The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1408 Senior League uses a new R2 alloy, which is much more durable than the R1 alloy in the past. The B4 and the RIP-It will both be very similar in performance.

I would not recommend the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1408 Senior League bat. The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1408 Senior League is designed for younger athletes (ages 9-15) playing in youth leagues. I would recommend looking under the "Slow Pitch Bats" section on our website to locate the appropriate bat for the player.

The 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1408) is a balanced one-piece bat. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece composite bat that is end loaded. Both are very high performing bats.

My son will be moving up to the 13 and under division, and will be needing a big barrel bat. Would you recommend this bat or the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord? He is a power hitter, weighs 120 lbs and is 5'2" tall. Do you think he should use a -9/-8 bat first? Or would he be able to jump to -5 drop right away? He is currently using the Easton XL1 31/21. mj
As a power hitter, I would probably suggest taking a closer look at the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: (B1408). The one-piece alloy will provide a stiffer feel, and will provide plenty of power with the R2 Alloy. This model has been extremely popular, and its performance has been highly reviewed as well. I would also recommend using a -8 as a transition weight before moving down to a -5 right away. Ultimately, this will help him swing through a little bit easier, and the weight difference will not be as noticeable.

My 10 year old son has been using the Marucci Black 30" 22 oz. with great success. Time for a new bat. Hard to ignore this one. I'm debating whether to go with either the 1410 or the 1408 in the 31". Does this bat feel lighter that the Marucci Black or will it be comparable? Obviously I'll be adding an ounce if I go with the 31 inch length in the 1408. chad
The extended barrel design of the 2014 Marucci Black (MSBB148) gives it a more end loaded feel compared to the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1408). We recommend the 31' 23 oz. RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1408).

Unfortunately, for Ripken ball, it appears you need a 2 1/4" bat. RIP-IT does not carry a 2 1/4" model at this time. You will want to be looking in our "Youth" bats on our site. For a nice balanced bat, similar to the RIP-IT, I would recommend the DeMarini Vexxum or the Marucci Black.
