If you have a serious player, this is the bat James parent
Pros: 2 3/4 barrel!!! Light, very well balanced, a huge sweet spot, and sounds great when it makes contact. I have a 9 year old who plays on a 10U travel ball team. this is the go to bat. He's swung the XL1, S1, and Mako 2 1/4 and recently the S1 big barrel. He says this is the best one yet and the results prove it.
Cons: The cost!
Get this bat today!!!!!! Bigbat23 player
Pros: Best bat I have ever used and I have swung the: S1, S3, XL1, and the CF5. So much pop! No sting, already hit 2 over with it.
Cons: Wish it came in full orange.
Legit!!! coach Louis other
Pros: If your kid hits bombs they will go farther much faster.
Cons: Color, wanted full orange, same as little league and College World Series.
Wow! Coach coach
Pros: This bat is all what they claim it to be. Amazing. My sons 13U team all used it last weekend and it's awesome. This is the best EASTON the kids have every used and we've had them all.
Cons: Supply.....they sell out quick :)

Cons: Justbats.com does not have the full orange one! The cost!
AMAZING! Jordijor player
Pros: I have swung many other bats such as th XL1, S1, And, CF5 but this is the best one so far!
Cons: Nothing
lets us know what you think carter player
Pros: Abilities to hit a home run or a laser especially with a big sweet spot on the new Mako
Cons: Cost
The real mako jason player
Pros: Giant sweet spot! Cool design i like the bright colors and matt finish!
Cons: Grip is already falling appart! Takes forever to break in. Everyone seems to be poping up with this bat no one was hitting the ball hard on the ground. Way to expensive for how long it takes for the bat to get to its full potential! Blisters easily
This Bat is the Real Deal Rich Schnippel parent
Pros: Great pop...feels great in the hands, the 2-3/4" is barrrel is almost impossible to miss! This bat instills plenty of confidence. Not that it's important, but the graphics are really nice. We haven't felt any vibration in the handle...not sting...that's very amazing even with a miss hit. Overall, very happy with the bat, looking forward to a great season with it. Easton is definitely at the forefront of bat technology that works...not just fancy words to make you think you're getting something special. Had to put five stars for durability...only on the assumption that it will last...have not had it long enough to determine that.
Cons: Price...but as they say, you get what you pay for...this bat is delivering some serious performance so far. Although the graphics are pretty cool the white will be showing the wear and tear more quickly. We found that a Magic Eraser cleans it very well.
mako youth bat allen parent
Pros: 9 year old loves it. seems to have a lot of pop. large sweet spot.
Cons: none yet other than price
nate rocks so does does the mako Bob player
Pros: this bat has alot of pop andlieght
Cons: hhxdijv
About the same as the Rival Eric M parent
Pros: My son has been using a Rival for several years and and has simply outgrown it. Was looking for a replacement bat and chose this bat. Does what it's supposed to do.
Cons: Nothing negative yet
Cracked Bat After One Week Justin parent
Pros: Bat has a very balanced feel, looks great
Cons: The bat is cracked in two places after a 5 game tournament. I know Easton will replace it but when you spend $350 on a bat for an 11 yr old, it's disheartening when you have to return it.
Worth it. Baseball parents parent
Pros: I thought it was too pricy for my 7 years but I changed mind after I saw how my son hitting differently. His 8U team players has this one or XL1. My son is so happy with it and he loves it more everyday. It has a giant sweet spot but very balanced. My son is 4 feet and 58 pounds. We got a 27/17oz and it's seems little heavier than we thought but he said it doesn't feel like heavy when he swing it. He said it feel lighter than Easton youth S2 28/15oz with 2 1/4 barrel.
Cons: The grip gets dirty quickly but we using 5 days a week so I guess it's reasonable.
easton mako _-Hunter Buck Oakley-_ player
Pros: great pop!!
Cons: everybody on my team wants to use it.
south carolina mako Mac James player
Pros: This bat has a great jump, balance feel, hot out the rapper, and not as important sick look. I am 11 and I've used the xl1 2 1/4 baseball bat but I like the mako big barrel the best. But I bought the mako with my money off of ebay for 270.00.
Cons: I have no cons but I just got it two days ago.
Easton Mako Joe Brad player
Pros: Great Bat!!! Tons of pop. Sweet big barrel. Switched from S3 to this and tons of differences in my average and distance of initial contact.
Cons: None
Sweet bat Casey Melton parent
Pros: This bat is everything it is talked up to be. My son has had it for about 3 months and is hitting the ball harder then he ever has. batting practice has become a hospital visit for the balls. You need to buy a box of bandaids to put on the balls after hitting sessions. Easton has always led the industry in baseball bats and they hit the nail on the head with this one. Love this bat and so does the rest of my boys travel team. This bat is a must for the serious ball players!
Cons: The cost and it gets dirty very easy.
