Great bat Mark Delgado player

Pros: I just got this bat at the easton factory. My dad works for them and he got to bring a mako home so I could test it. Wow. This bat is amazing. It feels like evenly spaced bat. The swing speed on it is amazing. With a great feel and a big sweet spot this bat takes 2014. The bottom line is this bat just changed easton history.

Bad Bat Eric player

Pros: Grip was nice and the vibration was good. It looks nice but thats about it.

Cons: Felt terrible when i was hitting with it. It had no pop whatsoever. My team and i got this bat to try out for our season and everyone hated it. They would have rather use wood over the Mako. You spend way too much for the bat anyway. You could buy a different bat that is better for half the cost. Sorry Easton but this bat wasn't good.

Amazing MakoMan12 player

Pros: This bat is just simply great. It is a mixture of the S1 and the Xl1 it's as light if not lighter than the CF5 the barrel is massive and the sweet spot is huge it has a great feel and Easton has just made bat of the year.

Good Bat So Far Mark parent

Pros: Color Sound I bought this bat for my son and he seems to really like it he used an Easton XL2 -8 in the spring as a 13 year old so I wanted to get him use to swinging something a little heavier in the fall. We went through about 100+ swings of soft toss the night he got it and it has a cool sound to it. He use it in a game last night and went 3for3 one ball hit the fence on a line drive. Did I see a $450 difference in the way the ball jumps off this bat compared to the XL2? No.. I will write another review after he uses it a little longer.

The Perfect Creation Anthony parent

Pros: My son just started swinging a drop 3 so I thought he would struggle at the plate. Going from a -9 to a -3 is a big difference but he truly raked with the Mako. He pulled his first two hits and held his own. Based on his feedback, this bat is well balanced with tons of pop out of the wrapper.

Great Bat Overall James Bendy parent

Pros: This bat has a nice sweet spot. The ball jumps off the bat. One can still get a decent result with ball flight distance even if not his square. It is very well balanced. The grip is nice. The handle feels comfortable. Break in time (approx. 120 hits) appears to be less than the S Series alloy bats that Easton produces. Very nice sound when hit solid. Nice paint design sets it apart from others. The bar has been set in the next generation BBCOR bats.

Cons: Cost and finding yourself being selfish and no longer allowing other teamates to use your bat as you have in past years.

Pros: Appearance looks sharp. Nice color combination. Get's your attention. Feels Great. Feels balanced for an end loaded bat. Lot's of Pop. There was a weird high pitched sound of the bat in the beginning of the break in process. It will get better. It's a Easton.

Cons: Everyone wants to use the bat. It's a bummer.....The grips are too thin. I will have to change this out soon. Pricey.

Not bad too expensive for what you get Markus player

Pros: This bat has a similar feel to the demarini cf5 and has great pop. The weight of the bat seems like it should be. I am a 6'5 eighth grader and this is a good bat for power hitters.

Cons: This bat is way over priced for what you get. It is just like the cf5 which is a lot cheaper than this bat. The vibration on the bat is horrible to, so definitely use batting gloves if you chose to purchase this bat.

DA MAKO Dude from the west coast player

Pros: i am able to get this bat through the plate faster then the cf6. unlike the cf6 i can get a little more pop out of the bat because of the bat speed i get from it i make better contact then i have and have been getting the most power then ever before. I was able to swing and try this bat out at a bat wars and this bat was easily my favorite out of the Demarrini bats as well and Combat and Marrucci bats.

Cons: the price is very high but so far it has been 100% worth it my only advice is test it out before buying make sure you like it and it works for you everyone has different abilitys.

Pros: It has good pop about the same as the cf5 but good balance and good sweet spot.

Cons: It is way expensive for being almost exactly the same as the cf5.. the cf6 is way better the whole barrel is a good sweet spot and the cf6 is only 400$ and is way better.. this is a good bat don't get me wrong but if u want to get the best out of your money I would recommend the cf6

Moeball

Pros: I'm a freshman with insane bat speed and play at the top level in baseball. I didn't want the XL1 because I'm not a fan of endloaded bats, and its not really endloaded, and I didn't want the S1 because I already have the bat speed, so I would always be early. I got this bat and it is basically a balanced XL1 with the S1 handle. Best of both worlds. Get this bat if you're a line drive hitter and you can occasionally put some over the wall.

Cons: Price, but what'd you expect? This is a balanced XL1 with the S1 handle. Get it

Pros: Got to demo this bat for a game this fall with my high-school, has the pop and barrel size/shape of the XL1 but is as balanced if not more so than the S1. This combination helps a lot especially as a smaller player to hit balls more effectively and harder.

best and lightest bbcor bat on the market esb608 player

Pros: this bat is all weighted in the handle so that allows the player to feel like that bat weight is close to nothing. sure this bat might have a little vibration when you hit it below or above the sweetspot but dont take that as a bad thing because when you square the ball right on the barrel on contact you will feel it and know its going a long way. this is the best bat ive ever owned and my two previous bats were a marucci elite bbcor and a voodoo bbcor and this bat blows both out of the water by far. ive never swung a bat like this one. i went 3-3 today with a double two singles and 3 rbis. you cant go wrong with this bat. well done easton

Cons: it is the most expensive bat to hit the market and 450$ is alot but in my opinion it is more than worth it

Player, Coach, Scout, and Parent. 30 years in BB. Sam coach

Pros: Probably an excellent bat. Easton offers quality equipment. That said, anyone can write a review on this forum, even if you haven't ever swung this bat. What you are seeing here are a lot of kids writing a review that haven't even picked up this bat stating how they went 4 for 4, 3 homeruns, and raised their average 100pts. Really?

Cons: Remember: It takes talent, proper coaching, hard work, and heart. Nothing will replace that, not even a magical bat. As often said: It's not the arrow, it's the Indian.

Great Bat. Off to a great start. DP parent

Pros: Son is playing 50/70 intermediate and BBCOR is required. After using drop 10 and going to a -3 my son was worried. He tried several bats and settled for the Mako 31/28. He's 5'1" and 100 lbs, it took some time in the batting cage to get comfortable. His coach of thee years watched closely. Game one, a single, double and triple for 6 RBIs. Make sure to loosen up, the pop of this bat is worth the big price.

Cons: None if ok with spending more.

Pros: the easton mako is no doubt a good bat and i would not think twice about getting it. if it was not 450 bucks. no bat is worth that much money, especially a brand that hasnt come out with anything fantastic lately. i just got a grab bag three bbcorr bats for 100 bucks and i got an exogrid plasma and marucci team. all three of those bats compete with the mako. anyone who is stupid enough to spend that much money hoping they are going to get results needs to get a wood bat and go to the batting cages and camp out there for a week. its not the arrow its the indian.

Pros: My son feels like the bat is balanced.

Cons: This bat lacks pop. I hate to say it because my son is real down about it. Not to mention I just spent all the money on this bat. All the kids on his travel team have this bat. It is definitely the "in" bat to have right now. But it is now clear to me that his Overlord crushes the Mako.

Best Easton Dylan player

Pros: Last year I was in 8th grade and used Xl1 -5 which was a great bat. This year since I'm a little small for a freshmen I tried using the S1 for the first half of the season, that was a decent bat but I found that if I didnt hit the ball off the sweet spot the ball would die. I got this bat and it was great. I went from hitting .120 in the first half with the S1 to .380 with the mako. This bat has a lot of pop for a bbcor and was a great in betweener because it had the balance of an S1 but the pop and forgiveness of the XL1 I would recommend this bat to anyone in high school regardless of strength, height, and weight.

Cons: The only thing I found was that since I'm a lefty it sort of messes up the grip of the bat because it separates the tape on the bottom. I retaped it and it was fine after that

Pros: Has good pop takes a while to break in, well balanced with a large sweet spot. Little vibration felt when not hit in the sweet spot.

Cons: Not worth the money at all, I hit balls farther and harder with a nike thunder bbcor than this bat. The grip wears off fairly easily. My teammate has the s1 which has the same pop but BBCOR composite bats just aren't the same anymore as the old BESR bats were. ALUMINUM is the best option

Pros: Feels great, for a contact hitter. Hit about three or four home runs. Which is terrible for me.

Pros: There is not enough good to say about this bat. I got it a couple of weeks ago and so far I've hit mostly BP. The mako is one of the most balanced bats I've ever swung. Plus, the sweet spot is huge. It really reminds me of the old BESR bats. To add, the grip is great, the sounds is that classic composite ping, there is little vibration on off-center hits, the graphics are sick, and the swing speed is amazing. I cant wait to drop some bombs with this bat in summer ball. Definitely a great bat. Pitchers will fear you if you step into the box with this shark!

Pros: Great amount of pop for how light the bat is. Insanely fast swing speed. Great for every hitter. Has a massive barrel, even if you don't hit the ball on the sweet spot, it still goes far and there is no vibration. I really like this bat because i can feel the ball more and tell where i'm hitting the ball on the bat, without the vibration. Design looks great.

Cons: The only con i can think of is; the paint is not the best as it can scratch and there are tiny div its in it after hitting a ball hard, but it's no big deal.

Pros: Great balance Great pop Easy break in

Cons: Grip falls apart Everybody wants to use it I have 2 games left in my season and I bought this bat at the beginning of the season and it is already starting to feel dead, wish it would have lasted another year, probably going to switch to an axe next year, my advice is if you buy a Mako don't let anybody use it because it will not last nearly as long

Take Care of It! Damien player

Pros: Very good bat. It swings extremely light and has good pop to it. Has no vibration whatsoever. Great for guys looking for base hits. If you're looking for dingers, I'd go with the XL1.

