My 9 year old son currently uses a 30 inch 18 oz aluminum bat comfortably. He is approximately 70 lbs. and 4'8" tall. What size wooden bat would you recommend?

Using the Bat Coach Feature on justbats.com, I was able to determine that your son should be using a 29" Louisville Slugger Maple Wood Bat: MLBHMYG Youth bat.

My son is 9yr old & weighs 105. He currently is swinging a Eastn big Barrel -10 & is L30" / W 20oz...what size wooden bat by Louisville Slugger should he use? Thanks!!

Wood bats are naturally heavier than non-wood bats. Therefore, I would recommend a 29" or 28" wood bat.

Hi, I'm 13 5'8 125 lbs. Do you think I should get a adult bat or one like this?

We recommend an adult bat to start making the transition to a BBCOR bat. The Louisville Slugger Ash Pro Stock Wood Bat: MLBC271B Adult, 32" would be a good choice.

How long do you think this bat will last for a 14 year old?

The Louisville Slugger Maple Wood (MLBHMYG) is a youth model. For that age we would suggest moving them into an a adult model. You could run into some durability issues using this model for a 14 year old.

What is the difference between this bat and the Louisville Slugger MLBM9YBH? Also, my 9 year old son swings a 29" -12 alloy, should I go with a 28" wood bat? He is 4ft 5in, 65 lbs.

The MLBM9YBH uses a higher grade maple than the MLBHMYG. Normally we would recommend a 29" bat based on his height and weight. However, wood bats are going to be much heavier so the 28" would be a better length for him.

Do you think this bat would be good for a 10 year old boy because I want to use something besides an aluminum bat?

I think so. This wood bat is a good bat for a younger player and is a good choice for his first wood bat.

I'm looking for a wood bat for my grandson. He's 7 years old and I was told he would need a 27 length bat. What would you suggest in the $25-$35 price range?

I would suggest going with the mlbhmyg, maple bats are going to be a little more durable than ash wood bats
