My son is 13 years old 5' tall and 98lbs. He is our lead off hitter and is great at hitting gap shots just looking for more pop. Not sure if I should get the 31" 21 oz. or the 31" 23 oz. Now he swings a 30"18 oz. Easton and is ready for a longer bat.
Based on his height and weight and is current bat, we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League.

When will the CF6 be out? How much money will it cost?
We don't have an exact release date for the CF6 baseball model. I would assume it's being released in September. It should retail for around the same price as the other CF5 models. DeMarini hasn't released much information about it.
My son currently uses the 2013 CF5 30" 19 oz. and loves it. He is 4' 10" and 83 lbs. What advantage is there going with the CF5 big barrel (-10). What size would you recommend?
The big barrel 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League will offer a larger barrel, which offers a larger surface to make contact with the ball. You should try using our bat coach in the link provided when sizing him, as it is a great tool to find the perfect size for your son. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
My son is almost 12 and is 5'3" and 105 lbs. He used a 31" 22 oz. Voodoo last season and sometimes a 31" 21 oz. Vexxum. Can you please compare the CF5 to those? Would 32" be too long for his size?
The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo and the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum are slightly end loaded compared to the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League which is balanced. The DeMarini CF5 is best designed for a contact hitter that needs to increase their bat speed. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. bat.
We play in the north. A lot of times early in the season practice and games are in the 40's & 50's. Does this cause the composite bats to break and crack?
Composite bats like the DeMarini CF6 can be susceptible to breaking under 55 degrees.
My son is 5'3" and 90 pounds. He's a contact hitter, uses an Easton S1 30" 18 oz. -12 drop for Little League. He plays on 13U travel team. We are looking for a 2 5/8 big barrel. What do you recommend?

I had a Rawlings xtreme composite bat and it cracked, is this bat less likely to crack?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League has been a pretty durable bat, so you should not run into any durability issues.
How is a two-piece construction bat different from a one-piece constructed bat and why are these differences important.
The main difference between one-piece bats and two-piece bats is that one-piece models are developed as one continuous piece of metal as opposed to being pieces bonded together. Two-piece models are created in two sections, a barrel and a handle, and then those two pieces are bonded together. The main purpose and advantage for a two piece bat is to reduce vibration for the batter's hands and to make the bat's sweetspot larger. The sweetspot is an area on the barrel of a bat where it's ideal to hit the ball to make it travel the farthest. Two-piece models also give you the ability to choose between a more flexible handle or a stiff, more rigid handle. With a one-piece model, all of the handles will be rigid and more stiff. The two-piece models also give players the ability to mix one part alloy with one part composite, another option that is not available for one-piece users.
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth League? If not which DeMarini bat is? I am looking for a 31/21.

The break-in period for the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League will be 100-200 soft toss swings rotating the barrel a 1/4" every 10 swings. You should not use this bat in temperatures under 55 degrees.

Is it a light bat for a 12 year old 75 pounds?
Bat sizing comes down to the height and weight of the player, as well as the size of their current bat, strength, and swing speed. For bat sizing, I recommend our Bat Coach. It's a great tool. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
My son is 4'8" and weighs 95 lbs. He is almost 10. Do you have any recommendations on what size bat I should get?
With the height and weight given, we suggest that you purchase a 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is a 30" 20 oz.
I need help deciding on one of three bats for my 12-year old. He is small and a contact hitter that is looking to add power, but can't be bogged down with a heavy bat. In the 30" 20 oz, -10 category, it has come down to these three. The DeMarini CF5, the Easton S1 and the Marucci Elite. Please advise me on best bat for contact hitter. Were looking for a bigger sweet spot but not a heavy feel heavy for a little guy that will compromise swing speed.
I would go with the 2013 DeMarini CF5 Senior League. It has an insanely balance swing to it and it's TR3 F.L.O composite material is known to hot right our of the wrapper. Since it is so light feeling it would work out great.
My son is using a DeMarini CF5 29" 19 oz. He is 4'11" and 73 lbs. He has trouble getting the bat around quickly and the DeMarini CF5 has worked very well for him. He will have to go to a -5 drop next season. What is comparable to the CF5 with a -5 drop?
Since the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League does not come in the -5, I would go with the Marucci Black 2 or the new 2014 DeMarini Vexxum. Both are easy swinging, very balanced bats just like the DeMarini CF5's are.
At what temperature would you consider it to be too cold to use this composite bat?
In general, I would not recommend using the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League or any other bat in temperatures below 55 degrees.