Cons: As far as durability goes, this isn't one of Easton's best showcases. The paint chips very easily if you're not careful with it. It shouldn't be too bad if your no throwing it around the dugout, into fences, etc. It marks extremely easy, though.

Perfect for contact hitters. Preston Germer player

Pros: This bat has decent pop and fast bat speed but for power hitters I wouldn't recommend it. Though its not a power hitters bat I can still get some good rips out of it.

Cons: Took me over 400 hits with this bat to break in.

Worth a shot Joe B player

Pros: I'm 18 and have been using Easton's since I was 10. I've had great success in the past and this year. This year ive been using the yellow XL1 and have had great success but I feel that has lost its pop so time for a new bat. Ive only had this bat for 2days but off a tee the bat has great pop with only 70 swings in id say. You know what they say, "History repeats itself" and im hoping for just that

Cons: Cant 100% say that It will be the best bat as of now but you can only hope

Pros: Great bat, giant sweet spot, AMAZING BALANCE. I don't know about the durability since I haven't had it for a very long time BUT it is a great legit bat and is well worth the price. P.S. I have the 2015 version but it is pretty much the same.

Not Worth the High Price Ken Strid parent

Pros: No bat sting.

Cons: Easton Mako BBCOR simply does not hit as far as as the lighter Mako bats. My son has used -9 and -7 Mako bats and thought they were awesome. Now that he's 14, he's required to use a -3 BBCOR. I had to get him another bat, the Easton S3. The heavier BBCOR Mako does not perform as well as his BBCOR Easton S3. My kid blasts the ball with the S3. He just hits lazy fly balls to the outfielder's gloves with the Mako. I don't know if composite bats at -3 perform as well as -3 aluminum. He wants to like this bat because of his past success with a Mako. But it just is not the best BBCOR option. His team mates agree when they have tried both of his bats in batting practice. The Easton S3 hits harder and further.

It really depends on the league the player is in. Many of the older divisions of USSSA permit the use of a BBCOR bat. BBCOR is the performance standard that regulates bats used in High School and College (and sometimes Middle School). To be certain whether a BBCOR bat is permitted in your league, you would need to check with a League Director.

I sometimes have trouble getting the bat through the zone quick enough. Which bat would you think would benefit me the most? When is the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord coming in? getonmylevel09
The DeMarini Voodoo Overlord will be in around January 1, 2014. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult would be my pick for you. It will have a slightly lighter swing weight and feel more balanced compared to the Overlord.
Brandon
Would this bat be good for a power hitter that hits more for average? Colin
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be great for a power guy or a contact guy. The extended barrel and light swing weight of this bat will help you hit for high averages and more power.
Brandon
I have been using the COMbat Portent, which is one-piece. Will I get more pop with a two-piece bat like the MAKO, or is it about the same? Jim
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR and the 2014 COMBAT Portent will feature top of the line composite materials. Therefore, you will not see a major difference in the pop. The main difference will be in the swing. With the one-piece bat, the swing will be a little more stiff. The two-piece will give you a little more flex during the swing.
Justin R.

Will the Mako have more pop than the Xl1 or the 5150? yaboydoe
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult will have the lightest swing weight and a bigger sweet spot. The Mako is a two-piece fully composite bat. The 2014 Rawling 5150 is a one-piece alloy bat with a balanced swing weight. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece composite, but will have an endloaded swing weight.
Tori
Between the BBCOR S1 and MAKO, which is more balanced or swings lighter? Billy
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult has a lower M.O.I. and will have a lighter swing weight.
John H
I am a freshman. I'm 6'1" 175 lbs. What would be the best size for me? Kyle
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be recommended in a 33" 30 oz. size at your height and weight.
Brandon
How does the flex in this bat compare to the old BESR speed series bat? johhny basebakk
The flex on the Easton S1 will be more similar to the BESR model than the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult.
Tori
Would you recommend the MAKO or the CF6? Baseball
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult are going to be very comparable bats. The MAKO will have a bigger sweet spot than the CF6, but the CF6 has the D-Fusion handle technology to eliminate vibration and extend its sweet spot more than previous models.
Jason
I am 5'7" and 105 lbs. This is my first year using a big barrel, last year I swung a 32 20 bat. I am a contact hitter with average bat speed, what size bat should I use? baseball
Based on your height and weight, you should use a 29" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult. For more information on sizing visit our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
My son 5'4'', 95lbs, and just transitioning to BBCOR. Would the S1, S2, or the Mako be better? He is a fast swing type hitter. Andy
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult will be the lightest swing weight of the three. If he is transitioning from a heavier bat, this may be the best choice. If he is used to a heavier bat, but still wants a balanced bat, the S1 would be a good choice.
Tori
Can a special 33.5'' be ordered? Steve
Unfortunately, Easton only produces the bat in 31'', 32'', 33'', and 34''.
Tori
I'm 5'8", 136 lbs, and 14 year old. Should I get a 2014 S1, Xl1, or MAKO? Uribe34
The Easton MAKO is going to have the lightest swing weight of the three. The Easton S1 will also be a balanced choice. The Easton XL1 is end loaded and is better suited for power hitters.
Tori
I'm 5'8" 185 lbs. I'm not a power hitter but I hit a lot of line drives. I like alloy, but I liked my S1 last year. So I could go either way. Should I get the Mako, S1 or S3? Grant
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat is a two-piece fully composite design like the Easton S1. If you were successful with that model, I would recommend staying with the same type of model.
Aubrey
I am 5'4" and around 110 lbs. I need to use a BBCOR -3 this coming year. I am a lead off hitter (singles, doubles) that occasionally hits with power. Is the new Easton Mako a good choice? Does it come in a 30''? Thad
The smallest length the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is available in is a 31''. It is going to have a light swing weight for increased speeds. The two-piece composite will be a good choice for a contact hitter.
Tori
I'm 6'1 and around 210 at age 14, I'm a big power hitter, and I need a good power bat. Is the MAKO a better bat for a contact hitter or a power hitter? jbRavioli
The Easton MAKO is a great option for both a contact hitter and a power hitter. The MAKO is a very well balanced model which generally the contact hitters prefer while still having a massive sweet spot for the power hitters. Some power hitters prefer to have a more end loaded swing weight, which if that is the case with you then the Easton XL series would be a good option.
John
I'm 13, and am 5'8'' and 124 lbs. I'm a clean up batter and I think I'm ready for a BBCOR bat. What would be a better bat for me? A CF6 or a MAKO? Devin Combs
Any first time BBCOR bat user would be very lucky to have either bat. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult will have an extended barrel design and a very light swing weight. The new 2014 DeMarini CF6 will also feel very light and balanced. It will feature DeMarini's new D-Fusion handle to eliminate almost all vibration upon contact.
Brandon
Would this bat suit me more than the DeMarini Vexxum 2014? I am a line drive contact hitter with some power. Autto
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult would be a great option for you. Like the DeMarini Vexxum NVS, the MAKO is very balanced. The main difference is the MAKO will have an extended sweet spot and is fully composite in design.
Justin R.
Last year I used the 2013 model of the cf5 as a BBCOR. I did very well with it. I am 5'4 120 pounds and a contact hitter with some power. I bat lead off. Should I use the mako or the cf6? jacob21
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult are going to be very comparable bats. They are both balanced, two-piece fully composite bats. It will come down to preference in manufacturer and what you have had success with in the past.
Jason
I am 5'9'' and 180 pounds. I can't decide between the MAKO and the CF6. They both look so nice, but I need some help. Brandon
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the DeMarini CF6 are going to be very comparable. The CF6 features a D-Fusion handles which breaks up vibration to the handle to reduce sting. However, this D-Fusion handle is going to cause it to feel slightly stiffer than the MAKO.
Tori
What would be the best bat for a first year BBCOR user. I am 5' 7" and 120 lbs. I'm a contact hitter with some power. I swung a 31" 26 oz. XL1 last year and did well with it. bjh
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be a great choice for a first time BBCOR user. You'd get the extended barrel design along with a very balanced swing weight.
Brandon
Would you recommend this bat over the DeMarini CF6 or the 2014 Marucci Black? nick22
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat is designed similar to the DeMarini CF6. Both will have a two-piece fully composite design. Both will also be very balanced. The 2014 Marucci Black will feature a seamless hybrid design. It will have a composite handle and alloy barrel. All three bats would be great for a high school or college BBCOR hitter.
Brandon
Would you recommend the Easton MAKO, Rawlings Trio, or Rawlings VELO for a contact hitter with power? r
All three bats would be ideal for a contact hitter with power. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat will have an extended barrel design and a very balanced swing weight.
Brandon
What is the difference between the Easton MAKO BBCOR and the Easton S1 BBCOR? N
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult features a longer barrel and larger sweet spot than the S1. The MAKO is also made from the new, TCT Composite material which gives it a very light swing weight. Both are two-piece composite bats that are balanced, but the MAKO is Easton's lightest and highest quality model.
Mac
Will the price of this bat ever go down? Tanner Baseball
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult will be that price until Easton lowers their pricing on it.
Jason
What would you recommend for a half power and half contact hitter? baseball 48
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is a great option for a power hitter and a contact hitter. The TCT Thermo Composite provides a massive sweet spot and a balanced swing weight.
Jason

