I know it is bad for an aluminum bat to hit non-regulation baseballs such as the balls in the pitching machines at the batting cages, would it be ok to use this bat so i don't damage my bat, or would it damage this bat as well?
I personally would recommend using a wood bat while in the batting cages or during hitting sessions. It will extend the life span of your aluminum or composite bat. With this being said though, this is still a wood bat that can crack if you get jammed in on the hands or if you catch one off the end of the barrel.

Is it possible to find one of these closer to -5 or -6 for my 12 year old son? I know they range from -3 to -6, but he has a -6 version and loves it.
