Updated Review Allen coach

Pros: Surprised no one else has reviewed this bat so I thought I'd update my first review. First, Louisville Slugger/Demarini customer service is incredible. I bought a used LS Triton at a 'Play it Again' and after six months of almost continuous playing (75+ games) and practices my 8 year old (Playing 12U) broke the end cap. I called LS and tried to get a new cap but they instructed me to send it in for repair. I told them I bought it used, didn't matter they said. After 10 days I got a new 916 Prime sent to me, floored me. A $250 bat to replace a second hand one. So, he's used the bat since August of last year (50+ games, my son plays travel ball too) and countless batting practices, even hitting the dimpled balls at 60 MPH and this bat has only gotten better, even when it's cold out (For Florida) he's hitting liners and flys at 200 feet with it. Love the pop and the sound it makes, especially compared to Makos. Much better performer than Makos and Torques. Amazing bat...

Cons: None.

Pros: My 11 yr old son has had the bat for about a month and is very impressed with it. He was swinging the Mako for the previous two years and we got tired of cracking bats. So far we are very impressed with the "pop", the good looks, the swing weight, and the lizard skin grip is a plus. If the durability of this bat holds up, it is going to be a tough bat to beat!

Cons: None at this time.

This is the one. Coach Pope coach

Pros: I bought this bat for my son. He has swung big barrels for travel ball for years. We have used Easton bats since they started the power brigade series. This was the first weekend he played with this bat. It is HOT right out of the wrapper. 5 players on the team warmed up with this bat and all said it felt broke in and good. This bat has a very good feel of the ball coming off and a great sound for a composite. So far, this is the best bat I have ever purchased. We will be sticking with Louisville Slugger from now on. When they get more 28 inches in stock, I will order another one for my youngest son. I purchased the 30 inch for my oldest and it was worth every penny.

Cons: That I did not find this bat 2 years ago!!!

I am glad I bought this bat BaseballDad coach

Pros: What everyone really wants to know is , what kind of "POP" does this bat have? Answer is ; Really, Really Good. Equal to Mako "POP". In my opinion it has a larger sweet spot than the Mako. Evenly weighted Durable Best Looking bat for 2016 Lizard skin grip

Cons: I would like to see the grip be a little longer, but it is still OK.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