For your height and weight we would suggest a 31" in the Easton MAKO for you.
John
Does the MAKO have a break in period? ryan
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult will require a break-in period. It is suggested to take 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs.
Jason
I am 5'10 and about 180, what size MAKO should I get? BaseballGod17
We would suggest a 33" in the Easton MAKO for a player your size.
John
I am about 5'4" or 5'5" and 155 lbs. What size of this bat would be good for me? matty_j
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be recommended in a 31" 28 oz. at your current size.
Brandon
Which MAKO is a -3 or drop 3? matty_j
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat will be the bat that comes in the -3 sizing.
Brandon
My son is 5' 5" about 110 lbs and in the 8th grade. He will be playing Juniors as well as travel ball. What size bat do you recommend? sonia
Based on his height and weight, the recommended size in a 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is 30". If he can swing the heavier weight a 31" model will work as well.
Jason
My son is 15, 6' and 158 lbs. He wants a new Easton MAKO bat for high school. Are there two styles of bats or just one? boomer
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is only available in one color and design.
Justin R.
I'm 12 years old, 5' 9", and weigh 160 pounds. I'm starting to play for my middle school team, and we have to use -3 bats. What length should I buy? And should I get a MAKO or a XL1? Seige
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" or 32" bat. If you already have to use BBCOR at 12 years old, I would definitely recommend the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult because of its very balanced swing weight. The more balanced the bat is, the easier it is for you to control. This is an important characteristic in any bat, especially your first BBCOR model.
Mac
I'm 14 years old, 5'3", and 100 pounds. I need an Easton BBCOR 31" -3 bat. Which one should I get? Tyler Murrah
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult would be a good choice. It is going to be light weight and very balanced. It has a slightly longer barrel than the Easton S series. The XL series has the longest barrel, but it is end loaded and best suited for a power hitter.
Tori
Is it true that the MAKO has a limited number of hits? Trevor
All bats, including the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult, have a useful life and will eventually decline in performance. The composite barrel of this MAKO should perform at a high level for a longer period of time than an alloy model, but it is difficult to accurately estimate the life of a bat.
Mac
My son is 5'11" and weighs 165 pounds. He is a power hitter and a home run hitter. Is the MAKO the right bat that suits his needs as a power hitter? Would you recommend a different bat? J.R.
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is going to be balanced with a light swing weight. Power hitters normally prefer an end loaded bat. The Easton XL series is end loaded and would be a good choice for a power hitter.
Tori
Would the 2014 Easton Mako BBCOR, the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR, or the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR be better for me? I'm 6'2", weigh 165 pounds, and am 15 years old. I have very quick bat speed. Troy6Trojans
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the S1 are both going to be balanced and best suited for a contact hitter. The MAKO will have a slightly lighter swing weight and a have a slightly longer barrel than the S1. The XL1 will be end loaded and better suited for a power hitter.
Tori
Is this bat or the 2014 S1 more balanced? Noah
The 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) will be more balanced than the 2014 Easton S1 (BB14S1) model.
John
I'm 97.5 lbs, and I'm 5' tall. I am turning 13 in a week. What size and weight MAKO BBCOR bat should I use? Brody
At your size a 29" BBCOR bat is recommended. The smallest MAKO BBCOR is a 31" 28 oz. Hopefully, that would work for you.
Brandon
Hello, my son is 6' 1" and weighs around 200 lbs. He has always been a power hitter and likes to drive the ball deep. He did hit 1 home run with the Easton S3 that he has now broken (end cap popped off). I am wondering if the MAKO or XL1 would be a better fit for him? BBDad
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be a great option. It will have a balanced swing weight and an extended barrel design. I do see more true power guys loving the Easton XL1. It will have a barrel heavy end load to help with the powerful feel.
Brandon
I am 5'2'' and 130 lbs. What size should I get? Blazerbaseball
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult in a 31''.
Tori
How will this bat feel compared to last year's S1? Is the sweet spot located more towards the handle compared to last year's S1? skip
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult has a slightly longer barrel than the S1. This gives it a slightly larger sweet spot.
Tori
I am 6' and weigh 150 lbs. Should I get a 32" or 33" MAKO? G
Given your size, I suggest going with the 33" model of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult.
Marcus
Is this bat end loaded, or is the weight more spread out? Zach
The Easton MAKO BB14MK is a very balanced design.
John
What size would you recommend for a 6' 140 lbs 16 year old? baseball bat
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult.
Jason
Am 5' 7" and 110 pounds. Which size would you recommend for me? Bmial
Based on your height and weight, our Bat Coach tool recommends a 30" model. However, the 31" size is the smallest that the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is produced in. The balanced swing weight of the MAKO should help make the 31" feel lighter than other options.
Mac
Does the MAKO have a lot of flex when you make contact or is it stiff like the 2012 5150 Velo? ciaran
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is a two-piece fully composite bat andhas more flex than the one-piece all alloy 2012 5150 Velo.
Jason
Will a 33 inch Easton MAKO feel lighter than the New Marucci Black in a 32 inch? swingman
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the 2014 Marucci Black BBCOR: MCBB14 Adult are both two-piece bats with extended barrels, but because the Marucci Black has an alloy barrel the MAKO has a slightly lighter feel.
Jason
Even though the -5 XL1 is lighter than the MAKO, which one has a lighter feel when you swing it because the XL1 is end loaded? A
The -5 XL1 would still have a lighter swing weight than the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult even though it is end loaded.
Tori
I'm a senior catcher and first basemen in high school. I have moderate power and about 6'1'' 155 pounds. I normally use a 32/29 but I may switch to a 33''. I am considering the Easton Mako, Easton S1, or Demarini cf6. What do you suggest? Bradley
The Easton MAKO and DeMarini CF6 will both have a lighter swing weight than the Easton S1. The CF6 will feel slightly stiffer than the MAKO because it has the D-Fusion handle to help eliminate vibration.
Tori
What size should a 5'5" 114lb 13 year old use? eastonfreak
Our charts would suggest a 30" would be ideal for a player with your height and weight. Please feel free to check out our "Bat Coach" for all of your sizing questions. http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John
How much vibration does this bat have? chooch
Compared to other composite bats, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) will have less vibration. Easton's new TCT composite helps to reduce vibration.
Tori
I am a high school league player and have looked at the MAKO and the Rawlings Trio. The price point of the two are not to far apart so how do they compare? I am 6'4" and 170 pounds and a 1st baseman which one would you think to be the best for me to use? I use a 33" 30 oz. now should I be using a 34" 31 oz.? 3/4's
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is a two-piece fully composite bat with an extended barrel. The 2014 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR: BBTRIO Adult is three-piece bat that has a composite handle, alloy barrel and composite end cap. Both bats are very balanced and designed for a contact hitter. Based on your height and weight we recommend a 34' 31 oz.
Kara
Which bat has a larger sweet spot? The MAKO, Overlord, or the CF6? Also, which of these bats would have the most pop. bombsquad
Honestly, all three bats will have some of the best pop and performance available on the market today. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and Voodoo Overlord will feature a longer, more extended barrel design. This can help with the sweet spot size. The CF6 will have a normal sized barrel design and be very balanced in swing weight.
Brandon
I'm 14 and I've have swung the DeMarini Voodoo (black and white but it kind of feels to much end loaded but I'm not the big dude who hits bombs over 350 but I have great power and contact but I usually keep the ball in play and i want one that the ball just goes flying off the bat without as much end loaded. which one should I get? I swing a 32" 29 The mako /overlord / voodoo paradox/ or the cf6 Don't know which one
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the DeMarini CF6 are both balanced two-piece bats. They are designed for a contact hitter. The DeMarini Voodoo and the DeMarini Overlord are both end loaded bats, best for a power hitter.
Kara
What's the biggest difference between the Easton MAKO and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo Paradox? I'm a solid power and contact hitter looking for a bat that will give the most pop with durability. Dre
The Easton MAKO is going to be extremely light weight and balanced. The DeMarini Voodoo is going to be end loaded.
Tori
I have been comparing the 2014 MAKO and the 2014 Rawlings Trio and have not been able to decide which would be better. I am a contact hitter and would like to know which has the bigger sweet spot and quicker bat speed? nate
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the 2014 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR: BBTRIO Adult are both very high performing bats. The MAKO has a slightly longer barrel for an extended sweet spot. Both bats are similar in balance.
Kara
I am 6 foot and 150 lbs. I was wondering what size I should get? I am a power and contact hitter. I am trying to decide between this and the CF6. G
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend a 33" bat. The Easton MAKO and DeMarini CF6 are both designed very similarly. They will have a two-piece fully composite design. Both will also be very balanced and feature a lighter swing weight. The CF6 will feel slightly stiffer than the MAKO because it has the D-Fusion handle to help eliminate vibration.
Tessa
Do composite bats "run out of pop"? If so after how many hits? A
Any composite bat, including the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult, can lose its pop over time. The more the bat is used, the quicker the bat could lose its pop. Using a wood bat or a bat you don't use in a game can increase the lifespan of the bat. There is no exact number of hits that a bat could take and lose its pop, it would be completely dependent upon many variables including usage and weather temperature.
Tessa
In all honesty, would you recommend the MAKO or CF6? max
Both the Easton MAKO and the CF6 will be balanced and light weight. The biggest difference between the two is that the CF6 features a D-Fusion handle to help eliminate vibration. This also causes it to feel more like a one-piece bat.
Tori
Is the MAKO bat legal for use in middle schools in North Carolina? Smash
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be legal and BBCOR certified. There are also MAKO in youth and senior league sizes also.
Brandon
What temperature should I use this bat in? h
We recommend not using the 2014 Easton MAKO in temperatures below 50 degrees. The colder weather makes the ball harder which causes more stress on the composite fibers.
John
Can you use this indoors and what type of baseball can you use? jakert
We recommend using regular baseballs with the Easton MAKO. We recommend not using the yellow dimpled cage balls will cause stress on the composite fibers.
John
I am a 14 year old boy and I am 5'7 and 125 lbs. I can be a power and contact hitter, so I don't know what bat to get the MAKO or the new XL1? Also what size. Please help. Cmprayer22
Based on your size and weight, we recommend a 31" size bat. The Easton XL1 features an extra long barrel and is end loaded with power hitting in mind. The Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK is a combination of the Easton BBCOR S1 and XL1, so it features the speed and balance of the S1 and the extended barrel of the XL1. It is truly the best of both worlds, so if you are both a contact and power hitter, this would be a great option for you.
Tessa L.
I'm 13 and 5'0,100 lbs. Should I start swinging BBCOR bats now, or stay with my -5 Omaha? I'm in 7th grade. dylan
I would recommend sticking with a -5 bat for this year. Next year would be a better option to moving into a BBCOR model.
John
I am a freshman in highschool. I am 14, 5'6 and 130 lbs. My last bat was the 2012 easton s3 bbcor. I am looking for a new 32 inch bat. I am both a power and contact hitter. I am now trying to decyde whether i should get the new 2014 easton s3 bbcor or the Mako. Please give some advice. alemany baseball
Between those two bats, the Mako is going to be the better performer as well as more durable. Being fully constructed of composite material, the Mako will deliver more pop with every swing. The only thing the S3 would have over the Mako is that the S3 can be used in the colder temperatures. The Mako shouldn't be used in temperatures any cooler than 55 degrees.
Derek
As far as performance has this bat lived up to all of the hype? I know the swing weights are different, but performance wise how is this compared to the new voodoo overlord? I like the Ping of the voodoo, and the balance of Easton's and rip it's. I've owned all 3 in the past. Flyer
The 2014 Easton MAKO has been very popular with excellent reviews. It does not have the same ping sound as the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord because it is a full composite. The MAKO and the Voodoo Overlord are going to be two very popular models for 2014. Deciding between these two will be a preference of a balanced swing weight of the MAKO or the slightly end loaded swing weight of the Voodoo Overlord.
John
I am a 150 pound 5'3" 13 year old and I have been looking at the Easton Mako and the demarini overlord I occasionally hit a home run and a triple here and there but this year I struggled with getting the ball in the air. I'm looking for a bat with a large sweet spot and will be able to nock balls out of the 350' fence. What size and bat should I get. stanny1752
We would recommend a 31" model for a player with your height and weight. Both models are great BBCOR models. I would go with the MAKO model because it has a balanced swing weight. The DeMarini Overlord a slight end loaded swing weight.
John
Would the easton mako, rip it air elite, easton s1, or marucci elite have the biggest sweet spot. ben
All of those models will be very well balanced. The Easton MAKO will have the largest sweet spot out of the four.
John
Trying to choose between the MAKO and the Marucci Elite for my son. He is 14 years old, 5'5" and 110 pounds, line drive hitter who needs extra pop to drive balls into the outfield. What would be a better bat for him? JJ
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and the 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR: MCBE14 Adult are both high performing bats. They are both balanced bats, designed for a line drive hitter. The Easton MAKO has a slightly longer barre for an extended sweet spot.
Kara
Is the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK Adult) an end loaded bat? bro
No. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK Adult) is a very well balanced bat.
Damon
Is the MAKO lighter than the 2014 Easton S1 or CF6? Baseball uhh Dude?
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) Adult are very comparable in weight and are two of the lightest swinging bats on the market.
Jason
My son is 11. He is in sixth grade and is about 4' 10" 74 lbs-80 lbs. What BBCOR should I get him to let him use it for a couple of seasons and what size? Bob Of Bobstar
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult. The MAKO uses TCT thermo composite which provides the bat with a balanced swing weight, for increased bat speed, and an extended sweet spot. It is a great bat for players using BBCOR for the first time.
Jason
I'm getting my first BBCOR bat do you recommend the MAKO or S1? Which one is more balanced? Which one lasts longer? bob
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult and 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) Adult are both two-piece composite designs with balanced swing weights. The MAKO has a lighter swing weight than the Easton S1 and also has an extended barrel like the Easton XL1. Both the MAKO and the S1 have similar life spans.
Jason
My son is 13, 7th grade and is on his high school feater team so I need a drop 3 bat. He's about 120 pounds and is looking at the MAKO bat. Should he get it or what Easton bats should he get? baseballdude17
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is a great option for a young player. The balanced feel and extended barrel, is suited for a smaller player making the transition to a BBCOR bat.
Kara
I'm 5'8" and 190 lbs. I normally hit doubles and triples, sometimes I'll hit home runs. Should I go with the Easton MAKO or the DeMarini Overlord? Jman223
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be very balanced and have an extended barrel length. The Voodoo Overlord will be more barrel heavy during the swing weight. At your size, I would swing the MAKO.
Brandon
What's the best way to break in this bat? How long does it normally take? Noah Furrow
To properly break in your 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK), we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work your way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings. It's also important to rotate the bat 1/4" after each swing to ensure that you get complete barrel coverage. For more information regarding breaking in your composite bat, please visit our blog: http://goo.gl/xzVzA3.

