Description

The next generation of the Easton XL1 Power Brigade has arrived. Now in its third season, this groundbreaking line of bats is unlike anything else on the field today. The concept is simple: Help players hit for power. However, Easton realizes that different players achieve a powerful swing in different ways. That's why the Power Brigade is divided into two distinct series - the XL Series (XL1, XL2, and XL3) and the Speed Series (S1, S2, and S3). The XL Series is designed for bigger, stronger hitters who derive their power from a bat with more mass. Smaller length to weight ratios, and an extra-long barrel with a massive sweet spot and a slight end load characterize the XL Series. The Speed Series, on the other hand, helps players increase their swing speed in order to generate more power. These bats feature lighter length to weight ratios, a lower M.O.I., and a balanced feel. Further trying to equip players with their perfect bat, Easton offers all of its Power Brigade bats in a two-piece IMX Composite/SIC Black Carbon design (XL1, S1), a two-piece THT100 Scandium Alloy/SIC Black Composite hybrid design (XL2, S2), and a one-piece THT Scandium Alloy design (XL3, S3). Two of the highest performing materials ever used on a bat, Easton's patented IMX Composite optimizes the sweet spot for maximum performance, while their THT Scandium Alloy provides solid durability and allows for a larger alloy sweet spot than is seen anywhere else on the field. Throw in an array of additional world-class Easton technology, and you've got a line of bats that can't be topped. Easton: Engineered for Glory! The Easton XL1 is approved for play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC, and features the new USSSA 1.15 BPF Stamp. It is backed by Easton's Exclusive (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Yellow Coating is cracking FunkyMark coach

Pros: Feels good, looks good, hits good, has pop.

Cons: Our new 2014 XL1 is starting to crack. The yellow coating is cracking after 1 game and two practices...I like the 2012 XL1 better, did not have any funky coating... The 2012 XL1 had no dents or cracks, just lost it's "POP" and Easton placed it under the warranty with the 2014 XL1 bat, so we have been using it for two weeks now.

Huge sweet spot Gage player

Pros: I am 12 yr old, play travel allstar. I had not hit a home run yet so my Dad got me the Skils Hurricane 4 swing trainer. After 2 weeks of 100-200 cuts per day, I hit my 1st home run. Then I got the Easton XL1. My very 1st day using the XL1 was awesome, hit a grand slam. The bat has tons of pop compared to my old bat the Combat B4.

One of the Best!!! Vinnie coach

Pros: Awesome bat for my son!!! Purchased this bat in a 29" for him when facing 12-13 year olds (he is 10). He is a strong kid, and uses a 32" Mako normally but this bat is what he needed to keep up with the older kids.

AMAZING!!! MZ parent

Pros: This bat is all it's cracked up to be and then some! My son used the bat in his season opener and hit the ball out of the park with little effort. All last season he hit the top of the fence or dropped at the bottom.....struggling to get the ball out. First time in action with this bat....it went straight out. I asked if he felt sting or vibration and he said "not at all!" Looks great, sounds amazing, easy to handle, A+ performance.

Cons: Not sure about durability just yet. I have seen a nick already with little use. Only used once in game and some practice off the catapult at home. Bed stays in his room under his bed. price tag - high tag, but well worth the money in it's performance.

XL1 has pop The Hat player

Pros: I went from an easton S1 to XL1 and I have never felt a better feel and pop out of the 5 easton's I have been threw. The easton XL1 is a bat that if you make contact it is going to go far. It is also a bat that you half to be a little more on the strong side if its going to go far the mako is lighter and is easier to swing. Over all the XL1 has pop and goes further.

Better than mako Anonymous parent

Pros: My 8 yr old has the xl1 in a 29/19 and a mako in a 29/18. Not a big kid. 4'4" and 69 pounds. He consistently hits the ball further with the xl1. Has hit several 180ft. If your son has the bat speed to swing the xl1 it is superior to the mako. Has a great sound when hit solidly.

Best power bat out DJ 42 player

Pros: I had the 2012 xl1 and it was the best bat I've ever swung. It was flat out amazing. But this year i purchased the 32 22 and i absolutely love it. Easton needs to address durability Little League Dad parent

Pros: This bat pops. Both kids (9 and 11) had used the S-1 and S-2's for the past year and couldn't get it over the fence. Put an XL1 30/-10 in their hands and they started flying!

Cons: Easton needs to address the durability of this bat ASAP! We have gone thru 2 in 18 games.....not good! Bat has spider cracks at the meat of the barrel in each instance. Kudos to their customer service though....replaced without question. The only problem is it takes 10 days!

Pros: The XL1 is better than the mako you may think to get the Mako first because its lighter and "has more pop" but the XL1 is just different. The XL1 maybe heavier but to me it feels fitting in my hands and easier to handle. Overall the XL1 is better than the mako and has way more pop.

Easton XL1 Chase Hanselman player

Pros: Has a ton of pop... Some people say the Mako and XL1 aren't even comparable because the Mako is that much better but I think the XL1 is every bit as good as the Mako!!

Cons: Lots of people want to use it after they see how good it is.

