Hi my son is 14 and I'm wondering what the difference is between the 2013 BOMbat B4 portent: B4SL1 -8 senior league bat and the Nike Aero CX2: BT0635 Senior League bat. PD
The Nike Aero CX2 is a two-piece composite so it will have more flex to benefit a contact gap hitter. The COMBAT B4 Portent is a one-piece composite and will be heavier because of the -8 drop which would benefit a power hitter.

These bats will be extremely similar because they are both one-piece fully composite bats the have the same sweet spot. The composite material used in the bats will provide the same amount of pop of the barrel. The graphics are exclusive to the particular website you see the Bubba on.

No. The 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent: B4SL1 -8 Senior League bat is full composite and is not legal in the 13/15 year old division of Babe Ruth.

My now 12-year old son used the 31" B2 2 1/4 19oz. in little league this year and really liked it. He used the 30" 22oz. B4 in travel team scrimmages and liked it too. He now wants a 31" 2 5/8" BPF 1.15. Should be get the -10 or the -8? He is 5" and 95 lbs. Good power. Thoughts? John
Given his size and age, I would recommend a 31" -8 bat. A 31" -5 bat may be a little too big of a jump from the 19 and 22 ounce bats he's currently using.

Follow-up question for Tyler: I just ordered the 31" 23oz. B4 Portent for my 12-year old. My reading of the current Triple Crown rules indicates that the "BPF 1.15" stamp makes this bat legal in their tourneys. Do you agree? Thanks! John
If your league requires a BPF 1.15 stamp, then yes, the COMBAT Portent B4SL1 will be legal as it has the new BPF stamp.

The 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent: B4SL1 -8 is produced in a 29" 21 oz model. However, we have not received it yet. It should be available in that size within the next 2-3 weeks.

No, the 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent: B4SL1 -8 Senior League bat will not be legal for Little League Juniors. Composite barreled bats have to be BBCOR certified for Juniors Division.

The 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent: B4SL1 -8 Senior League and the Marucci Black 2 are both going to very high performing bats. The COMBAT will be a one-piece design, which will have a stiff feel and the Marucci will offer more flex with its two-piece design. The choice is going to come down to personal preference.

The 2013 COMBAT B4 Portent: B4SL1 -8 Senior League is a one-piece composite bat and the 2014 Easton XL1: SL14X18 Senior League is a two-piece fully composite bat. The XL1 will be end loaded and the B4 Portent will be balanced. The B4 Portent and the COMBAT 52 Caliber will be similar bats except for the Nanocomp Technology Inside the COMBAT 52 Caliber.
