Description

The next generation of Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its second season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece IMX Composite/THT100 Scandium Alloy hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Personalize Your Power! The XL3 features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive 12 Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League 31/26 CoachSC coach

Pros: Great bat, Lots of pop. Bat is end loaded with weight more to the end of the bat. My son is 12 years old, 5' and 95 lbs. Did not have any problems moving to this bat from his Voodoo 30/21. Only other bat he liked more was the XL1 -5 but for the money you can go wrong with this bat.

Cons: The bat is yellow. Other then that nothing.

Bomb-Maker DC Baseball Dad parent

Pros: Bought this because the Voodoo doesn't come in a 30/25. Now we're glad! 13U player had no difficulty moving from a -8 balanced bat to this -5 bat. Noticed the end-load, but still thinks the XL3 swings smoothly. Hits the ball deep with this bat.

Cons: None so far. Teammates dig the bright yellow color, so not a con.

awesome george player

Pros: love the tape and feel of the bat in general. in my first game of 12u with this bat, i was 3 for 3 with a double a single and a walk off homerun. the rest of the season i led the team in almost every category except i tied with my teamate in homeruns. this bat has soooo much pop its unbelievable. i would recommend this bat to big kids who can actually get around with this bat.

Cons: this bat is yellow and if u dont get the bat around in time it will hit the handle which hurts a lot

Best big barrel bat for power hitters Jason S player

Pros: Honest review: This bat has the most pop of any other big barrel bat out there, the sweetspot is huge and the -5 gives it plenty of weight in the barrel to get a great feel on each hit. I have hit countless balls as far as 380 ft, farther than I have ever hit before. I still have not noticed a drop in performance or pop and it has been a year and a half since I bought it. I used it in two different leagues for a full season, both in games and in the cages, and many of my other teammates used it and it is still hitting bombs. I highly recommend this bat to any power hitter out there who wants to hit for more distance, regardless of what they have used in the past. I cannot say enough about how much I love this bat, it is amazing. Basically, if you are a power hitter looking for a big barrel bat, do not hesitate and think twice, just buy this bat NOW!

Cons: It cannot last longer than one full season of continuous use, but that is the new standard for all bats these days. The vibration is a noticeable issue, but I did not care about that at all because the pros of the XL3 completely outnumber the cons.

Great bat RBI 9 player

Pros: This bat has tons of pop. I swing it in a -5 32in 27oz. I was hitting bombs dead center well over 320ft and I'm only about 5'6 and weigh 115 pounds. This is probably the best bat I've had yet with much pop.

Cons: None

Easton xl3 2014 model Ethan Tay player

Pros: This bat is end loaded which is good if you have the strength to swing a heavy bat. If you are a contact hitter buy a bat in the speed series with Easton. But, for you power hitters don't think twice about getting this bat. It is definitely worth the price and I have never even thought about returning this bat. The -5 is probably best for a really big and strong 11u kid, a 12u kid that has power, and almost any 13u kid unless he or she isn't very strong. I have used this bat in the cage and in games for about a year, and it still has the tremendous pop it comes with.

Cons: None so far!

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat: SL14X35? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Is this bat good for a contact hitter? baseball king
The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League is an end loaded model and better suited for power hitters.
John H
Which is a better all around bat? The RIP-IT -5 or the -5 2014 XL3? Doty
Both models are very different. The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League has an end loaded swing weight and is better suited for power hitters. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1405 Senior League is one of the more balanced models on the market and is best suited for contact hitters.
John H
What are the outside temperature restrictions for using this bat? Rick
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League, in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
What about the XL3 for a contact hitter with acceptable good power? marco
The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League will be a great option for a player who already has great bat speed and wants to increase their power.
Jason
Would you recommend this bat for a 5'7'', 120 lbs, 13 year old who has slow hands but makes significant power when contact is made? He will be attending high school next year so would it be ideal for a -5 so he can prepare for the -3 in high school? dan
Moving to a -5 would be a good idea because it will help him prepare for the -3 requirement in high school. The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League is end loaded and may not be the best choice since he does have a slower swing speed. A balanced bat may be a better choice for him.
Tori
Will this bat have better pop, regardless of the end load or balance, than the Marucci Team? patrick
The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League has more power because of the added weight to end of the barrel. The end loaded swing weight is what helps generate the extra power compared to a balanced bat.
Jason
I'm trying to buy my son a bat for Babe Ruth and I think the rules state if composite barrel has to be BBCOR certified. I am looking at the Easton (-5) but can't tell if it can be used? Patrick
The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X35 Senior League has an alloy barrel and can be used in Babe Ruth.
Kara
Whats the difference between the 2013 XL3 and the 2014 XL3? Woody
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) Senior League and the 2013 Easton XL3 (SL13X35) Senior League are identical except for the cosmetic look.
Jason
I am looking at this bat for my son for Pony League - Pony division but it must be BBCOR certified. Does this one qualify? Paul
No, the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is not BBCOR certified. BBCOR will only be available in a -3 drop. You will need to look at the 2014 Easton XL3 BBCOR ( BB14X3) model.
John
My son is playing at SCABA and they say you have to have USSSA stamp. My son wants to know if you can use it still if it has BBCOR stamp on it? rolo
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) features the new USSSA stamp so it will be legal for play in SCABA. Typically, if a bat is BBCOR certified, it will not be USSSA certified as well so it would not be legal for play if the league requires the USSSA stamp.
Tessa L.
Is this legal in little league? Nashter24
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is an alloy bat and therefore legal in the Intermediate and Junior League divisions of Little League.
Gary T.
Hello my son plays on his middle school baseball team and we are wondering if he would be able to use this bat? Garrett
Each league is different in terms of which barrel diameters they allow. The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is considered a Big Barrel bat and features a USSSA 1.15 BPF sticker. If you are unsure of which bats are legal, the best course of option is to consult your team coach or league commissioner.

