Questions and Answers for Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult
How does this bat's performance compare to the performance of the DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR bat?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult and DeMarini Voodoo BBCOR models will have very similar performance as they are both BBCOR certified. I'm 5'2" and I'm an ok hitter. Would the XL3 still be an ok bat for me?
That depends on your strength and swing speed. If you have above average strength and swing speed, the Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 would be a great option due to its end loaded swing weight.
My son is almost 15. He plays 14U travel select and will be in high school next year. He is 5'10" and weighs about 150 lbs. He had a very very successful hitting year in 13U with an Easton Rival -5. His Easton XL1 -5 just broke. He did not hit as well with it anyway. What drop 3 Easton bat would you recommend? What replaced the Rival?
The Easton S3 and Easton XL3 replaced the Rival. The S3 is a little more balanced than the Rival and would be recommended if your son has average strength and swing speed. The XL3 is more endloaded than the Rival and would be recommended if your son has above average strength and swing speed. These would be the top options as it's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.

My son is 5'7" 130 lbs. Is a 32/29 a good size or a 31/28?

The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 is an endloaded bat making it a great choice for power hitters with high swing speed. If you have never played before, or if you are unsure of your strength and swing speed, I wouldn't recommend the XL3 because of it's heavier, endloaded feel. A more balanced bat that is similar to the XL3 is the Easton S3.
I am 6' 3", 190lbs, and an 18 year old power hitter. Would you recommend the 2012 XL1 or 2012 XL3?
The Easton XL1 will be Eastons top of the line bat, but it is a two-piece design so it offers more flex. The XL3 will be a one-piece bat so it will have a stiffer feel. It is going to come down to if you want a two-piece or one-piece bat more.

I am a big power hitter. What bat would be better for power hitting for? The 2012 Easton XL3 or the 2013 DeMarini M2M? It's for high school ball.
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 has an extended barrel and a slightly end loaded feel. The DeMarini M2M also has an extended barrel, but has a stiff flex swing feel. Both would be great options for a power hitter, and they will have similar performance as they are BBCOR certified.
I am 5' 2", 135 lbs, and in 7th grade. What bat, size, and weight would be good for me? I usually am a single or double hitter.

The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB1X3 Adult is end loaded, so it should help your son stay behind the ball better while maintaining his power.
My son is 13 and more of a power hitter. He is interested in the Easton XL3, Rawlings 5150, and the DeMarini Vexxum. Which would you recommend?
The Easton XL3 is a bat made for power hitters so this is going to be by far the best choice for your son.
I am trying to figure out what bat would be the best for my son. He is in 7th grade, 13 years old, and 5'2" 82 lbs, and more of a contact hitter.
The Easton S3 in a 30" would be ideal for your son. The S3 is the preferred bat by many contact hitters.
I'm a college baseball player. I'm a center fielder and im 6'2" and 185 lbs what series of bat should I get?
This is a difficult question for us to answer as much of the decision comes down to the personal preference of the player and what bat type of bat they have used previously. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
My son is 5' 6" and about 155 pounds. What length bat should he be using?

I am a freshman in high school. I am 5'5 115 lbs. Should I get the Easton S3, or the Easton XL3. I am a contact hitter and have quick hands hitting?
The Easton S3 is going to be the better bat for you because of the balanced swing weight. Balanced bats are going to be better for any contact hitter even a player with quick hands.
Good evening, my son is 11 years old, 5'1 and 145 lbs, he is a strong hitter....what would be the best bat for him? the s-3 or the xl-3
If he has above average strength and swing speed, the XL3 is recommend due to its endloaded design.
Would a one piece or a two piece bat swing or feel more like wooden bat?
By nature, wood bats are stiffer than any two-piece bat. Thus, a one-piece non-wood bat is more similar to a typical wood bat.
Which would be the most balanced out of the XL 1,2,and 3?
With the XL series, all models will have a slight endloaded feel. If your wanting more of a balanced swing weight in the Easton BBCOR, you would need to look at the Eason S1. Here is the link to view more details on this model. http://www.justbats.com/product/2013-easton-s1-bbcor--bb13s1-adult/15981/
The bottom of the bat at the handle where it tapers out, is that taped that way or is it molded thicker?
That is the way the handle on the bat itself is designed... with a slight flare above the knob.
What is the difference between the Easton S3 and S4?
The Easton S3 has a 2 5/8" barrel, whereas the Easton S4 has a 2 1/2" barrel.
Not sure what length bat to buy for my husband. He is 6'2'' and weighs 220 and if this would be a god one for him. Plays in a summer rec league.
Based on his size, a 34" Easton XL3 is recommended. The XL3 is a great baseball bat with excellent pop that would be a good choice.
Dumb question, are BBCOR bats accepted in USSSA tournaments? Would I have any regulation issues with using BBCOR at a U13/u14 federation baseball level? My boy is going into U13 this year. When should he start swinging heavier bats -5/-3. I've been told to go right to -3 bats this year getting ready for next year's -3 requirement. I don't necessarily want to buy bats every year so don't know if I should get a -5 or a -3 bat and have him "choke up" a this year with a -3? You're thoughts are appreciated.
BBCOR Certified bats are legal in USSSA leagues and tournaments as well as High School or College. However, if your son is 13 I would recommend having him transition into swinging a -5 size. The -3 BBCOR may feel too heavy if he is not used to swinging it. The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat will also feel a little end loaded. That means the swing weight will feel a little barrel heavy. Check out this model: Marucci Black: MSB115 Senior League. It is currently on sale and will have a very balanced swing weight in a -5 size.
