 30 inch 18 ounce model.
Cameron
My son is just 9 years old, around 65 pounds, and is playing in a player pitch league this spring. He is good at baseball but hasn't played much. What bat do you recommend for him? Alison
The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat (YB16S500C) is a great option for him. It is a very well balanced bat that will help him control the bat through the zone.
John
I am down to the 2016 Easton S500C and 2016 Mizuno Generation for a 9 year old with average bat speed. What are the primary differences in your opinion and do those differences really matter at the end of the day? Tommy
The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C has a hybrid two-piece construction, therefore the handle is composite and the barrel is alloy. This conneXion technology maximizes energy transfer and eliminates vibration. The 2016 Mizuno Generation -12 Youth Baseball Bat: YB16GEN has a one-piece alloy construction. That is going to be the primary difference between them. The 2016 Mizuno Generation -12 Youth Baseball Bat: YB16GEN also features a synthetic leather grip and variable wall thickness technology that optimizes performance and the sweet spot. They both have a balanced swing weight which will allow for faster bat speed and improved control. It is going to come down to personal preference between a one-piece bat that is stiff and a two-piece bat that has flex.
Angelique
My son is 58 lbs and 49 in, is this the bat for him, if not, what would you recommend for bat length and weight? Thanks in advance. Joy
For your son's height and weight we recommend a 28" length bat. The weight of the bat will be dependent on his strength and age. The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C is offered in a 28" length which will be the right size for him.
Angelique
Grandson just turning 9 years old at 4'3" 72 lbs. what length and ounce bat would you recommend for this bat? Also, is this the same bat as the Easton S500 bat? Bob
Based upon your player's height and weight, we would recommend going with a Youth Baseball bat (2 1/4" barrel diameter) in the 28" length. As long as your player can handle the 16 oz weight of the 28" option, you should be just fine going with that size option of this bat. This S500C will be different from an S500 model because this S500C model is a two-piece, hybrid bat (alloy barrel and composite handle) while the S500 is a single-piece, all-alloy bat.
Ben
What is the difference between the S500C and the S600C? Batman
The only difference that I am seeing between the 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C and the S600C is cosmetics.

My son is soon to be 10 in May '16, playing kid pitch - he's already 5 ft and 100 lbs. Should we look at a 31 inch or 30 inch bat? He's been using DeMarini bats (-11 / -13) in past and doing ok, we know he has better potential and want best we can afford; teammates have variety of Easton shorter lengths. Please advise. PK
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C in a 30 inch 18 ounce model. With that said, if you feel like a 31 inch 19 ounce is better suited for him you could certainly go that route as well.
Cameron
My son is 8 years old. About 5 months ago he suffered a compound broken left arm and is still dealing with some loss of strength from this. He will be in kid/coach pitch, but is playing as one of the older kids. He is a little over 4' 00" and weighs around 50 lbs. He has a great swing and could hit home runs last year with a light weight bat, but wants to try a little something different. Would this bat be a good fit for him? unsure mom
The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat (YB16S500C) would be an excellent option for your son. The bat is is going to be lightweight and balanced which will allow him to swing it effectively as he continues to build strength in that arm.
Jake
my son is 10 years about 4"8 and 80 pounds, what size bats should I get. I know he has 29, and 30 inch but he like his 29 better. perry
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 30" length. However, if he is more comfortable with the 29" and his bat speed is good with that length, then he would be okay sticking with that size.
Nick
Why is this bat discontinued? DNew
The 2016 Easton S500C Youth Baseball Bat: YB16S500C is discontinued because we have sold out of this item and as of now we are no longer expecting to receive any more of them in stock from Easton.
