Pros: We have a lot of great composite bats and needed an aluminum bat. I love Easton Bats so I got this one and a Surge. The Rival is the Easiest bat to hit. No matter what type of swing your child has I promise you this bat will be great if you are wanting an aluminum bat.

Cons: Not really any true cons. Great bat!

Pros: my kid loves the grip and the pop its a great bat he's 9 i got him the 28/18 he loves the colors of the bats he is a contact hitter make base hits but with this bat he is hitting line drives

Cons: big disapppointment on the first week of using it he dented the bat i send it back and the second one it broke on the top close to the top cap like i said my boy is 9 he plays all year long wish easton made a durable bat

Pros: My son likes the grip. Well balanced.

Cons: Not much pop to it but maybe we got a bad one. It had 3 dents after the first hitting session. My son is only 10 so I am surprised that it was not very durable. The worth prodigy we had(which is notorious for denting) went much longer than this bat did before denting.

Pros: We tested the Vexxum and TPX against it, and it seemed to give about 10 yards extra to my 9 year old. Like it very much. Every tourney kid we know has one, now. Seems to be the bat to have for 2011.

Cons: The 2011 model gets skinnier, much quicker than the 2010 model. Kids that have a tendency to hit on inside of bat may have a small bit of a challenge....but then it teaches to hit in correct spot.

Pros: Ordered the bat on Wednesday night, received it on Friday just in time for the first tournament of the season. Easy return on Sunday!

Cons: I want to say first off I never write reviews. However, I was extremely disappointed in the durability of this bat. My 10 year old son dented his 2012 brand new Rival on his second and third at bats of the season! His teammate cracked his brand new Rival during the second game. Temp was 80 degrees. Seems like the 2012 bats are not as durable as the older model. What a shame.

Pros: This bat is incredable. I got it for my 10 year old (4'10" @ 112lbs). I've never seen him hit that far. Cleared 200 ft fence by at least 50'. Very comfortable for him, quickened his swing. Dosen't drop the head of the bat and hits to left now instead of center right (with power).

Cons: at that size and power get less of a drop. He dented it at the first hitting session we had. Other than that great bat.

Pros: Great Balance, good pop, good grip. I would have given a 5 star if it wasnt for the denting.

Cons: Dents way too fast!! already sent for replacement just found out that there in back order from Easton and I have to wait like 3 weeks. Tourny coming up, looks like my son is going to have to use old faithful omaha TPX, not the same thing but sure does take a licking.

Pros: Last years Rivals were like no other bat on the market. The pop was insane but there was a durability issue but I think the performance of the bat outwieghed it. Last summer if you were not using an orange and black Rival you were getting hammered by the teams that were.Even with the durability problems we are still going to use them

Cons: Just got 3 of the new BD 10XLs the 2 5/8 model that is legal in pony as they banned the 2 3/4 model. We did not even use them for any BP just 3 USSSA tournament games and by the end of the weekend they were shot. Dented beyond use. Myra at the warrenty cent is the bomb as she always trys to get them warrentied as fast as she can if they are in stock. The bat still has pop just dents fast

Pros: Great reaction off the bat. Most of the team loves it. My 11 yr old son leads the team in average with this bat. Bought a new one 1 inch longer and 1 ounce heavier for next year. Overall a great bat

Cons: Dented last year's model so I sent it in and Easton replaced it with this year's. Just sent that one in for replacement due to large dent. Great bats but I question the durability. Also backordered for the replacement and we have World Series coming up. Not sure if replacement will be here in time!!

Pros: Love the weight and swing balance of the bat. We aren't fans of the Easton ping, know that upfront if your a "crack" fan as opposed to a "ping" fan.

Pros: This bat has a lot of pop right out of the box.

Cons: I am extremely disappointed in the durability of this bat. We have been Easton customers for years and this is the least durable bat I have ever purchased. My 10 year old son hit two buckets of leather baseballs in batting practice and the bat was dented beyond use. Shortly thereafter, in addition to the denting, it cracked. I love the pop of the bat but it is not of acceptable quality.