Need your opinion on what BBCOR bat and size for my son. He is HS freshman, 5-3,115#. He is very strong and quick. What length bat would be best? Can't decide between 31 or 32 inch. Also, should I go with a metal bat, or one of the bamboo bats?
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult.
I am looking to purchase a bat for our son. He is a freshman in highschool in Washington State. He is 5'8" and 126 lbs. He is very strong for his size and lifts weights 4 times a week, baseball, wrestling and football. He is a switch hitter. From the right he batted 3rd in the line up last year, with a lot of gap hits for doubles or triples. Not a home run hitter. From the left he hit lead off and second hitting singles and doubles. He is quick on the bases. What would you recommend for a bat? It must be legal to use for highschool - WA. What length - weight?
Based on his size, a 31" bat is recommended. As far as what bat is recommended, that's a tough one, as it comes down to the player. It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate.
My son is using the 31/28 Surge BBCOR. Which Easton bat took over the Surge name and the Surge XL?
The Easton XL2 BBCOR replaced the Easton Surge.
I am 15 years old, 5'7, and 170 lbs. I am a power hitter that hits it in the gaps. Which bat would be better for me the XL3 or a S3?
If you are a power hitter the Easton XL3 would be the better bat for you as it is end loaded.
Will a composite or composite/alloy combo provide any advantage over a straight alloy bat?
With Adult bats, it truly comes down to the preference of the player. Not one type of bats has been proven to outperform the others. However, two-piece bats often offer a little more protection against sting and vibration. Also, bats with alloy hitting surfaces do not require a break-in period, where bats with composite hitting surfaces require 150-200 hits before they reach their peak.
What bat would you think would be best for a 13 year old all around hitter going into high school next season, 2012 Easton S1,S2, S3 XL1 XL2, XL3 or 2012 DeMarini CF5?
The Easton XL1, XL2, and XL3 BBCOR are best suited for a power hitter because of the end loaded feel. If you are a contact hitter the Easton S1 BBCOR will provide the most flex and best pop of the three Easton Speed Series bats.
Which Easton bat would be better for a 13 year old 135 pounds: S1, S2, S3, XL1, XL2, or XL3?
Using the Bat Coach Feature on JustBats.com I was able to determine that you should be swinging a 31" bat. It also recommended that you should be swinging an Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League bat. The S3 will be a one-piece all alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat will be a high school/college Adult model. The XL series will feature a slight barrel heavy end load. Power hitters typically like this end loaded feel.
I'm not sure what bat or bat size to get. I'm 13 going to high school next season. I weigh 135 I'm thinking of getting the Easton XL2 2012 or Easton XL3 2012 or DeMarini CF5 2012. Help.
If you are a power hitter, a one-piece bat like the Easton XL3 BBCOR would be the best fit for you. If you are more of a contact hitter, the Easton XL2 or DeMarini CF5 would be better. However, the CF5 will require a break-in period because of the composite material. The Easton XL2 and Easton XL3 are both game ready.
Which is better performance wise this bat, or the Rip-It Air? What size bat should I get? I'm 5'11 170 pounds, and I am pretty strong, but I like a bat that I can swing fast.
Both the Easton XL3 and the Rip-It prototype BBCOR Air are going to be very close in performance, as for what size you should go with a 33" bat. You will be able to swing the Rip-It faster than the XL3 though, because of the Eastons end load.
I'm a freshman looking for a good bat. I'm well rounded and I have quite a bit of power and contact. What bat should I get the Easton S3 or the XL3?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat and the Easton S3 BBCOR Adult bat will be constructed very similarly. Both bats will be One-Piece all Alloy designs. The major difference in the two bats will be the swing weight. The S3 will feel very balanced when swinging through the zone. While the XL3 will have a barrel heavy feel. Typically, the power hitters prefer the XL3 because when contact is made they feel the power in the barrel. Gap and line drive hitters seem to prefer the S3 with its true balance. Both bats come with a 12 month warranty through Easton.
Is this bat more balanced or end loaded?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat will feel slightly more End Loaded. It will be a One-Piece all Alloy design. This bat is part of Easton's Power Brigade Series. Typically, this bat will be the choice of a player that hits for power. It will have a stiffer feel out of the wrapper and require no break-in period. This bat will have a 12 month warranty through Easton.
What is the difference between the Easton XL3 and the Easton S3?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat and the Easton S3 BBCOR bat models will be very similar. They will both be made up of One-Piece all Alloy material. The S3 is in Easton's Speed Series. It will be a more balanced bat. Typically, contact and gap hitters prefer this model. The XL3 will have an End Loaded Swing Weight that is preferred by power hitters that like the barrel heavy feel. Both bats will come with a 12 month warranty from Easton.
My son is 6'1" 185lbs, has above average strength and bat speed. He hit .450 using a 34" 31 oz wood bat in a tournament last year, but struggled a little more with his 33" 30 oz Marucci Black. What size XL3 would you recommend?
If he has struggled with his 33" bat, he might need to go to a 34". Here is a link to our Bat Resource Guide that can help you choose the right size bat. http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/selecting-a-baseballbat/
hi,im a freshmen in highscool and was wondering if this would be a good bat for me considering im 5'6 and weigh 120. thank you
Yes. The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 is a great bat with very good pop.
