The Rawlings 5150 VELO: SL51V is a lighter weight design that will offer better balance than the 2013 Rawlings 5150 Alloy: SLR234.

The 2012 Rawlings 5150 VELO: SL51V is a lightweight design that is designed to increase swing velocity.
Is the 30/20 stamped with BFI 1.15? And is there a difference between the youth and senior bats?
Yes. This bat does have the USSSA stamp. Youth bats have a 2 1/4" barrel and the senior league bats have 2 5/8" or 2 3/4" barrels. This bat has a 2 3/4" barrel.
How will this bat compare to the Rival in performance (pop and swing ratio)? And will this bat dent easily?
This is going to be very similar in performance and construction. The Velo is designed to have a lower swing weight. We have not heard any feedback about these bats denting easier than any other models.

No, this is not BBCOR certified. BBCOR bats will only be available in a -3 length to weight ratio.

The VELO is just a newer model of the 5150.
why is there no 30" or 31" available?
We are currently out of stock in those sizes. We do have more on order, we are just waiting on the shipping info, so we know when to expect them.
what is the difference between this bbcor and the one with grey writing?
The 5150 VELO features an incredibly lightweight design and thinner walls to help players increase their swing speed and hit the ball further. This bat is made of the same material the 5150 has and this bat will be just as durable.
Is this bat usssa legal by the 2012 regulations. What are the new regulations? Where can i find a list of them
This bat is USSSA approved for 2012. Efffective January 1, 2012 big barrel bats (2 5/8 and 2 3/4 inch) 14U and below must have the new USSSA stamp on the taper or be a BBCOR bat. Big Barrel bats must be BBCOR certified in 15U and above. For 2012 and 2013 Small Barrel bats must have the new USSSA mark on the taper or have the old USSSA mark. All divisions allow wood bats. The filter on the left hand side of our website labeled "Shop for Approved by" will list all bats approved for USSSA.
How is this 5150 different from the other 2012 5150 -10 2 3/4 barrel bat that is silver and red?
The VELO is just the newer model. They both are going to perform similar to each other.
Is tis a big barrel and is 2 3/4 considered the biggest big barrel you have?
Yes, 2 3/4" is the biggest barrel made.
Did they improve the paint?I know in the past the bat had issues with the paint chipping.
Manufactures always try to improve the bats every year. To my knowledge there hasn't been any issues with the Velo.
How is this bat compared to the easton S-3?
Both bats will perform similar to each other. They both use their top of the line alloy. You can't go wrong with either bat.