The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) requires a break-in period of 150-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss with real baseballs. Start the swing at 50% power and steadily work your way up. The barrel should be rotated ¼' after each swing to assure complete barrel coverage.
Tori
I'm 5'6" and a strong kid. What should I get, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR or the 2014 Easton XL1? johnny
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) features a balance swing weight, typically preferred by contact hitters. The XL1 is an end loaded bat that has the same extended barrel design and larger sweet spot. Both are high performing and very popular models. Ultimately, it would depend on if you would prefer an end loaded bat (like the XL1) or the balanced swing weight of the MAKO.

The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK) Adult has a very balanced swing weight, forgiving feel with its huge sweet spot, and two-piece design. This is the kind of bat that a contact hitter typically gets great results from. A power hitter can really use whatever design they feel comfortable with, so this MAKO would also be a good choice for a power hitter who likes a balanced bat.

Will it be ok to hit off a pitching machine that throws real baseball to break in? Why not the balls wit the holes in them? Amrit
We would recommend around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss with the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK). If using your Easton MAKO in the cage we would recommend using regular baseballs. The yellow dimpled balls are going to be heavier than the regular baseball which would cause more stress on the bat.
John
I am 5'8" and weigh 150 pounds. I used to be a power hitter in little league until I got to the big field, now I am more of a gap hitter. I want to be more of a power hitter, but still have bat speed. Do you recommend the MAKO, S1, Voodoo Overlord, or CF6? Jake
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult. The TCT Thermo composite provides for a lighter swinging bat and faster bat speeds. The MAKO has an extended barrel that provides for a bigger sweet spot and is a great bat for a contact hitter who wants to increase their power.
Jason
My son is a 6'1" 215-220 lbs. high school junior with a swing speed between 85-88 mph with his 33"30 oz. 2012 XL2. Do you recommend going with the MAKO, or go with the 2014 XL1? DJ

The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK) Adult is a great option for both a contact hitter and a power hitter. The MAKO is a very well balanced model which generally the contact hitters prefer while still having a massive sweet spot for the power hitters. Some power hitters prefer to have a more end loaded swing weight, which if that is the case with you then the Easton XL series would be a good option.
Tessa L.
If I am a 5'6" ball player who loves the power ally and base knocks would you recommend the MAKO 32" or the 33" or the S1? D$
The size of the bat is best determined by a players height and weight. We recommend checking out or bat coach for correct sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/. The extended barrel and balanced two-piece design of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) makes it a great choice for you.
Kara

The main difference between the two bats is the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) has an overall balanced swing weight, while the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) has an end loaded swing weight. Both bats are two-piece, 100% composite bats with an extended barrel design.

