Description

The Half + Half bat that put DeMarini on the map returns for another season! The DeMarini Vexxum has been crushing the ball for years, and this season it's as mean as ever! Once the first of its kind as far as two-piece bats go, this year's Vexxum combines an X10 Alloy barrel with a C6 Composite handle. The X10 Alloy used on the barrel is finely-tuned and shaped to create the thinnest possible walls. This keeps the weight down and opens up the sweet spot for unbelievable performance! The C6 Composite handle works in unison with the alloy barrel and is specifically tailored for the single wall construction of the Vexxum to give it the largest possible hitting surface! C6 features a wider composite weave, which in turn gives it more flex and unparalleled trampoline when the bat makes contact with the ball! The Vexxum is about as balanced as a bat can get, and is absolutely ideal for players looking to improve their swing speed this season! If you want mad pop and a light swing weight, this Vexxum is for you! DeMarini: Born Hardcore! The Vexxum features the USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Pros: So far the bat is great, my son is swinging it like crazy. He is a contact hitter and the balance of this bat compared to other DeMarini's is perfect for him. This is his first two piece composite and he is really noticing less sting in his hands. He moved from a Louisville Catalyst, and the pop from this bat is much better.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Excellent pop, very balanced - my son is 40 lbs. soaking wet - he loves this bat. I would recommend this bat to parents looking for a senior league big barrel bat.

Cons: My son asks me to take him to the park every day to practice - I guess that is not a con, but a positive.

Pros: Great bat! My son plays 10u; & is smaller in size. He is a contact/drive hitter. Had the bat for final tourney of the season. He went from 8th to 5th in Batting Order; & had highest ave of the tourney for his team; after getting the Vexxum. Increased bat speed & great feel. He experienced faster bat speed; & better sweetspot contact.Ball jumps off bat. Highly recommend! Great price too!

Parent Denise parent

Pros: Great bat. Lots of pop.

Cons: My son is 8 and 65 lbs. He can hit with this bat but the end load is a little heavy for him and you can see when he swings it throws him off balance a bit. This is a bat he will grow into. He loves it. It is just a bit too heavy for him right now. He has the 28" -10, 18 oz. The coach is having him choke up on the bat. I am going to buy him another bat and save this one for when he grows into it.

Added Swing Speed TB22 coach

Pros: Great Pop, Increased Swing Speed My boy is a 9U travel player who has used Easton and DeMarini bats in the past and the 50/50 makeup of this bat has resulted in a noticeable increase in swing speed and power. The barrel size may not be as long as some, however, this bat is a rocket. He has named it the Blue Bomber.

Baseball dad Jim coach

Pros: Had the rip it 30/20, 2 3/4 sent it back within 30 day trial period. Got this bat to use in colder weather when the CF5 can't be used. My twin 9 year old boys love this bat. (almost as much as CF5) Very we'll balanced bat, with a ton of pop right out of wrapper. Took about 200 hundred hit off tee to break in. Gonna stick with DeMarini for now on! Never have had a bad experience with any of our DeMarini products (2 1/4 Voodoo, 2 1/4 CF5, 2 5/8 CF5, and now 2 5/8 Vexxum) can't wait for the CF6 to be released!

Not impressed Crazy DAD coach

Pros: Very little if any vibration. Used 2 months and seems very durable.

Cons: This bat is not what it says it is. BALANCED? No.. It's not as end loaded as voodoo but swing the CF5 then tell me it's balanced. Very small sweet spot. This barrel is really short on the senior league. Not much pop. My son struggle with it. I thought it was him then I had our biggest hitter swing it and the ball went no where. My son then tried his buddies CF5 andS3, he started killing the ball.

2014 deMarini vexxum will c player

Pros: this bat has a lot of pop, it can hit balls really far, it is an all around good bat. I have had it for a couple months and it has a few scuffs but it is in great shape. I would really recommend this bat to anyone who is looking for a nice, balanced, durable bat.

Cons: none really but, it does scratch really easy, it also feels heavy at first but after a few games it feels real good.one thing i've noticed was not that many people wan't to use it(maybe because i'm not a good hitter).

Pros: this bat is absolutely wonderful. I've used this bat for probably half a season, and already I'm hitting to the fences! Also, the design is sick!