Amazing Predators 11u Brodie player
Pros: Has no vibrations and has great pop and I hit it more square to the fence. I'm 11 also
Cons: None
The best bat ever Indiana bulldogs player
Pros: This bat is amazing. it has great pop!!!!! U will love it. if u are stuck between the s series and the Xl series get this bat. it has a long barrel length and it has a 2 3/4 diameter and it is a -10 and it is very light
Cons: The only con about it is the price of it
Never Again JChill parent
Pros: Very balanced bat with good pop out of the wrapper.
Cons: My son plays 11U baseball. I bought him the Mako 30/20 for Christmas. He used the bat for a week and the bat cracked in two places. We live in sunny CA, so weather was not an issue. He never used the bat in the cage, only live pitching with Diamond baseballs. I sent the bat back to Easton for a replacement and was initially told the bat was on back order until February. I waited patiently and called back in February and was told the replacement would not be available until late June. Customer service was apologetic as you would expect but informed me that my only viable option was to wait until they had a restock on replacement bats. For $349 + tax, I expected a better product. I am now looking at the Louisville Assault as a replacement for my son.
MAKO is the real deal Tony coach
Pros: Seemed like a lot of money for this bat but one trip to the batting cages and POP! You can see and hear the difference in this bat versus others. The design is awesome, great balance and performance!
Cons: Pricey but worth it.
good bat baseball die hard fan parent
Pros: My son 11 years old got this bat 2 weeks ago. He loves it. He is using in the cage every day to hit the ball. You can see how the ball fly out from the bat and 2 of his friend got same bat after they tested my son bat.
Cons: none
Make sure you duck behind your L-Frame!!!! Mr. Excitement coach
Pros: This bat is unreal. The sweet spot is absolutely huge on this bat. I bought a DM CF6, a Louisville Attack and this bat for my son this year. The CF6 hasn't left the wrapper and will be returned now that we've had some serious swing time with the Mako. The light swing weight, the giant barrel and the huge sweet spot (did I mention it has a huge sweet spot?) have made for some scary times in the cages this winter. I tell all our boys that the BP coaches should be afraid when we are pitching in the cages, and the kids that are swinging the Mako are definitely our scariest hitters.
Cons: Durability remains to be seen. With the price of the Mako, my son will be swining the Attack on days where the temperature is marginal. Not that that's a bad thing as we are very impressed with the Attack as well.
The Real Deal shark coach
Pros: This is the best bat easton has introduced in a while. Super light and perfect balance. Great pop and sounds like a metal bat.
Cons: a little costly
hott tanner player
Pros: this bat is hot! it just keeps getting better ! it sounds and feels amazing.
Cons: it stings a little and it chips a lot ..
amazing Adam McClamroch player
Pros: I have a 2013 s1 it is a good but this bat is much better.this bat has so much pop and definetly worth money.Best bat I have ever had
Cons: pricy but worth it.gets dirty really quick.worth it all
Pricy BUT a Great Bat An Easton Convert parent
Pros: My son is in U-11, Tall and Skinny (5'4"), and weighs about 100 lbs. His problem has never been his swing, but instead his hands hurting from vibration when he hit it. Over time he'd quit swinging hard because he didn't want to hurt his hands. This bat has amazingly little vibration. Because his hands don't hurt, he swings harder and better, and the ball just flies. I was reluctant to spend this much on a bat, but this puppy is worth it.
Cons: Gets dirty, but so what
awesome bat!!! joshua player
Pros: This bat feels like it swings itself. I'm 14 years old 5' 10" and before I used bb core and it just didn't have enough pop (.5 bpf due to restrictions) and after I gave the mako a couple of swings at academy I had to have it.
Cons: It is a little high in price but the saying, you get what you pay for, defineatly applies here.
Awsome Bat !!!! Castle coach
Pros: Very good balance and pop right out of the wrapper. The confidence level of my 13 yr. old in his batting has changed completely. He has never driven balls this hard consistently before. This was a very good investment for his hitting game.
Cons: None yet.... to see your player's confidence level in himself do a complete 180, priceless.
Hoping for more BZ parent
Pros: Huge barrel, Very well balanced, light swing. Off centered hit seem to travel better. No sting
Cons: Me & the son arent as impressed with it so far. So not seeing the hype. Has about 100 hits on it. Just seems like solid hits arent nothing more than a hard ground ball, isnt getting any distance with it so we're hoping maybe just needs more break in time..right now nothing more than a practice bat as he'll continue to use his S3 in game unless we see something different.
very saf tanner player
Pros: has ton of pop
Cons: im 5'0 93 lbs and im thirteen and i cracked it it broke right on the barrel during bp..
Don't believe the hype--very overrated Unintentional Bat Collector coach
Pros: Looks cool. Was definitely the in bat to try. Unfortunately, all but 1 of the 5 players on my team that bought this bat have given up on it even after extensive break in.