Pros: Swings easy for my 10 year. Well balanced. Nice grip.

Pros: I bought this bat for my son in 8U in 27/17 after the sping season it was literally flat on 3 sides, but still had great pop. Sent it back to Easton this fall. They sent me back (2) new Rivals in 29/19.

Cons: I guess the fact that they sent me (2) shows they know the bat is not very durable. But still 3 bats for $179 is not bad.

Pros: If you want a bat that produces great pop right out of the wrapper this is it. My son is almost 8, 76 pounds, 4'3", with what I would call above average swing speed. He hits line drives that are amazing with this bat. He also has an Easton surge but for some reason it produces more of an upward trajectory, maybe the balancing of the bat? Anyway, another kid on his team is flat out strong with the same results from this bat. You will like it.

Cons: None so far, seems to be holding up fine. at $120 though you could buy 2 at the price of 1 TPX z1000 slugger which is dead right out of the wrapper.

Pros: Since last year was the first year on my high school varsity baseball team, I wanted to find a bat that I could rely on and I did. The Easton Rival had good pop on its massive sweet spot. I felt like I made solid contact with almost all of the balls I hit, producing line-drives. In addition, I really liked the grip of the bat. This grip was thicker than most which allowed me to have a firmer grasp on the bat and to be more in control of my swing. I think this bat was a steal at only $99.99. Overall, this bat allowed me to have a productive hitting season.

Cons: However, there were a few minor problems with this bat. The first problem that I came across while using this bat was when after about a week and a half the top of the bat came off. To fix this, I used 100% silicone to reinsert the top and stuck it back into the bat. I did not notice any difference in the pop or the weight of the bat after fixing it. The other negative that I encountered was that at first, the bat felt a little top heavy, but after about one or two sessions in the batting cages I adjusted to this feature. Despite these two minor problems, I was able to adjust and have found that the Easton Rival is a quality bat that can be used for varsity level baseball.

Any changes from last year's model? 3D
Easton upgraded the alloy in this model. It's supposed to be stronger and higher performing compared to the alloy used in the previous models of the Rival.
Brett
is this a big barrel Jimmy
Yes, this bat has a barrel size of 2 3/4".
Sean
do your Rivals 2 3/4 have the "USSSA BPF 1.15" stamp that USSSA will require in 2012 yet? batman
As of 6/2/11, none of the 2 3/4 inch Rival bats have the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp.
Brett
I recently returned a dented rival bat and have been told my new bat will have the USSSA stamp. Is this the same bat with just the stamp added, or did you change the bat. Really like the "pop" in the older model and wanted to know what changes to expect dmcneil
As of 6/14/2011, no Easton Rival bats have the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp. The bats are made by Easton and there won't be any significant changes.
JH
This bat has no 1.15 stamp of any kind on it. Does this make it illegal for USSSA? needtoknow
You will not be able to use this bat next year if you play in a league that mandates that the bat have the USSSA and 1.115 BPF stamps on the bat. This bat does not have both stamps.
Brett
I see previous posts of this bat NOT having the 1.15 BPF USSSA stamp however, one of the pictures of this bat is of that particular stamp. Is there some sort of error in the pic or the posts? Wade
As of 9/8/11 this bat DOES have the stamp. All sizes will have the USSSA stamp.
Kris
I bought the easton rival xxl in april it has dents and is still under warranty can i trade it in for a 2012 model with stamp dale town