I am a thirteen-year old boy, 5'6" and 130 lbs. I have a higher than average bat speed and currently swing a 26 oz bat. Should I invest in the drop 3 mako (31 inch 28 oz) or another bat? Griffin
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult would be a good bat for you to invest in if you plan on playing in any leagues that you will have to use a BBCOR bat. By going up 2 oz there will be a slight weight difference. If you have swung 28 oz bats and are comfortable with those then I would definitely suggest this bat.
Aaron
Will cold temperatures hurt this bat? mm
Yes, colder temperatures can crack composite bats like the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) because the ball becomes more dense. We don't recommend using the bat in temperatures below 55 degrees.
Tori
What is the significant difference between the MAKO and the XL1 besides price and "newness"? My 14 year old loves the XL1 and am looking to buy my 16 year old a bat. Debating between these two probably. Ford
The 2014 Easton MAKO differs from the Easton XL1 in that it is a more balanced model. The XL1 is designed to offer an end loaded feel. They are both constructed as a two-piece fully composite bat with Easton's TCT Thermo Composite Technology.
Patrick
Would the MAKO BBCOR be a good bat for me? I am 11. 27
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult bat would be mandatory for high school and college. I am not sure if you need to swing a BBCOR at your age. If you are required to, the MAKO would be a great choice. It is 100% composite and very balanced.
Brandon
Is the Mako BBCOR better or the 2014 Rawlings Velo? I am 13 and need a 31 inch bat but cant decide between the two bats. ben
The 2014 Rawlings 5150 VELO BBCOR (BBV3) Adult is a One-Piece alloy design and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult uses Easton's TCT Full Composite 2-Piece design. If you are looking for an Alloy I would go with the VELO but if you are looking for a composite then the MAKO would be a great choice as well.
Aaron
I'm 5'8" 190 lbs. and a sophomore. I'm in between a power and a contact hitter. I want bat speed, should I get the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD or the Easton MAKO? Grant
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) is a balanced two-piece bat. It is designed fro a contact hitter that needs to increase their bat speed. The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD is an end loaded bat and best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
I'm a 5' 8" and 190 lbs. I am a contact hitter. I can hit for power, but it's mostly line drives. I can't decide if I want the Easton MAKO or S2. I like alloy, but I hear composite is better. Trev
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult is one of the best bats available. Compared to the Easton S2, it has a lighter swing weight, an extended sweet spot, and higher quality materials. The Easton S2 would be a great option if you prefer to swing an aluminum model.
Justin R.
Is it true that this bat has bad vibration on off centered hits? Be
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult is a two-piece design and should eliminate most vibration to the hands on off centered hits. All bats, no matter the design, can have vibration on off centered hits though.
Jason

Tessa L.
My son is a junior in high school. He is 5'8 and weighs between 175-180 lbs. Weight varies as the season goes along. He has a lot of power and great vision. I'm not sure what size 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) to get him, 32 or 33 inch. Please help. A
Using our Bat Coach, I found that for a player of your son's size, I would recommend the 32"/29 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK). A 33"/30 oz. would be acceptable for him as well, but the 32" would be the size I suggest.
Kelby
My son is 5'8 and weighs approx 125lbs. He has some power but good contact hitter. I'm not sure what size Mako to get him, 32"? He has 31" bats now and feels they are too small. bill

Brandon
Does the easton mako or the demarini cf6 have more pop baseball lover
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult and 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult are both going to be hybrid designs and will produce a lot of power and pop. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult uses TCT thermo composite material and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR: DXCFC Adult will be composed of paradox composite fibers. This technology will be the only difference and is pure personal preference. Both of these bats are top of the line, and will generate momentum with very little sting to the hands. These are both going to produce a lot of pop.
Merritt
Is the Easton MAKO and Easton S1 have the same balanced weight for faster bat speed? Or does the MAKO have a faster bat speed? baseballpromcq
The new TCT Thermo Composite Technology in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult bat allows it to have a larger sweet spot than the S1 but also a lighter swing weight. The MAKO is the most balanced bat in Easton's current product line and should let you achieve higher swing speeds than the S1.
Mac
How long does it take to break this bat in? Tim
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) will come pretty hot out of the wrapper but we recommend hitting off a tee or soft toss approximately 100-200 swings, rotating the barrel ¼ inch every swing.
John H

John
is this bat high school certified boddish
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) will be legal for play in high school.
Tessa L.
Does this bat need a break in period? marty mar
Since this bat is a two-piece composite, we do suggest a break in period. Taking a 100 - 200 hits off a tee or soft-toss. Start at about 40% power and gradually increasing power as you get closer to 150 swings. While rotating the bat a quarter of an inch between each hit to ensure an even break-in.
Zach
I am a senior and have swung both Marucci and Easton. I use a 33" 30 oz. and I do not know what bat to get, the Easton MAKO or the Marucci Elite. Which one is more balanced? Prospect
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Marucci Elite BBCOR (MCBE14) are both very balanced bats. You will not notice a big difference between the two bats.
Kara
Which brand of BBCOR bat is the highest preferred? What is the best bat in the market now? DaKid
Each manufacturer will have different characteristics about their products that will make them more favorable to specific players. It is hard to say which brand is the best, because it ultimately comes down to individual player preference. In terms of balance, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR has been highly rated for its balanced feel and sweet spot. This is a very high quality bat, and is top of the line if you are looking for a good sweet spot.
Merritt

Aaron
I am 15 years old, 5'8 and 200 pounds what size bat should I get? DJ

Bobby
Which allows you to have a faster swing the RIP-IT Air Elite or the Mako? And which would you recommend? Patrick
When comparing the Easton Mako (BB14MK) to the RIP-IT Air Elite (B1403E) both will be very close but since the Easton Mako (BB14MK) will give you more bat speed because it is a two-piece composite compared to the two-piece hybrid design with the RIP-IT Air Elite (B1403E). Both are great bats and very high performing it comes down to the person's taste between material used to construct each bat.
Zach
Which has more pop: the MAKO or RIP-IT Air Elite? pat
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (B14MK) Adult and the RIP-IT Air Elite will have similar pop. The MAKO is a two-piece fully composite bat and will require a break-in period. The RIP-IT Air Elite has a two-piece hybrid design, and because of the alloy barrel, it will be hot out of the wrapper.
Jason
What are the differences between the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR or the 2014 DeMarini CF6? Whipple
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) will be similar in that they are both two-piece fully composite designs with enhanced connection pieces to help reduce sting and vibration. The differences would be that the Mako has a slightly longer barrel for a larger sweet spot and the CF6 is slightly more balanced.
Patrick
What is the recommended temperature for this bat? jbird
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult is for recommended use in 55 degree weather or warmer. However, this is not possible for a lot of people in the country and this bat comes with a full 12 month manufacturers warranty.
Aaron
Just wondering how much pop does this bat really have compared to the new DeMarini Vexxum and OVERLORD? We got hits
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) uses new composite materials that provides a balanced feel with an extended barrel. It is very high performing and durable.
Kara
What's the coldest temperature the MAKO can be used in? bbaseball
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult, in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
I am 13 years old and I am 5 foot 6 and weigh 145 pounds. What size do you recommend? Pepsi
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest the 32 inch length of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Patrick

Patrick
My grandson is at the end of his freshman year in high school, he is currently 5-9 155lbs, but growing. Should we stay with a 33" 30 oz. since he is still growing or move down to a 32" 29 oz. to help enhance better bat speed? He likes the swing of the 32" 29 oz. he is swinging right now. Papa Craig
Based on the fact he is liking the 32" 29 oz now, I would recommend getting that. That should last him several years, especially with the high quality composite found on the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Justin R.
Does the MAKO allow you to have bat speed or is it just powerful? Evan
Due to the new 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR's (BB14MK) incredible balance, the MAKO will help the player increase bat speed. The increased bat speed and high quality performance will help enhance your power output.
Justin R.
My son is 120lbs and 5-7. He is a 14 year old 8th grader. We are looking to get a bat that is appropriate for him now and possibly next year as a HS freshman. What do you recommend? Scott
If you are looking to get a bat he can use in high school play than a BBCOR certified bat will be required. All of these bats have a -3 length-to-weight ratio. Some of our more popular BBCOR models are the Rawlings 5150 Alloy BBCOR: BBCA2 and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR: DXVXC, and are two very quality bats that are reasonably priced as well.
Kyle J.
I am debating between this and a XL1. I am more of a contact hitter but can still hit for power? Is this the bat for me? Ahale
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK would be a great bat for someone with your hitting style. The MAKO has a very balanced swing weight for optimal bat speed which is preferred by contact hitters, but it still retains the extended barrel and large sweet spot of the XL1.
Kyle J.
I'm 14 years old and 6 feet tall and weigh 200 pounds. What bat size would be good for me? big A
I would suggest the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) in a 33"/30 oz based on your height and weight.
Bobby
I am 13 years old and only about 88 pounds I am a big contact hitter, I can't hit for power so which would be better for me the 2014 Easton S1 or the 2014 Easton Mako I use a 31/28? Voss
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) would both be great bats for a contact hitter. You will get a quicker swing speed with the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1), but you cant go wrong with either one.
Kyle
Which bat is better the Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) or the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC)? baseball21
Both are great balanced bats. The Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) will have a longer barrel which extends the sweet spot and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) has new technology called the d-fusion handle which also extends the sweet spot in the barrel.
Damon
I'm 5' 3" and 100 pounds. What size is good for me? lil man
Based on your height and weight, a 29" or 30" BBCOR would be the recommended length. But the smallest size the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) is produced in is the 31" length. If you could try out a 31" MAKO that a friend, teammate, or Easton Demo House (http://www.easton.com/baseball/dealer-locator/) had available, that would give you the best insight into what size you would be most comfortable with.
Mac
I am 5'8" 140 lbs. What would be the right size bat for me? I want a quick swing that delivers as much power as possible. Rob
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).