Pros: this bat has a lot of pop don't use 300$ on a mako this bat has way more pop durability can not feel any sting what so ever this bat feels great in my hands i use 29 19 and i cant get over how great it feels i used to be afraid to swing cuz my hands would hurt not any more i have been cranking the ball so far also the bat has the biggest sweet spot i took my 30 20 mako and my 29 19 xl1 it still has way more barrel do not worry if they say the paint chips off easy thats only if your hitting stuff your not supposed to like rocks and other bats try to hit 100 baseballs before try to hit in a game just to break it in you hit bombs with this bat i hit a line drive over right fielders head he just looked down lol :)))))))))))))))))))))))) WARNING DO NOT USE IN THE COLD easier. to get dented in the cold when u hit with it but there aren't going to be a ton of freezing cold games

Cons: not not not not not not ANY! buy now buy now easton makes these great bats u got to buy it i hoped this reviewe helped you get. 100 per cent sure u want this bat not the mako :) ps the bat is great for bunting

Pros: Breaks in quick,I hit 6 homers in two practices 230ft plus each time some not even on solid contact, I got put to clean up right after that week and hit a 2 run dinger.

Cons: Paint, and grip. I suggest using lizard skin bat grip 1.1 thickness.

Get The Mako James parent

Pros: Had all the right hype in reviews. The price was good at Just Bats.

Cons: Couldn't wait to try this bat out for my 11 year old son who is a power hitter usually able to hit home runs at will in practice. He blew out his other Easton Omen bat, which was a super bat, and this was the replacement. I threw him about 55 hard balls, and not one went over the fence. In fact, he usually gets about five home runs per bucket in practice, and with his new XL1 never even hit the fence. The sound of the hits were dull, and the impact was not impressive. The balls had no velosity at all. Very disappojnted in this bat. Will sell on Craigs List and get the Mako or Voodoo.

AWESOME JD coach

Pros: Right out of the plastic the ball flies off this bat, hard grounders, line drives, home runs, doesn't matter. My son hit a shot down 3rd in All Stars and the 3rd baseman just moved out of the way and wanted nothing to do with it. Even when he miss hits, witch he does, the ball is still coming off the bat harder than any other bat he's has used (MAKO/CF6/COMBAT B4) The don't compare. Had the 2011 and the end cap came off after 2 seasons of LL and travel ball. Easton replaced with a 2014 3 months past warranty expiration. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Pros: Great looking , semi durable.

Cons: Extreme end loaded, not seeing the pop from the bat even though we have gone through the breaking in process as prescribed. Getting stinging vibration on end hit balls. I am comparing this bat to a 31/21 Combat Pure Gear that we used for spring baseball. Hands down the Combat is better.... so far. I am really hoping that this bat will break in soon.

Pros: My son loves this bat. Lots of pop and no vibration. Big sweet spot. This bat has boosted his confidence and we would definitely recommend it. The bat is a little heavier then he's used to he went from a 29-17 to the 30-20 XL1 but he's getting it around and the results are noticeable. Pros: This bat is not just your dream bat. It is everyone's! I have been trying to hit a home run over the super far fence for 2 1/2 years! I used to swing a mako and it worked out pretty well. Though the only problem was that I could only hit doubles and singles. Halfway through the year I bought this bat and the next game I hit 2 triples a HOME RUN it was a miracle. Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: YB14X1? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

