Questions and Answers for Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL Senior League
Would this bat be appropriate for 10 year old playing kid-pitch in USSSA? I see it says Senior League?
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL Senior League bat is also considered a Youth Big Barrel bat on our website. It would be the appropriate category of bat for a player that faces live pitching or balls pitched by a machine. Always check with a league representative to ensure that a particular bat is approved for use in your specific league.
My son is 50lbs and 6 years old. Ive determined he needs a 26" 16 oz bat. He has a couple years of coach pitch left, but i was wondering if i should go with this bat or the coach pitch bat? Since they are the same size, which one has more pop? Since hes just starting out idk if durablity is an issue.
In a Coach Pitch league, a Junior Big Barrel bat (aka Coach Pitch bat) will have more pop as they are designed with thinner barrel walls and will have more pop in a Coach Pitch league than a Senior League bat.
Which bat do you think is better? The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior or the Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha?
Both are good, balanced bats. The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha will be more balanced and have a higher quality alloy resulting in better performance.

My son just turned 12 and will be in school ball spring,2013. He has been swinging the LS Omaha XT Stiff,2 1/4" barrel model YBXS comp./ST+20alloy. Will the Omaha SL126XL be a good replacement or is there a comp./alloy match with the larger barrel? Thanks.
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL would definitley be a great option. However, the 2013 Louisville Slugger TPX Vertex XL: SL13VXL will be a closer comparison to the Omaha XT Stiff as it will have a similar half and half construction.

Is this bat ok for pony league ? They can use up to a 2 5/8 barrel. Also, my son loves the warrior would this be an upgrade and a comparable swing. My son is 10, 5ft, 95 lbs. he is a great batter so I don't know if a change is necessary. I just want to make sure that he is using the right bat to keep up with the other players as he gets older and stronger. He has used the warrior from 7-10 years old.

Hi, I play 12U travel ball this year and I'm playing 13U next year and my friend bought this bat and I love it. I was wondering if it will be able to be used next year because of rule changes?
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha is legal for play in USSSA in 2013.
Will this be legal for legion baseball in 2013?
This is NOT a BBCOR bat if that is required. However, if they require the BPF 1.15 stamp, this bat will be legal.
I understand that the Omaha's alloy is more responsive than the Warrior's. The Omaha is not available in 30/25. All things being equal, would not a 30/25 Warrior out-hit the 31/21 Omaha?
Ideally a heavier bat will produce more power as long as it does not diminish the hitters bat speed.
My son will be playing on an 8U kid pitch team next year. I'm trying to decide between the big barrel Omaha and the 2 1/4 Omaha. What is the best way to make this choice?
Big barrel bats like the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha tend to have a slightly larger sweet spot. If you league allows big barrel bats, we would recommend using the 2 3/4 inch barrels like the SL126XL would be a great choice.
We have a Z1000 and Omaha, both 32 in -8. My son is very tall with a slow swing, the ball comes off the Omaha way better. Any idea why?
Often, if a composite bat is not broken in, the ball will not come off as well. An alloy bat is hot out of the wrapper and does not require a break-in period.
My 6yr son is starting machine pitch in the fall. What size would you recommend for him? He's pretty big and strong for his age. Hes about 4 foot and 60 pounds. He's been using a small barrel 27/17 during coach pitch and had no problems getting it around. I'm just looking at stepping up to a big barrel bat for him.
Based on his age an size, the average length bat would be 27 or 28 inches. Based on the size bat he has been using, a 17 to 19 ounce bat is recommended. Since he's had no problems with the 27" 17 oz bat, I would recommend a 28" 18 oz bat.
Will this bat in the -10 swing lighter in the 26/16 than the 28/18. My son is 10 and has a slow swing?
The 26" -10 Omaha weighs 16 ounces. The 28" -10 Omaha weighs 18 ounces. The 26" 16 oz model will have a lighter swing weight.
Will this bat be able to be used in 2013?
The Omaha is widely accepted, but it all depends on the league and the division you play in. I suggest checking with your coach for your official league rules.
Between this bat, the cf4, cf5, power brigade, and easton surge, which bat has the most power (I want to hit homers?) ALso, I am 5'8 and 110 lb. What size should I get?
A 31" Easton XL1: SL11X18 Senior League from the Power Brigade series will be the best bat for you for hitting homeruns. It is the only bat of the options you listed that is endloaded. Endloaded bats provide a little more power.
What size bat for a 12 year old that's 5'2" and 120 pounds?
The suggested length for your 12 yr old would a a 31" model of the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL, or if they have good bat speed they could possibly go up to 32".
What size of big barrel bat would be the best for a 10 yr old turning 11 yrs. that weighs 78 lbs and is 4'8"?
For a player that is 4'8" and weighs 78 lbs, I would suggest going with a 29" bat. The weight of the bat really comes down to personal preference and what the batter feels comfortable swinging. To help you find the perfect size bat, check out the Bat Coach feature on our site.
WHAT SIZE BAT FOR A 9 YEAR OLD COACH PITCH. HE IS APPROXIMATELY 4 1/2 FT TALL AND ONLY WEIGHS 63 POUNDS.
The suggested length of the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha: SL126XL for your son would be 29".
My brother is 10 years old weighs 87 lbs and is 4' 4" tall. What size of these big barrels would be the best for him?
The suggested length for your brother would be a 29" 19 oz. bat.
Is this bat a BBCOR bat?
No, the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha is not a BBCOR bat. This is a youth big barrel bat and features the USSSA BPF 1.15 stamp.
My son is 4 ft tall, 50 pounds. He is currently in coach pitch but young. At six he swings a 25" 15 but it seems small to me. What size do you recommend if I'd get this bat for him for fall ball?
Based on your son's height and weight, I would suggest moving up to a 27" Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha. If you need more help in trying to find the right size of bat for your son, feel free to use our bat coach feature located here: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.