I am moving up to Pony League, and I was wondering what size bat I should use? I am 5' 8" 170 lbs. I was know i should at least get the 32" 22 oz., or should i go a bit bigger?
With the height and weight that you listed, we suggest a 32" bat. You might even think about moving up to a 32" 20 oz.
Is this bat legal for South Carolina high school baseball?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is not a BBCOR certified bat, so it is not legal for high school play. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult is legal for high school play.
Based on your bat coach, and other sites that provide bat sizing, my son is at the top level for a 30" bat. He is 4'11" and is 90 lbs. Should I just go with a 31/21, or should I stick with the 30/20 to guarantee he can handle the bat?
I would recommend the 31" 21 oz. model in the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat if you want to get a couple years of use from it.
Is my DeMarini CFX12 (-10 drop) bat legal in Babe Ruth play?
No. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX is illegal in Babe Ruth play. If you want to use a full composite bat in Babe Ruth, it must be an Adult -3 BBCOR certified bat.
My son is 11, 5' 1" tall, 95 lbs. He's not the strongest, but average strength and good at baseball. Should I get the 30" 20 oz. or 31" 21 oz. Last year he was using the SL12VXL 29" 19.5 oz., but it just looks so small on him now. Thanks!
The 31" 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat is the recommended length.
Is this bat legal for 10U BPA tournaments?
Typically, big barrel bats like the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX are legal in tournament play. We recommend contacting your tournament director for specific rules and regulations.
Is this bat legal for the Dixie Youth Ozone League?
No, it is not approved for Dixie League play. If it has compostite in the barrel, it needs to have a 2 1/4 barrel diameter.
Is this bat legal for 2013 Senior League play? Someone told me that the bats for Senior League must be BBCOR approved. Just confused.
Little League Seniors Division requires all bats to be BBCOR certified. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is not legal in your league.
I have a 9 year old son and he has been swinging a 30/20 Easton XL1 his batting coach told me he needs a bigger bat. He used a 32/22 DeMarini F2 older model bat but coach said to get one that size he was crushing it. What are your thoughts? Thanks for the info I'm thinking of getting the CF5.
His coach would know best and it's hard for us to make an exact size recommendation without being able to see and analyze the player's swing. I can say that it is common and recommended a player move up 1-3 oz. in weight with each new bat.
I'm looking for a big barrel bat for my 12 year old for AAU. I am looking at the CF5 and the Voodoo. In Little League, he uses a COMbat B4 minus 10. Any opinions?
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Thus, the CF5 would be recommended over the Voodoo as the CF5 is 100% composite like the COMBAT B4.
For a 5'4" 10U major travel ball-only player who is 115 pounds would you recommend 31/23 or 31/21? I saw some say it feels really light and I am also looking for durability.
That all depends on the weight of his current bat, and his swing speed and bat control. A player should not move down in weight if they had good swing speed and bat control with their previous bat, and it's typically recommended they move up 1-3 oz. with each new bat.
Are there any problems with the 2013 CF5 composite cracking?
I have not heard of any issues on the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat. If this bat is not broken-in correctly you could see issues with cracking on the barrel. The correct way to break-it in is by taking 100-200 swings from soft toss or hitting off of a batting tee. Be sure and rotate the barrel around so the entire barrel and composite fibers get broken-in.
Is the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League legal for use in Little League Junior?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is not legal in Little League Junior Division. All composite bats must be BBCOR certified in the Junior Division.
How does the CF5 DXCFX -10 compare to the Louisville Slugger SL13AXL - 10? Which is more balanced, which has a bigger sweet spot, and which has more pop? Thanks
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is going to be slightly more balanced than the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack XL: SL13AXL Senior bat. The TPX Attack has a 2 3/4 in barrel compared to the 2 5/8 on the CF5. They are going to have very similar pop and performance.
I know it is just a baseball bat, but does the CF5 chip too easily for the price? Or is that normal?
Concerning the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat, or any other bat for that matter, graphics/paint chipping off is normal wear and tear.
Wondering if CF5 continues to be legal in Pony for 2013? Pony rulebook states something along the line of bats being legal if they are "round." I ask this because the head of the bat is flat vs round.
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is legal in PONY for 2013. The only "flat" bats are training bats. The "round" is referring to the barrel of the bat.
Will the yellow dimpled balls used in most batting cages damage this bat?
We do not recommend using composite bats such as the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls. They are very dense and can damage the composite materials.
I asked question below on drop 8 vs. drop 10 for barrel size. I meant the sweet spot. Is the drop 8 bigger or longer than the drop 10?
The sweet spot is the same for the -8 and the -10.
Hi, I'm trying to decide between the -8 and -10 31" CF5 Senior League for my 13 yo son. What factors should I consider in trying to decide the drop? As a 12 yo he used the Little League approved 2011 CF4 31" and had 15 HRs in 21 games so he's a bit of a power hitter.
A -5 to -8 bat is most common for a 13 year old player (especially if they are a power hitter). At the High School level, he will have to use a -3 bat, so the closer you get to that size, the better success he'll have when transitioning to a -3 Adult bat. What you want to look at is: 1)The length and weight of his current bat, 2)His swing speed with that size, 3)His bat control with size. If he had good swing speed and good bat control with his 31" 20 oz. CF4, then a move up to a 31" -8 bat would be recommended and better for him before he transitions to a -3 bat in the coming years.
Does the -8 have a bigger barrel diameter than the -10 in regards to the 2013 DeMarini CF5?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat in both the -8 and -10 will have a barrel diameter of 2 5/8".
Hi... my son is 5'2" and 100 lbs. He used a 2011 31/18 Voodoo with moderate success last season. He played on a Bronco rules travel team last year and they be moving to Pony this year. I believe the bat (being end loaded) was just slightly too big/unbalanced for him last season. My question is, based on his height/weight and info provided, do feel that the 30/20 or 31/21 would be a better fit for him given the better balance of this bat.... Thanks.
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League is more balanced than the Voodoo, so we would recommend the 31" 21 oz.
I Bought this bat for my son recently and he has yet to hit with it. I noticed a rattle in the handle area, as if something loose is floating around inside the handle. Will this affect the performance of this bat?
It will not affect the integrity or the performance of the bat. If it is something that is bothering you, here is the DeMarini Warranty phone line: 800-937-2287. You can call them and have your receipt ready and they can set up your replacement. If you have any other questions about your 2013 CF5 please let us know.
Does the 2013 CF5 DXCFX come in a 28/18?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat is not manufactured in a 28" 18 oz. model.
My son will be playing in a Juniors Division this year. According to LL website, It says the bat can be no more than 2 5/8" and must meet BBCOR standards and since it is not the Seniors division can have a drop more than -3. This bat (and others) seem to have the USSSA stamp. I'm confused with the difference of BBCOR and USSSA stamps as it relates to the Junior Division. Can you explain difference?
The only bats that are eligible for BBCOR certification are Adult -3 bats. No other bat will carry a BBCOR stamp. USSSA stamps are only featured on Youth Small Barrel and Youth Big Barrel baseball bats, and Adult bats are not eligible for USSSA stamps.
There are two differing answers as to whether or not this bat is approved for Babe Ruth. Can you please clarify? Not sure I want to invest in a bat that my 11 1/2 year old can only use for one year.
The Cal Ripken baseball Division only allows 2 1/4 inch barrels. Babe Ruth ages 13-15 division only allows composite bats if they are BBCOR certified. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League will not be legal in either of these two divisions.
My 12 year old is currently using the cf5 2 1/4 30/19. Would the 31/21 new CF5 big barrel be a problem for him or should we go with the 30/20 big barrel?
Your son should have no problem swinging a 31" 21oz DeMarini CF5. Over the next couple years he is going to gradually increase in weight until he gets to high school, so it is better to start him off now.
Is this bat certified and marked BBCOR.50? My son goes into Babe Ruth this year and wants this bat but I don't want to buy a bat and its not legal per the Babe Ruth League regulations.
No. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX is not BBCOR certified. Only Adult bats are eligible for BBCOR certification. This is not an Adult bat.
Do you know when the 2014 line will be released?
Unfortunately, at this time we just do not have that information. If you would like to call DeMarini here is their phone number: 800-937-2287.
Does the 2013 DeMarinin CF5 Senior League come in a 33 inch? My son will be 12 soon. He is 5'6'' and 150-155 pounds. From the chart on your website, he should be swinging a 33". He has a lot of power and good bat speed.
Unfortunately the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League does not come in a 33". Typically you will only find 33" Senior League bats in -5 length to weight ratios.
I am looking for a good big barrel bat for my 12 year old son. He is small for his age and I am looking for a very balanced bat. I've read the CF5 and Easton S1 are well balanced. Do you think these would be a good fit? I'm open to any other suggestions as well. Thanks.
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX and the 2013 Easton S1 are very balanced and would be excellent choices for a smaller player.
my son recently swung the Vexxum DXVXR and liked it however prefers a 2 piece full composite bat. is the CF5 the best option? is it more balanced than the Vexxum? or are there other bats to consider?
If you're son has previously use DeMarini, and prefers a two-piece composite bat, then the DeMarini CF5 would be the best choice for your son.
We play in cold weather from time to time. Will this crack the CF5?
Only if you over-use it in temperatures below 55 degrees. You just need to make sure you limit how much it is used in these temperatures and do not let your bat be used by other players on the team.
Is this bat BBCOR certified?
No, the Demarini CF5 senior league model is not BBCOR certified. BBCOR models will be listed as "Adult" and will only be available in a -3 drop. Here is the link for the CF5 BBCOR: http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-demarini-cf5-bbcor--dxcfc-adult/15465/