Does the XL3 have the same response as the XL2 or XL1 ?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat is a great choice for a One-Piece all Alloy material bat. The XL1 will be a Two-Piece all Composite design. The XL2 will be a Two-Piece Hybrid design. The handle will be Composite and the barrel will be alloy. The XL2 and XL3 (Alloy Barrels) will be the hottest right out of the wrapper from day 1. The XL1 (Composite Barrel) will require a break-in period. All bats will come with a 12 month manufacturer's warranty.
I'm in 9th grade and I'm looking for a BBCOR. I use my friends but I really want my own. But I'm not 100% sure I'll make the team. Please give me an honest opinion . Should I still use his or get my own. I know it's up to me but what is your opinion.
Using your friends bat would be the safe way to go. But if you really want to make the team you will buy a new bat. Buying a new bat will do a couple of things for you. First it will get you in the right positive mindset that you will be playing baseball in the spring and help to remove doubt from your mind. Secondly it will force you to work harder than you already do because if you invest the money and time, you will do everything in your power to make the team.
I need a BBCOR and have used a 33" wood bat in batting practice. I do like that heavy feel. I have great bat speed with my 31" 19 oz. DeMarini M2M. Do you think this would be a good choice?
Absolutely! The Easton XL3 will be a bit end loaded, so if you like the heavy feel this would be a good bat.
I don't know whether to get this XL3, the XL1, or XL2. I've heard they all have great pop and I like composite. It's also a lot of money is this bat worth buying over the XL1 or XL2?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat will be a one-piece all Alloy model. This bat will have a stiffer feel and an end loaded swing weight. The XL2 will be a two-piece hybrid bat. It will feature an alloy barrel and a composite handle. It will have an end loaded swing weight. The XL1 will be a two-piece all composite bat. This bat will require a break-in period of 100-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss. This bat will also have an end loaded feel. All of these models will have great pop. It will just take the XL1 a little longer to see it's best.
Is it balanced?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR is an end loaded bat. The Easton S3 BBCOR is a balanced bat.
What's the difference between Easton XL1, XL2 AND THE XL3 baseball bats?
The Easton XL1 has a two-piece fully composite design, the Easton XL2 has a IMX composite handle with a THT100 aluminum barrel and the Easton XL3 has a one-piece aluminum design.
Is this bat more end loaded than the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo?
The Easton XL3 will be similar in swing weight to the DeMarini Voodoo.
I am 5'6" and weigh 165 pounds. I am a line drive hitter with some power. What is the best bat for me?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR is an end loaded bat and better suited for a contact hitter. If you were looking for a balanced bat then I would go with the Easton S3 BBCOR.
What bat would you recommend for a power hitter the Easton XL3 or the new Rawlings 5150 Alloy?
Both the Easton XL3 and the Rawlings 5150 Alloy are one-piece designs that are well suited for a power hitter. Although the Easton XL3 has more of an extended barrel design with an end load.
I bought this bat, used it a little in the cage, and it doesn't ping very much anymore. Is there something wrong with the bat?
There may be something wrong with your Easton XL3. You should never use your good bats in the cages, because those dimpled balls are bad for your bat.
Historically I had great success with the Rival XXL drop 5 bat (one piece aluminum). I'm now in highschool and need a bbcor bat. Which Easton model is most similar to the Rival XXL? I am now 5-11 and 155lbs.
The Easton S3 is most similar to the Rival.
Hi, I'm currently swinging a Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha 31"-28oz. BBCOR and I'm looking to upgrade between the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo, Easton XL3 and Easton S3. What is going to feel the most like the Omaha?
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha BBCOR is a one-piece all Alloy bat with a center loaded balanced feel. The Easton S3 BBCOR: BB11S3 Adult is a one-piece, all aluminum bat that will have a good balanced feel to it's swing also. Where as the Easton XL3 BBCOR is an end loaded bat with a heavier barrel feel to it. The 2012 DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and an aluminum barrel.
I am 5-7 134 pounds and i have a decent bat speed. I am looking at either the S3 or the Xl 3 which is a better one for me. I have used rivals in the past and i like the feel of them. Which one should i get?
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL3 would be recommended. If you don't have above average strength and swing speed, the S3 would be recommended.
When does the new 2013 Easton bats come in? Is it November 15th?
Easton's 2013 line will be released on November 15th.
I play on a travel ball (select) team and we will sometimes go to a Usssa tournament. Does this bat have a Usssa 1.15 stamp of approval?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 is an adult bat that does not require a USSSA stamp. Only youth big barrel and youth small barrel bat require the new USSSA stamp.
Are easton bbcor bats made in the usa?
Unfortunately, Easton bats are not produced in the USA.
Would the XL3 feel like the 2012 Voodoo swing wise?
The Easton XL3 will be stiffer swinging since it is a one-piece bat that is fully alloy compared to the DeMarini Voodoo, which is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Voodoo will have more flex to it when it is swung. They both will both have end loaded swing weights.
What are the colors of this bat?
This bat will have black grip up to the yellow handle. Once up to the barrel it is all white with EASTON written in Black. The top of the cap is black with a tiny yellow ring around the outside.
What are the differences in the XL1, XL2, and XL3? Like what are they made of and what is the difference with endurance, power, etc.
The Easton XL1 is a two-piece fully composite bat, the Easton XL2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel), and the Easton XL3 is one-piece fully aluminum. They will all have the same sized sweet spot and weight distribution.
I know that the XL is supposed to have more power than the Speed series, but from the bats coming out on 11/15/12 which would you recommend the most for power? The XL1, XL2, or XL3? Are the only differences the one piece and two piece and the aluminum or composite? I hit with the XL1 at the LLWS but I didn't hit with the XL2 or XL3. I don't know which to get.
