If you have a serious player, this is the bat James parent

Pros: 2 3/4 barrel!!! Light, very well balanced, a huge sweet spot, and sounds great when it makes contact. I have a 9 year old who plays on a 10U travel ball team. this is the go to bat. He's swung the XL1, S1, and Mako 2 1/4 and recently the S1 big barrel. He says this is the best one yet and the results prove it.

Cons: The cost!

Pros: Giant sweet spot! Cool design i like the bright colors and matt finish!

Cons: Grip is already falling appart! Takes forever to break in. Everyone seems to be poping up with this bat no one was hitting the ball hard on the ground. Way to expensive for how long it takes for the bat to get to its full potential! Blisters easily

This Bat is the Real Deal Rich Schnippel parent

Pros: Great pop...feels great in the hands, the 2-3/4" is barrrel is almost impossible to miss! This bat instills plenty of confidence. Not that it's important, but the graphics are really nice. We haven't felt any vibration in the handle...not sting...that's very amazing even with a miss hit. Overall, very happy with the bat, looking forward to a great season with it. Easton is definitely at the forefront of bat technology that works...not just fancy words to make you think you're getting something special. Had to put five stars for durability...only on the assumption that it will last...have not had it long enough to determine that.

Cons: Price...but as they say, you get what you pay for...this bat is delivering some serious performance so far. Although the graphics are pretty cool the white will be showing the wear and tear more quickly. We found that a Magic Eraser cleans it very well.

Cracked Bat After One Week Justin parent

Pros: Bat has a very balanced feel, looks great

Cons: The bat is cracked in two places after a 5 game tournament. I know Easton will replace it but when you spend $350 on a bat for an 11 yr old, it's disheartening when you have to return it.

Worth it. Baseball parents parent

Pros: I thought it was too pricy for my 7 years but I changed mind after I saw how my son hitting differently. His 8U team players has this one or XL1. My son is so happy with it and he loves it more everyday. It has a giant sweet spot but very balanced. My son is 4 feet and 58 pounds. We got a 27/17oz and it's seems little heavier than we thought but he said it doesn't feel like heavy when he swing it. He said it feel lighter than Easton youth S2 28/15oz with 2 1/4 barrel.

Cons: The grip gets dirty quickly but we using 5 days a week so I guess it's reasonable.

Sweet bat Casey Melton parent

Pros: This bat is everything it is talked up to be. My son has had it for about 3 months and is hitting the ball harder then he ever has. batting practice has become a hospital visit for the balls. You need to buy a box of bandaids to put on the balls after hitting sessions. Easton has always led the industry in baseball bats and they hit the nail on the head with this one. Love this bat and so does the rest of my boys travel team. This bat is a must for the serious ball players!

Never Again JChill parent

Pros: Very balanced bat with good pop out of the wrapper.

Cons: My son plays 11U baseball. I bought him the Mako 30/20 for Christmas. He used the bat for a week and the bat cracked in two places. We live in sunny CA, so weather was not an issue. He never used the bat in the cage, only live pitching with Diamond baseballs. I sent the bat back to Easton for a replacement and was initially told the bat was on back order until February. I waited patiently and called back in February and was told the replacement would not be available until late June. Customer service was apologetic as you would expect but informed me that my only viable option was to wait until they had a restock on replacement bats. For $349 + tax, I expected a better product. I am now looking at the Louisville Assault as a replacement for my son.

Make sure you duck behind your L-Frame!!!! Mr. Excitement coach

Pros: This bat is unreal. The sweet spot is absolutely huge on this bat. I bought a DM CF6, a Louisville Attack and this bat for my son this year. The CF6 hasn't left the wrapper and will be returned now that we've had some serious swing time with the Mako. The light swing weight, the giant barrel and the huge sweet spot (did I mention it has a huge sweet spot?) have made for some scary times in the cages this winter. I tell all our boys that the BP coaches should be afraid when we are pitching in the cages, and the kids that are swinging the Mako are definitely our scariest hitters.

Cons: Durability remains to be seen. With the price of the Mako, my son will be swining the Attack on days where the temperature is marginal. Not that that's a bad thing as we are very impressed with the Attack as well.

Pricy BUT a Great Bat An Easton Convert parent

Pros: My son is in U-11, Tall and Skinny (5'4"), and weighs about 100 lbs. His problem has never been his swing, but instead his hands hurting from vibration when he hit it. Over time he'd quit swinging hard because he didn't want to hurt his hands. This bat has amazingly little vibration. Because his hands don't hurt, he swings harder and better, and the ball just flies. I was reluctant to spend this much on a bat, but this puppy is worth it.

Cons: Gets dirty, but so what

Pros: This bat feels like it swings itself. I'm 14 years old 5' 10" and before I used bb core and it just didn't have enough pop (.5 bpf due to restrictions) and after I gave the mako a couple of swings at academy I had to have it.

Hoping for more BZ parent

Pros: Huge barrel, Very well balanced, light swing. Off centered hit seem to travel better. No sting

Cons: Me & the son arent as impressed with it so far. So not seeing the hype. Has about 100 hits on it. Just seems like solid hits arent nothing more than a hard ground ball, isnt getting any distance with it so we're hoping maybe just needs more break in time..right now nothing more than a practice bat as he'll continue to use his S3 in game unless we see something different.

Don't believe the hype--very overrated Unintentional Bat Collector coach

Pros: Looks cool. Was definitely the in bat to try. Unfortunately, all but 1 of the 5 players on my team that bought this bat have given up on it even after extensive break in.

Cons: Bat is not as balanced as it claims--others are more so. Barrel is long, but sweet spot isn't. Balls just a touch toward the handle or end just die. Have a team full of parents irritated at paying for a $350 bat their kid won't use. Way more success with Vertex, S2 and S3.