Based on the information you gave, I would recommend a 34" 31 oz. size in the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK).
Zach
I'm debating between this and the XL1. I hit for both contact and power. I'm not sure to get this or the XL1. I need a little more speed behind my swing but I also want power and a lot of pop. Which would you recommend? I'm 5'6" and 130 lbs. Zack
Both bats would be a great choice for you. If you prefer a balanced feel the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) would be the better choice for you. But if like an end loaded swing weight the XL1 is the way to go.
Bobby
I am 5'6" 140 lbs. What size would you recommend for me? Z is a Beast
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
I am 5'6 130 pounds. I own a Easton S1 2012 model and I am looking for a new bat. I was thinking about getting the MAKO but reviews say it doesn't have the best pop. Which bat should I settle for the Easton S1 or the Easton MAKO? dean
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) will have similar pop because they both have to meet the .50 BPF BBCOR standard. The S1 and the MAKO are very similar in that they are two-piece composites and have a balanced swing weight. The main difference between the two is that the MAKO has an extended barrel design, which is normally seen in end loaded bats. The choice definitely up to you and if you prefer an extended barrel design or not.
Tessa L.
I am 5'6" 130 lbs and I am a contact hitter. Which bat would be better for me, the Rawlings VELO or The Easton MAKO? Baseball kid

Justin R.

The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) will have a longer barrel than both the CF6 and the Air Elite.
Justin R.
What would be better the MAKO or the XL1? I am a power hitter. Rich
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) would be great choices for a power hitter. The major difference would be that many power hitters prefer a more end-loaded design like the XL1.
Patrick
i am 5'6 140 and love the endloaded feel of the old easton rivals what bat is for me the xl or mako? the run
If you prefer the feel of an end loaded bat I would recommend the XL1 as the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) is balanced.
Bobby
I am 5'6 140 and love the end loaded feel of the old Easton Rivals. Which bat is for me: the XL or Mako? the run
Our Bat Coach recommends a 32" length in the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) based on your height and weight. If you want an end loaded feel I would suggest you to for a bat in Easton's XL series. The XL series features an end loaded swing weight whereas the Easton MAKO (BB14MK) will be a balanced swing weight feel.
Zach
I am 5'5" and 125 lbs. I like a balanced bat. Should I get the MAKO or the S1? tommyjohnny
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) are both very balanced bats. They are very high performing and durable. The main difference is the MAKO has a slightly longer barrel.
Kara
I love hitting opposite field. Should I get the Velo or the Mako? john
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) and the 2014 Rawlings 5150 VELO BBCOR (BBV3) would be great balanced options that would be good to go opposite field with. The preference would come down to whether you want flex in the swing like in the MAKO or a stiffer feel like in the VELO. Also, the preference between alloy or composite barrel would be important o keep in mind.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 9 and weigh about 170 pounds. I hit well to all sides of the field and have good bat speed. What bat would be best for my build? The Easton Mako or Easton S1? ADDI
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) would be good choices for a player of your ability. They will be similar in design and balance but the MAKO features a slightly longer barrel for a more extended sweet spot and it features an enhanced connection point between the barrel and the handle. This connection point better protects against sting and vibration. Those two features are what set the two bats apart.
Patrick
My son is 5' 4" and 107 pounds. What size BBCOR bat is good for him? Should he get an S1 or S4? DANIAN
For a player that size we would typically suggest a 29" model of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK). As far as picking between the Easton S1 and Easton S4, it ultimately comes down to preference. The 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) is a two-piece fully composite with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter whereas the 2014 Easton S4 BBCOR (BB14S4) is a one-piece alloy bat with a 2 1/2" barrel diameter.
Gary T.
Is the Easton S1 BBCOR just as heavy as the Mako? I'm a smaller player and don't have much strength and I need a light bat with good pop to get it far. Do you think the Mako would work? 17baseballlasershow
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) is slightly better balanced than the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR so it would be a bit lighter swing weight but not by much. Both would be considered some of the most balanced BBCOR bats on the market.
Patrick
My sons 5'5" 150 lbs, and a power hitter. What size would he need? Is this better than the S3? bison baseball
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK). The MAKO is currently Easton's best bat, it combines the Easton S series and XL series into one bat.
Jason
I am 5'3 and a 100 lbs. I am currently using a 31" 23 oz XL1 and doing very well. What size MAKO would be best for me? dougie213
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
I was wondering if this bat is a fully composite or half and half split? My son is 13, 6' tall and 175 lbs. Would you recommend this bat or an XL1? the slugger
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) has a two-piece fully composite design. The XL1 has an end loaded swing weight and is typically better for power hitters. The balanced swing weight on the MAKO is typically better for contact hitters. Based on his height and weight, we suggest 33" model.
Jason
I am 14 years old, 6'0" tall and weigh 160 lbs. Is a 32 inch bat the right size for me? HaleStorm
We would suggest on average a 33" bat for someone of your height and weight, although you can go up or down 1" from the recommended size based on personal preference. A 32" bat would certainly be fine for you.
Kyle J.
I am 4'7" and weigh 75 lbs. I use an S2. What size MAKO BBCOR should I use? Jonny Baseball
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
When will the new line be released? hotwheels_19
Easton's new products are projected to be released around September 1st, 2014. This will include the replacement for the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK).
Merritt
Which should I choose this or CF6? I like both brands. I am a contact hitter who can hit for power. Bjsawyer_19
Tessa
What is the difference between the 2014 Easton MAKO and the 2014 Easton S1? Jeff
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR (BB14S1) are very similar by design. The major differences would be that the MAKO has a slightly more extended barrel and features an enhanced connection point that better prevents sting and vibration to the hands of the player.
Patrick
I am 6'3", 215 lbs, and I am power hitter. Which size would work best? A 33" bat or a 34"? AK
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest a 34" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK).
Merritt
I can't decide which bat to get the mako or the xl1. Which one is better? Ben
Both bats are great options. They both have the extended sweet spot but the only difference between the 2014 Easton MAKO and the 2014 Easton XL1 is that the Mako is a balanced bat whereas the XL1 is more end loaded.
Cooper
Would a 34" bat be good for a 5'8" contact hitter? benjy
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight. However, players that are 5'8" usually swing 32" models in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
How does the MAKO have a lighter swing weight, but have a larger sweet spot than the S1? Patrick
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) has Easton's newest TCT Thermo composite. This new advanced composite designs is lighter weight than the IMX composite used in the Easton S1. The new TCT Thermo composite also makes it possible to increase barrel size and sweet spot while keeping a balanced swing weight.
Jason
Which bat is better: the CF6 or MAKO? Ben
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the CF6 are both comparable bats. The performance and the design is very similar, and one does not necessarily perform better than the other. It is always best to stick with the manufacturer you have had success with in the past.
Jason
Would a 34" bat be OK to use for a 5' 10" kid? Babe
A 34" may be too large for a player at your size to use on the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK). A 32" or 33" would be better suited.
Brandon
I am 6' and weigh 260 lbs. What bat length would work best for me? jake
Based on your approximate height and weight, the length I would suggest would be 33" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK).
Merritt
Is the MAKO more durable than the S1? TJ
The composite materials on the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) are more durable than the composite on the S1.
Brandon
I am 13 years old and I am playing Babe Ruth and school ball. Is this bat too much for me to swing? Or is it something I can use longer in the future? B
BBCOR bats like the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) would be heavier than any Senior League model you may have previously used and would be an adjustment that would take work. However, once you reach high school level, BBCOR bats will be the requirement so it may be beneficial to get started adjusting to the weight.
Patrick
I am 12 years old and 5'1". I am also a contact hitter. What size bat should I use? meeeeee
Based on your age and size, I would probably suggest a 32" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: (BB14MK).
Merritt
I am 16, 5'9'' and 140 lbs. What size bat should I get? John
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
I am 13 years old, 6' and 145 lbs. What size MAKO should I use? TC
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 33" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Jason
I'm 6'1" and 175 lbs. Would a 34" 31 oz. be the right choice? Jacob
Based on your height and weight, our Bat Coach actually recommends a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK). Sizing is preferential and generally, you want to swing the longest and heaviest bat that you can comfortably and consistently control. If you would feel more comfortable going with a 34" MAKO, that will be up to you.
Tessa
I am 5'8" and 160 lbs. What size mako would be right for me? beaconboy
For someone your size I would recommend a 32" 29 oz. or a 33" 30 oz. in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
Cooper
5'11" 165 lbs.in 10th grade what size should i get abe
Based on your height and weight, I would advise purchasing the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) in the 33" 30 oz. size.
Sean
Which bat has a bigger sweet spot and which bat's pop lasts longer: this or the new 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR? Dylan
The sweet spot and performance life of both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR (BB14X1) are going to be very similar. The XL1 has a slightly longer barrel, so its sweet spot may be slightly larger than that of the MAKO.
Marcus
Is the sweet spot on the MAKO bigger or smaller than the BBCOR CF6? #40
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult has a longer barrel for a bigger sweet spot. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR (DXCFC) also features the new D-fusion technology which is supposed to transfer energy back to the barrel for a large sweet spot as well. Both are high performance models and would be great choices to go with.
Tessa
Would the Easton MAKO or the Rawlings Trio have a better pop? And which bat would be an overall better bat? Josh
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) would be a very high performing bat. The extended barrel design is a great feature for such a balanced bat. The Rawlings Trio will come in balanced and end loaded models. It will also have great performance. Both bats will have very much the same peak performance.
Brandon
I'm 5'7 and 140lbs and I'm more of a contact-power hitter. Would the Easton Mako have a lighter swing speed than the Easton s1? Banshee
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) would have a slightly lighter swing weight than the 2014 Easton S1.
Cooper
How should I break in the MAKO? Ball is life
The best way to break in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is to use a break-in period of 150-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss with real baseballs. Start the swing at 50% power and steadily work your way up. The barrel should be rotated ¼ inch after each swing to assure complete barrel coverage.
Patrick
Does this bat have enough power to hit a home run? brownie
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) does have enough pop to allow players to hit home runs.
Sean
I'm about 5'4", and 105 lbs. I'm a line drive hitter with good power on occasions. What size MAKO would you recommend for me? It has to be a -3. lefty
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest a 29" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK).
Merritt
I'm 4' 11' and 102 lbs. and need a -3 bat for school ball next year. Based on my weight and height, which MAKO would be the best fit for me? Max