It's always recommend that a player stick with the same type of bat they have used in the past with the most success. In doing so, the player is much, much more likely to have continued success at the plate. Since you previously used the XL1, I would recommend sticking with that bat.
Is there a black and yellow Easton XL3?
The black and yellow will be the model which will be released 11-15-12
When are the yellow ones coming out?
The 2013 Easton XL Series and S Series will come out in November.
Would you recommend the Easton XL3 or the Easton S3 for a 5 foot 5 115 pound hitter?
The main benefit for the S3 is that is has great weight distribution which will give you better bat control which is good for contact hitters. The benefit to the XL3 is that it has an extended barrel and is end loaded which will help to hit for more power.
I used this bat before because one of my teammates has it and the first at bat I got an RBI single ( I don't know if it was XL1 2 or 3). Should I get it? I'm going to be a freshman. I'm 14 weigh 112 pounds and have a bat speed of 71. Also I don't think I can get any of the other bats due to money issues.
The Easton XL3 BBCOR will be more stiff than the Easton XL2 and is end loaded. The Easton XL3 is a perfect choice for a power hitter with good bat speed.
im 5'4 110 pounds with average bat speed but need to stay inside my 150$ budget is this bat right for me?
If you only have average bat speed, the Easton XL3 may not be the best choice due to it's endloaded feel preferred by strong hitters with high swing speeds. My recommendation would be the Rawlings 5150 Velo. It is a very well balanced bat that is within your price range.
I'm 6'2" and 200 pounds going into my sophomore year in high school. I'm a home run hitter and I was wondering what size bat you would recommend for me?
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 34" Easton XL3 BBCOR.
If i dented this bat and sent it back for waranty would i get the 2012 model or the 2013 model?
That would be a question better suited for Easton, since they take care of all warranties. Their phone number is 1-888-259-1297.
How does this bat compare to the typhoon in terms of balance?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 will have a slightly more endloaded fell compared to the Easton Typhoon.
What will the 2013 model cost?
Although Easton has not released the prices to us yet, I would assume it will cost $199.99.
What will the 2012 model cost?
We do not have an estimated price for the 2012 Easton XL3 BBOCR models.
I'm 13, 5 foot 8 inches and weigh 135. What length should I use?
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 31" 28 oz Easton XL3 BBCOR.
What will the new model look like?
We have not received the specifications from Easton indicating the color of the new line of bats.
When is the 2013 model coming out?
Easton is releasing its 2013 line, including the new XL3, in November.
My son currently has a youth Easton XL3 -11 (31/20). Due to his age/league requirements, he needs to use a BBCOR -3 starting this fall. Would you suggest a 31/28 (he is 5' 5", age 13)?
That would be a good option or if you think he might need something a little lighter you could look at the Easton S3 BBCOR. The Easton S3 and XL3 feature the exact same THT1000 aluminum, but the Easton S3 is offered in the 30" 27 oz.
When do the 2013 models of the XL series and S series come out?
Easton will release their 2013 models in mid-November.
is there any reason why this bat is priced so low? and is the 2013 xl3 going to be scandium alloy too?
We received our last batch of XL3 bats at a lower price from Easton. In turn, we are passing those savings on to our customers. The 2012 and upcoming 2013 XL3 bats are made from Easton's THT100 Aluminum.
I'm going into 7th grade school ball should i get this bat or the S3?
If you have above average strength and swing speed, the XL3 would be recommended. If you have average strength and swing speed, the S3 would be recommended.
With the XL series will the bats always feel top heavy, or will you get used to the feel? The XL3 is stiff right?
The Easton XL Series is designed for more of a power hitter with a long barrel and more weight towards the end. Ideally if you keep using it you would get used to it. The XL3 is a one-piece so it will be stiffer and not have the flex of the XL1 and XL2.
My son is 13 about 5'5" and 140 pounds. He is a strong power hitter. What would be a good bat size for him to use?
Given his height and weight he would be between a 32-33" bat. See our bat resource guide on the website: http://www.justbats.com/bat-resource-guide/selecting-a-baseballbat/
Can you take the grip off and make the end of the grip not so thick?
Yes. You are welcome to remove the grip and re-wrap it with a grip of your choice.
How does the XL3 compare to the RIP-IT Prototype 2?
Both the Easton XL3 BBCOR and the RIP-IT Prototype 2 are one-piece all alloy bats. Both are end loaded and will be similar in performance and feel.
What is the difference between the S2 and XL2 series? From the 3 series, does one series hit farther and is the S3 a bat that can hit home runs? Or is it just for shots?
The Easton S2 and XL2 are both two-piece, composite handle and alloy barrel bats. The Easton S3 is a one-piece, full aluminum bat. They all will have the same pop but the S Series is the balanced line and the XL Series is the end loaded line.
I had the Easton XL3 1.15 stamp and it was amazing, but going into high school now I have to get BBCOR, would that bat still perform the same going from 1.15 stamp to BBCOR?
None of the BBCOR bats will perform as well as the bats stamped with USSSA BPF 1.15 stamps. The Easton XL3 is one of the highest performing BBCOR bats on the market though.
I don't know whether to get an XL3 or XL1. I am a power hitter at 5'8" 140lbs, what size should I get?
The suggested length and weight for a player your size would be 32" 29 oz. Both the Easton XL1 and the Easton XL3 are great designs for power hitters because the weight is more distributed towards the end of the bat and they have extended barrels. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Should I get a XL3 or a Omaha
Both bats are going to be very similar in terms of features. The biggest advantage to the S3 is going to be its balanced swing weight. It will feel slightly lighter than the Omaha but other than that they are both going to be high performing one-piece alloy bats.
