combat portant 2014 killer bee parent
Pros: very balanced, swings very light, ball comes off bat very hot, my 11 yr old son playing up in 12u tournament, when he wasent hitting balls off fence was eating infielders alive, son loves this bat!
Cons: none so far
This bat is legit Coach coach
Pros: I gotta say this bat has some serious pop! My son plays 11U travel ball and has used several bats over the years, nothing has come close to this bat. Now I understand why there is a warning label on this bat.
Cons: None so far.
Quite possibly the best bat ever made! Bat Fanatic coach
Pros: Hot out of the wrapper is an understatement. My 10 year old son plays on the 11 year old AAA travel team and has always been the top 2 or 3 hitters. This bat has lifted him to the top! He"s now hitting it over the fence and everyone on the team wants to use it. The balance is superb and absolutely no vibration or sting. An impressive bat to say the least!
Cons: Everyone on your team will want to use it!!!
Attention getter in spite of it's plain graphics. TxTornado parent
Pros: This bat is the truth. Major pop and low MOI. If you need batspeed with pop, this is it. My 10 year old plays travel ball, we are practicing at an indoor facility right now, and when he's hitting live pitching, people come and watch. We don't throw meatballs to him either. Several coaches and older players have commented on how hard he's hitting the ball. We switched from a Mako to this bat, and the difference has been visible. We've always used Easton, I used Easton when I played, but I have to give it to Combat this time.
Cons: We'll see how it holds up, but so far so good. I may have to buy another one since the other kids are asking to use it now.
Great composite coach coach
Pros: Great pop and exit speed, this bat takes very little to break in. Performs as well if not better than the 2014 Easton $350 composites, and along with the Combat Wanted 2-piece, these are the bats we're seeing more and more at the early season AAA and Majors tournaments.
Cons: None so far.
Excellent Bat JM player
Pros: Great bat. Awesome Pop and very little stingers when hit inside near the handle.Best bat I've ever had, Hands Down!
Cons: None
My son loves this bat!! Chadd Ware parent
Pros: My 12 year old started off this season 2/8 after hitting .800 last year in 12u rec, as an 11 yr old. New bat arrived before our first tnmt. Day 1, he only goes 2/5, but every ball was hit well. Day 2, 4/5, with a 240 foot HR. Our team is sponsored by DeMarini....but we will never go away from Combat. Instant pop, right out of the wrapper. He's 5'6", and 106 lbs.
Cons: None yet. Everything up top is accurate....5 stars. Too soon to report durability.
Amazing Da beast with friends player
Pros: I have had this bat for a while now and it seems better and better every time I pick it up. My friends have composite Easton's like the s1 or the mako. So we had a competition of which bat could hit the ball farther we all took turns. The combat went 260 compared to the Easton's 230 for all of us. In three games I went 7 for 10 with 1hr 2triples 3doubles1si and2 so and a groundouts
Cons: Nope
Bomb Homer player
Pros: Went 8 for ten in three games 1 hr 2 tr 1 double and 4 singles
Cons: Nope
great bat for the money richard coach
Pros: great balanced bat,has great pop out of the wrapper.a couple of my kids including my son has this bat and the mako and this bat is the one they love.several homeruns have came off this bat
Cons: little vibration if not hit on the sweet spot and black paint chips easy
Great Michael player
Pros: This bat is so good I can hit the ball over the fence easy with this bat and the grip is so good that I don't half to buy new bat grip for the bat
Cons: If you get jammed it vibrates sometimes

My son, who is 10, seemed to be more of a contact hitter. However; he has been swinging the bat a lot faster over the past several months, and seems to be getting quite a bit stronger. I have been debating whether to get the 2014 Voodoo or the 2014 Portent. Not sure I understand the differences well enough. For a 10 year old close to 70lbs, athletic build, with an increasing bat speed, which would be a better fit? Christos
My son is 11 (12 baseball age) and a pretty strong kid with good bat speed. He has been swinging a B4 Portent 30" 20 oz. and I was thinking about the new B4 31" 19 oz. i figured the combo of an extra inch with reduced weight would keep his swing weight pretty close. Is there anything other than the B4 that you can recommend? We really love the pop of that bat. Paul
My son is 9 and a big kid for his age at 5ft tall and 90 lbs. He has grown out of his 28" 18 oz. Easton S3 and is currently using a 29" 19 oz. Vexxum. He has adapted well to the end load and has good, but not great bat speed. It seems to be getting faster as he gets stronger. We are looking to upgrade his DeMarini. He really likes the feel of the COMbat bats he has tried. How would he fare with the Portent or is there another model (Combat or other)better suited for his size/strength? Kelly
My son has loved the B3 bat and done very well. He is 12, 5'2" and 80 lbs so definitely a contact hitter as opposed to power hitter. We have been waiting for the 2014 B4 to come out. What is the difference between that and the Portent? jm
My son is a big 9 year old. 5' 125 lbs. He is very strong and was thinking about the 30" 20 oz. or 30" 22 oz.? Plays travel ball and in Pony league. D's Dad
My son is 11 and is 5'2" around 105 lbs. He has been using a DeMarini Voodoo (29/19) for a year now with good success. I am trying to decide what is the next bat size to get for him for 2014. I was leaning toward a 31" COMbat Portent, but cannot decide between a drop -10 and -12. Thoughts? Jaxdad
My son is 12 1/2, weighs 90 lbs, and is 4' 9". He's short but strong. Last year he hit the Combat B3 30" 22 oz. and did well. Should I keep him in a 30" 22 oz. or is the 30" 20 oz. better suited for his age and stature? Baseball Dad

According to the 2014 Dixie League Rule book this bat would be legal for "O" zone division as long as it is no greater than 2 5/8 in diameter and 33" in length. Do you agree with this? kaceman
Does the bat have a big sweet spot? pr
My son is a big 8 1/2. 4'7" and 87 pounds. He is a power hitter, many triples and a fair amount of homers. He loves his Easton S3 29" 19 oz., but it is dimpled. He needs a bat for the all star season and hopefully next season. We are debating between the Easton S1 and the COMBAT Portent. We were looking at 29" 19 oz. for both. What is you suggestion? We need composite. Jay

Can this bat be used in Dixie Youth in Alabama? gann69
My son is moving up from Little League"s 2 1/4 inch diameter bat to travel ball with a 2 5/8 inch diameter bat so I am trying to decide on what bat would be his best option without breaking the bank. The preliminary options are a 29 inch 19 ounce Combat Portent or a 29 inch 19 ounce DeMarini CF7. He was fond of his 2 1/4 inch DeMarini Vexxum 30 inch 16.5 ounce (-13.5) that he used in Little League, but has also liked a teammate"s Combat. Suggestions? RW