Kelby

Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
I am 6 foot 8 and 230 pounds. I have a 30 inch 27 ounce Mako. Should I get something smaller? billy
Based on your height and weight, you would be best suited with a 34 inch size of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
Patrick
im 5'7" and 140 lbs. what do i need to use? Sterling
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 33" 30 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
I am about 4'11" and need a BBCOR MAKO. Based on my size, what size MAKO should I get? Maxy
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight. However, a player that is 4'11" usually swings a 31" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK). For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I am 13 years old and 5 foot 4 and weigh 106 pounds. What size of bat should I get? baseballdude11
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 29 inch bat like the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
Patrick
Is the mako for power hitters or contact hitters Hughgf
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) is going to be balanced for contact hitters and will have a long barrel for power hitters. The MAKO can be used for both power and contact hitters.
Sean
I am 5'3 100 pounds what size MAKO should I use on a 300 foot field? motown
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 31" 28oz. 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
I am 5'7" 130 lbs. What size bat should I use? ballislife12
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
Jason
What is the difference between Easton's IMX Composite Barrel, SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle, and their TCT Composite on the MAKO? Is there any advantage to one or the other? ryanjd34
The IMX Composite material has been used in many of Easton's models for a few years. You'll find that material exclusively in the barrel, and the blend is designed to provide maximum trampoline effect. Since the 2013 product line, baseball models like the S1 and XL1 have featured the upgraded SIC Black Carbon Composite in their handles only. This material provides a stiffer flex which transfers energy more efficiently to the ball on contact while eliminating vibration. With the 2014 MAKO, the TCT Composite material allows that bat to offer both a large sweet spot while maintaining a very balanced swing weight.
Mac
I am interested to know what the bat requirements are for Middle School baseball. Max
Unfortunately, bat rules can vary across the country regarding Middle School baseball. Some leagues will require the use of a BBCOR certified bat like this 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) while others will allow the use of a -5 Senior League model. To be absolutely certain what design you need, I would definitely recommend asking a coach or school official.
Mac
Is BBCOR always a minus 3? matty p
Yes, all BBCOR bats like the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) have a -3 length to weight ratio.
Jason
I'm 6'1", 175 pounds, and the 33" MAKO seems a bit light. Would I be ok switching to the 34" version? jaquizz
Based on your height and weight, we recommend using a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK). Sizing is a matter of preference, so if the 33" feels too light, jumping to a 34" is definitely something to take into consideration. Generally, you want to swing the heaviest bat that you can comfortably and consistently control, so if you are able to handle a 31 oz., going with a 34" would be a great choice.
Tessa
What is the difference between this and the XL1? bob
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is constructed with Easton's newest TCT composite. It has an extended barrel and one of the lightest swing weights on the market. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is constructed with Easton's IMX composite. It also has an extended barrel but it has an end loaded swing weight.
John H
I am 6' and 155 lbs. Which size would work the best, a 32" or a 33"? Detroit Tigers
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest 33" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK).
Merritt
How many swings does it take to break in the MAKO? Detroit Tigers
Generally, for any composite bat we recommend around 125-150 swings, rotating the barrel a quarter of an inch after each swing. The composite material will start out pretty slow on the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK), however, once it is broken in, the performance will continually increase.
Merritt
Does the Mako have a lighter swing speed than the S4? Does it have a similar barrel to the XL1? If so, which one has more pop? bartolo_35
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) will have a similar balance and swing speed to the S4 but will have similar barrel dimensions to the XL1. All three bats will be BBCOR certified so they will all have similar maximum performance. The feel of the bat would make the difference for what you see performance wise as a player. If you perform better with an end-loaded model I would go with the XL1 but if you like a balanced bat you should go with the MAKO.
Patrick
I'm a 5'9", 140 lbs and I'm looking for a new bat. Would the DeMarini CF6 or Easton MAKO be right for me? Prod
Both models have been very popular, and are going to be top of the line in performance. They will also have a similar two-piece composite structure, and balanced weight distribution. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK) is known for being very light weight, and having a great sweet spot. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (DXCFC) will incorporate D-Fusion Handle Technology, and this helps eliminate vibration and also helps to extend the sweet spot. Ultimately, it will come down to your personal preference. If you are a contact-hitter, both models will fit your game extremely well.
Merritt
I'm 5'7" and weigh 180 lbs. Which size bad would be good for me? poppa bear
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
Tessa
I'm 5'6" 130 lbs. What size MAKO would you recommend me use? jsteve2
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest 31" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK).
Merritt
Is this bat similar to the Easton S1 and is this bat good for contact hitters? Mr. contact
The 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) will use the same materials as the Easton S1 but will have a larger barrel with more hitting surface and added sweet spot. The MAKO would be great for a contact hitter.
Kelby
Is the weight just at the barrel of the bat or is it distributed equally? luke campo
The 2014 Easton MAKO (BB14MK) has a weight distribution that is evenly balanced throughout the bat.
Sean
I am 13 and I am debating on what I should get between a Rawlings Trio or Easton Mako. Which has more pop and what bat would you recommend? baseball boy
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2014 Rawlings TRIO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBTRIO) would be rated the same in terms of maximum performance or "pop" they can achieve because they are both rated under the BBCOR standard. Given your age, if you are just starting out with a BBCOR bat I would lean more towards the MAKO because it is a little bit better balanced than the TRIO but both would be great choices.
Patrick
My son is 15, 5'10" and weighs 210 pounds. What kind of bat should he use? Would the Easton MAKO be a good choice? Cameron
The best type of bat to use is a bat that compliments his hitting style. If he is more of a power hitter, an end loaded model would be a great option to take advantage of his strength and bat speed. If he is more of a contact hitter, a balanced bat is a great option to work on bat speed and bat control. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) features a balanced swing weight and an extended barrel (which is normally only seen in end loaded models), so it is the best of both worlds for power and contact hitting. The MAKO would be a great option for your son to check out.
Tessa
How long does it take to break in the MAKO? hanna
We recommend around 150 swings off the tee or soft toss to fully break-in the composite fibers of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK).
John
I am 6' 2" and 211 lbs. What size bat should I get? Dom
The best recommended size in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) for you would be a 33" 30 oz. or a 34" 31 oz.
Brandon
Which bat is more balanced: the Easton MAKO or S1? cball
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) would be similarly balanced. The Mako would feature a more extended barrel though similar to the XL1.
Patrick
I'm a contact hitter with power. Which bat would suit me best, the MAKO, S1 or the XL1? baseball
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) would be ideal for a contact hitter with power. It will not only have the extended barrel length, but also a very light swing weight as well.
Brandon
i am 5'2 and weigh 112 pounds, what size should i get? baseball player
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 31" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
This past year I used a 32 inch bat and had success but I am moving up to varsity and I am only 5 foot 7 and weigh 120 pounds. should I move down to a 31 inch since I am small and facing good pitching, or stick with my 32 inch? sschamp
If you are seeing good plate coverage and swing speed with the 32 inch, I would stick with that. Working out and taking swings with the lager bat can help train your muscles to allow for a faster swing speed over time and the heavier the bat you use the more power you can get if you can swing it well.
Patrick
My son has the S1. He is 12 and is generally a power hitter. How do the S1 and MAKO compare? Dave
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the S1 are very comparable bats in design. They are both two-piece composite designs with balanced swing weights. The MAKO uses Eastons newest TCT Thermo composite for a lighter swing weight and bigger sweet spot.
Jason
I am 5'6" and about 104 lbs. Should I stick with a 31" or go to a 32"? ben
Based on your height and weight, we recommend staying with a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
Jason
I am 14 years old, 5 foot 5 and I weigh 110 pounds. I am a contact hitter with fast hands. I am deciding which bat I should use between the 2014 Mako and the 2014 S1. Which would be the best fit for me? Alex
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1) would be good options. They are very similar in design. The MAKO has a more extended barrel length and features a more advanced connection point which is better to prevent sting and vibration.
Patrick
Does this bat have the most pop on the market? A lot of the reviews complain about the pop? Johnny manzeil
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK) is constructed using TCT Thermo Composite material. This type of material will require a slight break-in period. Generally we recommend around 125-150 hits, however, it is at the players discretion. It could take a little bit longer to break it in, but once the material is fully broken in, the power will continually build and expand over this model's lifetime. This model is top of the line, and has been one of our most popular models as well.
Merritt
Is this bat end loaded or balanced? pat
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a balanced design.
Patrick
When will there be a 31" 28 oz. bat in stock? ash
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a discontinued model as the 2015 model has been released. We can't guarantee if or when we would add the 31" model back to inventory.
Mac
I'm 5'9" and a half and weigh 180 lbs. What would be the best bat for me? chris homer
If you are a contact player, I would probably suggest the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (B14MK). The two-piece balanced design will provide players with added flex through the zone. Generally, contact hitters tend to prefer this type of feel. If you are a power hitter, I would probably suggest the 2014 RIP-IT AIR BBCOR Baseball Bat: (B1403A). The one-piece alloy design will provide a stiffer feel, and will also give players instant power.
Merritt
When will the 31/28 model be back in stock? allstar99
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14MK) has been discontinued. Therefore, we will unfortunately not be receiving any more of these items or sizes including the 31/28" back into our inventory. Easton has released its new 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB15MK), and this model does come in a 31/28".
Merritt
I am six feet tall and 160 pounds. What size bat should I get the MAKO in? wags
We would recommend a 33" in the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK).
John
I am 5'7" and 162 lbs. Is the MAKO a good move from the Voodoo OVERLORD. What size should I buy? austin
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) has an extremely balanced swing weight compared to the end loaded Voodoo OVERLORD. The balanced swing weight will help you increase your swing speed. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model.
Jason
For a power hitter, would you recommend a 1 piece bat like the Cat 6 or the Mako? Brian
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) can be used by a power hitter. The stiffer flex of the Cat 6 would be more typical of a power hitter style player because it offers more control to push or pull the ball but both bats would be nice options.
Patrick
What is the durability of this bat versus a 1 piece bat like the Cat 6? Which will sustain the pop longer? Brian
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Marucci CAT 6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (MCBC614) will have above average durability. However, we have seen composite barrel bats like the MAKO tend to last longer in a peak performance state than alloy barrel bats. The way the bats wear over time allows composite barrel bats to get hotter as they go while alloy barrels will slowly dull or dent.
Patrick
Mako or the CF6? Rambler
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR bat are both great. The MAKO will feature a longer more extended barrel. The CF6 will feature a D-Fusion handle for better comfort against hand sting and vibration. Either bat would be perfect for a BBCOR hitter.
Brandon
My son is going to be 12 and he is only 4'7" and 70 lbs. Would either the MAKO or S1 would be better? What size is recommended? scot
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a better option for him. The MAKO is one of the lightest swinging BBCOR bats on the market and will provide him with quick bat speed. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" model.
Jason
How does the XL1 and MAKO compare to each other? Bean
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) are very similar in design with a two-piece composite construction and an extended barrel size. However, the MAKO uses a TCT Composite material that allows the extended barrel design but the bat is still well balanced. The XL1 will be more end-loaded.
Patrick
Does the MAKO hit better than the XL1? bean
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) will have a lighter swing weight than the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1). In terms of maximum batted ball speed, they will both adhere to BBCOR restrictions so at their peak they will perform to the same level. If you can swing the end-loaded XL1 with good form and bat speed, it may lead to a bit more power production.
Patrick
Is the 2014 Mako and the 2015 Mako good for power hitters? Brian
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) can both be used by all types of hitters and power hitters should have success with those bats.
Patrick
What bat would be a better choice the Mako or the 2015 DeMarini Overload? peter stevenson
Performance wise they are going to be very similar. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a two piece full composite bat, while the DeMarini Voodoo Overload is a two piece hybrid bat.
Frankie
Which bat is the best: the CF6 BBCOR, the 2014 Mako BBCOR or the 2014 XL1 BBCOR? Ryan V
All of these bats are great options. It depends if you want something with a balanced swing weight or something end loaded and a little heavier. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a 2-piece full composite that is light weight and balanced like the S1 with a long barrel like the XL. The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1) is also a 2-piece composite, but it is end loaded. The 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) is a 2-piece composite that is balanced.
Allison
I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 120 pounds. I am a freshman and I am a contact hitter. I am trying to decide between this bat and the 2014 CF6. Which is a better choice? jaxbutler8
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2014 DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) are great, top of the line options. The main difference is that the MAKO has an extended barred length for a bigger sweet spot. For that reason, however, the CF6 will be a bit more balanced overall.
Patrick
I am 5'8" and 130 lbs. I am looking for a new bat. Which is better: the Easton S1 or MAKO? baseball boy
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the Easton S1 are both high end two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weights. The Easton MAKO is a more advanced bat though, because it features the newest TCT Thermo Composite. The TCT Thermo Composite provides the MAKO with an extended barrel for a bigger sweet spot and makes the bat extremely light swinging.
Jason
My 13-year-old son is 5'6" and 180 lbs. Playing with a -3 for the first time in school ball. What size MAKO bat should I get him? He has not yet hit the teenager growth spurt. He will likely grow to 6'4". Michi
Based on the height and weight of your son I would recommend getting a 33" 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK)
Jake
Hi, I just bought a brand new 2014 Easton Mako BBCOR and I understand that it is a composite bat. I was wondering if you can give me the proper steps to breaking it in to reach its full potential. Thanks Jeff
With composite bats we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work your way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings. It"s also important to rotate the bat ¼' after each swing to ensure that you get complete barrel coverage. Never break in your bat in a cage that uses yellow dimpled balls.
Jake
I'm about 5'5",120 lbs. I am looking for a bat that is extremely quick through the zone with good pop, and good balance. I'm not the strongest, so balance is key. I either want a CF series bat or a Mako. What size would be good for me? Tyler
For a player of your size, our bat coach recommends a 30" 27 oz. model. You could also potentially move up to the 31" 28 oz. model. Both the DeMarini CF6-CF7, and the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) will be two-piece well-balanced bats. Two-piece bats typically allow players to have faster bat speeds, because they actually flex more when being swung through the zone.
Joe
How much different is the 2014 mako than the 2015 mako? Reagan baseball
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) will be very similar to the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK). The differences will be largely cosmetic.
Joe
I am 12 years old and I am 6 foot 6 and weigh 230 pounds. I am a contact hitter. Would you prefer the MAKO or the XL1? Mike
If you are more of a contact style hitter, the balance of the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) may be a better fit for you than the more end-loaded feel of the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14X1).
Patrick
I'm a power hitter. What do you think I should swing in the new Easton line up? broc
The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is typically recommended more for contact hitters, but is a good high performing choice for any type of hitter. Another model I would suggest looking into would be the 2015 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15X1) which is designed more for power hitters with an end loaded swing weight.
Tom
Hi I didn't know where to ask except here. Is the BBCOR Nike M1 illegal in high school? mason