Good bat but the S1 series bat just as good Bama85 parent

Pros: This is a quality bat and once it is "broken in" will provide excellent results

Cons: Bat doesn't seem to be balanced and more end loaded ... My son used the S1 prior to this bat and was hitting really well with that bat, but the cap came loose which prompted me to buy the MAKO. My son is a line drive hitter but started getting under the ball more after using this bat. Upon weighing the bat (30 - 20 model) I found that the bat is closer to 22 ounces not 20 ounces. Switched to a 31 - 21 Worth Lithium Prodigy that I bought 2 years ago during a closout of the bat (Hitting really well with it). Not giving up on the bat but think my son needs to get a little stronger before picking it back up. If I had it to do over again I would buy the S1 series bat (Just as good a bat in my opinion)

This bat is fooling a lot of people Derek coach

Pros: made to last

Cons: This bat fails to hit a ball out of the infield. Had 2 players last year that hit 300 foot homeruns as 11 year olds and they have yet to hit a ball over the outfielders head this year. The bat is unbalanced to the point it is nearly impossible to hit square. If the ball is hit unsquare it will just dribble to the pitcher or pop up to the pitcher. I use it to hit my warm ups and I have to put everything I have in the swing to hit a fly ball to the outfield, where as I use other bats such as the TPX Catalyst and I can hit fly balls 1 handed. This bat is fooling a lot of people that it is a good bat. it itsn't and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

just not that good MidSouthElite coach

Pros: Looks great. Barrel is large. Durable

Cons: 7 kids on 12 major used this bat. just did not perform. In cages, solid hits nearly rip the net, but in game, any little deviation from the sweetspot (which is actually smaller than one would think) is a weak grounder or blooping fly ball. Very dissappointed. Entire team switched back to S1, XL1 or the -8 Rip It. Team average went up drastically. S1, XL1, Rip It or much better. XL1 best bat is youth baseball if you can get the mass to the ball out front.

Unbelievable pop! Joel Zumbolo coach

Pros: Do not have to swing hard for the ball to fly a mile.

Cons: I have to imagine this bat is going to be illegal somewhere in the near future. I have coached many of tournaments this year where the other team has had this bat. Time and time again the ball flies off this bat like no other bat I have ever seen. And the sound is eerily quiet. Very deceptive in nature. Just last tourney a 8u kid who couldn't of weighed more than 70lbs took a swing or I should say a half swing with no load or stride and dropped his hands to boot and knocked it 180ft. Jealous? Heck yeah I am jealous! But nonetheless there is no way this bat continues for another two years. Someone, somewhere is lying about its specs and/or material, because it does not feel like composite which is probably why it comes off the shelf hot.

Impressive bat, a bit much for a 8yr old (27/17) Chris parent

Pros: My son begged for this bat, bought it sight unseen. Picked up the 27/17. This is an impressive looking bat. My 8yr old's previous bat was a 26/16 TPX. The TPX feels more evenly balanced compared to this bat. The MAKO feels more end loaded. I personally hit balls to the outfielders and had to be careful not to swing too hard. Was sending rockets to the outfield. It has a wide sweet spot. Ball explodes off the bat when struck firmly. Has a ping that we love to hear when striking the ball.

Cons: The bat feels heavier than 17. My 8yr old's swing slowed down noticeably from his 16. Not in love with the white grip and expect the bat to look very dirty after a couple of months use (a lot of white on the barrel as well). The handle 'feels' small compared to the size of the barrel. This may be an optical illusion as the barrel's width increases quickly. But for a 27, the proportions look a bit comical. Only practiced with it a couple of weeks between summer travel ball and fall ball. But may have to shelve the bat for the fall and hope he swings it better in the spring.

Pros: This is a very balanced bat with pretty good pop. It has a very big barrel but a smaller sweet spot. There is barely any vibrations on mishits. I just had a tournament and all I was hitting was hard line drives to the gaps

Cons: Scratches VERY easily after one tournament has a lot of cosmetic dinks and scratches

Pros: Looks great, swings good, large sweet spot. If you have a child who is slow through the zone, and or who is having trouble squaring up the ball this would be a great bat to buy to improve there success.

Cons: I would like to see more pop, this bat has been reviewed several time as having tons of pop, and I have yet to see it. I have 3 of these and none pop as well as a few other bats I own.

There are two new Easton bats that are drop 10, with 2 3/4 barrel (MAKO and the 2014 S3). Which bat would be better for an 8 almost 9 year old who weighs about 55 pounds? Debbie
If he is a contact hitter the two-piece design of the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is the best option. If he is a power hitter the 2014 Easton S3: SL14S310B Senior League is a better choice.
Kara
My son used an XL1 28" 18 oz. last season. He needs to move to a Senior League bat this year. Would the MAKO 28" 18 oz. work or should he move to a 29" 19 oz.? He's 4'8 and about 87 pounds. CJ
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29" 19 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League.
Kara
Is there a difference in performance between this bat and the Easton S1? jrey620
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League and S1 Senior League have the same performance certification, so they will not outperform each other in testing. However, the MAKO is more forgiving with the extended sweet spot, but both models have balanced swing weight for better bat speed and control.
Mac
My son used a 32" 22 oz. Easton XL1 last year and he needs a Senior League bat this year. Would you recommend the 2014 MAKO or the 2014 Easton XL1? Bomber19
2014 The Easton XL1 Senior League will be end loaded like the youth model and will come in a -8 and -5 drop. The 2014 Easton MAKO will have the extended barrel like the XL1 but will be more balanced like the Easton S1. It only comes in 2 3/4" barrel and -10. If he is more of a power hitter I would recommend an Easton XL1.
Damon

The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League uses new TCT Thermo composite that allows the bat to have an extended barrel and balanced swing weight. The Easton XL1 and the Eaton S1 uses the same IMX composite material. The Easton XL1 has a slightly longer barrel than the Easton MAKO.

