Questions and Answers for Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult

Is this bat approved for high school play?

Adult wood bats, like the Marucci Pro Cut Maple Wood Bat: MCMBBCULL Black Adult, are considered BBCOR standard by default. Because these bats have minor cosmetic blemishes, some of their markings may not be correct or legible and an umpire may not allow them to be used in game. These would be better used as practice bats.

is there a specific side of the bat you need to use when you hit the ball? like logo side toward pitcher or.....

One thing to keep in mind with wood bats, is that they are much less forgiving than alloy or composite bats and there are many reasons why wood bats break. If contact is made too close to the end of the barrel or close to the handle, the chances of the bat breaking increase. If contact is made on the wrong side of the barrel, the chances of the bat breaking increase. When hitting with wood bats the first thing the player must do is make the label (emblem on the barrel) of the bat face straight up or straight down. The areas to either side of the label on the bat is not only the hardest but also the strongest.

How long do they usually last?

Wood bats are very unpredictable, especially for players who don't have much experience hitting with wood bats. I've seen Marucci's MCMBBCULL bats last 6 months, others, I've seen last 6 hits. One thing to keep in mind with wood bats, is that they are much less forgiving than alloy or composite bats and there are many reasons why wood bats break. If contact is made too close to the end of the barrel or close to the handle, the chances of the bat breaking increase. So is there a difference between the MCMBBCULL and the MCMBLEM? because there is pretty much a $50 difference if i just by 3 MCMBLEM

The MCMBBCULL is made from Pro Cut Maple. The MCMBLEM is made from a Maple that is not as high in quality. The MCMBBCULL will be a little more durable because of this.

the blem bats, it says there is nothing wrong with that performance of the bats, but they say only recommended in the batting cages, could they be used in games, and if so why do they say only for practice and batting cages? thank you

These are recommended to not be used in a game. They are perfect to be used in practice or in the batting cage. These are blemished bats that only have something wrong cosmetically with them. Most leagues will not allow these bats to be used because they say “Blem” on them.

Todd Expert ·Nov 20, 2011

why is cheaper than the regular marucci bats, do they break quicker?

Blems are bats that did not make it to the final stage of production due to minor belmishes. They're made from the same wood as Marucci's main line of bats and they don't break more frequently. Because they're marked as Blems, we get them at a good price from Marucci which allows us to sell them at a good price to our customers.

with this bat can you specify a certain model or turn of a marucci bat(s) if it is in stock as a bbcull upon ordering? If so can you request the models in the notes or will batwarehouse simply pick any model out of the bin and send it?

No, unfortunately, you can't request a specific model on the blem bats. They are ramdomly picked out of a ben. They don't actually have finished model no's.