Both the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X15) have the same amount of end load to them.
Kyle
What is the difference between the 2014 Easton XL3 and 2014 Easton XL1? james
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X15) are different in the material that they are made of and their overall design. The XL1 is a two-piece fully composite design. The XL3 is a one-piece alloy design.
Patrick
My bat shipped out to come to my house at 6:19 am what time do you think it will come? Jackson
We cannot guarantee a delivery time on an order, however most home deliveries arrive at the end of the day they are scheduled, which can be as late as 7-8pm at time.
Kyle J.
Does this bat have a composite handle or is it all alloy? Ballislife24
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is a one-piece all alloy bat.
Kyle J.
Is this Bat legal in USSSA? beat ball
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) Senior League features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is legal for play in USSSA.
Jason
Would you recommend this for me? I am 5'8 211 lbs. Marcus
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is a great bat. It is a end loaded swing weight so it would do really well for power hitters.
Zach
Is this eligible to be used in freshman High School baseball? turbo
Typically, all High School play requires BBCOR Certified bats. The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) will not be BBCOR Certified so it would not be legal.
Kelby
Is it composite? ccrespi4
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is a one-piece alloy bat.
Kara
How does this compare and contrast to the new DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD? Baseball Player
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is a one-piece alloy bat. The 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD (DXVD5) is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. Both bats have a stiff feel and are end loaded.
Kara
Would you recommend this bat for me I'm 5'0 105 pounds baseball beast
The Easton XL3 (SL14X35) is a great bat. I would recommend a 30" length in the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35).
Zach
I am 5'2", 110 pounds. I was wondering, is this a good bat for me? I play a lot of travel ball, but do you think this bat will work well against a faster pitcher? heater
The 2014 Easton XL3: (SL14X35) will be an excellent option if you are a power hitter. This model will be a one-piece alloy design, and will be slightly end-loaded. Therefore, it will be heavier towards the end of the barrel. The 2014 Easton XL3: (SL14X35) will be very hot out of the wrapper, and will also have a massive sweet spot. If you do not have any problems swinging through with a slight end-load, I don't think you will have any problems swinging against a faster pitcher.
Merritt
I am 5'8" and I am a power hitter. I was thinking about the 32 inch 27 ounce XL3. I usually hit off of fast pitchers. Would this be a good bat for me? boy
The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) Senior League is a terrific bat for any power hitter. The one-piece design and end loaded swing is ideal for creating power. The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is by their height and weight. However, players that are 5'8" typically swing a 31". For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I'm 5'0" and 127 pounds. What size bat should I get? And what bat do you think would be a good combo with this bat? Iman
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) Senior League. Another solid bat is the 2014 Easton S500 (SL14S500) Senior League. It has a balanced swing weight though.
Jason
Is the XL3 a good model for a lead off/contact hitter? titanplayer
The one-piece alloy design of the 2014 Easton XL3: (SL14X35) is an excellent choice for power players. It will also have a slight end-load, which is a characteristic typically preferred by power hitters. As a contact hitter, I would probably suggest a two-piece balanced design, such as the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: (DXVX5).
Merritt
Is this legal for the Junior League division? Braiden
The 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) is legal for play in the Junior League of Little League. The XL3 has a 2 5/8" barrel and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp making it legal for play.
Jason
Are there any other senior league drop 5 bats from other manufacturers available that are considered "end-loaded" other than the Easton XL3? JW
We do not currently have any end-loaded style -5 bats other than the 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35).
Patrick
I see this bat is discontinued. Why was it discontinued and what would you recommend in its place? Alan
Easton has discontinued the 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X35) because the 2015 Easton XL3 (SL15X35) is set to be released 09/05/14. I'd recommend upgrading to the 2015 model when it is released. Easton has re-designed the XL3 as they are now using their Hyperlite Matrix Alloy. The Hyperlite Alloy provides not only an increase in power and control, but has tremendously improved its durability.
John H
Is the Easton 2014 XL3 SL14X35 permitted for use in Little League's 50/70 division? Steve
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) is legal for use in the 50/70 division of Little League. The XL3 features an alloy barrel and has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp.
Jason
Where is the option to buy the bat on this page? Dave
It would typically be on the right hand side of the page. But we run a live inventory on the site, so we regrettably do not have any sizes left of this 2014 Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35).
Mac
My son just turned 13 years old and is about 5'1" and 100 pounds. He is a great contact hitter. We are deciding between this bat and the Demarini Vexxum. Which would you recommend? Colin
The Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVX5) features a two-piece hybrid design that is ideal for contact hitter due to the additional flex through the zone generated by the two-piece model. Additionally, it offers a composite handle and alloy barrel.
Joe
Can I use this for Pony league? johnny baseball
The Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) has a 2 5/8" barrel diameter and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp. It is legal for play in the 13-14 year old division and below for Pony league.

Brandon

Can this bat be used in the Williamsport Interemediate 50/70 2015 tournament? Patrick
The Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) is approved for that division of Little League play so I would assume that it would qualify for that level of tournament play unless the rules change for tournaments.
Patrick
Is this bat approved for Babe Ruth play? chris
The Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) does not show the approval on the bat, however you would have to check with your league to make sure.

Would the Easton 2015 XL3 be a better bat or the Easton 2014 XL3? If so what's the difference? Gappy
The Easton XL3 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X35) and the 2015 will both be excellent bats. The difference is going to be the alloy material. The 2014 uses the THT100 Scandium and the 2015 uses their new Hyperlite Matrix alloy.