My son is 12, 95 lbs., 5' and mostly a contact hitter. Would you recommend this bat, or the new CF6-DXCFX and in what size? TR
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model. Both the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League bat and the 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFX Senior League bat are two-piece fully composite designs with balanced swing weights.
Aubrey
My son is 8. He currently swings an XL3 Youth Big Barrel. I'm looking to purchase him a new bat. Which bat would you recommend, XL3, S3 or the Mako Youth Big Barrel? I don't know if he is strong enough to flex the composite bat. He currently swings a 27" 17 oz. corey
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is the most balanced of the three options, which is great for contact hitters to increase swing speed, which will ultimately increase power. If he doesn't struggle with swing peed and is a power hitter, the XL3 is a great option.
Katie

John
Is the Easton MAKO approved for 2014 play? goode

Between the Mako SL14MKB 28/18, the Combat Portent B4 XL, the Easton S1, and Easton S3 which would have the lowest MOI and be the easiest bat to swing? Is the difference significant or relatively insignificant? Aiden
Out of those bats, the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League will have a significantly lower MOI and lighter swing weight. The Easton S1, S3, and COMBAT B4 will all be comparable.
Tori
I am 13, 5'3" and weigh 105 lbs. I'm a power hitter. Would this be a good bat for me or the CF6? Irishboy2
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League bat would be a great choice for a 13 year old hitter. Both the MAKO and the DeMarini CF6 will feature a two-piece fully composite design. They will be very balanced and produce quick bat speed through the zone.
Brandon
My son is 12, 5'2" and 91 lbs. He is a contact hitter. Would the Easton Mako Senior League or the XL1 be a good choice? What size length should he use? Baseball Kid
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is going to be light weight which will allow for increased swing speeds and be a better choice for a contact hitter. The XL1 is end loaded and would be better suited for a power hitter. Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend using a 31'' bat. For more information on sizing please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tori
My son is playing 9U next season. What is the difference in performance of the MAKO SL14MKB versus the Junior Big Barrel version (JBB14MK)? Rich
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League will be best suited for your son because it will be more durable. The Junior Big Barrel JBB14MK is designed to be used in tee ball and coach pitch. A Junior Big Barrel bat will be less durable than a Senior League bat and will not be able to hold up to kid pitch.
Tori
My son used the Easton S3 30" his first year of coach would you recommend the MAKO or the Xl3? He is a power hitter, but he needs more bat speed. We are going up to kid pitch in spring. los254
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League has a balanced swing weight and is better for hitters that need to increase their bat speed. The 2014 Easton XL3: SL14X39 Senior League is end loaded and is better for power hitters who already have good swing speed.
Jason
My son likes the drop 10. Which would be a better bat for him the MAKO 2 3/4 or the YBXL1. He is 9 so I don't think he can swing the drop 8 XL1. jon
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League has a balanced swing weight and will be preferred by contact hitters. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth has an end load and is preferred by power hitters. It will depend on what type of hitter he is.
Jason
I play in the New York elite league and I need a double barrel. I am not a homerun hitter, but I get a lot of doubles to the gap. Is this bat right for me? Bwin
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League features an extended barrel, balanced swing weight, and the newest composite available. It sounds like the MAKO would be a great fit for you.
Justin R.
My son is a 11U travel team and he is not a power hitter at all. Is this a good bat for a non- power hitter? smu
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is a very balanced, two-piece composite bat. It is designed for a contact hitter that needs to increase their bat speed. It also has an extended barrel. The MAKO would be a great choice for him.
Kara
Does this bat have the USSSA BPF stamp? Al
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League has the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp.
Tori
What is the difference between the MAKO and CF6? anner
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League and the CF6 will both be balanced and light weight. The CF6 will have a stiffer swing because of the D-Fusion handle that helps decrease vibration. The MAKO will have a slightly longer barrel.
Tori
When are you going to get the Easton Mako in a 2 5/8'' barrel? Baseball Guy
We are scheduled to get the 2014 Easton MAKO 2 5/8'' barrel in January.
Tori
Is the MAKO or the CF6 better? billy

Kara
My son has the MAKO with the 2 5/8" barrel which is a -9. Is the 2 3/4" barrel that much better of a bat than the 2 5/8"? Thanks for the great input! BayBay
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League and the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MK9 Senior League use the same high performing composite materials. The only differences are the SL14MKB is lighter and has a larger hitter surface.
Kara
Does this bat come BBCOR certified? jose
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is not BBCOR certified. The BBCOR model is called the 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult.
Katie
Does this bat have temperature restrictions when it can be used? Jeff
We recommend not using the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League in temperatures below 55 degrees. The ball itself gets harder in colder temperatures and the bat will be more susceptible to cracking and denting on contact.
Tessa L.
So,if your a power hitter and you just got the mako, will it break soon? Killer Rival
Although it is a composite design on the Mako, it will still come out of the wrapper with pop. Once you reach 150-200 hits off it though, it should be broken in. Just make sure to rotate the bat a quarter turn every 5 hits or so to assure the barrel receives equal swings for proper break-in.
Derek
Is this bat more for contact hitters or home run hitters? Woody
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is best suited for a contact hitter.
Tori
Does this have an extened barrell sweet spot like the XL1 has? Coach
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB is a balanced bat with an extended barrel design like the Easton XL1.
Tessa L.
My son is 10 years old, 52" tall and weighs 103 lbs (solidly built). Based on the chart it would suggest a 30/20 for him. I want to get specific advice on whether you agree with the recommendation. He is what I like to call a power hitter in training: Good bat speed, hand/eye coordination & good mechanics. But he is new to the game, is one of the better hitters on the team and often hits line drives opposite field just above 2nd base batting right. studysmart
Yes, a 30" 20 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League bat would work fine for him. The extended barrel length and balanced feel will definitely help him succeed as a hitter.
Brandon
Is there any difference between 2013 Easton S1 and this 2014 MAKO bat? jon
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League is very different from the 2013 Easton S1. The MAKO has upgraded composite, a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, a more balanced swing weight and a larger sweet spot.
Justin R.
Besides the barrel size and drop weight, what is the difference between the Mako senior league -10 and -9 models? Lonnie
The 2014 Easton MAKO -10 (SL14MKB) and the Easton MAKO -9 (SL14MK9) are going to use the same TCT Thermo Composite Technology. The only difference between the two are the barrel diameters and the length-to-weight ratio.
John
Deciding on this MAKO or the new Louisville Attack -10. My son is 12 yrs old, weighs 89 lbs, is about 5 ft tall. I'm sure either would be good for him but I'm more concerned about what one would be more durable. Looking at a 30" bat for him. He's not real big and feel he could benefit from more bat speed which makes me lean toward the MAKO. Any help or info is appreciated. Dad1
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO (SK14MKB) and the Louisville Attack are two piece composite bats that feature a balanced swing weight. They will be comparable in performance, however the MAKO does feature the TCT Thermo Composite material in the barrel, which makes for an incredible (if not the fastest) bat speed available on the market today.
Tessa L.
Can you use this bat in a Babe Ruth baseball league? Dylan
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is not legal in Babe Ruth. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified.
Kara
My son is 5'2" tall and weighs 120 lbs. What length and weight should he use? He has never used a 2 3/4" barrel before, only a 2 1/4" barrel. That bat was a 31" CF5. Thanks. SAD
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Kara
My son is 4'10" and weighs 96 lbs. I'm thinking about getting him the 29' 18 oz. bat. Will this be a good fit for a big barrel for him? bigsteel
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a great choice for him. It is a very balanced bat that uses top of the line composite materials for outstanding performance. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 19 oz. bat.
Kara

