How do I figure out which turning model of 33" MLB180 I have now? When using a fish scale to compare with other 33" bats the weight are very close but this one feels way lighter with a much different balance point. Even bats weighing several oz less on scale had a heavier perceived swing weight. When standing different bats side by side vertically & looking down from the knob end, the one I like has more diameter below the logo towards the knob to about the dipping line. This particular bat has transformed my batting percentages.

do wood bats also have to be stamped with and approved for BBCOR ?
There are some wood bats that are stamped with BBCOR on them, such as the Baum Bat AAA Pro. You would need to check with your High School first before purchasing

Most wood bats will break if hit on the handle. Maple and Bamboo bats will be a little more durable than Ash.
