Description

The Marucci Bat Company™ takes pride in turning top quality wooden baseball bats in the same tradition and precise technique of the earliest bat companies. Every Marucci Bat™ is cut, calibrated, balanced, buffed and lacquered by hand. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses top grade Maple billets cut from selected, naturally grown trees in Pennsylvania forests. This selection process insures the highest possible grade of wood for each bat. The Marucci Bat Company™ bats are 100 percent handmade or turned in small batches from an original design, then finished and detailed by hand. Each model is made to exacting specifications maximizing balance and ease of handling. The Marucci Bat Company™ uses an Ultra Penetrating Stain that provides the best possible finish for your next Marucci Bat. Most impressive is the Bone Rubbing technique that The Marucci Bat Company™ uses. `Boning` bats began in the earliest days of baseball with players like Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. These Hall-of-Famers would spend hours in their dugouts rubbing their bats with old cow femur bones. Bone Rubbing closes the wood`s pores, compressing it and making it harder. Marucci uses the same technique on their bats, rubbing before the finish is applied to seal and harden the wood. Just another example of how Marucci takes the same pride in their bats as our baseball heroes once did. Experience the excellence of a Marucci Bat today with the AP5BN Adult. Free Shipping! Pros: Have 4 bats. 2 for BP and 2 for Games. The price constitutes "Game Bat". To use in BP is dumb. Hits hard and has Solid pop, Looks great.

Cons: Priced a little high. Why is it $10 more than the same bat in black? Does it require additional boning or sumzing ;P

Pros: Why does everyone complain about the bats breaking? The only issue I see when reading this is you are all breaking them when you hit one off the hands. Stop swinging at the bad pitches.

Pros: Great balance and lots of pop. Do not swing at inside pitches and the bat should last.

Cons: As far as I know, no Marucci maple sold "retail" qualifies as MLB approved. MLB requires an ink dot test for grain straightness and the label must be 90 degrees to the face wood grain of the bat. Retail Marucci maples have the label ON the face wood grain.

Marucci is awesome! larry horwitz player

Pros: excellent whip, sturdy wood. im a smaller guy (5'7", 190 lbs) not a huge power hitter. I swear this bat has more pop than most bbcors ive used. i just today hit one over the foul pole, which is 326' at our home field. And ive been jammed, totally thought it was gonna break, did no such thing. you guys need to look at which way the grain is going before you swing wood, and always try to square it up. Great bat! Great company!!

Cons: one day it will wear out, de laminate, or break.

Pros: This is my second AP5, I had the youth model when I was younger. Both have played very well. I have put over 1000's of swings in games/practice/cages. You get what you pay for. Mike player

Pros: I think most people tend to blame their bat for their own shortcomings. Had a few ball get in on me and it didn't break. Great balance, great pop, great sound, almost an ash sound. If you can get one with back spin off the inside part of the sweet spot it is going to go a LONG way.

Cons: Slick finish. Playing in Texas (HOT and dry) it can be a challenge to find the right grip. Tried various things, what i've found words best is no tape and use the batting gloves with the glossy finish on the inside. If you go cheap on batting gloves, pine tar is a must and you will just end up replacing the batting gloves quicker. Price, the only thing keeping me from buying another right now is the price. But, you can bet when it breaks I'll likely replace it with another AP5.

The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Bat (AP5BN) is made from maple, which is one of the strongest and stiffest wood types available. Durability on any wood bat can vary drastically. If you hit one ball off the handle or the end of the bat any wood bat can break. Or if you consistently make solid contact then a wood bat could last numerous years.
Tessa
I'm 13 years old and 4'11". Which bat better suits a contact hitter like me? The (AP5BN) or the (JB19). .

Merritt
I love my new AP5, but I was wondering if I could use it on dimpled balls in the batting cage? AP5 Lover
We do not recommend hitting dimpled balls with the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) or any game bat. The dimpled balls, or rubber cage balls, are more dense than regular baseballs and can crack, dent or even break your game bat easier.
John H

The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult is not backed by warranty.
Mac
Does this bat pass the BBCOR standards for high school play? charles

Is this model similar to a 110 turning model, or more end heavy? Vinny
The handle of the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult is thinner than the typical 110 turning model. Because of this, it will have a slightly more end loaded feel than a 110. But it is overall a pretty well-balanced design.

I am an experienced Marucci user and use wood basically every practice and a few tournaments. Never tried the AP5 before surprisingly but have heard great things about it. How does this compare to the JB19, CU26, and CUTCH22? Those are the models I use now or have used in the past. jboyz baseball
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) Adult and the Marucci Andrew McCutchen Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CUTCH22C) Cherry Adult will be most similar with a longer barrel taper. Both will have a tapered handle, but the taper on the Cutch22 will be slightly larger. The Marucci Jose Bautista Maple Wood Baseball Bat (JB19) Adult, Marucci Chase Utley Maple Wood Baseball Bat (CU26B) Adult will have a shorter taper on the barrel and a standard knob.

Where is the weight distributed in this bat? jonnybball
The Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) will feature a slight end-load through the barrel. It is not technically an end-loaded model, however the steep barrel taper does make it feel as though it has a slight end-load.
Joe
What Marucci bat would you prefer for a gap to gap lead-off hitter? Aj
As a lead-off contact hitter, we would typically recommend a balanced turn model such as the 110 turn model. Additionally, we would recommend ash over maple due to the light swing-weight and faster bat speed of ash models. The Marucci David Ortiz Ash Wood Baseball Bat (DO34 Adult) would be a great option.
Joe
Why are the Marucci's that the Pros. use ink dot tested? But the retail ones are not? Does that mean that they're not as high quality? larondoi
The ink dot is something that the MLB may require. The bats like the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) are the exact same wood from his hands to the ones we sell here.

Can you explain the price difference between a ($69.00) 31 inch Alpert Pujols Maple and a ($129.00) 32 inch Pujols Maple. Seems like a lot of money for 1 inch. I have purchased 4 of your Ash bats for my kid, they break way to easy, recent break on the barrel. Harry Up
The price difference between the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN) and the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Youth Baseball Bat (AP5YB) is because the 31 inch AP5YB is a youth model which is a different design than the adult but made to give a similar feel for a youth player to what the adult player would experience. Maple is, traditionally, a bit more durable than ash.

Is there a warranty for the first few months if the bat breaks? Mike
Unfortunately, the Marucci Albert Pujols Maple Wood Baseball Bat (AP5BN Adult) will not carry any warranty period that would allow customers to obtain a warranty replacement through Marucci or JustBats if it were to break. Typically, natural wooden baseball bats do not carry warranty periods, but there are some composite wood models that will feature a warranty period.