What is the difference between the Easton XL1 2014 compared to the Easton XL1 2013? D-Twice
The 2013 and the ***PREBOOK*** 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth are both going to use the same IMX Composite Barrel and SIC Black Carbon Composite Handle.
Noah
Many hitters say the gray 2012 XL1 had more pop than the others. Is this true? Explanation? Expert
The 2012 and the 2013 Easton XL1 both use the same IMX composite in the barrel. The performance between the two should be the same since they did not change composite fibers.
John
Is the 2014 XL coming out with a XL2 and a XL3? A half and half and an all aluminum bat? jonny
Easton will have the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth, and a 2014 Easton XL3. They will not be producing an Easton XL2 model.
Kara
How much longer is the barrel to the 2014 Easton Mako bat? outta here
The 2014 Easton Mako will have the same length barrel as the 2014 Easton XL1 however it will be balanced as opposed to end loaded.
Damon
Will this bat be coming out in BBCOR anytime soon? cobrabaseball
The 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR model will be releasing on 8/30/2013.
Brandon
Should I get the 2013 XL1 or 2014 XL1? hunterr
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat will feature the same design as the 2013 model. The color scheme will be slightly different though. Both bats will have the same swing weight also.
Brandon
Will this bat be "hot out of the wrapper" and or have a longer barrel/bigger sweet spot than the 2013 model? duke
The 2014 Easton will be very similar to the 2013 in size and performance.
Justin R.
My son will be 10, about 5'2" & 110lb. of muscle next year. He plays LL & travel ball. Will this come in 31"? WillMom
Yes, Easton will produce the 2014 XL1 in a 31" 21 oz. We currently do not have it in stock as of 8/19/2013. Once we have them available the size will be listed on the site.
John
My son is 9 years old and he is 4'10" and 96 pounds. Which bat will be a better bat for him, the 2014 XL1 or the 2014 MAKO? Also what will be the perfect size for him, the 30" 20 oz? Mayra
If he is a power hitter the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth would be the better choice. If he is a contact hitter the 2014 Easton MAKO: YB14MK Youth would be the best option. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz. bat.
Kara
Is the new 2014 Easton XL1 composite? dumplin123
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat will be a two-piece fully composite design.
Brandon
When will they come out with the 2014 XL1 in a -5 weight? kungfumaster
The full Power Brigade line will be available on September 1st.
John
Does the Easton XL1 Power Brigade provide the most end-loaded power potential for youth bats? My son is 7 and is tall and lanky. He has a 2011 Marucci Black 28"17 oz. (2 1/4")and he hits line drives. But I would like him to have some pitches bounce off his bat and hit the alleys. What other bats would produce more power? Thank you! Will from HNL
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is an excellent choice to generate power. The composite material and end loaded design will produce great pop.
Kara
Will this be available in a youth -8 or just -10? Tbeast12
The 2014 Easton XL1 youth will only be available in a -10 drop.
John
My son is 5 foot about 100 lbs, 11 yrs old. What length do you recommend? esteban
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
I am 11 years old and play in Little League. I bat third in the batting order. I hit a lot of line drives in the gap and to the fence. Will this bat give me the extra 10 feet to put it over the fence or should I go with the MAKO? zdawg
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is a two-piece composite model with an end load and extended barrel. We recommend an end loaded model for power hitters. If you're more of a gap hitter, I recommend the MAKO, as you still get that extended barrel, but it's also a very balanced bat.
Katie
When will they be in stock to ship? Mike
They are currently in stock and available for pre-book. They will ship on 8-30-2013 with free 2nd day air.
Damon
I am 5', 11 years old and 96 pounds. Do you recommend an Easton XL1 or the Easton MAKO? What size bat? Double D
A 32" model would be a good size for you. The Easton XL1 will be more end loaded for a power hitter and the MAKO will have an extended barrel like the XL1 but will be more balanced.
Damon
My son is 7 yrs old. He's 4 ft tall and weights 53 lbs and has awesome pop. Would the Easton XL1 28" 18 oz. be good for him? Baseball Dad
If your son is a power hitter the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth would be a great choice. The end loaded design is perfect for a player with quick bat speed and power.
Kara
My son is 9 years old to be 10 soon. He is 89 lbs. and 4'5", what bat side do you recommend? cs233
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the ***PREBOOK*** 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I'm 5'8" and 143 lbs, 12 years old. What size do you recommend? HH
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" model in the ***PREBOOK*** 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat. For further information on sizing, please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Aubrey
I am 4"8 and weigh 95 lbs. I swing a thirty inch 2013 S1. Should I get the MAKO or the new XL1? Awesomedude
If you are a power hitter the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is the best option. If you are a contact hitter the 2014 Easton MAKO: YB14MK would be better suited for you.
Kara
Hi, my son just turned 9, currently 4'8" and about 80 lbs of muscle. He won't be playing baseball again until spring, when he'll probably weigh around 90 lbs. He has been asking for an "XL2" bat but it looks like the new XL1 is what he would want. He is an excellent contact hitter with good power (only three strikeouts in the spring season). He really wants to hit his first over-the-fence home run. What size would you recommend? Slugger's dad
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
I am 5 ft and 100 lbs. What size would you recommend for me? Declan
Our charts are suggesting a 30" for your height and weight. Check out our bat coach for all your sizing needs! http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John
I dont now to get the 2014 xl1 or the mako I asked a questoin earlyer I am in beetween contact and power which should I get Awesome dude
It's totally up to your preference in swing weight. The XL1 has a slight end load that may slow down your swing if you're not a power hitter. The MAKO has an extended barrel, like the XL1, but it is much more balanced and designed for faster swing speeds. It sounds like you could use either.
Mac
My son plays 9 year old travel ball and is one of the big hitters of his team. He currently uses the Easton XL3 big barrel that belongs to a teammate. I would like to purchase one for him, but I don't know if the XL1 is a big barrel or not. baseball mom
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth has a 2 1/4" barrel. The 2013 Easton XL1: SL13X18 Senior League is a big barrel bat, and we will have the 2014 model in stock on November 1st.
Katie
If I order this bat in youth 29" when will I receive it? I plan to order it today! Ivy
We will ship out all of our Prebook orders on 8/30 with free shipping. With Monday being a holiday you are looking at a delivery on Wednesday September 4th.