I am going to be a sophomore in high school next year. I swung the Easton Reflex my freshman year and hit 343. I am 5'8 145lbs and I am wondering if this bat is more top heavy then the Reflex? Also, should I drop down to a 32" 29 oz because I will be facing faster pitchers?
The Easton XL3 will be more top heavy or end loaded than the Easton Reflex. Most players drop down an ounce when swinging an end loaded bat for a quicker bat speed.
My son is 14 and currently uses a drop 5 XL3 and it has worked out great. He needs to switch to a BBCOR next year for high school. He is not that big (5'7", 125 lbs). Would it be good to stick with the XL3 or go to a S3 for a quicker swing?
The Easton S3 BBCOR would be a better choice for a young player making the transition to a BBCOR.
I am 13 and 112 pounds, 5ft 4 and I'm wondering if a 28oz 31in is good for me?
Based on your height and weight, a 31" 28oz bat would be a good option.
Can you use this in middle school?
Most middle schools allow adult BBCOR bats. It should be legal, but I recommend you confirm this with your coach first as not all middle schools abide by the same set of rules.
I am 5'9" and 145 lbs with a good swing speed. I'm 13 and going to be a freshman next year and wondering if I should go for the xl3 or the s3. Also, should i get the 32 inch model or the 33 inch model?
If you have good strength and above average swing speed, I would recommend the XL. If not, I would go with the S. Based on your height and weight, the general recommendation is a 32 inch model.
Which bat is better for hitting line drives, the Easton XL3, the XL2, or the S3? I'm considering each one but I'm not sure which one I should get.
The Easton S3 is a more balanced bat for a contact/line drive hitter.
Not sure about the information contained in the above questions. In several instances, I saw where Both the XL3 and the XL1 were referred to as one-piece construction, all alloy. Which one is it? Also, my son is 13, 5' 7", 180 lbs with great swing speed and power and is moving up to the Juniors division of Little League. Looking at the XL2 but don't see it in a -5. Would he be better off with the older Marucci Cat 5 (32" length) or the Marucci Black, or going with the approve all alloy XL3?
The Easton XL3 is a one-piece all alloy bat. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece all composite bat. Both the Easton XL3 and XL1 BBCOR bats are approved for Juniors Division. The Easton XL3 would be be best for a power hitter with good bat speed.
I am 5 feet tall and weigh about 100 pounds. I used the 2010 DeMarini Voodoo last year and I had the best hitting season of my life. I want to switch to the Easton Power Brigade. I want a one-piece bat. Which bat would be better for me the Easton XL3 or the Easton S3?
The Easton XL3 and the Easton S3 are both top of the line one-piece fully aluminum bats. The Easton XL3 has the weight more distributed towards the end of the barrel and has an extended barrel design, whereas the Easton S3 has the weight distributed more evenly throughout the bat which is designed to increase bat speed. Here is a link to further compare the two designs. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
How does this bat compare to the Easton XL2? If I have the money should I get the Easton XL2? Do all BBCOR bats have the same amount of pop?
The Easton XL2 and the Easton XL3 are both high performing BBCOR bats. The main difference is that the Easton XL2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel) and the Easton XL3 is one-piece fully aluminum bat. Not all BBCOR bats have the same amount of pop. Here is a link to take a closer look at the differences. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
Does the temperature affect the durability of the bat? i live in Illinois and the temperature gets cold. Also are the barrel sizes/sweet spot the same on all the XL bats?
The problem is not the bat, but the ball. Cold temperatures make the composition of the ball denser and could put unusual stress on the bat walls which can result in denting. This can occur with composite or alloy barrels in colder temperatures.
Are the barrel sizes the same in all the Easton XL BBCOR bats?
Yes all of the Easton XL series bats will have the same barrel size. The difference is the composition of the 3 bats in the Easton XL series. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece fully composite bat, the Easton XL2 is a two-piece hybrid design (composite handle/aluminum barrel), and the Easton XL3 is a one-piece fully aluminum. Here is a link to further compare all three bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/
How do the Easton XL3 and the Easton Omen compare and how are they different?
The Easton XL3 is a one piece full alloy design and it is going to have an end loaded swing weight. The Easton Omen is a two piece full composite bat that will have a more balanced swing weight. Both bats have a lot of pop and very good durability.
What bat is better for power and is more durable, the easton power brigade xL2 or the easton power brigade xL3?
Both the Easton XL2 and the Easton XL3 are durable bats, but the one piece design the XL3 will provide will be more geared towards what power hitters would like.
I am 13 5'3'' and 120 pounds I am more of a line drive hitter. Would you recommend the S3 or XL3?
Either the Easton S3 or XL3 would be a good choice for you and the decision basically comes down to whatever weight distribution you prefer in your bats. The main difference between these two is the S3 is a more balanced bat, while the XL3 has an end loaded feel.
(Power hitter with fast swing) Currently using Marucci Black 32". I am 14 and 147 pounds, what size I should use for this Easton?
Without knowing your height, it is really hard to say what size Easton XL3 you should use. If you are comfortable with the 32" Marucci Black that you are currently swinging, you may want to stick with a 32" 29 oz. bat. To get a better idea of what size bat you should be swinging, please check out our Bat Coach feature to find the perfect size bat.
I am 5'3 and 110 lbs, in middle school and we have to use BBCOR certified bats. Should I get this bat?
