Pros: Amazing bat, im 13 130 pounds just moved to the biggest diamond and already hit 2 triples, 4 doulbes, 8 singles batt. average .620
Cons: NONE!!!!!!! GREAT BAT AND A CHEAP PRICE
T-bone
Pros: Great Bat Has great pop. I would buy it again
Cons: All the players want to use it
Brevard Blue Sox Coach
Pros: We have a lot of great composite bats and needed an aluminum bat. I love Easton Bats so I got this one and a Surge. The Rival is the Easiest bat to hit. No matter what type of swing your child has I promise you this bat will be great if you are wanting an aluminum bat.
Cons: Not really any true cons. Great bat!
Bayou Boy 19
Pros: Nice bat! Balls junps off bat. Hit four batting practices sessions with bat and seems to have the sane pop or more than last year model. No denting or paint chipping after 300 hits seems to be durable. Love the grip.
Cons: None
KS
Pros: Great bat! My 8 year old just got the 29/19 and he swings it better than the 28/18 prodigy. Good balance and nice grip with lots of pop!
Cons: none
rgv yankees
Pros: my kid loves the grip and the pop its a great bat he's 9 i got him the 28/18 he loves the colors of the bats he is a contact hitter make base hits but with this bat he is hitting line drives
Cons: big disapppointment on the first week of using it he dented the bat i send it back and the second one it broke on the top close to the top cap like i said my boy is 9 he plays all year long wish easton made a durable bat
tbssportsfan
Pros: My son likes the grip. Well balanced.
Cons: Not much pop to it but maybe we got a bad one. It had 3 dents after the first hitting session. My son is only 10 so I am surprised that it was not very durable. The worth prodigy we had(which is notorious for denting) went much longer than this bat did before denting.
mrkymrc
Pros: 28/18. Only done cage work. Seems to have similar performance as last years rival. Probably another month before we can go outside to see if distance is similar. no denting like others are reporting. 9 year old 4'7" 74 lbs.
Cons: none yet
wildcat
Pros: your service was unbelievable received bat in four days.
Cons: to cold outside to use it can't wait till spring
huntersdad11

Cons: Dented it on the first practice!! Warranty is good but bat on backorder!! Still waiting to get is back, its been 2 weeks already!! Disappointed!!
budman

