Pros: Best performing -10 drop Big Barrel...huge pop and great feel---already comes with lizard skin grip..my brother has the -5 and loves that one too
Cons: none
Pros: Insane "PoP" Great feel, great balance My son has hit a Mako for two years, this bat is far superior.
Cons: Not yet
Pros: Extremely light thru the zone and extreme pop. Ball jumped off barrel.
Cons: Mid 80's bat speed totaled this bat within 5 days of owning. Where handle meets the barrel just started wobbling. Company backed up product. Sent bat back ($15 UPS) and got money back. My son still said it was the sickest bat he's owned.
Pros: bat has tremendous pop out of the wrapper! lizard skin grip is wonderful! very well balanced bat...worth ever penny!!...this bat launches balls!!
Cons: what cons?!?..lol...best bat out period!!!
Pros: Great bat major pop even when he does not hit it solid ball still takes off.
Cons: none so far.
Pros: The bat has tremendous pop and feels great.
Cons: The only thing is that it doesn't swing for you!!!!!!
Pros: bat has a lot of pop 12U travel ball player 5'4" loves it.
Cons: handle knob paint chipping after 1 wk
Pros: lightweight and my son likes the way the bat feels in his hands. i rated durability low because he hasnt had the bat that long.
Cons: non yet
Pros: second louisville slugger ive baught and just as good as the other which was the older version of this bat. my son hit one over a 220 fence first pitch. very good product.
Cons: no cons good bat
Pros: My son loved the bat.. Balanced swing and great pop!
Cons: Had the bat for just less than 1 month and the bat broke in the 4th game of a tournament when he fouled an inside pitch of the handle.
Pros: The bat has a solid feel to it and my son (8 years old) is able to swing the bat quicker (1 inch longer and 1oz heavier than his previous bat) and get in the zone faster. The bat does have a better pop than the Omaha 915 (previous bat). The handle and the grip does provide a better feel and shock absorbance when hitting.
Cons: Even though the bat has a better pop than the Omaha 915, I feel it will perform better once we get through the break-in period. The bat is a little on the end loaded feel so keeping the bat lag is a must else the bat will feel heavy through out the swing.
Pros: awesome bat
Cons: none so far
Pros: The ball flys off the barrel and has a smooth feel. My son has tried different Mako's and Dimarini's including the new ZEN and just wanted to be different so we decided on the PRIME 916 and WOW did we get lucky with this bat!!! We now have other kids ditching their bats for his 916.
Cons: NONE
Pros: Out of wrapper had great pop from the first time it was taken out for "break in" Really like the lizard skin grip.
Cons: Didn't like how the grip was thick at the base of the handle at first
Pros: My son is a 10 year old tall thin kid and not by any means a heavy hitter. I got this bat in a 29" length. I also got the Omaha 516 -10 2 3/4" in 29" length. In the fall he hit with a -12 Combat Portent in 29" length. For comparison I let him hit some off the Tee with all three. He can swing the Combat quick but not hit the ball as solidly as with either the Omaha or Prime simply because of the weight difference. But the Prime is head and shoulders above the Omaha. It's not even a close comparison. He also remarked at the lack of vibration he's used to with the one piece Combats he's used the past couple of years. He likes it so much he'd probably rather hit with it full time but I am going to make him use this only on game day and the Omaha is for practice and cage work.
Cons: In this one session just hitting balls off the Tee I noticed a small chip in the paint in the yellow band on the top end of the bat. It's just cosmetic but I wouldn't have expected this with so little usage.
Pros: Absolutely no vibration. Bat speed is great. Awesome balance.
Cons: None
Pros: quality, pop, durable, design, warranty
Cons: n/a

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