The Easton XL3 BB11X3 is a very good BBCOR bat and is getting great reviews. The XL series bats have a longer barrel than many other BBCOR bats which creates a more end-loaded feel. The BB11X3 is a great bat for players looking to add more power to their swing.
I am a 6'0 210 lbs, I am deciding the XL3 or the Marucci Black? I have alot of power, I don't know which one is a better bat for me?
The XL3 is more endloaded. The Marucci Black is more balanced. If you have above average strength and swing speed, I recommend the XL3. If you have average strength and swing speed, I recommend the Black.
Would you recommend this for a power hitter or the Marucci Black? Also, I'm about 5' 11 155 lbs what size would you recommend?
I would recommend both for a power hitter. However, the XL3 has more of an endloaded feel which many power hitters often prefer and have great success with. I would recommend a 33" 30oz model.
Is the XL3 -5 BBCOR? Our middle school can use drop -5's, I guess technically Senior League bats. Thanks
The XL3 Senior League bats will not be BBCOR certified. Only adult -3 models will have that BBCOR certification.
I am 5'3", 170lbs and a freshman. I am a great power hitter and I was wondering does this bat have the pop?
The Easton XL3 BBCOR: BB11X3 Adult bat is a great fit for a power hitter. The XL3 is a one-piece alloy design that has a lot of pop and is one of our hottest selling BBCOR bats.
I'm 6'4 210lbs and was wondering which bat I should try? I've used the S2 and like it but maybe there might be something better you think?
The BB11X3 is a very good bat just like the S2. The BB11X3 is a one piece bat and for a player of your size will give you more power due to less flex. We suggest trying the XL3.
I'm 6'1 130lbs and was wondering what would be better the S3 or XL3?
If you are a stronger hitter with high swing speeds, I would recommend the XL3. If you have average strength and average swing speed, I would recommend the S3.
Is this approved for Little League Juniors?
Yes, the Easton XL3 BBCOR is approved for Little League Juniors.
Would you recommend this bat or the Omen for a power hitter type?
The Easton XL3 replaced the Easton Omen. The only difference is the Easton XL3 has a slightly longer barrel. Both are end loaded, great for a power hitter.
How does this compare to the S3?
These two bats are very similar. The main difference between them is the S3 is a more balanced bat and the XL3 has an end loaded feel and extended barrel and sweet spot. Typically more power hitters prefer the end loaded feel of the XL3 while, contact hitters or those that may not have much natural power prefer the S3.
My son is 6'3", 195lbs and in the 7th grade. He is a power hitter. He can hit to every field. Just wondering should he use the XL2 or XL3?
One piece bats like the Easton XL3 BBCOR are best suited for a power hitter.
How does the balance of the XL3 compare to the balance of the Demarini Vexuum?
Yes. The Vexxum also has a slight endloaded feel like the XL3.
Is the XL3 top heavy or evenly weighted?
The XL3 has an end loaded feel to it and does not really feel balanced. If you are looking for a similar bat that will be balanced I would check out the Easton S3.
Whats the diffrence beetween this and Rival?
The Rival is more of a balanced bat, while the XL3 has an end loaded feel. If you are looking for something similar to the Rival, I would suggest checking out the Easton S3. This is the model Easton has produced to replace the Rival.
Is this bat any better than the Rival or should I spend 100 less on the Rival?
The XL3 will be more end loaded than the Rival. If the player is a power hitter and already has good bat speed, we would recommend the XL3. Someone who needs good bat speed would benefit from the Rival or S3.
My son is 5'8'' and 140lbs. Good hitter. Been using Rival -5. High school next year, based on size and his hitting anywhere from 3rd spot to 5th spot, which would you recommend? XL or S?
If your son has been using the Rival, I would suggest using the S3. This is the bat that Easton produced to replace the Rival. The S series will be pretty balanced like the Rival, while the XL series is a little more end loaded.
Compare this to the xl2 bbcor as same size etc..please be in depth because im recommending this bat over the rip-it!!!
The XL3 is a one-piece, all alloy bat. The XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The XL2 will offer a little more flex than the XL3. Both will be slightly endloaded making both great bats for stronger hitters.
I'm a 6'4" freshman and was wondering if I'd be better off getting the XL3, S3, or the DeMarini Vexxum.
Each bat is a good choice. The S3 and XL3 are both one piece alloy bats, while the Vexxum is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The main difference in choosing between these comes down to what kind of hitter you are. Most power hitters usually like the stiffness in a one piece bat, while contact hitters like the flex offered in a two piece bat. Other than that, these three bats are all very similar and will perform just about the same. You can't really go wrong with either!
I was wondering should I get the xl3 or the s3 I'm more of a power hitter I'm 6'1 freshman also should I get a 32 or 33 ?
The XL3 is end loaded and would be perfect for a power hitter. Based on your height, we recommend a 33".
Hi, i am a freshman in highschool playing sopmore team. I am 5'8" 140 pure muscle, should i go with this, the s3, or the vexxum? im not a power hitter or contact hitter. im kind of in between
If you're tweener, I would lean towards the S3. It will maybe even allow you to improve your swing speed to add a bit more pop.
Is the weighting exactly the same for all the XL bats or does the materials effect the weighting?
There will be slight differences, but it'll hardly be noticeable.
Which bat is better the XL3 or the XL1?
Well the Easton XL3 is a two piece full composite and the Xl1 is a one piece all alloy. Overall they are both very good bats its based more of what kind of material you want your bat to be made of.
