I prefer the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult, it is a great bat. But anytime you can get two quality bats for a equal price you can't go wrong with that either.

The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult is a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight and generally more preferred by a contact hitter. The Easton XL3 has an extended barrel and slight end loaded feel and therefore preferred by a power hitter.
I am 12 years old and I am a contact hitter. I need a 31 inch BBCOR bat. Should I get the 2013 Marucci Team or the 2013 Rip-It Prototype?

I am currently swinging an easton s3, how would this bat feel in comparison and would it be an easy transition?
The Marucci Team MCBT is a one-piece balanced bat just like the Easton BB11S3 so the weight distributions will be comparable. The transition from one of these bats to the other should be an easy one.

The Marucci Team would definitely be a great bat to upgrade to. The Team is a full alloy bat like the Hammer and you shouldn't have any problems switching to this bat!
Would it be too heavy, in your opinion, for a 13 year old who is 5'3" and 100 pounds?
Based on that height and weight, a 29" bat is recommended. Since the smallest size we currently have available is a 31" 28oz, these sizes will probably be too large for you. However, if you feel like you can swing a 31" bat, then I say go for it! It shouldn't hurt anything.

Marucci’s headquarters is located in Baton Rouge, LA. However, the Marucci Team model is manufactured overseas.

Since the Marucci Team BBCOR bat is an all alloy bat, there will not be a break-in period required. Only composite barrel bats will require a break-in.

I do not think the Marucci Team BBCOR bat will get banned like the 33" Marucci CAT 5. The 33" 30 oz. CAT 5 was the only size that was decertified. Marucci has since done a great job of testing their bats to make sure they are legal for play at the different levels. If the Marucci Team does lose its BBCOR certification, the NCAA and NFHS will be the governing bodies that make this ruling.
How does this bat differ from the CAT 5 Squared BBCOR? Is it better?
The Marucci Team is very comparable to the Marucci CAT 5 and designed with the same high end alloy as the Cat 5. Both have excellent pop and performance.

All are great bats with very good pop. The CAT 5 and Team models are one-piece bats that often benefit power hitters. The CAT 5 was one of the highest performing BBCOR bats on the market, but it has been discontinued and we no longer have any in stock. I think the Team bat is comparable to the CAT 5, but it will be hard to match the CAT 5's performance. If you prefer a one-piece bat, go with the Team, if you have traditionally used two-piece bats with success, go with the Marucci Black.
For the money is the Marucci Team series just as good as the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo?
That depends on who you ask. The Marucci Team bats are stiff, one-piece bats. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat with more flex. Both are high performing bats, just depends on whether you prefer a two-piece or one-piece bat.
What is the difference between the colors of the 3 bats?
The Marucci Team bats are the same design and construction, except one is blue, one is red and one is black.
