Questions and Answers for Mattingly Saber: SBRFP Fastpitch
I don't know what bat is better for my daughter. She is a well rounded hitter; can put it anywhere. She's 9 and about 4' 6" and approx. 65 pounds. We have been using a Mystic that is now dead. My question is about length and I had 2 bats in mind: the Mattingly Sabre and the Easton Alpha. What do you think?
Based on results from Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 30" bat for your daughter. If she has been using the Louisville Slugger Mystic, the Easton Alpha would be most similar to that with its -13 length to weight ratio. However, we do recommend increasing the weight of the bat 1-2 ounces every season, so the Mattingly Saber: SBRFP Fastpitch bat would be a good option, also. The Saber has an extended sweetspot while the Alpha has a low M.O.I. for high swing speeds. Both models would be great options for your player, but offer slightly different benefits.
hi would this be a good bat for a lefty slapper to use? Or would the Worth AMP (yellow & black) be a better choice?
both are great options, the Saber may be a little better for a slap hitter, it has a little bit more of a balanced feel