My son is 12 and used the Omen 2 1/4" 32-22oz with great success. What bat would be most similar in feel and perfomance?
Based on his experience with the Easton Omen I would suggest either the Easton S1 or the XL1 models. I suggest these two because they are the closest construction to the Omen.
What is the difference between this bat and the S3? Which one will feel lighter and more balanced?
The Easton XL3 is going to have a slightly larger barrel but have an more end loaded feel. The S3 is designed more for your contact hitters who prefer the balanced swing weight.
Looking at this bat and the Easton S3 BB11S3 bat. For a smaller freshman H.S. player starting out with a BBCOR bat, what are the advantages & differences with each bat?
Both the Easton S3 and the XL3 are going to be great bats. The S3 is going to be a pretty good choice for contact hitters, is pretty evenly balanced, and helps with a faster swing speed. The XL3 is going to be a good choice for power hitters, it is a little more end heavy, and has an extended barrel for a larger sweet spot. Both bats are really good choices, and you can't go wrong with either.
im one of the smaller guys on my varsity team and dont have alot of power but i have one of the fastest swing speeds, which one would be best for me.
This bat will have a slight end loaded feel, if you can swing an end loaded bat this bat will be perfect for you. The S3 will be a more balanced feel if you do not like end-loaded bats.
Which bat would perform and feel like a wood bat. I'm considering the XL3, XL2, and the Marucci black. I have used bothe the Black and XL3, and like both. I'm 6' 4" 215 senior who bats in the 4 hole. I hit deep line drives and have good power. Which bat would you recommend?
I would recommmend the XL1. It will have the most flex, like a wood bat.
i'm so dumb, how does the xl3 compare to the omaha. i know the xl1 is composite and the 3 isn't, so i know there will be a difference in feel, but as far as apples to apples which one do i go with omaha or xl3?
They both will be similar in performance. The XL3 is going to have more of an endloaded feel while the Omaha is going to be a well balanced bat. It would come down to personal preference on if you like the endloaded feel or the balanced swing weight.
My son hits with a little power and took B.P with the xl1 said he loved it, cant afford it, was going to pick up omaha, until he swang the easton. How does this bat compare to the omaha?
The XL1 is going to be a two piece composite barrel bat. This is going to be the Easton's top of the line bat. The Omaha is going to be Louisville Sluggers durable and very well performing alloy.
is flex the only diffrence between the 2 piece xL2 and the 1 piece xL1???
Yes, that is the biggest difference. Generally speaking, power hitters tend to lean toward 1 piece bats and contact hitters usually prefer 2 piece.
is this baseball bat balanced in weight?
This bat will have an end-loaded feel and is not balanced.
I was just wondering What bat would be best for my son The easton or voodoo bbcore
It would really depend on the type of batter he is, because these are 2 totally different designs. If he is a power hitter, I'd go with the Easton, if he is a contact hitter, I'd go with the Voodoo.
I have quick bat speed and a little bit of power. Should i get the xl3 or the s3?
If you have good bat speed, I would go with the XL3.
whats the difference between the XL2 and the XL3 beside the price and designs (and obviously the name)?
XL2 is a 2 piece hybrid, XL3 is a one piece alloy.
xl3 or exogrid 2?
It is really just a personal preference, the XL3 is going to have more flex but will be a little more end loaded, the exogrid 2 will be stiffer but will have more of a balanced feel
is there any difference between the XL2 and the XL3?
The XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle. The XL1 is a one-piece, all alloy bat. The XL1 will be stiffer than the two-piece XL2. Both have similar weight distribution.
xl3 or rip it prototyope 2?
Tough call but yes, in that matchup I'd choose the XL3.
Does the white have a bigger barrel then the black
Barrel sizes are the same.
My son is 14 and a contact hitter. We are looking for a new bat, he has used Demarini Composite's the past several years. From what I am reading the XL3 might be the best option. What are the advantages of full composite or composite handles?
The XL3 is a one piece all alloy. There is no break in required. The extended barrel and the weighting gives you more mass, and Mass=Power.
Please explain the difference and what it stands for with the XL3,XL3,XL1. Also, S3,S2, & S1 along with BB11X3 etc...
The XL3 is a one-piece all alloy bat with an end-loaded feel. The XL2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle with and end-loaded feel. The XL1 is a two-piece all composite bat with an end-loaded feel. The S3 is a one-piece all alloy bat with a very balanced feel. The S2 is a two-piece bat with an alloy barrel and composite handle with a very balanced feel. The S1 is a two-piece all composite bat with a very balanced feel. The XL1 and S1 are Easton's top of the line and best performers. The XL2 and S2 are their second best performers. The XL3 and S3 are third in Easton's pecking order. Due to their end-loaded feel, the XL bats are better for strong hitters with high swing speeds. Due to their low swing weight and balanced feel, the S series are better for contact hitter or players looking to increase their bat speed.
I am going to be a freshman in high school and have been more of a power hitter in previous years, but heading in to high school I will probably not be relied on as much for power. Would the Easton xl be better or would the rip it prototype II be better? I have Heard the rip it is a bit more balanced but is still an end weighted bat.
The Rip It is going to be more of what you are looking for. The Easton XL is going to be a bat that is going to be more geared toward power hitters. The Rip It Prototype is going to be more for contact hitters.
For a power hitter, and considering pop, would the XL3 or the Xl2 be better? What are the pros and cons of a two piece vs. a one piece bat?
Both bats will be good choices, The XL3 is a one-piece bat which is designed for power hitters. A two-piece bat will be more for contact hitters due to there being more flex.