Will you have 29-19 size with the 2012 usssa stamp in this bat? And how does this bat compare with the new Triton II ? junk yard
We will not be receiving anymore 29" 19 oz Rivals. The new S3 model will be be replacing the Rival in this size. We expect the new S3 model to be arriving the beginning of November 2012.
K.B.
Will it be legal for 2012 ronpal
The Rival is legal for 2012. It has the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp.
Kara
My son is looking at this bat. Two questions: 1. What are your thoughts on all of the dent complaints on the reviews; 2. I get the impression that there wasn't going to be a stamp early in the summer but that chanced for some reason. Correct? Kurt
I have heard some complaints regarding the denting, but it is my understanding they have addressed the problem with the replacment model (S3). The Rivals didn't have the USSSA stamp at the beginning of the year. All of the bats now have the 2012 USSSA stamp.
K.B.
What is the difference between the BG10, the BG11 and the BG12 for the XXL Easton's. chiguy
BG10XL is a -10, the BG11XL is a -9, and the BG12XL is a -5. They are all made the same way, with the same design, just different weights.
Linda
How cold weather can this bat be used in? Baseball Boy
Since this bat is an alloy design it can be used in any weather
Sean
Is this bat gonna have the stamp to be used in 2012? Is it USSSA approved? If not what bat is gonna take it place. My son loves his and want to be able to use one when the season starts back in the spring of 2012. Thanks Robin Robin Bates
Yes, this bat has the 2012 USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp on it.
Linda
my yellow rival dented can i send it in and get both rivals peaceman
If your bat dented, it is covered by a 1 year manufacturer's warranty. Easton's warranty dept # is 888-259-1297. Just give them a call.
Linda
This says it has the 1.15 stamp but is legal in2012. I thought they had to have 1.20 usssa stamp to be legal.... ???? April
That is for slowpitch softball only. USSSA 1.15 is the new rule for 2012.
KG
Does this bat have the USSSA satmp now ichiro
It has the older stamp that is being grandfathered in.
Linda
Does this bat have the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp for 2012? TEAMCOMBAT
Yes. It has the USSSA stamp for 2012.
Kara
Do you carry this bat in 28 oz.? Or will you have more soon? April
This model is being discontinued so we will not be getting anymore in stock. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat replaced the Rival.
Kara
Do both the Rival and the Miken RZR offered in this Bat Pack have the USSSA 1.15 stamp on them. Batty
Yes. The Rival and RZR have the USSSA stamp.
Kara
Pm 6/2/11 Brett responded that the Rival 2 3/4 bat does not have the required USSSA stamp. The bat description says it does and that it is legal for use. Which is it? JRB
On 6/2/11 the bats we had in stock did not have the stamp, the ones we have in stock now do have the stamp.
John
So with usssa stamp this 2 3/4 alloy bat is legal for USSSA at 12u, but it is approved for 12u in Pony leagues? aj
It is not approved in Pony League because it has a 2 3/4 inch barrel.
K.B.
Can you get me this bas in a 30/20 for the $119 price? andy
We will no longer be getting this bat in stock. The S3 and XL3 have replaced this bat.
KG
I bought this bat end of may and it doesn't have 1.15 USSSA stamp can this be put on. marty
We don't have the capability to put the USSSA stamp on the bat. You can contact Easton at 1-800-259-1297.
K.B.
My son owns a 2011 Rival XXL. I see that Easton is advertising the USSSA 1.15 Stamp. Does this only apply to the 2012 model or can a certificate be issued for the 2011? Rob
I have heard some manufacturer's stamping the bats if they are still covered under the warranty. You would have to give Easton a call, the number is 1-888-259-1297.
Billy
I bought my son this bat in June last year and it does not have a usssa sticker on it for 2012 however the new ones sold online now do have the sticker. He only used it once. Why do they have the stickers on them now but not them. Do I now have to buy the same bat justfor a sticker. steelesmom