Pros: I have used the previous vexxum and loved it. When i saw the new 2014 vexxum i knew that i had to get my hands on it. I have used it all year and love it. the pop on this bat is incredible. i really do like the balance and control that you get with this bat. it swings fast and quick. The vibration will this bat is little to none. For the price of this bat and what you get for it is amazing. If you are on the edge i would defiantly recommend this bat

Great bat! Chuck R. coach

Pros: i bought the 30inch/20oz 2 5/8 bat for my 9 year old nephew for Christmas. This was his first year of kid pitch and he has been hitting well with it. Also ended up buying him the 2 1/4 inch as well. We've played 48 games and the bats have great pop still as we have our last Championship game today. Nice balance allows for good bat speed. Our power hitter has the same bat and both boys will end the season batting over .400.

Cons: I can't say anything bad about this bat. The people who complain about scratches are just silly. If you're the bat its going to get scuffed up regardless of what brand or bat.

Currently, my son swings an Easton Reflex 29" -8.5. Its time to upgrade though. I believe he prefers a 2 piece to a 1 piece fully composite. With that being said, I've narrowed it down to this bat or the 2013 VooDoo. Can you help me in making the right choice? 76tiger
Unfortunately, neither the Vexxum or Voodoo is full composite. However, in choosing between the two, it comes down to the player's strength and swing speed. The Vexxum is more balanced and will be better suited for a hitter with average strength and swing speed. The Voodoo is more end loaded and is better suited for hitters with above average strength and swing speed.
Tyler

My son has played most of the season with a Louisville Slugger TPX 2 5/8" barrel, 28" 19 oz. and is pretty good at making contact. Looking at a new bat for tournament and summer play. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat would be a great option. It will be very balanced in swing weight. The two-piece design will help with barrel flex and trampoline effect. The recommended size for him would be the 29" 19 oz.

I'm 13 and 190 lb. power hitter. What bat should I get? johnny baseball

Damon
Whats the theory in difference between the drop 10 and the drop 10.5 Vexxums. I am looking for a new bat for my son who is almost 11 and about 5 ft tall or so and 110 lbs. I know drop 10 is 2 5/8 and drop 10.5 is 2 3/4. I was about to purchase larger barrel and lighter bat but realized it showed it was a coach pitch bat why is that? Tylor K
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXY Junior Big Barrel has thinner walls and is specifically designed for coach pitch. If the bat is used with balls that come in at a higher velocity it can damage the bat. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League can be used in coach pitch, machine pitch, and kid pitch.
Kara
Will this perform as well as a DeMarini Voodoo? 24
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League and DeMarini Voodoo are both BPF 1.15 certified, so they can only perform so well. Any difference you would see in performance would be due to the player's preference to swing weight. The Vexxum is balanced while the Voodoo has a slight end load.
Mac
Which is more balanced the DeMarini Vexxum or DeMarini CF5? BBdad
Both the DeMarini Vexxum and DeMarini CF5 are balanced two-piece bats with Vexxum having a slight edge on balance.
Damon
Is this bat BBCOR certified? Landry
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is not BBCOR certified. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR: DXVXC Adult is BBCOR certified.
Kara
I'm a contact hitter but i want to hit with more power and I'm thinking about either getting the 2014 vexxum or the 2013 Easton s2 A VERY FORMAL HORSE
Both the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum and the 2013 Easton S2 are great bats. Both bats are extremely balanced. The Easton S2 will have more flex to it which will help create more bat speed. If you are looking to add more power, you might want to consider going to a more end loaded model like the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo or the 2013 Easton XL2. The end loaded swing weight will allow you to create more momentum when you take the bat through the hitting zone. The more momentum you can create, the more power you should be able to generate.
John H
Is this 2014 DeMarini Vexxum top heavy? pat
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is going to be a very balanced bat.
Noah
Is it USSSA approved? carl
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is approved for USSSA play.
John H
Is it yellow? barbara
No, the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum is a black and blue design. The 2011 DeMarini Vexxum had a solid yellow barrel and black handle. We have sold out of that model.
John
I'm a contact hitter with a slow bat speed thinking about either getting the 2014 Vexxum or the 2013 Easton S2. Which bat would help me get a quicker bat speed? #SWAGALICOUS
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League and the 2013 Easton S2: SL13S210 Senior League are both very balanced bats, great for increasing your bat speed. They are both great choices.
Kara