John
Which bat is overaly better the 2014 xl1 or the mako Awesomedude
Both are very high performing composite bats. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth end loaded design, is best suited for a power hitter. The 2014 Easton MAKO: YB14MK is more balanced and best for a contact hitter.
Kara
when will the new 2014 xL2 youth bat come out bp
Unfortunately Easton will not be manufacturing the Easton XL2 Youth for the 2014 season.
Damon
Is the Easton XL1 or the Easton Mako a better bat? loldudeepic
Both are great bats. The Easton XL1 will have a slightly longer barrel that will be more end loaded. The Mako will will also have an extended barrel but will be more balanced.
Damon
What is the difference between the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth and 2013 Easton XL1 youth bat? HG
Easton did not make any changes between the 2013 and the 2014 Easton XL1, other than a slight cosmetic change.
Noah
I am 4' 10" and 90 pounds. I was wondering what size I should get, because I want a size that will last me a while. cheerleader4
If you want something to grow into I would suggest getting a 31" 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth and just choking up for a little bit.
Noah
What is the moment of inertia (MOI) compared to the Mako? I've heard this term used but can't find a number. Mike_N
There is no numbers used when comparing M.O.I's, but the M.O.I on the Mako will be much lower than the Easton XL1. The lower the M.O.I the lighter the swing weight.
Noah
What is the recommended break in period on this bat? Smokin Guns Baseball
We recommend 150-200 swings off the tee or soft toss. Make sure you rotate the barrel a quarter of an inch every 15-20 swings to fully break in the composite fibers.
John
What is the difference between the 2014 XL1 composite and the MAKO composite material? mavs23
The Easton XL1 uses the IMX composite which has been the same composite in previous years. The XL1 will have a larger sweet spot that will make the bat a little heavier than the MAKO. The MAKO uses Easton's TCT Thermal Composite Technology which is a lighter weight composite material that still allows the bat to have a large sweet spot.
John
My son is 10 years old, 4' 10'' and 70 lbs. He is currently using the Easton XL2 28" 17 oz. He is just a contact hitter. I'm thinking of getting him a 29 inch bat. Maybe the 2014 Easton S1 29" 17 oz. or the 2014 Easton MAKO 29" 18 oz. Which bat will have more bat speed or what bat would be better for him? Radical Rob
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is designed for a power hitter because it is end loaded. The Easton S1 or Easton MAKO will help increase his bat speed. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" bat.
Kara
I'm 11 years old. I hit for contact and power. Should I get the 2014 Easton XL1 or the Easton MAKO? Baseball 24
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 and the 2014 Easton MAKO are great bats. However, the 2014 Easton MAKO would be the most ideal bat for you.
Justin R.
It has been a couple years since we got my sons new bats. Which bats in the current Easton series are most similar to the Omen LCN1XL, Convert LT460XL, and Rival LC1XL? Big Rig
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is most similar to the Easton Omen, the 2013 Easton S2: YB13S2 Youth is similar to the Convert, but uses a higher grade of alloy in the barrel. The 2013 Easton S3: YB13S3 Youth replaced the Easton Rival.
Kara
My son loves his 2011 Easton Rival XXL (black and blue bat) 30" 20 oz. It is pretty beat up and dented after a long season this summer. What Easton bat is most similar to the Rival now that you no longer make the Rival? Is this XL1 at all similar? Matt
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth replaced the Easton Omen. The Easton S3: SL11S310B Senior League replaced the Easton Rival XXL.
Kara
I'm 10 years old, "4"11", and 80 lbs. I'm a huge power hitter. I hit a 250 fence 3 times and hit the top of the fence on a 200 field. Should I get a XL1? CRUSHER
Yes. The Easton XL1 is a great bat for a power hitter because it is end loaded which will allow you to take advantage of your power.
Damon
What size bat should I get I'm 4' 11" and 80 pounds? hitter
Based off of your height and weight you should be using a 30" 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Noah
What size bat should I use if I'm 5'1" tall? The Best Baseball Player Ever
The size of the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is best determined by your height and weight. Check out our bat coach for correct sizing; http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
My son has the YB11X1 30" 20 oz. and it is a great bat. Is the YB14X1 that much of an improvement to warrant spending the money on it? Greg
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth uses new composite material in the handle for better durability. The composite material in the barrel is the same.
Kara
I'm a power hitter. Which bat should I get? The 2014 XL1 or the 2013 S1? Which size, I'm 5 foot 118 pounds. awesome
I would recommend the Easton XL1. The large sweet spot is ideal for a power hitter. For your height and weight I would recommend going with a 30" model. Check out our Bat Coach for all of your sizing questions: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
John
Which bat has more pop, the 2014 XL1 or the 2014 CF6? Jim
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth and 2014 DeMarini CF6: DXCFL Youth are pretty comparable in terms of performance, as they'll both push the 1.15 BPF limitation. They are both two-piece fully composite designs, however the XL1 is end loaded while the CF6 is balanced.
Katie
Which bat has more pop? The 2014 Easton MAKO or the 2014 DeMarini CF6? Deb
Both models meet the USSSA 1.15 BPF certification and will have similar "pop".
John H
I am 11 years old 5'6" 135 pounds and also a power hitter in little league. What size would you recommend? ilovebaseball125
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" in the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Jason
My son is 7, weighs approximately 50 lbs. and is currently 48" tall. I am looking to purchase him a new bat for the Spring 2014 season. As I anticipate some growth, do you think the 28" 18 oz. bat will be too heavy much for him? He currently swings a 27" 15 oz. Sawyer
Based on his height and weight, our charts recommend a 27" model . The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat features an end loaded swing weight and would feel heavier, therefore may be too much of a transition for that player.
Aubrey
I'm 5' 9" and weigh 150 lbs. What inch bat should I swing? jj
Different bat sizes are not only associated with your height and weight but with age also. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat may not work if you need an adult bat. If you are in high school and need a BBCOR Adult model at your size, the recommended size would be a 32" 29 oz.
Brandon
I read a review where someone mentioned that after one game and two practices, the paint finish on the bat started to crack. Has there been a problem with this? Art
If a composite bat cracks fairly quickly, it is usually because the bat was not properly broken in.
John H
My son is 12, 132 lbs and 5'4". What size do you recommend for the 2014 Easton XL1? Coach
Using our bat coach feature, I would recommend a 32" 22 oz. for the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Justin R.

