Description
The Easton MAKO BEAST is the newest version of one of the most popular baseball bats in the industry and it now has the biggest and most powerful composite barrel that Easton has ever made. By extending and combining the game's longest two-piece composite barrel with the game's fastest swing speed, this bat is an absolute BEAST that offers the lowest swing weight index out of the entire Easton lineup. A low swing weight index results in an evenly balanced model that delivers power through fast swing speeds. Easton's redesigned TCT Thermo Composite technology now provides an extended speed barrel design. So, the BEAST's barrel is longer than ever for more plate coverage and a huge sweet spot. This extended barrel is connected to an ultra-thin 29/32 inch composite handle by the patented two-piece ConneXion technology that maximizes energy transfer while eliminating sting for optimized feel and comfort. Adding to the comfort is the fact that each MAKO BEAST comes wrapped with the formidable HYPERSKIN grip and it is backed by a full twelve (12) month manufacturer's warranty. Easton: Unleash The Beast!
This Easton MAKO BEAST Youth Baseball Bat: YB17MK12 features a -12 length to weight ratio, a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter, and is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie Youth, Pony, AABC, and USSSA. Good Bat Kevin player
Pros: It feels lighter than a -12 for great bat speed. I take hacks everyday of the week and the bat has no dents or bad marks, it holds up very well. It also, jumps quickly off the bat.
Cons: The break in process was very long and it had a lot of sting during the process
Nice pop, very light Baseball mom parent
Pros: This bat is very light. It has a nice pop. My 12 yr old uses it for travel ball. It didn't take too long to break in. No dents so far... Its a great bat!
Cons: A bit thin but nothing you can't adjust to.

BEAST!!! jimmyjam parent
Pros: once it was broke in, my 11 yr old went from barely, occasionally hitting them out of a 200 ft fence, to clearing the fence by 40-50ft. I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it.
Cons: bat is no illegal in 4 months. but gonna enjoy fall ball till then
Worst Mako ever! Daniel Ferrell parent

Cons: No pop, weird sound. we returned the bat after 1hr of use. we have owned several other Mako bats and i have used Easton my whole life....this os by far the worst Easton i ever owned.

Is there a break-in period? joe
I just bought this bat for my son in a 28 inch 16 ounce -12. I also have last years Mako in the same size 28 inch 16 ounce -12. I am holding them side by side and I don't see any way that this year's Mako Beast model has a longer barrel than last years model. If anything the barrel on last year's model stays wider a little bit longer before it starts to taper down to the handle. The distance from the end of each bat to the point where they start to taper appears to be about a quarter inch longer on last year's model. Can you please try to explain again where I should see this extra 1.5 inches of barrel compared to last year's model? Eric
My 10 year old son is about 4'2"-4'4", 55-60 lbs. He currently has a 2016 Easton S500 27/14 that he used all of last year. But this year it is giving him really bad stingers on missed hits during batting practice. I'm contemplating going to composite to help limit the vibration. The smallest composite bat is 28/16 so I am concerned about going up 2 ounces in weight and him ending up late on everything. Phil

My son plays travel ball, 9u, starting in August. What bat would be a better fit, the YB17MK11 or YB17MK12? curious
I just received this bat as a replacement for a bat that was defective, under the year warranty process. The lady said that this bat would meet the standards for Little League play in 2018. It does not have the USA stamp on it that I recall (may have to look at it again). Is this bat a legal bat? Chad