The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League has an alloy barrel, BPF 1.15 performance certification, and 2 5/8" barrel diameter so it should be approved for the Juniors Division of Little League baseball. Your coach or league official should be able to give you the official wording, but I see no issue with the legality of the DXVXR.
Mac
My son is 4' tall, 50 lbs, and 6 years old. This is his first year of coach pitch. He has nice, balanced swing and makes good contact. We need to move up to a 2 5/8 barrel and I want to make sure he has a bat that will help give him some pop, but still be pretty balanced. Is this the one for him? Looking at a 27/17. jhardin
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is a very balanced bat and it would be great for a player your sons age.
Noah
Is this bat approved for Pony travel ball? I am 12 and I want this bat. T-dog
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is legal for the Bronco Division (ages 9-12) of official Pony League Baseball, as they allow any drop weight, as long as the barrel diameter is limited to a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. If you're in the Pony Division (ages 11-14) of Pony League Baseball, they require all models to be a BBCOR certified model, such as the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum NVS BBCOR: DXVXC Adult.
Katie
What do the numbers at the end of the barrel represent? first pitch
Those numbers on the end of the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League designate DeMarini's Rotation Index. It's a numerical ring around the top of the barrel to remind players to rotate their bat for an even break-in (on composite barrels). You can keep track of what side of the bat you are hitting on. It will keep you from wearing out one side of the bat for alloy models, like the Vexxum.
Mac
My son turned 12 in Aug. and is 5'4", 140 lbs. Presently he is using a 5150 youth hybrid 2 1/4". 31" 20 oz. His bat is worn out. He needs a new one. Don't mind about the price. Just want to make sure this is the right bat for him, and if it can be used in Little League and Pony League? He might go to Pony League this spring. ken
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is an excellent choice. It is very balanced and has great pop. It can be used in Pony, the Intermediate and Juniors Division of Little League.
Kara

Yes, the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is legal for Pony Pinto Division.

Does this bat say it is approved for Dixie Youth league? Cartershme71
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League has the USSSA BPF 1.15 "thumbprint" stamp and has a 2 5/8" barrel, so it is approved for DIXIE baseball in divisions that allow Big Barrel bats. Youth Big Barrel or Senior League bats are not stamped with "Approved for DIXIE Youth" like Youth bats are.
Mac
Would you recommend this bat for a contact hitter who is a 12u player with average bat speed who is 4' 9" tall and 75 lbs? q
Yes. The DeMarini Vexxum is a very well balanced bat for someone with average bat speed.
Damon
My son plays 10U and currently swings a Louisville Slugger 28" 18 oz and he wants a Vexxum. What are the pros/cons of the 2 5/8 vs the 2 3/4? Which do you recommend? muhguhfuh
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League has a 2 5/8" barrel and players in high school and beyond cannot have bats that exceed a 2 5/8" barrel diameter. A 2 3/4" barrel does give the player a bigger hitting surface, but this barrel size is not allowed in all leagues.
Jason
Is the Vexxum 2014 DXVXR legal for Intermediate 50/70 Little League play? baller
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League is legal in Intermediate 50/70 Little League.
Kara
My sons 6th grade coach said that my son needs a 7.15 -10 or -8 bat. I have seen 1.15 but not 7.17. Is that correct? Marty
A youth big barrel bat such as the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League will only have a 1.15 BPF stamp. There is not a 7.15 BPF.
Kara
My son weighs 53 lbs. and is 50" tall. He will be playing in a kid pitch league next year and we are trying to decide between a 2 1/4" bat verses 2 5/8" bat. What is the recommended size and weight? Jason
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League bat would be a great big barrel choice for a boy in kid pitch. The 2 5/8" barrel diameter would help give him a slightly larger hitting surface. The recommended size would be a 28" bat length.
Brandon
I'm looking for a senior league bat for my son who will be playing 13u travel and Babe Ruth. He is a smaller kid, contact hitter. He hits better with a balanced bat verses an end loaded bat. Jim
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League would be a great option. It would be legal for Babe Ruth and travel ball. The Vexxum is high performing, and very balanced.
Justin R.
Is this bat more balanced than the DeMarini Voodoo. My son has a 2013 Voodoo 30"/17 oz. I was thinking about getting him a DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) 29"/18.5 oz big barrel or a 29"/19 oz. He is around 55 inches tall at 9 years old. Just wondering how the swing weight feel would compare. Eyeball49
The DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) will be a balanced swing weight compared to the DeMarini Voodoo which will have an end-loaded swing weight. The DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) will swing lighter than the DeMarini Voodoo will.
Kelby
My son plays u13 baseball he had a 29" last year. Should he move up to a 30"? babe
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is based on height and weight. However, based on his age we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior League. For more sizing information check out our bat coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
Do the yellow balls at batting cages affect a bat? the king
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League, in commercial batting cages that use yellow "dimple" balls. These balls are more dense than the game balls that the bats are designed to hit. Also, many manufacturers list in their warranty details that hitting these balls will void your warranty against defects.
Mac
How does this bat compare to the 2012 Vexxum DXVNL Youth bat? My son has the Vexxum and loves it, but we are looking for a big barrel bat. MLS
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior league is a well balanced and high performing bat. It uses the same composite in the handle as the 2012 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVNL) youth model, but uses a higher performing X10 alloy.
Damon
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League vs. 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR: B1410 Senior League. Any opinion for a pick? Advantages and disadvantages, balance, for both. Or other recommendations? He is 12U, AA, and is 5'2" 120#. Thanks. Proud Papa
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) and the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1410) are both very balanced bats. The DeMarini Vexxum is a two-piece bat and is designed for a contact hitter. The RIP-IT Senior AIR is a one-piece design and is typically used by a power hitter.
Kara
Which bat has more pop out of the DeMarini Vexxum and the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord? Druzick Basebal
The DeMarini Voodoo Overlord has an end loaded swing weight and the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League has a balanced swing weight. The Overlord has a little more pop than the Vexxum because of the extra mass it has in the barrel. The Overlord is better suited for power hitters and the Vexxum is best suited for contact hitters.
Jason
With the handle composite, what are the recommendations for use in colder temperatures? LRS
Typically, we do not recommend using any bat, including the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR), in temperatures below 60 degrees. Regulation baseballs tend to get harder in the colder temperatures and can cause more damage to the bat.
Tessa L.
My son is 4' 6" 60 lbs, and he currently uses a 28" 18 oz. TPX Omaha. How does the Vexxum compare? What size would you recommend? Mark
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: DXVXR Senior League will be slightly different from the Omaha in that it is a two-piece bat with a composite handle and alloy barrel. The Omaha is a one-piece all aluminum model. Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend a 29" 19 oz model.
Justin R.
My son is 9 and 4'10" and 90 lbs. He used a Easton XL 1 28" 18 oz. last year hitting over 200 feet with it. He has grown a lot since last year. What size bat would you recommend? Kim
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR).