The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is a great option for a power hitter. The XL1 will have a longer barrel and be end loaded for added power.
Jason
My son is 8 years old, 48" tall and 65 lbs. He is a very good contact and power hitter. I can't decide on the size or model. Should I get the XL1 or the MAKO? Scott
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend using a 27'' or 28'' bat. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is going to have an end loaded feel. The Easton MAKO will be extremely balanced and have a light swing weight.
Tori
My son has the 2012 Easton XL1 (silver bat) in a 30/20 and has hit bombs with it for 2 years. He is 10 years old now and has grown to 5'2'' 153lbs. Should I upgrade to a 31/21? bfacekapsi
Based on you son's height and weight, we recommend getting the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth in a 31'' or moving up to a 32''. For more information on sizing please visit our bat coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tori
I am 5'1'' and 80 pounds. I hit with a lot of power. Should I get this or the MAKO? hunter
For power hitters, we recommend the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth because it is end loaded. The MAKO has a light swing weight and we recommend it for contact hitters.
Tori
Does this bat have a little bit of a fast swing speed or is it all top heavy? Is the barrel on YB14X1 longer than the YB14MK and by how much? The Power Hitting Machine
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is going to be end loaded, but you can still generate good swing speed with the bat depending on your strength. The MAKO will have a lighter swing weight. The XL1 is going to have a .5'' longer barrel than the MAKO.
Tori
Does it come with a 30 Day money back guarantee? nickbball
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat will not come with a 30 Day money back guarantee from Easton. It will come with a 12 month warranty from Easton.
Brandon
I am 11, 5'9" and 120 lbs. Would you recommend the YB14X1 or the YB14MK and what size? Easton Pride
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend using a 32'' bat. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is an end loaded bat and is going to be best suited for power hitters. The Easton Mako is going to be light weight and best suited for contact hitters.
Tori
My son had used the Omen bat -12 several years ago. After that bat I bought a CF5. What bat compared to that Omen? sth09
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is the most similar to the Easton Omen. It is a two-piece composite bat that is end loaded.
Kara
I am 11 and 4'11''. Is a 31/21 the best fit for me? Power Power POWER
The length that you should get in the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is dependent on your height and weight. Without knowing your weight, I would recommend a 30'' or a 31''. For more information on sizing please visit our Bat Coach at http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tori
I am 4' 11" 120 lbs and I am 11. Is the 31" 21 oz the best fit for me? Baseball Superstar
Based on your height and weight, a 30" model in the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is the suggested size.
Jason
My son is 11, 5'6" and 165 lbs. Is a 32" 21 oz. the bat for him? michael
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32" 22 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
How can i break in this bat? Is there a best way or just one way? Bomber
The correct way to break-in your 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is to take 100 -200 swings off a tee or soft toss. Rotate the barrel approximately 1/4" each swing. We recommend to avoid using a composite bat in batting cages that use yellow dimpled balls.
Kara
My son is 4' 11" and 80 lbs. The coach suggests a 28/18. We just ordered an Easton from you guys and it will be here today. Is it the right choice? Thanks. Pete
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat would be best for his size at around the 30" length.
Brandon
What is the best way to clean a composite bat? I have heard a Mr. Clean magic eraser works great. ryan
We recommend soap and water to clean any alloy or composite bat like the Easton XL1 Youth model.
Damon
Should I get a XL1 or MAKO? dmaglio
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is typically preferred by power hitters because of its end loaded swing weight. The 2014 Easton MAKO: YB14MK Youth is typically preferred by contact hitters because of its balanced swing weight.
Jason
My son is 10 years old. He is 4'10" & 110 lbs. What size XL1 do you recommend? Thanks. BJ
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
I am 5'2" and 120 pounds. What size should I get? the beast
Based on your height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
I am 4'9", 12 years old, and 98 lbs. I am not really a power hitter. I am more of a line drive type of hitter. Should I get the MAKO or XL1? What size should I get? TOO RAW
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is going to be better suited for a power hitter. I would recommend the MAKO because it is better suited for a contact hitter. Based on your height and weight, we would recommend using a 30''.
Tori
I read a description from a dealer about this bat, and they said that this bat was BBCOR Certified. What does that mean? Or is it a misprint? I am 4'9" and weigh 85 lbs., what size would be best? Joshua
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is not BBCOR certified. Only adult bats are BBCOR certified. Based on your height and weight we recommend a 29" Easton XL1.
Kara
My son is 11 years old, 4'10" but only about 65 pounds. He used a 30" 17 oz. last year and doesn't have any trouble getting the bat around. Should a 30" 18 oz. be okay for him? Alex
If he is getting around with a 30" 17 oz. the 30" 18 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth would be a great choice for him.
Kara
My son is 11 1/2 Years old, 5'4" & 105 lbs. He will be playing in the Majors Division in Little League. What size that do you recommend for him? shawn
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth.
Kara
Is the yellow lighter or darker than last year? h
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) will have the same yellow as the 2013 model.
Tori