Allison

Liz
Compared to alloy bats, why does this bat have so little pop when hitting off the tee? Alex
Under the BBCOR .50 regulations, all bats will have the same "pop" as they are all under the same performance restrictions. The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a two piece composite bat that will have a different sound and feel to it than alloy barrel bats.
Tom
What is the difference between the 2014 Easton MAKO and the 2015 Easton MAKO? .
The only difference between the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 MAKO is the cosmetic design.
Tom
How does this compare to the Omaha 515 BBCOR? How is the balance? jeff
Both the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) would both be well balanced models. Other than that, they would compare vary differently because thy are different by design and construction.
Patrick
What is the best way to break in the MAKO? DS
The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) features a two piece full composite design. In order to break the composite down into a single layer, we would recommend 100-120 swings, either soft toss or off of a tee. The bat needs to be rotated 1/4" every twenty swings or so. Try not to hit against a machine, or live pitching until the bat is broken in, or composite speckling will occur.
Joe
Can you use this bat in Pony League Baseball? Power Hitters
The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) will have the BBCOR .50 certification that will make it legal for the Colt and Palomino divisions of Pony Baseball.
Ben
Is there a wood bat that is the most similar to the swing of the 2014 MAKO? Eli
The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) features an extremely balanced swing weight, so looking at wood bats, I would recommend checking out wood bats that feature a 110 turn model. There is also the Easton MAKO Composite Wood Baseball Bat (MAKO) Comp Adult, which is actually manufactured to play like the MAKO BBCOR bat. Other manufacturers to check out would be the Louisville Slugger M9 Maple M110 Natural/Black Matte Wood Baseball Bat (WBM9110-BN Adult) or the 2015 Rawlings VELO Composite Wood Baseball Bat (R110CV) Adult.
Tessa
I am a contact hitter. I'm 5'3" and 128 pounds. Should I stick with a 31" or a 32"? isaac
I would recommend a 31" in the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) for a player with your height and weight.
John
I've been using a 5150 for 2 years. The 5150 is alloy and has a smaller barrel than the MAKO. Would it be a tough transition to go from the 5150 to the MAKO? Caleb Bower
There will be a slight difference in feel between the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) and the 2015 Rawlings 5150 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB5150) but it should not be a tough transition from one to the other.
Patrick

Unfortunately, we only have the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) in a 34 inch size. We have the new 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) in that size.

The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14MK) is a 2014 model of the bat so it was discontinued from production when the 2015 model came out. Because of this, we do not have the ability to order more in that size.
Patrick
my son is 10 yrs old, approx 86 lbs and almost 5 ft tall. what size mako is right for him? dice
We would recommend a 30" model for his height and weight, however this is the adult model that you asked this question on. At that age you want to look at the Youth model or the Senior League.
Damon

What degree weather should it be used in? BigTo
We do not recommend using the Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14MK in temperatures below 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
John P.
Why shouldn't you use the bat below 60 degree weather? Will it damage bat? What happens? Andi
The Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB14MK, like all bats, should not be used below 60 degrees because it can damage the bat. The ball actually becomes more dense in the colder temperatures and that is what can cause the bat to be damaged. Composite bats can crack and alloy bats can dent.
Jason
