Hi. I'm 13 years old. Is this bat not heavy for me? Karl
If you are required to use a BBCOR the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR: BB12W Adult is an excellent choice. It is very balanced, perfect for a younger player.

My son 14 years of age is 5'8.5", and 149 lbs. Lifts weights 3 times a week. What would be the recommended bat size for him? I was thinking 33", but do not want to add too much weight even though I think his physical strength will equal out the added inch. Mo

Im 135 pounds as a junior in high school. I'm not sure what weight and length for the bat TheKidd
The length you should use is difficult to estimate based on your weight alone. Height plays a factor in how long or short of a bat you should be using. Generally, based on your age, a 32 inch bat is a common choice.
Patrick
Which is better, the Rawlings Plasma BBCOR: BBCPL3 Adult or the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR: BB12W Adult? JJJJJJJJJJ
Both will feature the same one-piece fully alloy design. Also, they will both have a very balanced swing weight. The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR (BB12W Adult) won't feel quite as stiff as the Rawlings Plasma BBCOR.
Brandon
Can I use this bat with the yellow dimpled balls? jack
We would not recommend using the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR (BB12W), or any other composite or aluminum bat, with the yellow dimple balls.
Justin R.
Can I use this bat with the yellow dimpled balls? jack
We do not recommend using a bat with the yellow dimpled baseball you typically find in batting cages, as these balls are more dense than a standard baseball and can cause durability issues. We recommend having a second bat specifically for practice that is comparable to the one you plan to use in a game for the times when you would like to hit the yellow dimpled balls.
Kyle J.

Yes, the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR: (BB12W) will have a -3 length to weight ratio.

The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) is a balanced bat. The DeMarini Vexxum is the most balanced bat of the three.

What are some differences between the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR and this TPX Warrior BBCOR? Which would you recommend? miggy
Both of these bats are great options. The biggest difference is the different alloy materials they are made of. The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) is made of 7050 alloy, while the 2014 Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) is made of ST+20 alloy.
Allison
If I normally use a 31'' 23 oz. drop -8 bat how hard would it be to adjust to this bat? Would the 5 oz. make a difference in your swing? KK
Moving up to the drop -3 like the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) from a drop -8 might be a bit of a jump. We typically suggest not moving up more than 2 or 3 oz. when transitioning drop weights.
Jake
Does this bat have a large sweet spot and no ping sound? Don
The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) does have a fairly large sweet spot, however due to the alloy construction, it will also have a sharper sound on contact.
Joe
Is this a good bat for 8th grade baseball? jerek
If your 8th grade league requires the usage of BBCOR bats, the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) would be an ideal first BBCOR model. It features a one piece full alloy design with a balanced swing weight. You could also consider the Louisville Slugger Assault BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAS14-RR) as well.
Joe
Does this bat feel light and have a good swing speed, or is it on the heavier side? I am looking for more control. Ryan
The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) will be fairly evenly balanced. While it may not be the lightest swing weight available on the market, it would still not be considered heavy or end-loaded by most players.
Patrick
Is this bat considered -3 BBcor .50? Jen
Yes, the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB12W will feature a BBCOR .50 drop 3 certification.
Nick
How does this bat compare to the Rawlings VELO bat? East Texas
Both the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB12W and the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 will be one-piece bats with balanced swing weights; although some may feel the Warrior has more of an end-load. As for the alloy used, there does not seem to be any clear indications that one has better durability.
Cameron
How does it compare to the MAKO. What BBCOR bat would you suggest for a 13 year old boy that is still under 5 ft tall? Ben
This Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB12W) will be a single-piece, all-alloy bat. That will make this bat very different from the MAKO which has a two-piece, all-composite design. For a 13 year old boy that is small for his age, I would recommend looking at a BBCOR .50 bat with a 30" or 31" length. Sadly, we only have this Warrior available in the 33" length. To get a similar Slugger model that is available in those sizes, I would recommend the 2016 Louisville Slugger Omaha 516 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5163).
Ben
Is this bat is a drop 3? tynor
Since this is a BBCOR certified bat, the Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB12W is a drop 3 bat.
Marcus
Is this bat end-loaded or balanced? swhroads
The Louisville Slugger TPX Warrior BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB12W is a balanced bat.
Marcus
Can my son use this bat for select ball? It shows discontinued but don’t know if that means that they don’t make them anymore. But can he still use it? Daniel Marron
Unfortunately, this bat is discontinued and we no longer have this model in stock. This bat is BBCOR certified, and could be used in high school and college play.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