It does not have the newest stamp, but does have the older 1.15 BPF stamp required. As such it will be grandfathered in for 1 yr. so he can use it until 2013, when all bats will be required to have the new stamp.
Linda
I have a 10 year old and a 30 and 31 inch bat is too big. Is there any way I can get a 29 with this combo? GD
The BG10Xl is being discontinued, so we won't get anymore in stock. However, we do have the Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League in a 29 inch, which replaced the BG10XL.
Kara
i bought the easton rival model BV14XL 30in 20oz 2 3/4 and i dont see the sticker of usssa or bbcor can you tell me if my son bat is legal to play in little league and select hes 11 years old. thank you su
The BV14XL is an older model, and is not marked with a USSSA stamp. And because it is considered a youth big barrel, it would definitely not be BBCOR certified either, because only adult -3 bats get that rating.
Linda
So if you have the 2011 Rival bat and it DON'T have the stamp of usssa 1.15, so I guess we can't use that bat right? Jack
If it does not have the newest USSSA stamp, then it should have the old one which just says in print, USSSA 1.15 BPF. If it says that, you can use it in 2012 but it will be outlawed in 2013 as all bats will be required to have the new marking.
Linda
Are you going to get any more of the 28/18 size? Dave
No. The Rival's are discontinued. The replacement is the Easton S3: SL11S310 Senior League which is available in a 28/18.
Kara
I just bought this bat. If they are discontinuing it what happens if I have to return under warranty? Will they replace it? Payton
If the bat dents or breaks Easton will replace it with the newer version.
KG
We purchased a Rival in 2011. Will this bat be legal in 2012 or will we have to purchase a new bat? Not sure of the markings as the bat has gone through a year of use and is scuffed up. Dad
In most leagues the bat will need the USSSA stamp to be approved. Please contact your league official to find out your bat rules.
KG
My son has both the 2010 Easton Rival and the 2011 Rival. We hand delivered them to an Easton rep to return and swap for the new S3. How long can we expect this transaction to take before we recieve our two new bats? Because as of right now he has nothing to use.. And surely Easton realizes that leagues and tournaments are starting up the end of Febuary and the first part of March. Huffman5
You may get more information from Easton on this one. Their toll free number is 1-888-259-1297.
Tyler
What is the difference between the BG 10xl and the BD 10xl? Mike
The difference between these bats will be the barrel diameter. The BG10XL is a 2 3/4" barrel and the BD10XL is a 2 5/8" barrel. Both bats are 100% alloy and one of the most popular Senior League bats.
Kris
Is this a 2011 model or 2012? ESBA23
The Omen is a 2011 model. It was replaced by the Easton S3: SL11S310.
Kara
Can I send my 2011 Rival back to Easton and get the new stamp put on it? sam
Unfortunately, after a bat has been used it cannot be stamped and manufacturers typically don't take back bats to stamp them. If it is still under warranty, you might try contacting Easton and seeing if you can get a replacement with the stamp on it though.
Jennifer
is there anyway to stop the denting of the bat? 1234qwerty
There really is no way to stop the denting of a bat. If the performance of the bat is being sacrificed because of the denting, it would be covered under the 12 month manufacturers warranty. Here is the number to Easton if you need to utilize the warranty. 1-888-259-1297
Derek
Is this bat legal for usssa use in 2013? Cstcherdude25
Yes. It has the new USSSA stamp (see product images) and is legal for USSSA.
Tyler
Do you have this bat in a 30/20 or 29/19? If not, when do you expect to have 1 available? scott
As of April 27, 2012 we only have the 31" or the 32" mod available right now.
John
I have an older Easton Rival and it is awesome and very durable. I was thinking about getting this one but a lot of people are saying that it cracks and dents a lot. How durable is this bat? The Claytonator
The BG10XL has average durability compared to similar models from other manufacturers and it's definitely a bat with a lot of pop.
Tyler
Can you make a 30 in. 20 oz for the Easton Rival please? I have been waiting 2 1/2 months. Cam
