With proper bat care, including not using the bat in temperatures below 60 degrees, limiting the bat to single player use, and not using it against yellow dimpled cage balls should extend the life of the bat. It is also covered under a 12 month manufacturer warranty.

I am trying to choose between the SL136XL and the SL136 (2 3/4 vs 2 5/8 in barrel). Are there leagues that don't allow the 2 3/4? Does the extra barrel size reduce the durability? Why would I choose the 2 5/8 vs the 2 3/4?
Many leagues do not allow 2 3/4 " barrels. USSSA and most travel and local leagues allow 2 3/4" barrels. The 2 3/4 will provide a larger hitting surface. The bigger barrel size does not change the durability.If your league allows 2 3/4" barrels, we recommend you use it.
My son is 9 yrs old and plays for a Pony league. I was looking at the rule book and it says, "The bat must be a smooth implement from the top of the cap to the top of the knob." My question is, does the cap on this bat qualify as smooth? Also, the rules say non-wood bats must be stamped "Approved for play in Pony baseball." I don't see this stamp. Is the bat still Pony legal?

Not necessarily because, manufacturers are able to adjust the weight distribution in bats to give a 2 3/4" model the same balance and swing weight as a 2 5/8" model.