The 2013 DeMarini CF5 would be an excellent choice. It has a very light swing weight and it is also very balanced. It would be a great fit.
I'm looking for an end loaded bat (youth senior league), for my 12 year old son. What would be your top 3 end loaded bats? Also, he's 5'4" & 155 pounds. Would you recommend a 31" or 32" bat? He's pretty strong.
A 32" would be the suggested length for your son. The weight would depend on your sons bat speed. The DeMarini Voodoo, Easton XL1, or the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID3 would be some of the highest performing end loaded bats.
im a 6 foot 2 250 pound 13 year old and it is my first year in fedball is this a good bat for it?
A -10 bat like the 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX is too small for a player of your age and size. I -5 bat would be a better option.
Im 12yrs old and im 5ft 7in. Last year i used the 2012 Easton S3 and really liked it, but next year I'd really like to try a fully composite bat so i thought the Demarini cf5 would be a good choice. Would it???
Yes. The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX is a good choice as it has great pop.
How do I break in this bat?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League will require a break-in period of 150-200 swings off a tee or soft toss. You also need to rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch to break-in the composite evenly.
Is the big barrel 2013 DeMarini CF5 -10 fully composite?
Yes, the 2013 DeMarini CF5 is a two-piece fully composite bat.
I'm looking for a balanced bat (youth senior league), for my 12 year old son who will play travel ball this year. He does not like end loaded bats. What would be your top 3 balanced weighted bats?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5, Easton S1, or the Marucci Cat 5 are some of the most balanced bats on the market.
Is the MOI on the 2013 Demarini CF5 lower than the Easton S3?
The MOI on the 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S3 will be similar.
Is the 2013 DeMarini CF5 similar in balance to the Easton S3. Is the only big different composite vs alloy?
Both the 2013 DeMarini CF5 and the Easton S3 will both be balanced bats. Beyond the CF5 being composite and the Easton S3 an alloy, the CF5 will be a two-piece bat whereas the S3 will be a one-piece bat.
My 12 year old is 4'9" and 75 lbs soaking wet. He's got better than average bat speed and is a contact hitter. He's swung a 2 1/4" Easton Omen with success and is moving to a big barrel. Is this the bat for him?
The 2013 DeMarini CF5 would be a very good choice for him. It is more balanced than the Easton Omen, great for increasing bat speed.
I'm looking for a 30" 20 oz. 2013 DeMarini CF5: DXCFX Senior League bat. Are they made or just out of stock?

