Questions and Answers for Louisville Slugger TPX Attack Youth Baseball Bat: YB13A
Does this bat, or any other high end little league approved composite manufacturer (Combat, Demarini, etc...) have a 28 or 29 inch version? My son is smaller ( 9 years old & 70lbs 52 inches tall) and could use the additional pop of a composite bat but I'm having trouble finding a highly rated model in his lenght/weight range. He has a 28", -10, 18 oz 2 5/8" Demarini Vexxum c6ix composite that he absolutely mashes the ball with but it is of course not little league approved.
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is going to be Little League approved and it is a very high rated bat. It was used by almost all of the kids in the Little League world series last year and it comes available in the size you are looking for.
What do you mean by " rotating the bat a quarter of a inch every swing" in break in period.
Rotate the barrel of the bat in your hand a quarter of an inch so you are fully breaking in the composite fibers throughout the bat and not just one side.
Does the 31 inch red Louisville Slugger TPX Attack youth bat have a longer barrel then the 31 inch blue Louisville Slugger TPX Attack youth bat?
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A Youth will have a similar barrel size to the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A5 Youth.
My son's bat doesn't have any pop. Is there anyway to test the bat to see if it has a defect?
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A Youth is a two-piece composite bat that requires a break-in period before it can reach its full potential. If you've taken it through the break-in, and still don't see the performance you should, the bat may have a defect. Unless the defect is visible (ie cracking issues), there isn't a good way for you to test the bat. If you were to get authorization from Louisville Slugger to send it back under the warranty, they would test the bat and could determine if it was defective.

My son is 4'7" and 71 lbs. He currently uses a Easton Reflex 30" -13. He has plenty of bat speed but there just dosen't seem to be a lot of pop. Would I be better off with theTPX Attack YB13A in a 29" 17 oz? I guess I would perfer the 30" so he could get a couple years out of it. Would this bat provide the pop we're looking for? Thanks
The 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Attack: YB13A is made with Louisville's high-performing LS-2X composite and is known to have above average pop. A 29" model would be recommended based on his height and weight, but if he had good swing speed with his 30" 17 oz. Reflex, then he should be okay with a 30" 18 oz. Attack.