My son is a 9 year old advanced player who hits for power. He is big for his age, just short of 5' tall and is 93 lbs. The chart shows him as being in a 31" bat, but my only hesitation is that he is only going to be 9 during baseball season. Is this the right bat for him, at a 30" or 31"? Joe
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth.
Jason
My son is 12 and 138 lbs. What length and weight do you recommend? Thanks. Lefty61
The correct sizing for the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is best determined by the height and weight of the player. Check out our bat coach for correct sizing: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
Is the significant difference between this bat and the 2014 Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth basically the stem/handle length? Are they the same barrel with different drops? S
Actually the barrel on the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth will be longer than the Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth and it will also be more end loaded.
Damon
My son is 10 yrs old. He's small for his age about 4', 57", 60-65 lbs. What would you recommend 2014 S1 or MAKO Junior Big Barrel? scooter
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is an end loaded bat and designed for a stronger player. The Easton MAKO Junior Big Barrel is designed for coach pitch only. We recommend the 2014 Easton S1: YB14S1 Youth for his age and size.
Kara
How does the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth compare to the 2014 Easton S1: SL14S110 Senior League? Both come in 30" 20oz. mjd
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is the top of the line model in the Easton XL series. The XL series bats are geared toward power hitting, as they feature an extra long barrel, expanded hitting zone and are slightly end loaded. The Easton S1: SL14S110 is the top of the line model in the Easton S-Series. The S-Series bats are geared toward contact hitting, as they feature a balanced swing weight, lighter length to weight ratios and a lower M.O.I.
Tessa L.
What does the 1.15 USSSA BPF stamp mean? h
Youth bats are almost universally governed by the 1.15 BPF. BPF stands for Bat Performance Factor, and measures the how fast the ball comes off the bat. Bats must meet this BPF standard in order to be approved for play. Nearly all youth bats, including the 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth are stamped with the 1.15 BPF mark.
Damon
What is the difference between the 2014 XL1 and the mako? It is time for my son to go up in length and he wants the mako but has been hitting with the 2011 xl1 in the past and has performed very well with it. Not sure which bat to purchase. Is there much of a difference? Deb
Both are very high performing composite bats. The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth end loaded design, is best suited for a power hitter. The 2014 Easton MAKO: YB14MK is more balanced and best for a contact hitter.
Tessa L.
My son is 8 years old, 4', and 50 lbs. Which bat is better the XL1 or the S2? T
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat would be best for a power hitter. The S2 would swing slightly lighter and more balanced. I see more 8 year old players swinging the S2 bat.
Brandon
My son he is not a power hitter, but he could swing the -10 bats with great bat speed. Should I get him the XL1 -10 or the MAKO -11? zay
If your son can swing a heavier bat and maintain good bat speed, he'll see better performance with the heavier bat. The 2014 Easton XL1: (YB14X1) Youth has a slightly end loaded swing weight and is great for players that have higher swing speeds. The majority of players will benefit more when using a balanced bat like the MAKO, but choosing between the two designs really comes down to player preference and experience.
Mac
My son is 11, weighs 115 pounds and is 5 feet tall. What length do you recommend? 808dude
Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth.
Jason
Are we sure this bat is legal for Little League baseball and LL ALL-STARS? Rich
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth is approved for play in the Majors division and below in Little League. The XL1 youth model features the USSSA 1.15 BPF stamp and is on the approved list of composite bats by the Little League committee.
Jason
I am 53 inches and I don't have a fast swing, but i love pop. Is this the right bat or the Easton MAKO? Shivam patel
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth has a slightly end loaded swing weight and might not be the best option for a player that needs a faster swing. The Easton MAKO is a much better bat for a player who needs to increase their bat speed. The Balanced swing weight and bigger drop weight will help increase bat speed.
Jason
When will the 2015 Easton XL1 come out? ARMS
Easton is scheduled to release the 2015 Easton XL1 in the fall of 2014.
Kara
Does the XL1 lose its pop? If so, about how how do they last? ball boy
Any bat including the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) can lose its pop over time. With proper care, the the XL1 should last approximately two seasons.
Kara
Is this a big barrel? ajswing
No, the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth (YB14X1) has a 2 1/4" barrel. You will need to look at a "Senior League" model for a big barrel.
John
My son is 11 years old, about 4'11" and 100 lbs. He almost never strikes out and normally drives the ball close to the fence. We're trying to decide whether the XL1 or Mako would be better suited for him. JT
Both the 2014 Easton MAKO (SL14MK9) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X15) feature a two-piece fully composite design. These two bats possess a large sweet spot, however the XL1 is equipped with a longer and slightly end loaded barrel that is geared more towards power hitters.
Gary T.
My son is 8 yrs., 4'2" and 55 lbs. He currently swings a 28" 18 oz. COMBAT big barrel, which he is doing amazing with. I like the S1 but I didn't want to go to a -12. Will the XL1 -10 be okay for his size? Tina
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded bat and is designed for a power hitter. If you want a balanced bat that is closest to a -10 we would recommend the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK).
Kara
Does this bat have a USSSA stamp on it? cade
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) has the USSSA stamp on it.