My son is 4'2.5" and 55 pounds. He plays U10 travel ball. What size bat would you suggest? Harris
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 28" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
Can this bat be used in cool temperatures below 50 degrees? ce
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton MAKO: (SL14MKB) Senior League, in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
Is this a -3? Lance99
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League is a -10. The 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR (BB14MK) Adult is the -3 model.
Jason
If you have really fast bat speed, could you be a home run hitter? T-bone
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League could definitely help your power. The bat speed this bat will help get you will be great!
Brandon
My son is currently using the 2013 S3 30" 20 oz BB. We want to gain more bat speed when we face faster pitchers, he is little behind sometimes. would it be better to get the 29" 19 oz or the 30" 20 oz in the MAKO? He is 8 yrs old, 48" tall and weighs 121 lbs? Carlos
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League. The 29" model will help him increase his bat speed.
Jason
I'm 12, I'm 5' 6", approx 120 lbs. I bat usually 4th, 5th or 6th. What size bat do you suggest? drewbie
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Kara
My son is 4'6" and weighs 55 lbs. Would the MAKO composite 2 3/4", -10 28" 18 oz. be good for him? baseball mom
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a very well balanced two-piece composite bat. It is a great option for a smaller player. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 29" 19 oz. bat.
Kara
Can you use the Mako 30" 20 oz. for coach pitch? He currently uses the S3 30" 20 oz., but I would like to have another bat in his arsenal. Los
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) can be used in coach, machine, and kid pitch. It is very high performing and an excellent choice for a second bat.
Kara
My son is 9 yrs old and weighs about 65 pounds and is about 4'4" tall. He is using a his friends big barrel 30" 20 oz. bat during practice because he doesn't have a big barrel bat and is swing pretty well and hitting the ball pretty good. What size MAKO bat would you recommend? Wanting to buy him a new bat. Scott
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 28" 18 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB). However, if he is comfortable with using a 30" 20 oz. bat, we would recommend using the same size.
Kara
What MAKO bat is legal in Juniors Division through Ladera Ranch Little League? I'm 14, 5'10", and just want the best legal bat possible that I can use in my league. Spencer
If your league does not require BBCOR bats then the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League bat would be an option. Although the -10 sizing may be too light for a 14 year old. The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MK9 Senior League or Adult size 2014 Easton MAKO BBCOR: BB14MK Adult may be a better option for you.
Brandon
My son is 12, playing USSSA Majors. He is 4'11" 98lbs. What size of MAKO -10 would he need? Shuck-n-it
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
My son is 8 years old (9 in May), 73 lbs, and 54" tall. He is playing competitive baseball for the first time this year. He is has a big swing but is often a little late. What bat would you recommend? D.CA