The Easton Rival XXL has been discontinued. We will not be receiving more stock of the 30 inch 20 oz. The Easton S3 replaced the Rival. We do have the Easton S3 in stock a 2 5/8 inch barrel and the 2 3/4 inch barrel.
Kara
Why won't y'all make more bat sizes is the bat to old Nico
The Rival has been discontinued and replaced by the Easton S3. Here is the link to view more features of the S3. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-s3--sl11s310b-senior-league/14523/
Derek
Besides the USSSA stamp is the 2012 model the same as the 2011? My son has a 2011 which he hits very well but does not have the stamp. If a buy at 2012 from your website, is it the same bat (composition, jump, etc.) as the 2011? WKSJ
Easton has updated the alloy material in the Rival since the initial batch or two. Many say the original Rival had more pop than the latter versions, but the more recent version will have a little better durability.
Tyler
Do you have the Easton Rival XXL: BG10XL Senior League in a 2 1\4 barrel? Landon
Unfortunately, we do not carry the Easton Rival XXL in the youth 2 1/4 in. barrel. Easton has replaced the Rival with the Easton S3 and Easton XL3. Both of these models are available in a 2 1/4 in. barrel.
Nick
Is this bat BBCOR certified? Alex
Only bats that have a -3 length to weight ratio will be BBCOR certified. This particular model of the Easton Rival, the BG10XL, has a -10 length to weight ratio which would not allow it to be BBCOR certified. Here is a link to an Easton Rival that would meet BBCOR standards. http://www.justbats.com/product/easton-rival-bbcor--bg2-adult/13061/?pa_source=justbats&pa_medium=was&pa_campaign=badges
Tom
Do you carry a 29" 19 oz for the Easton Rival in this bat pack? Dman
We no longer carry the Easton Rival XXL in a 29" 19 oz. The Easton Rival is discontinued. The Easton S3: SL11S310B replaced the Rival and is available in a 29" 19 oz.
Kara
Is this bat a qualified BBCOR bat? JFimbress
The Easton Rival XXL is not a BBCOR bat. All BBCOR bats are -3.
Nick
Hey my Easton Rival BG10XL has a couple huge dents on it. If i send it in to Easton do I have to get the same bat or can i get the updated Easton bat. 15Jaguar
When sending a damaged or defective bat pack to the manufacturer typically you will get the same bat in replace of it. For more information please contact our customer service at 1-866-321-2287.
Shelbe
Can you use this bat in 13 year old Babe Ruth? dobs22
The Easton Rival XXL would not be allowed in Babe Ruth 13-15 Baseball Division. Only 2 5/8 in. barrels are allowed. The link to the Babe Ruth Bat Rules page is http://www.baberuthleague.org/side-indexes/latest-rule-changes.html.
Nick K.
Is this allowed for school ball? bob
I'm not sure what you mean by "school ball". If you are referring to High School, no, the Easton BG10XL will not be legal because it's not an Adult BBCOR bat. If you are referring to Middle School, you will have to check with your coach or athletic director as all Middle Schools operate under their own unique rules.
Tyler
Is this bat legal for USSSA in 2013? "D"
The Easton RIval XXL is legal in USSSA for 2013.
Kara
Do you have a 28"? pam
Our website is a live inventory so we will only show what we have in stock. Unfortunately we are out of stock on the 28" of this model. This model has been discontinued and replaced by the Easton S3 (SL11S310B).
John
I have an Easton Rival XXL and it doesn't have a USSSA 1.15 stamp on it. If I sent it back to Easton, would they put a stamp on it? Jack
It varies among manufacturer's. You would have to contact Easton for this circumstance. Easton's number 1-888-259-1297.
John
Do you have any 28" 18 oz. - 2/3/4" bats left? Nate
The Easton Rival XXL: BG10XL Senior League bat is a discontinued model, and unfortunately we are all out of stock on the 28" 18 oz. size.
Aubrey
What Easton bat replaced the Easton Rival BV14XL or a bat comparable now by Easton? My son was ejected from tournament game due to the fact that it did not have the velocity stamp on the bat. He loves that bat so I'm in the market for the same but with the stamp. none
The 2014 Easton S3 (SL14S310B) replaced the Easton Rival XXL (BG10XL). It has the new 1.15 BPF USSSA stamp.
