Questions and Answers for Louisville Slugger Maple Wood Baseball Bat: HM125B Adult
I have noticed that many of the DARK BATS (Assuming they are Maple and painted) being used in the Major Leagues have either a Circle, Oval or Diamond just above the hands but not always the same distance and well below the 18" mark on the bat. It appears to vary as to the distance but not sure what it is. Years ago, there was a Stripe showing the limit that you could put pine tar but I have asked MANY and people's ideas stretch from Year of the Bat, Softness, Identification just to name a few. The marks vary by maker and some do not have them at all. Any thoughts on what these markings are?