Kara
My son is 12 years old and is now 5'9" and weighs around 120 lbs. He has been using an S1 30/20. What size? #19
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
I have narrowed my search do to either the MAKO 31" 21 oz. or the COMBAT Portent 31" 19 oz. As far as quality of bats and reputation which would you recommend? jon
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) and the 2014 COMBAT Portent (PORSL112) are both very high performing bats. The two-piece design of the Easton MAKO is typically preferred by a contact hitter. The COMBAT Portent is a one-piece bat and is used by power hitters.
Kara
Is this bat legal for Babe Ruth 13-15 Division? baseball king
No. The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League has a composite barrel. Composite barrel bats in the 13-15 Babe Ruth Division must be BBCOR certified.
Damon
My son is 13 years old and he needs a big barrel bat. He is 70 pounds and 5'2". What size do you think he needs? dam
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
I am 14 years old weighing 250 pounds. What size bat would be recommended? big c
Based on your age, we suggest a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League. For more sizing information, check out our bat coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
My son is currently using the combat B3 blue bat 30/20. He has a lot of power and quick hands. What is the power advantage between one & two piece composite design of the combat & the MAKO? PC
A one piece design like the COMbat will offer a stiffer feel that many power hitters prefer. A two piece design like the Easton MAKO provides more flex creating more of a whipping motion through the swing. Really, the desire for more flex versus a stiffer feel varies from player to player.
Patrick
My 11 year old son is 5' 1" and weighs 105 lbs. He has good bat speed and power. Which MAKO Senior League model and size would you recommend? DJ
Either the 2014 Easton MAKO: (SL14MKB) Senior League and (SL14MK9) would be great options for the majority of players. Even though the (SL14MK9) has a -9 length to weight ratio, it feels just as balanced as the -10 option. It really depends on what restrictions your league has to the barrel diameter when choosing between the two. Based on his height and weight, we would recommend a 31" model.
Mac
my son is 12 and is 5foot and weights 96. What size bat does he need CK
We would recommend a 30" in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) for a player his size.
John
My son is 5' and 160 lbs. He's a power hitter. What bat size and length would you recommend? Need a big barrel. corey
The 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League would be a great choice for him in a 31" bat length. The weight can differ depending on his age and league.
Brandon
My son is 5"5 and 126 lbs. He has great bat speed and is strong. What's is a good fit for him in size and weight? Beck
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Tessa L.
What size would you recommend for my 6-soon to be 7 year old? This is his second season in 8U and has great bat speed. Just looking for a little more pop. He is currently swinging a 2014 Voodoo youth 28" 15 oz. DXVDL. Lastly, how would you compare this to the Voodoo and CF5 as he has both? Duffy
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a two-piece composite bat. It is balanced like the DeMarini CF5 and is similar in performance. The DeMarini Voodoo is end loaded and best suited for a power hitter.
Kara
My son is 5'1" and 90 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? Andy
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
Is it better to get a 2 3/4 diameter barrel or a 2 5/8 barrel if you can use both? Cobras#7
In general if you are able to use the bigger barrel size and you feel the player benefits from that added size in their ability to square the ball up, that would be the better option. As the player progresses through the upper divisions of baseball, however, the 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter is the more widely accepted size. BBCOR certified bats that the player will need to use in high school and beyond are the 2 5/8 inch barrel diameter.
Patrick
How do you wash off marks from balls on the Easton Mako? TG23
It is recommended to clean composite baseball bats with soapy water and a rag. It is important to use a bleach free soap. Any other products could cause damage to the composite materials.
Patrick
My son is 10 yrs. old 4'7 and weighs 76 lbs. What size bat do you recommend? Based on what I have read I'm thinking 29/20. Thanks for your help. Tony
Based off of your son's height and weight, the recommended length is indeed a 29" bat. The weight varies based on what is he currently swinging and how well he is getting the bat through the zone. Keep in mind that as the player grows older, you will want to put him in a heavier bat each year as they get closer to the high school requirements of a -3 oz. bat.
Austin
My son is 8yr old and is 72lbs and about 4ft tall. He is a little on the weaker side, but used 27/17 and did well with it. What size should he use and would you recommend this bat? matt
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a high performing bat that will be well suited for your son since it has a light swing weight. Based on his height and weight, we would recommend a 28'' bat. For more information on sizing please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Tori
My son currently uses the S3 alloy bat. I believe he benefits from a fast bat. Is the MAKO the fastest swinging bat of all the Series Easton makes ie. S1,S2,S3? Just wondering if it was put into other series, which would it fall into? The Duke
All of the speed series and the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) are all very balanced bats. The Easton MAKO will swing most like the Easton S1 since it it also a two-piece composite bat.
Kara
My son just turned 12 and is 5' 7", 135 lbs. Could he swing a 30" 20 oz? I think he can, but want to be sure. BIG Mo
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League. A 30" 20 oz might be too small for him.
Jason
My son is 10 and has been swinging that size for a year. He is a big 10 but has had no issues.
Sgholli
My son is ten and weighs about 95-98 lbs. He is 60 inches tall. Any thoughts on bat size? PaddyIII
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
My son is going to be turning 8. I am torn between this Easton bat, the 2014 COMBAT Portent: PORSL112 Senior League and the Marucci Elite: MSBE14 Senior League. What would you recommend? All reviews are pretty good. dom
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) would be a great choice. It will not only be very balanced and light weight in design but the extended barrel length is a great feature also. The Portent and Elite would be really great selections. They are both balanced and have a light weight feel. The Portent will feel the stiffest of the three, which is typically loved by power hitter's.
Brandon
My 7 year old son is swinging a 27/17 Easton XL3. He is doing great with it. Would he benefit more from the 27/17 MAKO even though the XL3 is end loaded? The Gabe
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is going to be very balanced and have a light swing weight. It will have a slightly shorter barrel than the XL3. If your son is having success with the XL3 going to the MAKO could cause him to lose some of his power since the MAKO is not end loaded.
Tori
My son is 5'2" and weighs 95 lbs. What size do you recommend? liz
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
My son is 5'5" and 137 pounds. What size do you recommend? Dad
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
Does this bat need to be rotated after it's broken in? Tanner
Rotating the barrel of the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League bat will help extend the lifespan of the bat by dispersing the number of hits taken around the full barrel head. While not required, it would help improve the lifespan.
Patrick
My sons 8 years old 5 foot and 110 lbs. What size bat would you recommend? carter
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Kara
With so many new bats being at the $200.00 price range, what are you getting with the MAKO that you don't with these bats? Is the player going to drive the ball 20' further with a similarly struck swing? Will you hit more balls hard even when slightly off the barrel? What are you getting which would make you want to spend more? Murphy
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) will provide an upgraded composite material compared to lesser priced bats. It will provide an upgraded durability and swing weight. The MAKO is very balanced and has a light swing feel. The MAKO will also have a longer barrel length compared to other two-piece composite designs.
Brandon
How is the Easton MAKO legal in 50/70 but the S1 is not? Lefty Luke
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League is not legal for play in Little League Intermediate (50/70). All composite barrel bats are required to have the BBCOR .50 certification stamp to be legal in Intermediate (50/70).
Jason
I'm looking to get my son the MAKO 2 5/8. I'm torn between the 30 and 31. He is about 5ft 108lb. Athletic build. Any help would be appreciated. kmartt
