Description

***If within 30 days of the purchase the consumer is not completely satisfied with the performance of their TRU3 Bat, they are able to return it to the retailer from which the purchase was made or directly to Louisville Slugger for a full refund of the documented retail price paid.*** It's time to step up and attack the diamond, because multi-piece composite bats just changed forever! Louisville Slugger proudly introduces their new Tru3 3-piece construction composite bat suitably named the Attack. This revolutionary new transition technology strengthens the link between the barrel and handle and gives it a dramatically reduced vibration on contact. Rather than thicken the walls of our bats, Louisville Slugger inserted a 1"wide graphite band which gives the bat one of the lowest swing weights in the game. Vibration from mishits are absorbed before they reach the player's hands, allowing players to be more consistent with their hitting. The Attack is constructed from Louisville Slugger's Pure 360 Composite that uses thinner, high-strength and lightweight graphite fibers to add more layers in the handle and transition for added strength, while reducing overall wall thickness. More pop, less weight: that's the formula for better performance AND durability. With a balanced swing weight and an easy to grip 31/32 inch handle, this bat will have hitters ATTACKING the strike zone like never before! Louisville Slugger: Be the Best, or Swing the Rest! The Attack features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp and is approved for play. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Two major changes were made to the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack: SLAT14-R8 Senior League from the previous model. The 2014 model features Slugger's new 360 Composite which is lighter and more durable. The 2014 model also features the new TRU3 Technology that combines the two-piece design. Slugger also offers the 30 Day TRU3 Guarantee on this model because of the new design.

Does it have the BBCOR stamp? brock
No, the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack (SLAT14-R8 Senior League) will not have any certification with BBCOR. This bat will have the USSSA stamp. Only Adult -3 bats will be BBCOR certified.
Brandon
Does this bat need to be broken in? If so, how should I go about doing it? jaxbutler8
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack (SLAT14-R8) Senior League is a two-piece composite design and does require a break-in period. We recommend taking 150-200 swings off a tee while rotating the barrel. For more break-in tips check out http://www.justbats.com/blog/index.php/3789/breaking-in-your-composite-baseball-bat/

Why is there not a 30 inch model? Nite Nite Newton
The 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack (SLAT14-R8) Senior League bat was produced in the 30" option, but we unfortunately no longer have it in stock. We couldn't guarantee that we would receive more of these bats, as Louisville Slugger will be releasing their 2015 line this Summer.

Unfortunately, we don't anticipate adding any sizes of the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack Senior League Baseball Bat (SLAT14-R8) back into inventory as it's a discontinued model. The Prime 915 is now being produced, and we do have that in stock in the 30" length: http://goo.gl/Q5Z5uh.
Mac
Is this bat balanced or endloaded? Buster
The Louisville Slugger Attack Senior League Baseball Bat (SLAT14-R8) will feature a balanced swing weight.
Joe
Can this bat be used in Little League's "Junior League"? Johnnybaseball
Because this Louisville Slugger Attack Senior League Baseball Bat (SLAT14-R8) features a composite barrel and is not BBCOR certified, it is NOT approved for the Junior League division of Little League Baseball. Only composite bats that are BBCOR certified and have -3 length to weight ratios are approved for that division. However, you are allowed to use any bat with a 2 5/8" barrel diameter that is made of alloy, as long as it has the USSSA BPF 1.15 mark. Currently, we have the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 (SLS7158) which is most similar to the Attack in design but approved for your division.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
