The DeMarini Bustos (DXBFP) is a very lightweight bat and is designed for younger players facing slower pitching. We recommend the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFP).

It is very possible. Demarini is a very well known manufacturer when it comes to baseball equipment, and many large vendors carry their products.
The bat pictures show the USSSA 1.20 stamp. Why is this not legal in 2014? If the stamp on this bat is not legal for 2014, can you direct me to a picture of the correct stamp for 2014?
I apologize for the confusion. The DeMarini Bustos: (DXBFP) Fastpitch bats we currently carry have all been re-certified by DeMarini with the newest USSSA BPF 1.20 stamp. You can find the newest BPF 1.20 stamp on this product page and also by following this link: (http://goo.gl/EBCvLi). All of those QAs that indicated this bat did not have the correct stamp pre-dated the change. I have removed them from the bat's product page to avoid further confusion. This Bustos model is approved for the 2014 USSSA fastpitch season.
are you allowed to use this bat in under 60 Degrees?
We don't recommend using your "game model" below 55 degrees because the ball gets harder which will cause more stress on the bat.
My daughter plays in an ASA 10u league. Will this bat be allowed to be used in the 2014 calendar year?
Yes the DeMarini Bustos will be approved for play in ASA in 2014.
My daughter plays JV ball, coach says she can't use this bat b/c of -13. She is in USSSA league, is this correct?
USSSA says nothing in their rule book about -13 bats being illegal. Under their rules, the 2012 DeMarini Bustos: DXBFP will be legal for play for the entire 2013 season.
My daughter is 8 years old and is 4'5" and weighs 61 lbs. Should I go with a 28" 15 oz. or the 29" 16 oz. bat?
Based on your daughter's information, I'd recommend a 30" 2012 DeMarini Bustos or a 29" at the shortest.
Is this bat a double wall composite bat?
No. The 2012 DeMarini Bustos: DXBFP is a two-piece bat with a single-wall alloy barrel and a composite handle.

Is DeMarini making a 2013 model? Noticed on DeMarini website that they did not have the Bustos? Any ideas why?
DeMarini is not manufacturing a 2013 Bustos. The phone number for DeMarini is 1-800-937-2287. They will be able to give more information on why they did not manufacture this model.
Is the bat all composite? If not what material is used? And what is the difference between the bats that are composite and aluminum?
The 2012 DeMarini Bustos is a one-piece alloy bat. Alloy bats do not require a break-in period and will perform hot out of the wrapper. A composite bat requires a break-in period and will perform better the more it is used.
What does BPF stand for?
BPF stands for "bat performance factor". The BPF is essentially a measure of a non-wood bat’s performance (how fast the ball exits the bat when hit).
Does this bat need to be broke in after purchase or is it ready to hit in game?
The 2012 DeMarini Bustos does not need to be broken in because it is an alloy bat. It will be ready to go right out of the wrapper.
What is the difference in the 2012 model versus the 2011 model other than the color?
Honestly, there isn't any real difference between the 2011 Bustos and the 2012 Bustos. Both are made from the same alloy and feature the same technology.
I see this is a 1.15bpf when most softball bats are 1.20. Due to the 1.15, can this b e used in LL hardball? It has all the required stamps and the 1.15 is what is required for hardball..!!
The DXBFP has a 1.20 BPF, and is labeled as such on the barrel of the bat. It will not be legal for Little League baseball.
So is there a definitive answer as to whether this is approved for little league softball? I would like to get a -13 for my daughter and they seem a bit hard to come by.
Yes. This bat is ASA approved and legal for all fastpitch softball leagues.
Would this be an ok bat for the cold?
Most manufacturers recommend players limit the amount of usage when it's below 55 or 60 degrees outside. The Bustos is a very durable bat and should hold up very well. As with any other bat though, just try to limit how much you use it in colder weather.

good slapper model?
Yes, this would be a good slapper model.
How does this bat compare to the easton rival XXL and the mizuno avalanche? Is this a good bat for high school fastpitch softball? I was really looking for a 19.5 oz bat but will 19 oz still do the job?
This is a good bat for fastpitch softball. Both the Easton Rival and the Bustos uses top of the line alloy. The Busos has a balanced swing weight. The Rival XXL is going to be slightly endloaded. Your weight and height would determine the weight you need. High School players usually use a little heavier bat.
My daughter just got the Bustos and we would like to go to the batting cage, is it ok to hit the dippled balls, and is there. a min.temp for this bat, its cold in the fall ball and spring here in Ohio.
I do not suggest using this bat in a batting cage with those dimpled balls. It is always a good idea to have a game bat and a cage bat.
how much pop is on this bat?
The Bustos have very good pop for a bat in that price range. It is a good choice.
How does this bat compare to other alloy bats and other composite bats? My daughters play 10u and I am looking for a light bat with good pop.
This is going to be a great bat in the price range of $150 and lower. This bat is going to have good durability and pop. The Bustos series has been around and is known for their durability.