I would suggest you get your son the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) in a 30 inch bat. I believe that would create the best bat speed for your son.
Jackson
Need a bat for grandson 11 yrs old 106lbs 5ft. I want a bat that he will use as he advances in age group as they are expensive. I was suggested to gett mako:SL14MKB 31in 21oz or 2014 Easton XL!:YB14X1youth. What do you suggest? Mama
If he is a contact hitter, we recommend a balanced, two-piece composite bat such as the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB). If he is a power hitter, we recommend a slightly end loaded bat such as the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Kara
I am 5'7" and 125 lb. What size bat should I use? Is this bat more balanced than the DeMarini Voodoo Paradox? BT
The Easton Mako will probably have more of a balanced swing that the Voodoo Paradox. Both bats are balanced in weight, but the Mako has one of the lightest swing weights of any bat on the market currently.
Kyle J.
I am 12 years old and 5'7", 125 pounds. What size bat should I use? B
Based off of your approximate height and weight, the suggested length we would recommend would be 32 inches.
Merritt
Do you have to break this bat in? B
Yes, the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) bat will require a short period of break-in. Just make sure to rotate the barrel so you are getting a full break-in.
Brandon
I will be 8 in July. I'm 4'4" 85 lbs. I want a MAKO, but not sure what size I need. Jackson
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 29" 19 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Kara
My son is 4'11" and around 70lbs. What size would you recommend? Baseball_dad
We would recommend he use a 30" bat in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Aaron
My son is 7 years old. He is 4' tall and is between 45 to 55 lbs. He is currently using the DeMarini Vexxum 26" 15.5 oz bat. Is the MAKO better? If so should I go with the 27" 17 oz? Jeremiah
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League is one the best bats on the market for kid pitch. Based on his height and weight, we recommend the 27" 17 oz model. The DeMarini Vexxum Junior Big Barrel is best suited for players in Coach Pitch.
Jason
My son is 4'2" and 65lbs. Whis size should I get him? He swing the 27-17 2013 Easton XL3 very well right now. But you know how kids are - friend gets a new bat and is dying for a new one. We just started playing kid pitch tournaments. I am leaning towards the 28-18 so he can use this bat for a while, but wanted to see what your recommendation is. Thanks. Parent/Coach
Based on your son's height and weight, it seems like the 28 inch 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League bat would be a good step for him and that size should fit him well.
Patrick
Is this bat legal for 13-15 Babe Ruth? (BBCOR .50) pj
This 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League bat is not approved for any division of Babe Ruth baseball because it has a 2 3/4" barrel diameter. In order to use any bat with a composite barrel in Babe Ruth, the barrel cannot exceed 2 5/8" and it must be a BBCOR certified model. But BBCOR models only feature -3 length to weight ratios which is quite a bit heavier than the -10 length to weight ratio this bat offers.
Mac
Is this the best bat to buy? mike
The 2014 Easton MAKO: (SL14MKB) senior league is going to be extremely high quality and high performing. If you are looking for a bat that is going to be very balanced, and have an excellent sweet spot, the 2014 Easton MAKO will definitely be a great option to check out.
Merritt
My son is a 5' 125 lb 10 year old. What size do you recommend? He has the 31" 20 oz MAKO currently, but we are looking for big barrel. jim
Based on his height and weight, we suggest 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
Which barrel size is best for a 60/90 field, the 2 3/4 or the 2 5/8? REABBA
The barrel size that should be used is based more on any type of restriction that the specific league may have on barrel size. If they allow the 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter, either one would be appropriate.
Patrick
My son is 4 foot 6 and weighs 60 pounds. Is a 30 inch 20 ounce bat OK to use? CF3fan
The 30 inch size of the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) would be a bit long but would still be within the range that would be acceptable for a player of his size.
Patrick
Is it legal for Babe Ruth? CANO22
If the league allows you to swing a fully composite bat with a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) would be fine.
Brandon
I am 5'4" 150 lbs. Which size is recommended? aron
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
My son is 9 and is 5'9". He is currently using the easton 2013 S1. What size would you recommend? ryan
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is based on their height and weight. Typically, a 9 year old is swinging a 29" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
I am 5'4" and swing a 2013 Easton S1 30/20. What size in the MAKO would you recommend? ryan
The best way to determine the correct bat size for a player is based on their height and weight. Based on your height, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason
Is this bat legal for USSSA league and other leagues also is the -10 MAKO weight in the handle or balanced? Jc
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) does have the USSSA stamp. The Easton MAKO (SL1MKB) is going to be a balanced swing weight so the weight of the bat will be evenly distributed.
Zach
What is better: the Easton S1 or the Easton MAKO? ryguy
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) and Easton S1 have the same performance certification, so they will not outperform each other in testing. However, the MAKO is more forgiving with the extended sweet spot, but both models have balanced swing weight for better bat speed and control.
Zach
What is the difference in the 2014 Easton Mako and the 2014 Combat Portent XL, besides the price? randenise
The 2014 Easton Mako is going to be a two piece design and the 2014 Combat Portent XL is a one piece design. The Mako is also going to be a little more balanced compared to the Portent.
Cooper G.
Will I be able to use the Easton MAKO in Little League? dbyrd
The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK Youth) bat would be the model that is legal for use in Little League. The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) will not be legal due to its larger barrel diameter.
Brandon
Is there a difference between this MAKO and the Youth MAKO? Tina
The (YB14MK) would feature the smaller 2 1/4" barrel diameter and is an ounce lighter than this (SL14MKB); in the same length. This 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League bat provides a more forgiving hitting surface as it has the largest barrel diameter available (2 3/4"). Many leagues do not permit the use of a 2 3/4" barrel diameter, so I'm not certain what your particular league requires.
Mac
I am 5'2" and 125 lbs. What size MAKO should I get? Silver Slugger
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 31" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
I am 5 foot 2 and weigh 125 pounds. What size MAKO should I get? Silver Slugger
Based on your height and weight, we would suggest the 32 inch model of the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB).
Patrick
What are the advantages or disadvantages of using a Mako 2 3/4 vs. 2 5/8 inch barrel? Does the fatter barrel help? Dave
The use of the larger barrel 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) over the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MK9) would just allow for more room for error. If you use the larger barrel you can miss a bit more and still may be able to salvage a hit. The trade off is that the 2 3/4 is less allowed in some leagues. Many leagues will have barrel size restrictions that will not allow the use of a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter bat.
Patrick
Do the -10 bigger barrel Mako bats have a longer barrel than the -9 Mako, or are they the same length? 3636
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) and the smaller barrel 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MK9) would have the same length of barrel if they are the same length on the bat. The main difference is the length to weight ratio and the barrel diameter.
Patrick
Do you think this would be a good transition bat to BBCOR from an Easton XL3 -5? Aaron
Since the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) has a -10 length to weight ratio, I would say that the -5 XL3 would be a better bat to transition to a -3 BBCOR bat with.
Marcus
I am 5' and about 85 pounds. What size would be good for me? 1357
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend the 30" model of this 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League bat. For future sizing recommendations, feel free to check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
Would I be able to use the Easton MAKO BBCOR in USSSA? Johnny Baseball
Yes, the Easton MAKO BBCOR should be allowed in USSSA leagues, due to it having slightly less performance than the 2014 Easton MAKO: SL14MKB Senior League. I would still ask a coach or league official to make certain.
Brandon
I am a 5'3" 119lbs and a power hitter. What size MAKO would you recommend? bombhitter82

