Description

This season you'll be firing off shot after shot with the new 52 Caliber from COMBAT! COMBAT has wowed crowds and players alike over the years with some of the HOTTEST composite bats to ever hit the market. Expect nothing different this time around. The 52 Caliber features a one-piece fully composite construction to give hitters the power they've been looking for. The 52 Caliber is made with Blended Fiber Technology, where Arimid fibers (found in bullet proof vests) are combined with carbon and glass fibers in varying proportions and precise angles to get more trampoline effect and absorb vibrations. This results in more energy transfer to the ball and greater distance. Through the use of Anistrophic Composite Technology, COMBAT was able to create a composite weave that enhances key parts of the barrel to optimize performance and extend durability. The sweetspot of the 52 Caliber is enlarged through the use of Variable Stiffness Technology which lowers barrel wall stiffness on each side. This gives players mega pop on every hit! Durability and solid construction are key to this year's COMBAT line. That is why they have added Nanocomp Technology to the 52 Caliber. Nanocomp uses carbon nanotubes to effectively fill in gaps between fibers to dramatically increase bat strength. Lock and Load baseball fans, the 52 Caliber is ready to make its mark! COMBAT: For Players, By Players! This bat is backed by a Full Twelve Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: My son bought this last week. He's used it in 4 games and has been hitting very well with it. Excellent pop, good balance. I know he loves it because it's the first bat he's ever had that he refuses to share.

Cons: White grip was a bad idea.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the COMBAT 52 Caliber Senior League Baseball Bat: 52SL1 -8? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

what is the difference between the new B# and the B52 ? If I read the description here they are the exact same batboy
The B3 has a different composite construction which allows it to maintain a high level of performance for a longer period of time. COMBAT claims that the materials used in the B3 are also a little higher quality than the 52.
Brett
Is this bat approved for high school baseball? judy

lkh
Is this bat allowed in Senior League baseball? Hutty
Yes, this allowed for youth big barrel leagues.
Linda
dose it also have the usssa stamp on it cleem
Yes, it does have the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it.
Linda
Does this bat have the usssa certified stamp on it? Gladstone31
Yes, it has the USSSA stamp.
Kara

You say the B3 is better quality and longer-lasting than the B52. Will the B52 get me through one 80 game season since next season I need to move my son up to a minus 5? He's at U12, 5'6" 145 lbs with great batspeed. RobbieG31
Yes, it should last that long with proper care and treatment of it. I would just be careful using it in too cold of weather.
Linda
I' trying to decide between the Combat 52 caliber and the 2012 COMbat B3: B3SL1. Could you please tell me the difference? I am looking for only a single season. Also at what temperature should either bat be used at? Example > 50 degrees? Carl
The COMBAT 52 Caliber and the COMBAT B3 are going to be very similar. The main difference according to COMBAT is going to be that the B3 has a slightly bigger sweet spot. We recommend you don't use the bat below 45 degrees.
Kara
Where are these bats made? Is -8 vs -10 really going to matter? Mikey
The 52 Caliber is made in Canada. The drop does make a difference depending on the strength of the hitter and the size he currently uses.
KB
My son is 12 and next year he needs to use bbcor Should I buy this bat or combat 52 in bbcor? What are some differences between the two types? Are these bats good to use multiple years? Mikey
The only difference between the two is the length to weight ratio. For instance a 32 inch Youth Big Barrel 52 Caliber weighs 24 ounce. A 32 inch in the Adult model will weigh 29 ounces. They are both constructed from the same materials. I recommend having your son take some swings with an Adult -3 BBCOR bat before purchasing one. If he is able to maintain good bat speed and control with an Adult -3 model, then he may be ready for a BBCOR bat. The 52 Caliber has proven to be a pretty durable bat.
Tyler
What is the break-in period for this bat? DP3
We recommend taking between 150-200 hits, either off of a tee or soft toss starting at about 40% power and increasing the closer you get to the 200 hit mark. Also make sure you are using the same balls you would in a regular game and are rotating the bat about 1/4 of an inch in between each hit to ensure an even break in all around the barrel of the bat.
Jennifer
Is this bat legal for 13 to 15 Babe Ruth League in 2012? Charlie
The 2012 COMBAT 52 Caliber is not legal for 13 to 15 Babe Ruth League in 2012. All composite bats must be BBCOR certified.
Kara

The 2012 COMBAT 52 Caliber and the Easton XL1 are both very high performing bats with a lot of pop. The 52 Caliber is a little more balanced than the XL1.
Nick K.
If I'm going into 8th grade next year, would a -5 be better for me than a -8? joshua
Since you will have to use a -3 in high school, a -5 would be a good transition.
Nick K.

The COMBAT 52 Caliber has a slightly longer barrel than the S1. However, both bats have great pop.
