Questions and Answers for Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth
My 7 year old is 52 inches tall and weighs 62 lbs. He currently uses an Easton Rival, 28" 15 oz. bat. I am looking to buy him a new bat that is comparable to the Easton Rival. Would this bat be similar?
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth would be a comparable bat to the Easton Rival as both models have balanced, one-piece alloy designs. Based on results from our Bat Coach tool (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we would recommend a 28" bat, or even 29" to allow for growth.
Does this bat have a USSSA stamp on it?
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is BPF 1.15 certified, but it does not feature the new USSSA stamp.
I bought the -13 Reflex 31" so my son would have a nice new bat, after using his existing bat for around 2 seasons. I want to make sure it's appropriate for his age, height, and weight. He is a very good batter, but I'm looking to allow him to bring a little more power and speed to the plate, as it's his first season going against kids pitching as opposed to the machine. He is 9 1/2 yrs. old and 80 lbs. now, and was 55" (4' 7") in October. So, I would guess he's an inch or two taller. Please email me what you think about this particular bat for my son's use in games. ... Thank you!
Based on his size, a 31" model of the Easton Reflex: LX73 is recommended. The Easton Reflex: LX73 is a balanced bat that is a great option for younger players looking to either maintain, or improve their swing speed. At it's current price, the LX73 is a great deal.
What size bat do you recommend for my 8 year old? He is 55" and 65 lbs.
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth is a good option for an 8 year old. We recommend a 29" based on his size and age.
My son is 9 years old (10/1/03), he is 53" and 73 lbs. I'm thinking of getting him the 30" 17 oz. option. What do you suggest? He hits line drives with heavier bats but is late on them, pushing them to right field or the right side of the infield (right handed hitter).
A 29" bat length is recommended for a player his size for the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth. With it being a -13 size he could very well use the 30" length because the bat will be so light.
My 11 year old son is 5' 2" 95 lbs would a 31" 18 oz. Easton Reflex or which other Easton bats would be good for him?
Yes, the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth will work great for you in the 31" 18 oz. size.

My 8 year old son has small hands is 49" tall and weighs 50 lbs. He is small and has slow swing speed. Looking for the best fit for him to increase bat speed and control to get more pop. Makes contact but no pop at all, he is currently using Worth Copperhead 27/17. Thanks for the assistance!
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 28" model in the Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat. This bat features a balanced swing weight making it a good option for a player with below average swing speed.
I am curious of the different Easton Reflex designations of LX70, LX71, LX73, and even LX40? Also, does the 2013 model of the Reflex have various designations ? Thanks a lot!
Nothing has changed between the Easton Reflex LX70, Easton Reflex LX71 and Easton Reflex LX73. All feature the same design, materials and balance. The only changes through the past 3 years has been the color and graphics of the bat. The 2013 Easton Reflex: YB13RX will also feature the same materials, but has a slightly longer barrel than its predecessors.

My grandson is almost 7 years old. I am looking for a bat for to be used with a pitching machine. He is 46" tall and weighs around 50 lbs. Concerned about a few of the reviews that talk about stinging the hands. Is it due to the thinner handle? How much thinner is the handle than a comparable bat?
The Easton Reflex: LX73 Youth bat has a handle that is about .03" to .06" thinner than average. This is a one-piece alloy bat, and typically, one-piece bats like the Reflex have a little more sting and vibration compared to two-piece bats. It's not necessarily correlated with the thinner handle.
My son is 4'6 and weighs about 70 lbs. with a pretty good swing. 8 yrs old. Looking at the bat pack with the Easton Reflex and Rawlings Plasma. How would size those up? Is 30/17 or 29/16 the route to go on the Reflex?
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29' 16 oz Easton Reflex: LX73. Both the Reflex and the Plasma will be similar in performance and feel.
I'm wondering what the benefit is to ordering the bat pack that includes 2 separate bats for my 7 year old son. He is 50" and about 60 lbs. If I go this route should I order the same length with the distinction being solely the weight of each bat?
The most important benefit of the JustBats.com Bat Packs in the better price. You could get two bats that are very similar to use in the same season or you could get a bat that he is ready for immediately and a bat he will soon grow in to.

The 2012 Easton Reflex is a one piece all aluminum bat. The Easton Surge is a two piece, composite handle and aluminum barrel bat. Both will be similar in performance, but the Surge will have a little more flex to it when it is swung, to help contact type hitters get the bat head through the zone.
I wanted to get my son this bat but his old bat is a 31" 20 oz. Will this weight difference effect him?
If your son needs quicker bat speed, the 31" 18 oz will be fine. If he has quite a bit of power, we recommend not to decrease in weight.

Looking to buy a bat for my granddaughter. This is her first year playing T-ball, and is 9 yrs old. What bat do you recommend and what size & weight?
For a 9 year old playing tee ball, I would recommend a bat around 29 inches with a weight between 16 and 18 ounces.
Sizing for a 10 year old, travel LL. He is about 4 foot 4 and 90 pounds. Looking at 30 in 17 oz. Does that sound right?
Based on his height and weight, he's right on the edge between a 29 and 30 inch model. I think if you go with a 30 inch 17 ounce model, he'll be very successful with that size.
Just bought this for my 7 year old. Can he hit real baseballs with this bat? 20 feet away, easy pitches for batting practice.
Yes. Youth baseball bats like this one, are designed to be used with real baseballs.
Does this bat have "BPF 1.15" stamped on it?
The Easton Reflex will state on the barrel that it is USSSA BPF 1.15. It will not have the "thumbprint" stamp that the big barrels are requiring.
Does it have the 2012 USSSA stamp?
No. This bat does not have the new USSSA stamp. USSSA will not require this new stamp on youth small barrel bats until 2013
This particular bat features the old USSSA stamp, but not the new one. The old stamp is being grandfathered in for the 2012 season, and this bat is legal for use in 2012.
How Heavy is this bat? Would it be suitable for my 6 year old son?
This model would have a -13 length to weight ratio. Easton has designed this bat to be very well balanced giving it a lighter swing weight. This would work great for a player of all ages.

how does this bat compare to the more expensive.bats
The Reflex doesn't use as high of quality alloy as some of it's conterparts. It is still a great performing bat for the price.
How does this bat compare to the Easton LX70? What is the difference? Is it worth the extra money?
The biggest difference is going to be the alloy that is used in the barrel of the bat. The LX73 is going to use a newer technology and is going to be a hotter bat. The LX73 will also be a more durable bat.