For a power hitter, which bat would be best- The Easton XL3 or the Rip-it Prototype II?
I'd go with the XL3. Power hitters generally prefer 1 piece bats.
For a power hitter would you recommend the XL3 or the Rip-it prototype II?
Personally, I like the XL#, the sweet spot is HUGE!
Is this bat high school legel and is it a softball or baseball bat?
This is a baseball bat and is legal for high school play in 2012.
will these bats be legal to use during the upcoming season with the changes in the rules of what bats you can use?
Yes. This bat does meet those standards and will be legal.
What is better the easton xl3 or the rawlings 5150?
They are similar in that they both 1 piece alloys. The Easton has has a huge sweet spot!
Would either of these bats be good for a contact hitter?
I'm not sure which other bat you're comparing this one to, but the S2 BBCOR bat would be better suited for contact hitter than the XL3.
what is the difference between a one piece or a 2 peice
One piece bats are generally preferred by power hitters, or people that like a stiffer flex. Most 2 piece bats offer a bit of a flex which gives like a trampoline effect.
Does the xl3 have the same barrel length as the xl2
Yes. Both barrels will be the same length.
The XL one and the xl3 what is the main difference?
The XL1 is a two-piece all composite bat. The XL3 is a one-piece all alloy bat.
I am a power hitter trying to decide between the XL3 and the Demarini vexxum. Which bat would you say i should get? I think that I prefer end loaded bats. I like the composite idea of the Vexxum though.
If you prefer the composite handle/alloy barrel of the Vexxum, then that would be the way to go. The XL3 is a end heavy bat but is a 1 piece all aluminum bat.
hey, i bat lead off on my varsity highschool team and am not a huge dude, i think i generate pretty good bat speed for my size. I was wondering if i should get the XL series or the Speed series
If you are wanting more bat speed and still have great power, I would go with the Speed series.
I am a power hitter but i like having a balanced bat and more bat speed then end loaded. i currently have the 2012 omaha and its too end loaded for me i dont like it. will the xl3 be too end loaded? would you suggest the xl3 or the s3?
If you prefer balance, the S3 might be the one you would like.
are these bats besr certified too?
No, no more bat will be BESR certified.
Which bat has the most simalarities to the omen?
The S1 replaced the omen. The XL3 is end loaded unlike the Omen.
I am 6' 165 lb 13yr old power hitter and high average, using a Rival-5 32". What benefits could I expect with the XL3? Longer blasts?
The XL3 is slightly endloaded and has a longer barrel for a bigger sweet spot. This is a great bat for power hitters.
Is the XL3 or S3 better for a single and double hitter
The S3 is going to be better suited for a contact hitter. The XL3 is endloaded and better for power hitters.
I am trying to decide between the XL3 and the S3. I hit shots in the gap and hit the ball deep sometimes. Should i get the S3 or the XL3? Is the XL3 slightly end loaded or VERY endloaded?
The XL3 is going to be more for more power hitters and is slightly end loaded. The S3 is going to be for those who need quicker bat speed.
I am 13yrs old 5 ft 7 what would be better a xl3 or a s3
Both are good, but it will depend on if you want an endloaded bat (XL3) or a bat with faster swing speed, the S3.
i am a contact hitter but i also have good power. i have had end loaded bat before and they really please me but i can use them. should i get the s3 or the xl3
Both are very good bats, the main difference between the two is that the S3 is going to have more weight evenly distributed throughout the bat, the XL3 has a little more weight in the barrel, the same material is going to be used in both of those bats so the main difference is just going to be the feel.

About how long will this bat last if I only use in in games. No one else will be using it.
The average lifespan of a bat is around 2 years but there are a lot of factors that play into how long a bat lasts, there is really no way of calculating the lifespan of a particular bat.
Win is Easton coming out with a XL 2 5/8 Drop 10 Bat with a USSSA Stamp For are 9's and 10's baseball Team;s

Which bat is better overall? The Easton XL3 BBCOR or the Marucci Cat 5 BBCOR.
Both are going to be similar. They are both 1 piece all alloy bats. Nice balance, great pop. Both are great bats.
Which bat is better overall? The Easton XL3 BBCOR or the Marucci Cat 5 BBCOR.
Both are going to be similar. They are both 1 piece all alloy bats. Nice balance, great pop. Both are great bats.
Which bat has more pop? The easton xl3 or the marucci cat 5? Which would you say is better?
The both are alloy, however the XL3 is slightly end loaded, which is used mostly for power hitters. The Marruci Cat5 is balanced, and lighweight. They both have good pop.
Would you say this bat has more pop than other BBCOR's?
All composite bats tend to have more pop, but for an all alloy bat this will have great pop. It is also slightly end loaded with an extended barrel.
I need a BBCOR bat and this is my first year playing baseball. Will this bat give me magical powers to hit homeruns every at bat?
Well as far as the Magical powers,no guarantees. But a good bat, most definitely!
Is the xl3 better than the xl2?
No, they are both good bats, the XL2 is goin going to be a half and half bat with a composite handle and an alloy barrel, the XL3 is going to be a one piece all alloy
Is there a big difference in pop between the Easton XL2 and the Easton XL3
No, there is not a difference in pop, the main difference between the XL2 and the XL3 is just going to be the feel of the bats. They should perform very similarly
I'm a power hitter and i have always liked one piece better but would you suggest the xl3 or the xl2
Both of the bats are going to be great options. The Xl3 is going to be closer in feel to a one piece bat and the xl2 is going to feel more like a two piece bat