Tessa L.
My son is 7 years old, 4 ft., and 50 lbs. He played with the 2013 XL1 28" 18 oz. last year on the pitching machine as a 6 year old. What bat would you recommend? coach
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would be a great option for him. Easton had a lot of great feedback on the Easton XL series overall so they really didn't make a lot of changes to the overall design of the bat. Performance wise, this bat will be comparable to his bat last year. The only differences between the two years will be cosmetic.
Tessa L.
My son is 13 and needs a big barrel bat. He weighs 71 lbs and he is 5' 2". What size would I get him? Would you go with the MAKO baseball bat? father baseball
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is a small barrel bat, so you will need to go to the Youth Big Barrel Section of our site. I would recommend looking at 31" models based on your son's age, height and weight. The MAKO would be an excellent option to go with. I would check out the SL14MK9, which would be the 31" 22 oz.
Justin R.
My son is 10. He is 5'3" and weighs 110 pounds. He is a pretty strong kid, decent bat speed and a long swing. What Easton bat would you recommend based on that description? Dad
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded at, best suited for a player with power and quick bat speed.
Kara
We have a 2012 Easton XL1. Son is now 12, 5'4" and 120 pounds. He started playing 50/70 and interested in a big barrel. Would there a material difference in swing and balance with the big barrel XL1 (-8)? I'm hoping by using the same model, it will not be much of a change for him. Steve
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X18) will be similar in feel and performance. However, if he is playing 50/70 Little League the XL1 would not be legal. All composite barrel bats must be BBCOR certified. The 2014 Easton XL3 (SL14X39) would be legal in Little Leage 50/70. It would be a great alternative for him.
Kara
I just purchased XL1. My son is 4'5' & weighs 65. Is this a good bat for him? If not, can I trade it in for another bat? This bat is unused. Nate
For a player that size we typically recommend a 29" bat. The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) has more of an end loaded barrel that aims to benefit power hitters. If you think your son would benefit from a more balanced bat, we would be happy to exchange this unused one for another. You can utilize our 'return' tab in the upper right hand corner of justbats.com or feel free to give us a call at 1-(866)-321-2287.
Gary T.
my grandson is 5'4'' tall 150lbs will turn 12 yrs old in April. Currently playing 12u rec and 13aaa select. looking to improve bat performance. Important to make right decision to spend money. he has played for about 7 yrs. old man
The 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth is a high quality baseball bat. It is a two-piece full composite design and will have a very good sweet spot on the barrel. This bat has been very popular among our customers and the reviews have been positive as well. I think this would be a good choice for you.
Merritt
My son is 5'8" and 110 pounds, very fast hands and strong. Would a 31" 21 oz. or 32" 22 oz. be better? He usually swings a 32" 20 oz. in COMBAT but wants a XL1? stringbean
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 32" 22 oz. 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Kara
My son is 7 an weighs about 50-55 lbs. I want to purchase this bat for him. What length and weight would be good for him? Logik62
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded bat and typically is not recommended for a younger player. We recommend a balanced bat such as the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1) for his size. We recommend a 28" 16 oz.
Kara
Is this bat comparable to the easton omen? mike
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth is a slight step up from the Easton Omen. The S1 is a two piece full composite.
Jackson
Is this bat little league approved? Also my son is 5' 4" 140 lbs, what bat size do you recommend ? Cowboy
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth is little league approved. As far as bat sizing goes, I would recommend a 31 inch or a 32 inch. Whatever the player is comfortable with.
Jackson
My son is just made 10 years old, weights about 75 lbs, & is about 4'5" tall. The kid is a great contact hitter & has good power. Do you think this bat would be a good fit for him & if not what do you think I should get him? Duston
The Easton XL1 (YB14X1) features an end loaded design, typically preferred by power hitters. If your son is more of a contact hitter, I recommend going with the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1). It has the same two-piece composite design of the XL1, however it features a balanced swing weight, preferred by contact hitters.
Tessa L.
How does this bat compare to last years? DD
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth is the same as the 2013 XL1, it just has an updated paint scheme.
Jason
i am a strong kid and i was wonder if i should get the xl1 or mako jj
You cant go wrong with either bat, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is goint to be more end loaded than the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14Mk).
Jackson
Is this bat better than the Easton MAKO? george martinez
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would feature a more end loaded swing weight and a larger sweet spot than the Easton MAKO. The XL1 would be more suited for a power hitter. The MAKO will feature one of the most balanced swing weight and the upgraded ICT composite. The MAKO would be suited for a player looking for a bat with a large sweet spot and balanced swing weight.
Justin R.
Do the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth and the 2014 Easton XL3 (YB14X3) Youth have the same size barrel and sweet spot? PatW
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth and the 2014 Easton XL3 (YB14X3) Youth are great bats. The XL1 will have a bigger sweet spot because of the composite barrel.
Damon
My son is a 9 year old. He is 4' 9" and weighs 93 lbs. What size XL1 do you recommend? Big dog
A 30" 2014 Easton XL1: YB14X1 Youth bat would be recommended at his size.
Brandon
