I am 12 years old. I am 5'2" and weigh about 93 lbs. Would a 30" 22 oz. TPX Attack bat be a good choice for me? I bat 3rd in my lineup.

The Louisville Slugger TPX Attack (SL13A Senior League) would be a great bat option for you at your size. The bat design and materials will be very high performing. At your age the -8 length to weight option would be appropriate.

Is the Attack approved for Intermediate league?

The Louisville Slugger TPX Attack (SL13A) Senior League bat is NOT approved for the Intermediate (50/70) division of Little League baseball. To be able to use a composite barrel in that league, the bat must be a BBCOR certified -3 model.

Will the price remain the same over time?

Unfortunately, I do not know how long the price on the Louisville Slugger TPX Attack (SL13A) will remain the same. We do have a 30 Day price match so if you were to purchase the Attack in the next 30 days, you could purchase the bat for the current price if you called in and placed the order with one of our Customer Coaches.

What is the difference between the 2013 version and the 2014 version?

The newer 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack (SLAT14-R8) Senior League has the advanced Pure 360 Composite as well as the new Tru3 technology which strengthens the link between the barrel and handle and gives it dramatically reduced vibration on contact.

When is the 2014 Attack -8 available? Is it designed for a contact or power hitter? How long before it is available through JustBats?

We are scheduled to get the BBCOR 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack in the middle of January. The Senior League models should be due out shortly after that. The Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A Senior League is designed for a contact hitter since it is a two-piece design.

I'm about to go into 12U baseball and I'm looking for a -8 bat for this spring season. I'm not sure what length I should get (31" or 32")? I'm 5'6 and I weigh 115.

Based on your height and weight we recommend a 31" 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A Senior League.

I am about to turn 13, about 5'3" and weigh about 115 lbs. I'm a lead off hitter and I get a lot of base hit singles and doubles and I'm looking to start swinging a -8. I am stuck between the 2013 TPX Attack -8 and the 2013 DeMarini CF5 -8. Which bat would you recommend for me?

Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" model. Both the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A Senior League bat and the DeMarini CF5 are two-piece fully composite designs with very balanced swing weights. They would be good options for a contact hitter.

Can this bat be used right out of the box or does it need a break-in period? What is the proper way to break-in a composite bat?

Yes, the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: SL13A Senior League bat will need a period of break-in. For bats with composite hitting surfaces, we recommend 150-200 hits off a batting tee or soft toss. It’s best to start off at about 40% power, and gradually increase. Also, be sure to rotate the bat a quarter of turn in your hands after every hit.

My son is 11 and plays on a travel team. He only weighs 69 lbs. and he is a great hitter. He loves his TPX. I am looking at the Attack, DeMarini Voodoo, Combat B4, and the Marucci Elite, what would you recommend ??

I would recommend sticking with the brand you have had success with in the past. The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack would be a great choice.

About how many hits you think it will take to break this bat in? Also is this a balanced bat or is it end loaded? Thanks

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack will require 150-200 hits off of soft toss or a tee. Rotate the bat 1/4" every swing for full barrel coverage. Start at 50% power and work your way up from there.

My grandson used a 30" 20oz. TPX Omaha last year at age 12. Would the Attack 31" -8 be a good upgrade for him this year at age 13?

The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack 31" 23oz. would be perfect for him. It is always recommended to start going heavier for high school -3 BBCOR bats and the Attack is an outstanding bat.