Pros: great bat ,lots of pop.my son loves the grip on the bat.Has a massive sweet spot
Cons: none so far.just that all the other kids want to use it
warrior
Pros: My son is a 10 year old, 83 pounds. He is consistantly hitting the ball 185 feet with this bat! Good Pop!
Cons: none
Houstonian
Pros: We tested the Vexxum and TPX against it, and it seemed to give about 10 yards extra to my 9 year old. Like it very much. Every tourney kid we know has one, now. Seems to be the bat to have for 2011.
Cons: The 2011 model gets skinnier, much quicker than the 2010 model. Kids that have a tendency to hit on inside of bat may have a small bit of a challenge....but then it teaches to hit in correct spot.
Proud Dad
Pros: Large sweet spot. Great balance. Very durable.
Cons: Everyone wants one and this bat can be hard to find.
chuckyz
Pros: my son loves this bat.Just started hitting with it indoors.Big sweet spot and he likes the grip. Cant wait to start hitting outside with this bat.
Cons: none yet.
SoFlaFan
Pros: In South Florida and my 11 year old is playing winter league ball. Hit one over the fence at the 190 mark. Loves the bat-- great pop.
Cons: None so far.
Brian
Pros: Purchased the 27/17 which appears to be one of the hottest bats on the market right now. Great bat with a big sweet spot.
Cons: None
Plopper
Pros: My son is 11and he loves this new bat!He likes the way it just jumps off the bat
Cons:
batchessouth
Pros: Ordered the bat on Wednesday night, received it on Friday just in time for the first tournament of the season. Easy return on Sunday!
Cons: I want to say first off I never write reviews. However, I was extremely disappointed in the durability of this bat. My 10 year old son dented his 2012 brand new Rival on his second and third at bats of the season! His teammate cracked his brand new Rival during the second game. Temp was 80 degrees. Seems like the 2012 bats are not as durable as the older model. What a shame.
RockChalk
Pros: HUGE sweetspot! Son has been crushing the ball with this bat. Says it's even better than his one last year! No problems with durability or denting over the first 3 months.
Cons: He might grow out of it by the end of the season. Should have gone with a higher weight.
js
Pros: Balance is good, my 8 y/o is average height/weight. He swings it great. Ball pops off this bat. I will buy another when this one wears out.
Cons: Every kid on the team wants to use it.
Anonymous
Pros: Great bat!!!! The ball jumps off the face of the bat. Best bat on the market for the cost.
Cons:
DocHoliday41
Pros: This bat is incredable. I got it for my 10 year old (4'10" @ 112lbs). I've never seen him hit that far. Cleared 200 ft fence by at least 50'. Very comfortable for him, quickened his swing. Dosen't drop the head of the bat and hits to left now instead of center right (with power).
Cons: at that size and power get less of a drop. He dented it at the first hitting session we had. Other than that great bat.
RazzleDazzle
Pros: Great Balance, good pop, good grip. I would have given a 5 star if it wasnt for the denting.
Cons: Dents way too fast!! already sent for replacement just found out that there in back order from Easton and I have to wait like 3 weeks. Tourny coming up, looks like my son is going to have to use old faithful omaha TPX, not the same thing but sure does take a licking.
MV Warriors
Pros: Last years Rivals were like no other bat on the market. The pop was insane but there was a durability issue but I think the performance of the bat outwieghed it. Last summer if you were not using an orange and black Rival you were getting hammered by the teams that were.Even with the durability problems we are still going to use them
Cons: Just got 3 of the new BD 10XLs the 2 5/8 model that is legal in pony as they banned the 2 3/4 model. We did not even use them for any BP just 3 USSSA tournament games and by the end of the weekend they were shot. Dented beyond use. Myra at the warrenty cent is the bomb as she always trys to get them warrentied as fast as she can if they are in stock. The bat still has pop just dents fast
baseball dad
Pros: 27/17 for 7&8 team, everyone loves it, the ball flies off the bat, and outfielders cant get to it quick enough. Highly recommend! Will def keep this bat in bag, no denting problems, only chipped paint, but hey its a ball bat not piece of art!
Cons: Zero!
Anonymous
Pros: Great pop right out the box.Good balance
Cons: This is used by my 11 yr old son and I have had to send back two(2) already. First bat the end cap came off the second bat dented badly.
Bayouboy
Pros: Ball comes off this bat great. Half the team wants to use it.
Cons: After one weekend of use in a tournament, bat dented. Sent off for replacement. We play usssa rules and by 2012 big barrel bats are required to have a BPF stamp. When I called to return this bat they told me my replacement WILL have the stamp. Anixous to see for sure
T
Pros: Swings light, Great POP My kid loves this bat!
Cons: none so far
Blue Sox Coach
Pros: Bat has good pop and has good balance to it. Easy for all players to swing and has a big sweet spot. Definitely a bat the whole team can swing.
Cons: good pop but not great pop. Also dints easier than last years model.
Miller9
Pros: Great Pop, Awesome Paint Job, Good Grip, Easy to Swing
Cons: NONE
Evan's Dad
Pros: Great reaction off the bat. Most of the team loves it. My 11 yr old son leads the team in average with this bat. Bought a new one 1 inch longer and 1 ounce heavier for next year. Overall a great bat
Cons: Dented last year's model so I sent it in and Easton replaced it with this year's. Just sent that one in for replacement due to large dent. Great bats but I question the durability. Also backordered for the replacement and we have World Series coming up. Not sure if replacement will be here in time!!
Traveler
Pros: Bat is awesome. My son is 9 y/o and swings the 28/18. Had a great weekend at the WS hitting better than ever with this new bat.
Cons: Only con is that the whole team wanted to use the bat too!! Just kidding. We'll see how it holds up!
M Bronco player
Pros: I think that this bat has great pop.Very good swing speed.Easton is a great company!
Cons: Bat dented and i only used it for about 2 weeks. If it didn't dent so easily it would easily get 5 stars and I would probably use it next year.
nelsons dad
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop to it. My son used it in one tournament. We played about 6 games. He really likes it.
Cons: The bat dents easily.
golfbuddy98
Pros: First batting practice he was hitting as good as his last years Rival. Love the rival!!
Cons: looks just like the last years model except for the stamp!!
Tom
Pros: Love the weight and swing balance of the bat. We aren't fans of the Easton ping, know that upfront if your a "crack" fan as opposed to a "ping" fan.
Cons: Hopefully we are an outlier, but the bat dented in first day of use, twice, both the initial bat, and the warranty replacement bat. Very strange.
Ethanash
Pros: Big Monster Barrel. 27 inch -10 is awesome for my 8 year old. He swings it well and the bat has great pop. Most of all my son loves it.
Cons: None yet.
Ben1220
Pros: This bat has a lot of pop right out of the box.
Cons: I am extremely disappointed in the durability of this bat. We have been Easton customers for years and this is the least durable bat I have ever purchased. My 10 year old son hit two buckets of leather baseballs in batting practice and the bat was dented beyond use. Shortly thereafter, in addition to the denting, it cracked. I love the pop of the bat but it is not of acceptable quality.
go titans
Pros: one of the best bats out there for the money, playable in any weather.
Cons: it just isn't the original scandium alloy rival
mattbaseballdad
Pros: Great Bat! Purchased for my 7yr old who plays select ball. He is hitting better than ever before. Great pop! Have used this bat for several months now with absolutely no problems. Features the usssa stamp required for 2012. Would buy this bat again in the blink of an eye.
Cons: None we've found.
Travel baller
Pros: Swings easy for my 10 year. Well balanced. Nice grip.
Cons: This bat should not be called a senior league bat! It is one step above a coach pitch bat. If your kid swings fast don't get it. It is made to be swung slow, has pop when swung slow, dents when swung fast!
Alex
Pros:
Cons: My 10 year old son has dented this bat for the 2nd time. We sent the first one back and got another one and it now has a big dent in it. He is a big hitter, but not to the point of denting two bats in one month.
AllStarBaseball
Pros: I receieved this in the 32/22 and it has great pop right from the wrapper, but after a few weeks it dented 3 times. sent it back, got a new one, and it has atleast 10. Great bat if it was durable.
Cons: dent prone
Dad11
Pros: I bought this bat for my son in 8U in 27/17 after the sping season it was literally flat on 3 sides, but still had great pop. Sent it back to Easton this fall. They sent me back (2) new Rivals in 29/19.
Cons: I guess the fact that they sent me (2) shows they know the bat is not very durable. But still 3 bats for $179 is not bad.
NC
Pros: Got this bat for my son a couple of months ago. The grip is great, has good pop, huge sweet spot and is easy to swing. He has a couple of hours of cage time with it and so far no denting.
Cons: None so far.
urs
Pros: good grip. has alot of pop