Cons: Bat is not as balanced as it claims--others are more so. Barrel is long, but sweet spot isn't. Balls just a touch toward the handle or end just die. Have a team full of parents irritated at paying for a $350 bat their kid won't use. Way more success with Vertex, S2 and S3.
Bat Daniel player
Pros: Awesome bat
Cons: None
MAKO ss player
Pros: It's literally unfair to use this thing. The barrel is 2 3/4 making it easy to really get a hold of the ball and the pop is insane.
Cons: nothing at all
No pop TheGloveGuy player
Pros: Picked it up and it had the most amazing weight and feel but then...
Cons: I started hitting of live pitching and I would hit a rocket back up the middle but it would just deaden and end up being a soft lineout, my -5 Vexxum that I had the same hits with were easily singles.
Good bat but the S1 series bat just as good Bama85 parent
Pros: This is a quality bat and once it is "broken in" will provide excellent results
Cons: Bat doesn't seem to be balanced and more end loaded ... My son used the S1 prior to this bat and was hitting really well with that bat, but the cap came loose which prompted me to buy the MAKO. My son is a line drive hitter but started getting under the ball more after using this bat. Upon weighing the bat (30 - 20 model) I found that the bat is closer to 22 ounces not 20 ounces. Switched to a 31 - 21 Worth Lithium Prodigy that I bought 2 years ago during a closout of the bat (Hitting really well with it). Not giving up on the bat but think my son needs to get a little stronger before picking it back up. If I had it to do over again I would buy the S1 series bat (Just as good a bat in my opinion)
This bat is fooling a lot of people Derek coach
Pros: made to last
Cons: This bat fails to hit a ball out of the infield. Had 2 players last year that hit 300 foot homeruns as 11 year olds and they have yet to hit a ball over the outfielders head this year. The bat is unbalanced to the point it is nearly impossible to hit square. If the ball is hit unsquare it will just dribble to the pitcher or pop up to the pitcher. I use it to hit my warm ups and I have to put everything I have in the swing to hit a fly ball to the outfield, where as I use other bats such as the TPX Catalyst and I can hit fly balls 1 handed. This bat is fooling a lot of people that it is a good bat. it itsn't and DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
Amazing Jack Preimesberger player
Pros: The bat is the latest deal in store. The pop is great personally I think it is better than the XL1. With the speed and maxium sweet spot combined, the bat is great.
Cons: The bat costs a lot of money but, it is so worth it.
Awesome Usssa head coach coach
Pros: Awesome
Cons: Awesome
Truly Amazing Nelson player
Pros: Great feel. Outstanding swing plane. Great overall bat.
Cons: Haven't found a con yet.
Awesome bat Tanner player
Pros: Unbelievable bat speed it feels 3 oz. lighter than it says, really nice, low pitched sound, and same pop as XL3. No vibration at all.
Cons: I'd prefer a stiffer feel like the XL1, this bat almost feels bendy at contact.
smokin hot jh parent
Pros: pop, pop and more pop
Cons: we have to play against them also!!!
gotta get one go team parent
Pros: great feel and super pop
Cons: dirty handle?? who cares we winning games
AMAZING Awesome dude player
Pros: EVRY THING big sweet spot good hand speed.
Cons: nothing.
Pop! Nakona glove fan player
Pros: Lots of pop out of the rapper mine is just starting to break in and already 7 doubles 2 triples and 1 home run
Cons: Not much but bat weight was 2 ounces heavier than it said.
Easton Mako John player
Pros: The bat is unbelievably light for a 2 3/4 barrel! The bat has more pop than then the XL1 and S1. I would recommend this bat to anyone looking to spend money to get a quality bat!
Cons: Very expensive, but worth it!!!
pricey ss player
Pros: has a good amount of pop for awhile but it lost a lot after 4 months...... it's not as good as the xl1 but it's still better than the s1.... I recommend this for contact hitters but get the xl1 if you're looking for power
Cons: WAY to pricey for the overall performance.... the xl1 is honestly so much better
OVERATED !!!!!!!!!!! Concerned player player
Pros: Last long
Cons: no pop vibrates alot DON'T BUY THIS BAT GET A DEMARINI VODOO OR CF5
THE BEST YET THE BEST YET coach
Pros: it HAS A TON OF POP AMAZING AND THE BEST BAT RESULT I HAVE SEEN IN THE KIDS..... i LOVE IT
Cons: THE BEST BAT EVER
the best jon coach
Pros: wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cons: AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
there a new bat coming to town jimmy player
Pros: it fells light sweet pop it is awesome and cool
Cons: nothing bad only the grip gets a little dirty but that doesnt really matter
awesomeness dr smooth player
Pros: This bat is the way to go, it is a great bat with great feel. So far on the year I have 3 homeruns in 10u with this bat if you want a bat I would choose this one!
