Questions and Answers for Nike Aero Athena: BT0644 Fastpitch
Is this bat in regulation with high school play?
Yes the Nike Aero Athena will be approved for high school play.
How do you get a new USSSA stamp put on the bat. My daughter plays ASA and USSSA. We were going to buy a larger size to have for next year. Should we even spend the money if the bat will be deemed illegal? She would be using it more for fall 2013 and there after. Thanks.
You would have to contact Nike about the Nike Aero Athena: BT0644 Fastpitch bat to check about getting a new stamp or markings. Here is their contact information: 1-800-352-6453. They should have a better answer for you. This bat will actually be legal until September 1, 2014. The old USSSA stamp is now legal until September 1, 2014, due to some manufacturing delays in Fastpitch softball bats.
After 1 September 2013 how does this bat get the required stamp for USSSA? Will it be deemed illegal without the stamp? Will the price come down without the stamp?
The Nike Aero Athena does not have the USSSA stamp so it would be illegal after September 1st 2013. Newer models would get the stamp in the manufacturing process. You may see a price decrease when a newer model comes out with the stamp.
In your description you say it's approved by USSSA, but below, you say it's not. Is it approved for 2013?
According to the USSSA website because the 2012 Nike Aero Athena: BT0644 Fastpitch bat does not have the new USSSA stamp it will be legal for play in 2012, but effective September 1, 2013 fastpitch bats will be required to have the new USSSA stamp.