My son is 9. 49" and 53lbs. Currently has Easton S2 -13 28"/15oz. Contact hitter. Looking for the right bat. Either Voodoo or CF5. Which would be best?
If he has had previous success with the Easton S2, which is a two-piece hybrid bat, I would absolutely recommend sticking with a bat similar in design. That would be the DeMarini Voodoo as it is also a two-piece hybrid bat.
My son is around 5' 8" and 200 pounds with incredible bat speed. Hes wants to use a high performance bat. Does this bat come in a bbcore senior model and what would you recomend the lenth and weight for my son.
There are no Senior League bats that are BBCOR approved. Only Adult bats are eligible for BBCOR certification. The 2013 DeMarini CF5 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult bat is the one you're looking for. Based on his height and weight, a 33" model is recommended.

My son currently uses a 2-1/4" CF5, 30-19. He wants to try a big barrel. Looking at the 2013 CF5 (-10), or the Louisville Slugger Z1000 (-12). Which do you think would better suit a lead-off/contact-hitter type batter? He's a tad under 5' tall, 75 lbs. Thanks.
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type or brand of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to continue to have success at the plate. Thus, the CF5 would be the top recommendation in a 30" model.

By constructing the CF5 using their new TR3 F.L.O. Composite, DeMarini has successfully created their lightest swinging bat yet. TR3 F.L.O. This creates a more compact carbon that enables DeMarini to make the new CF5 lighter and stronger than ever before.