Based on your son's height and weight, we would suggest a 31 inch size of the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior League bat.
Patrick
My son is nine and will be ten this summer. He currently uses a Voodoo 29/16 and is the best hitter in the league. He is about 4'7" and weighs about 60 pounds. His hitting coach is a college coach and hasn't recommended a big barrel bat yet due to the weight. Do you have a big barrel bat you would recommend? Eric
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 29" model in the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior League or the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFX) Senior League.
Jason
Should you normally go to a heavier bat because of the composite handle? My 8U has been using full alloy 27" -10 and I think he can handle 29" -10 (especially since composite handle). DCREC
The composite handle on the Vexxum does make the bat feel a little more light weight then other bats. However, the best way to determine the correct bat size is by height and weight. The most important thing is to have a bat that the player is comfortable swinging and that is not too long or too short. For correct sizing information please check out our bat coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason

Tessa L.
Would you recommend this bat or the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1410) Senior League for a 5'1" 115 lbs. contact hitter? dream catcher
Both are great balanced bats. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) Senior League two-piece design will help cut down on vibration, whereas the 2014 RIP-IT Senior AIR (B1410) Senior League in a one-piece design and will have a stiffer feel.
Damon

The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum (DXVXR) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo (DXVDR) both use the same quality alloy materials in the barrel. They are both high performing. The Voodoo will be stiffer because of the new paradox materials in the handle. It is also more end loaded.

I am 5'2" and 120 lbs. What bat size should I use? Chaz
Based on your approximate height and weight I would suggest a 31" in the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: (DXVXR).
Merritt
I am 5'3" and 105 pounds. What size and weight should I get? I am also looking for a size that can last me at least two years. David
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest a 31/21 in the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum: (DXVXR). However, if you are looking for a size to last you a little bit longer, I would probably suggest using a 32" or 33".
Merritt