Cons: nothing
just not that good MidSouthElite coach
Pros: Looks great. Barrel is large. Durable
Cons: 7 kids on 12 major used this bat. just did not perform. In cages, solid hits nearly rip the net, but in game, any little deviation from the sweetspot (which is actually smaller than one would think) is a weak grounder or blooping fly ball. Very dissappointed. Entire team switched back to S1, XL1 or the -8 Rip It. Team average went up drastically. S1, XL1, Rip It or much better. XL1 best bat is youth baseball if you can get the mass to the ball out front.
Best Bat Blake player
Pros: I hit 12 home runs with this bat at cooperstown dreams park
Cons: None
solid Groger player
Pros: lots of pop, light, HUGE SWEET SPOT, looks cool.
Cons: the price is to much but the bat is great. i have an xl1 an s1 and this and the xl1 had more pop but this feels better to swing
Unbelievable pop! Joel Zumbolo coach
Pros: Do not have to swing hard for the ball to fly a mile.
Cons: I have to imagine this bat is going to be illegal somewhere in the near future. I have coached many of tournaments this year where the other team has had this bat. Time and time again the ball flies off this bat like no other bat I have ever seen. And the sound is eerily quiet. Very deceptive in nature. Just last tourney a 8u kid who couldn't of weighed more than 70lbs took a swing or I should say a half swing with no load or stride and dropped his hands to boot and knocked it 180ft. Jealous? Heck yeah I am jealous! But nonetheless there is no way this bat continues for another two years. Someone, somewhere is lying about its specs and/or material, because it does not feel like composite which is probably why it comes off the shelf hot.
Impressive bat, a bit much for a 8yr old (27/17) Chris parent
Pros: My son begged for this bat, bought it sight unseen. Picked up the 27/17. This is an impressive looking bat. My 8yr old's previous bat was a 26/16 TPX. The TPX feels more evenly balanced compared to this bat. The MAKO feels more end loaded. I personally hit balls to the outfielders and had to be careful not to swing too hard. Was sending rockets to the outfield. It has a wide sweet spot. Ball explodes off the bat when struck firmly. Has a ping that we love to hear when striking the ball.
Cons: The bat feels heavier than 17. My 8yr old's swing slowed down noticeably from his 16. Not in love with the white grip and expect the bat to look very dirty after a couple of months use (a lot of white on the barrel as well). The handle 'feels' small compared to the size of the barrel. This may be an optical illusion as the barrel's width increases quickly. But for a 27, the proportions look a bit comical. Only practiced with it a couple of weeks between summer travel ball and fall ball. But may have to shelve the bat for the fall and hope he swings it better in the spring.
Easton mako Domingo player
Pros: This is a very balanced bat with pretty good pop. It has a very big barrel but a smaller sweet spot. There is barely any vibrations on mishits. I just had a tournament and all I was hitting was hard line drives to the gaps
Cons: Scratches VERY easily after one tournament has a lot of cosmetic dinks and scratches
Mako Andy Quinn player
Pros: Big pop and quick bat speed
Cons: there are none in my perspective
Coach Correy A coach
Pros: Looks great, swings good, large sweet spot. If you have a child who is slow through the zone, and or who is having trouble squaring up the ball this would be a great bat to buy to improve there success.
Cons: I would like to see more pop, this bat has been reviewed several time as having tons of pop, and I have yet to see it. I have 3 of these and none pop as well as a few other bats I own.
Easton mako BR24 player
Pros: Can't miss the ball with the massive sweet spot. Balanced bat
Cons: Not much pop. Don't waste your money!!! Get the xl1 or xl3. I had the xl1 and hit the ball a lot farther.
crazy good robert chidress sr other
Pros: bought the bat three weeks ago twi days before a weekend tournment took my grandson out to hit killing the ball. game time batted 650. and it quickly became team bat. exceeed my excpectations and my grandsons his confidence level through the roof.
Cons: none
Funny Bat Pablo Signorini other
Pros: When I handle this bat, my hand feels tingles because the bat is so funky!!! The pop is terrible because I have never even hit a home run with it. Overall, it is a waste o money.
Cons: Great bat.
MAXIMUM POWER FROM MAX JeMarcus Jones other
Pros: Balanced, big barrel, everything
Cons: price x dents= trouble
Spencer player
Pros: The bat is very light weight and looks very sharp.
Cons: The bat has absolutely no pop even after a full season of the team hitting with the bat. If you want a solid bat that is good right out of the box by the Exogrid 3.

My son is 10 years old, 52" tall and weighs 103 lbs (solidly built). Based on the chart it would suggest a 30/20 for him. I want to get specific advice on whether you agree with the recommendation. He is what I like to call a power hitter in training: Good bat speed, hand/eye coordination & good mechanics.