Hi how does this bat differ from the SL126?
The 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha SL126 has a 2 5/8" barrel. The SL126XL has a 2 3/4" barrel.
Can this be used for Coach Pitch this season, then Kid Pitch next season?
Absolutely, the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha can be used in both leagues. Kid Pitch bats have thicker walls making the bat more durable than a coach pitch bat.
Is it common for this bat to dent? I see a couple of bad post about denting.
The most common complaint about any aluminum bat is denting. But the 2012 Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha is a durable bat with great pop.
What is the difference between the SL126 and the SL126XL
The Louisville Slugger TPX Omaha SL126 is going to be a 2 5/8" barrel while the SL126XL is going to be a 2 3/4" barrel.
I bought this bat last year from you but it does not have USSSA label what has changed that would not allow bat I bought last July not to be legal this year or can I get it USSSA certifed some how from just bats. I have reciept. Or is there trade in allowance.
We do not have the capabilities do any type of stamping. If you are still covered under warranty then you can try and give Louisville Slugger a call. 1-800-282-2287
I am debating between this bat and the 2012 Easton S3. All things equal, which bat do you think is better quality? Thanks.
Quality, both are great bats. But in order to give you more informed advice, give our reps a call so they can ask you some questions to determine which one is best for your particular batting style.
What is the main differences between this model and the SL126 or the YB126BB? My son will be playing U8 coach pitch travel this spring and needs a big barrel bat. He has been using the easton stealth speed composite(28/17) for rec league and was having some problem getting around on the ball consistently. He used another boys RivalBB(27/17) and was hitting line drives like never before. I believe this has a lot to do with how the weigh is distributed in the bat.
The difference between the SL126 and the SL126XL is the barrel size...the XL is a 2 3/4 ' barrel opposed to the SL126 being a 2 5/8". The YB126BB is a 2 3/4 ' barrel also, but uses a different alloy, I personally don't recommend the YB to kids older than 7-8 yrs old.
Have a U8 boy, good size though. How does this compare to the YB126BB Jr Big Barrel? I see different alloys, will one have more pop for that age?
I like the Omaha, nice balance, big sweet spot and great pop!
How does the pop on this bat compare to the Easton S3 and Worth Lithium Prodigy? Are any more end loaded vs. balanced? Thanks
All three are going to perform similar. They are all one piece alloy bats, and balanced. You can't go wrong with any of the bats.
My son is 13 years old and i am looking for a good bat for him. Is a -5 appropriate for his age group?
I would double check with the league directly, as there are some new weight restrictions on certain older age groups. Some are requiring a -3 bbcor bat.
According to the Babe Ruth website barrel can only be 2 5/8. This bat is 2 3/4 which would not be legal ?
Yes, if the league only allows a 2 5/8" barrel than this bat is not going to be legal
does this bat have the new usssa stamp for 2012?
Yes. It has the new USSSA stamp (see prodcut images).
Would i be able to use this bat in Highschool??
No. All high school bats are adult models and must be BBCOR certified.
is this a good bat for power hitters my son is 13 and looking for a new bat?
Really any bat that is a stiffer bat. Any one piece bat will work well. The omaha is a great option. It is duralble and has good pop.
trying to decide between the TPX Omaha and the Lithium Prodigy for my 10yr old. What is your recommendation?
Both are great bats. The Prodigy may have a little more pop, but the Omaha will probably be a little more durable. Kind of depends on what's more important to you, pop or durability.
Does this bat have composite in it
This bat does not have any composite in the bat. This bat is fully made of alloy. It is a one piece alloy bat.
No. This bat is 100% alloy.

Is this bat bbcor certified?

can i use this bat for my 12u travel ball team?
This is a 100% alloy bat and should be legal for all leagues and tournaments.
Is the 27/17 and 26/16 able to be used for Machine Pitch for USSSA? Not a Coach Pitch Bat?