My son is nearing the end of his 12U season and will be playing in Cooperstown next month. He is a line drive contact high average hitter that has hit a couple out of 200' fields. He currently swings a Rawlings 5150, 31" 21 oz. bat. If all else is equal, is it reasonable to expect some added distance from this DeMarini bat? Scott
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) features a two-piece design, whereas the Rawlings 5150 is a one-piece bat. A contact hitter will usually prefer a two-piece design because of the flex that it allows. Two-piece bats flex during your swing causing a whip-like actions that helps the head of the bat whip forward at the moment of contact, generating more inertia and power. Both models feature some great technology that make them both extremely balanced options to go with. It is tough to say for certain if your son could get some additional distance with the Vexxum, however, the flex of the two-piece may be able to give him some additional distance.
Tessa
Which bat is better for a contact hitter: the S1 or the Vexxum? Cruz
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) are both excellent bats for contact hitters. They are both two-piece designs with balanced swing weights. The DeMarini Vexxum is one of the most balanced bats on the market and will not require a break-in period because of the alloy barrel.
Jason
Which senior league bat would you recommend for a contact-hitter? Also, what senior league bat is the most balanced? Webo
I would highly recommend the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat: (DXCFX). The two-piece construction is generally preferred by contact-hitters, because it will provide extra flex for players while swinging through the zone. This model is also one of the most balanced bats, and is extremely easy to generate bat speed. Therefore, this particular model will be an excellent choice for contact-hitters such as yourself.
Merritt
Which senior league bat would you recommend for a contact-hitter? I can't decide between the CF6, the Vexxum, or the S1. Curz
All three of these models are going to be excellent candidates for contact-hitters. The two-piece, balanced design will provide extra flex, and will make it easy to swing through the zone. I would probably recommend the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat: (DXCFR). This model will have added technology called D-Fusion Handle Technology to help reduce vibrations and extend the sweet-spot.
Merritt
Is this bat approved in the Super Series Baseball of America league? Shannnon

Unfortunately, neither the DeMarini Vexxum or Voodoo is available in a -8. The only DeMarini bat made in that size is the 2014 DeMarini CF6 (DXCFR).
Bobby
What is the difference between the DXVXR and DXVXY? Bbguy
The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League (DXVXY) is designed for the younger players that are in coach pitch, machine pitch, or just beginning kid pitch. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) is designed mainly for kid pitch. This is designed for players between 9-13 years old.
John
Being a hybrid, can I use this bat in colder weather? Upandown
Regardless of material, it is not great to use any bat in temperatures below 55 degrees. The ball becomes more dense and that is what causes alloy barrel bats to dent and composite barrel bats to crack. Typically alloy barrel bats, like the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR), do tend to hold up better in colder temperatures though.
Jason
Is it a -10? cdub
Yes, the 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) is a -10 drop.
Brandon
My 9-year-old son is one of the bigger kids on his team and hits for power, but rarely pulls anything with power. Most of his deep hits go to right-center. Should we go with a balanced bat like the DXVXR? Dugan
Typically we recommend a two-piece balanced bat for contact or gap style hitters. Power hitters usually prefer one-piece models with an endload. The 2014 DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) will feature a two-piece hybrid design with a C6 Composite Handle and an X10 Alloy barrel.
Joe
My son is 8 and plays Pony League. Is this bat legal? V Dog
The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) is legal for that level of play.
Patrick
My son is 9 years old, 63 pounds and 4 foot 5 inches. He is more of a contact hitter than power hitter. He used a 27 in bat last year. Is it a clear choice that we should buy the 29 in or is there a concern moving up two inches in bat length? Cheese
The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) if a great bat for a contact hitter. For his size and weight the 29 inch is the recommended size, but that is going to be quite a step up from the 27 inch. He could definitely use the 28 inch if you think he would be more comfortable gradually moving up in length.
Frankie
Would this bat be a good balanced bat for a contact hitter? I was thinking about getting the S3, but not sure if this would be an overall better balanced bat? mouse
The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) is an extremely balanced bat and is a great option for a contact hitter. The S3 is another balanced option that is great for contact hitters. Ultimately, the two-piece design combined with the balanced swing weight make the Vexxum a slightly better option for contact hitters.
Jason
In your and public opinion is this or the Easton S2 better? I assume they are similar in construction? skamin20
The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) will feature a very similar design as the Easton S2. They both feature composite handles and alloy barrels. They both are very balanced in swing feel. Actually, both get great reviews. Either bat would be a great choice, one is not better than the other.
Brandon
Is this bat allowed in the Little League Intermediate 50/70 league? matt
The DeMarini Vexxum Senior League Baseball Bat (DXVXR) has an alloy barrel and features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp, which makes it legal for play in Little League Intermediate 50/70.

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