Does the 2 5/8 have a bigger sweet spot than the 2 3/4 Tigersfan
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) will have the same size sweet spot as a 2 5/8" barrel bat, the 2 3/4" barrel will have a larger surface area to hit off of.
Sean
I'm 5'6" 120 lbs. What size do you recommend? clutch
The recommended size for you in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB Senior League) would be a 28" 18 oz. or a 29" 19 oz.
Brandon
I am 5'1" and 95 lbs. I am trying to find a bat that will last me a few baseball seasons. What size would you recommend for length and weight? baseball guy
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB). It is tough to say how long any bat will last, however, with proper bat care, the MAKO should last a few seasons. It is also covered under a 12 month manufacturer warranty through Easton as well.
Tessa
My son is 5 feet tall and weighs 80 pounds. He is a contact hitter. Is this a good bat for him? If so, what size? If not, what bat do you recommend. pro swing
The 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) is a great bat for contact hitters. The MAKO is very well balanced and has a bit of flex which can increase bat speed. Based on his height and weight, we would recommend the 30 inch size.
Patrick

Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MKB) Senior League.
Jason
I'm a contact hitter. Should I get the MAKO or CF6? Omills
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) and the DeMarini CF6 will feature a two-piece fully composite design. They will be very balanced and produce quick bat speed through the zone. The main difference is that the MAKO features an extended barrel design. The CF6 has the D-Fusion handle technology, which will help to dampen vibration and sting as well as extends the sweet spot through the barrel. Both are great bats for contact hitting, it will truly depend on your preferences.

When will they have a Torq MAKO baseball bat 31/21 with a 2 3/4" barrel. dylan
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) will be offered in that size. We are unsure as to any information on the MAKO Torq at this time.

My son is 8 and currently swings a 28" 15oz Demarini VooDoo Overlord for little league play. He is about to try out for some USSSA travel teams and I was wanting to get him a big barrel bat. I was looking at this but I'm not sure what size to get him since the VooDoo is end loaded and this bat is balanced. I was thinking of the 27" 17oz, but would that be too light? He swings the VooDoo well but is more of a contact hitter. Dain Train
What is his height and weight?
Damon
Is the Senior OK for Babe Ruth play? julian hernandez
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is USSSA certified. It has a composite barrel. Just make sure you can use composite bats in your league and you should be fine!
Brandon
My son plays 12u travel baseball and he likes this bat. He is 5'0" and 90 pounds. What length and weight should he get? CC
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB).
Tessa
My son is having trouble with hitting. Will this bat help him hit better? HR
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is one of our most popular high performing bats. While no bat will instantly make a player a better hitter, the light, balanced swing weight and the enhanced sting and vibration protection featured in the MAKO can help a player develope better confidence at the plate which can lead to better hitting overall.
Patrick
Which bat will feel lighter the Mako or CF6? Mily
Both the 2014 DeMarini CF6 Senior League Baseball Bat (DXCFX) and the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) will be very well balanced so they will have roughly the same swing weight feel.
Patrick
Why does the MAKO not come in a -5 or -8 size? BB
Ultimately, the sizes that are created in the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat: (SL14MKB) are determined by the manufacturer, Easton. Generally, supply and demand have a lot to do with the sizes that are created. If you would like to ask Easton, you would be able to contact them directly at 888-259-1297.

