I am a high school player that is looking into getting a new bat. I am 6'4" and 185 lbs. What size bat should I get and is the Marucci team bat a good choice?

The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult bat is a great choice for a one-piece fully alloy model. At your size you should be swinging a 33"-34" BBCOR bat size.

Brandon Expert ·May 04, 2013

My son would like us to purchase this bat for him. He is 13 years old, 5'8" about 156 pounds. What size would you recommend for him?

Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32" 29 oz. Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult.

I am 15 years old and about 110 pounds and I was wondering if this bat would be better then the bat pack with the Louisville Slugger TPX EXO Grid and the DeMarini Vexxum? Which one would you prefer?

I prefer the Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult, it is a great bat. But anytime you can get two quality bats for a equal price you can't go wrong with that either.

Chad M. Expert ·Mar 04, 2013

Which bat would you recommend for more of a contact hitter, this bat or the Easton XL3? Thanks.

The Marucci Team BBCOR: MCBT Red Adult is a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight and generally more preferred by a contact hitter. The Easton XL3 has an extended barrel and slight end loaded feel and therefore preferred by a power hitter.

I am 12 years old and I am a contact hitter. I need a 31 inch BBCOR bat. Should I get the 2013 Marucci Team or the 2013 Rip-It Prototype?

The Marucci Team and the RIP-IT Prototype will both use some of the highest performing alloy on the market. They will have similar weight distribution as well. Here is a link to further compare the two bats. http://www.justbats.com/compare/

I am currently swinging an easton s3, how would this bat feel in comparison and would it be an easy transition?

The Marucci Team MCBT is a one-piece balanced bat just like the Easton BB11S3 so the weight distributions will be comparable. The transition from one of these bats to the other should be an easy one.

I'm an 8th grader and about 5'4" and 125 lbs. and wanting to upgrade from a 31 in. 28 oz. Easton Hammer. Would this be a good upgrade?

The Marucci Team would definitely be a great bat to upgrade to. The Team is a full alloy bat like the Hammer and you shouldn't have any problems switching to this bat!

Jennifer Expert ·May 29, 2012

28454

Would it be too heavy, in your opinion, for a 13 year old who is 5'3" and 100 pounds?

Based on that height and weight, a 29" bat is recommended. Since the smallest size we currently have available is a 31" 28oz, these sizes will probably be too large for you. However, if you feel like you can swing a 31" bat, then I say go for it! It shouldn't hurt anything.

Do you think this bat will get banned like the CAT 5?

I do not think the Marucci Team BBCOR bat will get banned like the 33" Marucci CAT 5. The 33" 30 oz. CAT 5 was the only size that was decertified. Marucci has since done a great job of testing their bats to make sure they are legal for play at the different levels. If the Marucci Team does lose its BBCOR certification, the NCAA and NFHS will be the governing bodies that make this ruling.

Austin Expert ·May 29, 2012

The Marucci Team is very comparable to the Marucci CAT 5 and designed with the same high end alloy as the Cat 5. Both have excellent pop and performance.

What is better, the Marucci Team or the Marucci Black?

Both, the Marucci Black and the Marucci Team are great bats. Determining which one is better is difficult and is really dependent on the type of hitter you are. If you are more of a power hitter, the Team would probably be the best option for you because it is a one-piece ally. However, if you are more of a contact hitter, then the two-piece hybrid design of the Black would probably better suit your needs.

I am a sophomore in high school who hits for power. What should I get, the Marucci Team or the Marucci Black?

If you are a power hitter then the Marucci Team would be a great choice for you! The Marucci Black is a great bat, but the two-piece design of this bat is usually better suited for contact hitters.

Jennifer Expert ·May 29, 2012

28434

Why is the Marucci Team $100 less than the Marucci Black?

The Marucci Team and Marucci Black are two completely different bat designs, hence the price difference. The Team is a one-piece alloy and the Black is a two-piece hybrid with an alloy barrel and composite handle.

Kara Expert ·May 14, 2012

26422

Would you recommend the Cat 5, Marucci Black, or Marucci Team based on pop? I am a power hitter.

All are great bats with very good pop. The CAT 5 and Team models are one-piece bats that often benefit power hitters. The CAT 5 was one of the highest performing BBCOR bats on the market, but it has been discontinued and we no longer have any in stock. I think the Team bat is comparable to the CAT 5, but it will be hard to match the CAT 5's performance. If you prefer a one-piece bat, go with the Team, if you have traditionally used two-piece bats with success, go with the Marucci Black.

Tyler Expert ·May 10, 2012

For the money is the Marucci Team series just as good as the 2012 DeMarini Voodoo?

That depends on who you ask. The Marucci Team bats are stiff, one-piece bats. The DeMarini Voodoo is a two-piece bat with more flex. Both are high performing bats, just depends on whether you prefer a two-piece or one-piece bat.
