HOOTTTTTTT!!!!!! Jon Cadman player
Pros: oh man where do I even start! first this bat is hot right out of the wrapper ! still has that breaking glass sound, the ball jumps off..no FLYS off the bat, love the new paint scheme, at first it threw me off I thought it was going to be a glossy paint job but it has a rough feel almost like sand paint, I cant wait to really swing this bat on a filed not just in the cages and break it in more to really see what this bat can do !
Cons: The only con I have is the grip. the grip on my bat was loose when I twisted my hands the grip would move with it , I didn't like that so I jst bought new grip and now it feels great .
Perfect Bat Jon C. player
Pros: Great feel, great look. This is my first Lousiville Slugger and I fell in love with it as soon as I took a few cuts. I use to be partial to Demarini and Easton but the overall balance of the Z4000 is second to none.
Cons: I've never been a fan of any of the tape that comes with my bats, so I re-wrapped it with my own personal tape and style. I'm actually looking into patenting it. My grips gives the hitter more control and stability.
HULK1 MRBOB player
Pros: I was really surprised by this bat this is the first louisville i have bought not dissapointed at all great bat excellent right out of the wrapper and i mean that i used it with out any BP and it was hot balls were flying everywhere and with some velocity. I will buy Louisville in the future for sure.
Cons: sound does take some getting used to.
super hot! slowpitch fanatic player
Pros: This bat is nasty! Even ground balls hit with this bat seem to get by most of the time. Never had a bat that the balls come off so fast every time with crazy rotation. It has been great for hard line drives and a few home runs 300 +. Everybody on my slowpitch team uses it over the several mikens and demarinis we have. Great overall bat!
Cons: Cons.... we have trouble putting it down
No Regrets Andrew player
Pros: 10 Hits in and it was already hot. The graduated grip on the bottom of the bat gives it a more comfortable feel and better bat control for going to the opposite field. The balance on it is perfect, it took zero swings to adjust too. I wasn't sure about going with a Louisville bat, my last couple have been Miken's, but I have not regretted it.
Cons: Everyone on both teams wants to use it.
Short-Lived Step player
Pros: Felt great out of the wrapper. It has a good feel to it. It's perfectly balanced, I could easily hit line drives to all fields from both sides of the plate.
Cons: Never really seemed to get hot. After about 100-150 cuts it started making a weird cracking sound in the handle and completely died. Could just be a problem with my bat, I haven't heard about anyone else having problems with it. I sent it back to LS using the warranty.
Good out of the wrapper Chiefmoon player
Pros: + Excellent balance + Ball comes off bat hot
Cons: + Has a "ping" sound to it that other similar Z-series bats don't have.
Cracked after 50 hits Stephen Jacobs player
Pros: Heated up quickly
Cons: Completely cracked after 50 hits of it, replaced with warranty but remains to be seen how long it will last.
hot! slowpitch guy player
Pros: Probably the eastiest bat to swing I've ever owned. I've gotten more into end loaded bats lately but the balance in this bat just feels right. If you can't hit a hard line drive off this bat your doing something wrong. Haven't had anyone hit one 300+ with it but every hit off this bat is hot. Great bat for hard hits in the park.
Cons: Although this bat has a super balanced feel and is easy to swing I have trouble getting it over the fence with it. I've found this bat is best for hard line drives.
Louisville Slugger z4000 pinky player
Pros: great bat! hits generate a cool sound...popped one to CF, almost to 300 on the 10-15th hit
Cons: grip at the base feels a little strange
Best Bat I have Ever Owned!!! Amy Emerson player
Pros: Everything, this bat was hot out of the wrapper! I was a bit nervous giving this balanced bat a try as I own 3 other Louisville Sluggers and thought nothing would ever compare to my end load bats. I was wrong this bat has taken the place of all my End Load louies. I purchased it as part of the Bat Pack a few months ago, it came with the z4000 end load. I cannot keep this bat away from my teammates, everyone uses it. I am considering purchasing another one of this same bat just because I know I will not want anything else. I also really like the gritty texture as well, it seems to help protect the bat a little more cosmetically. This review is for the 27 oz Balanced Louisville Slugger Z4000
Cons: none.
1 1 player
Pros: Feels good going through the zone. not a lot of bad feel to it.
Cons: Not sure about the other reviews but this bat has no pop!!!! No sweet spot. ball does not jump off the ball.

About the Brand
In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.
After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.
The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.
The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.
Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
