The new M^Powered bamboo/maple hybrid bats are made from a combination of the hardest wood/plant material on earth - bamboo; and the ever popular and well performing maple wood. The M^Powered Stinger bamboo/maple hybrid bat gives the flexibility and tensile strength of Bamboo with the added 'pop' of a Maple barrel. The inner core of the Stinger bat is constructed in a 4-way grid and is first placed under 200 pounds of pressure to fuse the material. The outer barrel core is rock maple from Russia. The outer maple core comprises 4 maple slots of material measuring approximately 15 inches in length - the area of the core and optimal hitting space on the bat barrel. The maple material is also fused under pressure to the inner core of Bamboo and then lathed for optimal construction. Tensile strength of Bamboo combined with the power and strength of Maple. This construction is great for the transitional wood bat player or the seasoned player. M^Powered pays very special attention to detail. Pros: just got the bat and used it in practice. My entire team was surprised how much pop this bat had. I hit with this bat and a couple of our BBCOR aluminum bats and this had more pop. It almost hit as far as some of our BESR bats we sometimes use in practice just to make our selfs feel good. Almost. Other than that it is an all around fantastic bat. BTW, I am not with the company, I'm a legit player

Pros: my first hit with this bat was an unbelievable line drive to center field. nobody could believe it mad it to him so fast. great pop and doesn't sting. love the four-section maple barrel so i can hit the ball anywhere on the barrel with good pop. bamboo core is super strong.

Cons: was worried that after my first hit if it will be legal for next year. if it is, then i am going to be buying a few more of these.

Pros: This bat is very durable, I bought it for my 14 year old for cages, but he started using it in travel ball here in so. cal. and he said he was hitting the ball hard and far, very close to his besr omaha! Great technology!

Pros: I bought my first Stinger in a parking lot outside of Vegas for $50 during last years Kickoff Classic. I was skeptical to say the least, but I had just broken my last wood and needed another ASAP. This bat has outperformed and outlived all other composite bats that I've swung. Everybody that hits with it loves the pop and feel. Just bought another one. Mpowered, if you every need marketing in the Colorado area. It's wide open out here!

Pros: Had good balance and felt light in my hands with a large barrel

Cons: Bought this bat to use in a mens league and it broke on my first swing at a live pitch with it. My teammate also considered buying one and against my advice he did. His also broke in his first at bat using the stinger. E-mailed the company owner and his solution was to offer me 2 more ash bats for a little over $100. Did not take him up on the offer. Also he tried to inform me that bamboo is not a stronger or more reliable product, which I am led to believe otherwise.

The MPSTING is not a BBCOR certified wood bat.

Does a wood bat need to be BBCOR certified? I know this one is not. Or does that only appply to non wood bats. Jay

If a bat is made from a solid piece of wood and it 100% wood, then it does not have to have the BBCOR certification. Only bats that are composite wood bats, made from bamboo wood, or non-wood bats are required to have that BBCOR certification in order to be legal for play in high school and collegiate levels.