Is the 32 inch -10 Full Composite? jordancd13
Yes, the 32" 22 oz. 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is a two piece full composite design.
Sean
Is this bat legal for 13U BPA travel baseball? Will
Given the variations in rules from league to league, it is tough to say whether or not the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) would be legal for play in your league. It has a composite barrel which some leagues restrict and it has the bigger barrel diameter of 2 3/4 inches which is also more restricted.
Patrick
Is this bat allowed in Little League in NJ? joe
Unfortunately, no. The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is not approved for any division of Little League baseball. No bats with 2 3/4" barrels may be used in Little League. And if you are in the 50/70 Division of Little League, where 2 5/8" barrel are permitted, a bat cannot have a composite barrel unless it is BBCOR certified: http://www.littleleague.org/learn/equipment/baseballbatinfo/batrules.htm.
Mac
Is this bat approved for 12 year olds? dom
Unfortunately, whether a bat is legal or not is also dependent on the particular league they are in as well as their age. This 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is not approved in any division of Little League, Dixie, Pony, or Babe Ruth baseball because of the 2 3/4" barrel diameter. If the player is in a USSSA sanctioned league, you shouldn't have an issue. But concerning bat legality, it's best to check with a coach or league director.
Mac
My 8 year old son is 4'6'' and weighs 71.5 lbs. Currently swings a 29" 17 oz., but used a teammates big barrel 28" 18 oz. and crushed it towards the end of the summer season. What size bat in the MAKO would you recommend? Jeremy
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 29" 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). A longer bat will give you more reach across the plate, however, sizing is preferential. So if he would feel more comfortable with a 28", that is definitely something to take into consideration.
Tessa
My son is 9 years old. He is 4'6" and weighs around 90 lbs. He swings a 29/19 XL1 very well and I'm looking to purchase a MAKO big barrel. I cannot decide what size is best for him. My thought would be to buy the 29" because it is the same length and weight as he is used to. What is your recommendation? Ryan
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). Moving up an extra inch and an extra ounce will be an easy transition from the Youth XL1.
Jason
My son is 10 years old. He is 4'6" and weighs 105 lbs. What size of bat would be recommended for his stature? BO
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB).
Jason
My son is 54" tall and weighs 75 lbs. What size 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League bat would you recommend? Is this an end loaded or more evenly distributed bat? Woods
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 29" model in the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). The MAKO has a balanced swing weight.
Jason
My son is 11 1/2 years old, is approximately 4'8", and weighs 66 pounds. Which size would work best for him? CL
Based on the approximate height and weight of the player, I would suggest a 29" in the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat: (SL14MKB).
Merritt
I'm 11, 90 lbs. and wondering what I should get? I play 11U travel ball. Conrad
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) would be an exceptional choice for travel ball use. The big barrel and composite design will be very high performing. A 30"-31" should be the best recommended sizing for you.
Brandon
I am a travel ball player, 12u, 11 years old. I am 60" and weigh 83 pounds. What size bat would you suggest? m_baseball24
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Tessa
I am 12 years old. I am 5'0" and 90 lbs. What should I get? max
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) would be a great choice. The size may be slightly light for your age. I may start thinking of -8 or -5 bats at your age to get you ready for the high school -3 BBCOR bats. The -8, 2015 Easton MAKO TORQ Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK8T) would be an ideal option at age 12.
Brandon
My son is 8 years old. He weighs 52 pounds and is 4 feet tall. What size bat does he need? He has good bat speed. bandit
Based on your sons height and weight, we would suggest a 27 inch size of the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB).
Patrick
My son is 7 years old and about 53 pounds. He has an Easton S300 27 inch 15 ounce. Would this be a good bat for him? We are looking at the 27 inch 17 ounce. Is this the correct size I should get or do you think adding the extra 2 ounces would be too heavy compared to what he is used to? Also, is this approved for Little League play? Nick
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is not approved for play in the Little League organization because it features a 2 3/4 inch barrel diameter and it is big barrel bat that has a composite barrel and is not BBCOR certified. As far as sizing, two ounces is a jump but one that can be handled with hard work to get adjusted. The player will need to work with the bat to get used to the added weight. I cannot speculate if that size would work based on age and weight alone. Height and weight would be the more appropriate factors to consider when sizing the player.
Patrick
My son is 11 and has the small barrel and the -10 big barrel MAKO. His small barrel bat seems to have much more pop than the big barrel. I was hoping that it was a break-in problem. We have been using it for quite a while now and the ball still does not jump off the bat as good as the other. Disappointed
The break-in period is typically only 200-300 swings off of a batting tee or soft toss on the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB). If you think the bat may be defective you can call Easton at 1-888-259-1297. They can walk you through the replacement process.
Brandon
I was considering this bat or one of the Easton S series bats. What would you suggest for 8U machine pitch? Baseball parent
The 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) and the S Series bats are all great bats to consider. All three S Series bats and the MAKO have balanced swing weights. Any of these bats would work for your player, but the MAKO is considered Easton's top of the line bat.
Chinyere
I need a recommendation on bat size. My 12 year old son wants the Mako. He is currently using a bat that is 30 inches and 17 ounces. rabbit
The size of the 2014 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) that your son should use would be based on his height and weight. In order to properly size the bat for plate coverage and swing weight it would be best to know his height and weight as well as the bat length and weight he had been using.
Patrick
Could my son use this in USSSA 7u coach pitch? tigersox
The Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp so it would be legal in your league.
Jake

Ben
Is the Senior League bat for adults or is it for kids? My son is 10 and wants a 2 3/4 barrel and this bat is almost $80 cheaper than the 2015 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat which is $349. Tim
Senior League models like the Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) are intended for use by youth players. Senior League is an interchangeable term with Youth Big Barrel. 2014 models like this one tend to run lower than the current model year bats due to restrictions on pricing imposed by the manufacturer.
Patrick
My son is 9 years old, 53 inches tall and weighs 63 pounds. What size bat would you recommend for him? emerke
For a player of his size, we would recommend the Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) in a 29" model. Unfortunately, it looks like we currently do not have that size in stock for the 2014 MAKO. We do have that size in stock for the 2015 MAKO. Additionally, you might want to double-check and see if he can use a youth big barrel bat or if he has to use a 2 1/4" barrel.
Joe
What would be the best method of cleaning this bat? Mako Dad
We suggest using only mild soap and water to clean the Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB), they won't harm the surface coating or graphics. Do not use solvents, acetone or other heavy-duty cleaners, as they will damage the surface.
Frankie
What size Easton MAKO do I need for Junior League Baseball? Jacob Baseball
This Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MKB) is not going to be eligible for play in Junior League Baseball because it is a 2 3/4 inch. For Junior League Baseball you will need a 2 5/8 inch barrel. I would look at Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14MK9) or the 2015 Easton MAKO Senior League Baseball Bat (SL15MK9)
Frankie