Thomas
Pros: I love this bat. I'm not having any issues with denting. Bought in fall 11. Maybe problems were ironed out. Ball really jumps.

Tater
Pros: my son loves this bat he hit 7 HRS with it
Cons:
hobo
Pros: light with great pop
Cons: none
Rman
Pros: Great balance, large barrel
Cons: Made it only through 1 and a half seasons, dented during fall select ball. We paid $179....would have thought it would have lasted longer.
LONGALL$$
Pros: Terrific bat, the ball litrally just flies of the bat.
Cons: none so far
Saline Hornet
Pros: Easy to swing and decent pop. I have had good luck with other Easton bats. Titan and the V12.
Cons: Bat dented after minimum usage. I read other reviews mentioning the denting problem but thought I'd give it a try. That was a mistake.
Garrett Jeter
Pros: If you want a bat that produces great pop right out of the wrapper this is it. My son is almost 8, 76 pounds, 4'3", with what I would call above average swing speed. He hits line drives that are amazing with this bat. He also has an Easton surge but for some reason it produces more of an upward trajectory, maybe the balancing of the bat? Anyway, another kid on his team is flat out strong with the same results from this bat. You will like it.
Cons: None so far, seems to be holding up fine. at $120 though you could buy 2 at the price of 1 TPX z1000 slugger which is dead right out of the wrapper.
chris
Pros: this is a great bat with lots of pop and I would get it.
Cons:
megaredneck

Cons: Have not come across any at this time.
samman

marquettebaseball
Pros: Since last year was the first year on my high school varsity baseball team, I wanted to find a bat that I could rely on and I did. The Easton Rival had good pop on its massive sweet spot. I felt like I made solid contact with almost all of the balls I hit, producing line-drives. In addition, I really liked the grip of the bat. This grip was thicker than most which allowed me to have a firmer grasp on the bat and to be more in control of my swing. I think this bat was a steal at only $99.99. Overall, this bat allowed me to have a productive hitting season.
Cons: However, there were a few minor problems with this bat. The first problem that I came across while using this bat was when after about a week and a half the top of the bat came off. To fix this, I used 100% silicone to reinsert the top and stuck it back into the bat. I did not notice any difference in the pop or the weight of the bat after fixing it. The other negative that I encountered was that at first, the bat felt a little top heavy, but after about one or two sessions in the batting cages I adjusted to this feature. Despite these two minor problems, I was able to adjust and have found that the Easton Rival is a quality bat that can be used for varsity level baseball.
"The Miracle"
Pros: This bat is am amazing. With the killer graphics to the great pop, nothing can beat it! I already put 2 out of the park with it in 1 tourney.