My 5'5" 100 lb. 12 year old son has fast bat speed and is a good hitter. I plan to get him a 32" bat but I don't know what drop. He swung this and loved it but thought maybe a -10 was a bit too light. But, -10 seems to be the heaviest youth bat and a BBCOR -3 is too heavy. Do you think this bat will work for him or does he need something heavier? Amy
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded bat and is ideal for a player with quick bat speed. It is the most common choice for an older player, as there are limited choices for -10 bats.
Kara
Is the 2014 XL1 identical to the 2013 XL1 other than paint job? deekazz
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth has all the same specifications as the 2013 XL1 other than the updated color/paint scheme.
Jason
I dont know if i should get the xl1 or the mako. Which bat is better please i need to know asap. Big Lou
The biggest difference between the 2014 Easton XL1 and the 2014 Easton MAKO will be that the 2014 Easton XL1 will be end-loaded and the 2014 Easton MAKO will be balanced. If you are more of a power hitter, the end-loaded feel on the 2014 Easton XL1 would be an excellent choice. The Easton MAKO is very balanced, making it a great choice for contact hitters, because it will be a little bit easier to generate faster bat speed. Both of these models are very high quality, it will ultimately depend on what fits your playing style the best.
Merritt
Will this bat be good for me I currently swing a 2013 easton xl3 I'm not much of a contact hitter but will this bat be a good move for me or the mako big lou
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X) and the 2014 Easton MAKO (B14MK) would be a great fit for you. The Easton XL1 bat is a two-piece fully composite design with a massive sweet spot. While the Mako is also a two-piece fully composite design. The biggest difference is that the Mako will be one ounce lighter than the Easton XL1.
Kyle
Is this bat the same as the 2013 XL1? big lou
They are going to be very similar because they use the same type of composite. The difference between the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) and the 2013 XL1 (YB13X1) is mostly paint job. They are both high preforming bats.
Zach
Compare the XL1 to the Combat Portent. Pull hitter
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) and the 2014 COMBAT Portent XL (PORSL210) are both top of the line composite material bats. The major difference is that the XL1 is a two-piece design that will have a bit more flex than the Portent. The XL1 is also slightly end-loaded or barrel heavy compared to the portent. Both are extremely durable and are capable of high performance.
Patrick
Inquiring on comparisons of the YB14S1 to the YB14X1. Why one over the other? JK
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded two-piece composite bat and designed for a power hitter. The (YB14S1) is a balanced two-piece composite bat and best suited for a contact hitter. Both bats use the the same quality composite materials.
Kara
what has the lighter swing weight the xl1 -10 or combat puregear -10? swj
The COMBAT Pure Gear: (PUREYB1) features map technology that uses single wall technology to allow for a longer barrel and provides a lighter swing weight. The 2014 Easton XL1 will feel a little bit heavier because this particular model will be end-loaded. The weight at the end of the barrel will be heavier, whereas the weight distribution in COMBAT Pure Gear will be more balanced, making it easier to generate a faster swing speed.
Merritt
I'm a contact hitter who hits the gaps. Should I get the Easton XL1 or Easton Mako? cam
For a contact hitter I would suggest the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MY) since it has a more balanced swing weight than the XL1.
Jackson
Our son is playing in a 9U travel league. He is about 75 lbs and is about 55/56 inches tall. He is definitely more of a contact hitter. I see that the XL1 is more for power hitters. Which bat and which size would best be suited for him? Bub
For someone the size of your son we would recommend a 29" bat, although you can go up or down 1" depending on things like if he likes to choke up on the bat, how far he stands from the plate, etc. I would recommend the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1) as it is made in a similar style to the XL1, however it will have a very balanced swing weight to allow for maximum bat speed, which is preferred by contact hitters.
Kyle J.
My son is 12 years old, 5'4'' tall, weighs 121 lbs and is also a power hitter. Should i get him an Easton XL1 or MAKO and what size? He is planning to use it for 2 to 3 years. PghScott4
For someone the size of your son we would recommend a 31" bat, although you could go up or down 1" depending on things such as if he likes to choke up on the bat, how far he stands from the plate, etc. For a power hitter I would recommend the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) as it has an end-loaded swing weight whereas the MAKO has a balanced swing. End-loaded swing weights are generally preferred by power hitters.
Kyle J.
How does that bat compare to the Easton Omen? john
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is very similar to the Omen. The XL1 will have an upgraded handle, a more end loaded swing weight, and a different length to weight ratio.
Justin R.
Which bat is more end loaded XL1 -10 or Combat Pure Gear -10? cj
The Easton XL1 (YB14X1) will be a slightly more end loaded than the Combat Pure Gear.
Bobby
We just bought this bat for our son. Can he use this at batting cages where real baseballs are pitched from the machine? VP
Yes, but limiting the amount you use your game bat will absolutely extend its useful life. As long as your hitting real baseballs with this 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth bat, the bat won't have any higher risk of damage that it would if you used it in a game. But you can run through quite a few hits in a batting cage, and you could take some life out of the bat.
Mac
Do you need to break in this bat? if so how many hits? chaser
We recommend around 150-200 swings off of a tee or soft toss to break in the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Bobby
Does Easton make an XL1 junior big barrel bat with a drop 10? andrew warrener
No. Easton currently only offers an S1, XL3 and Mako version of the Junior Big Barrel bat.
Patrick
Is this bat Little League approved for 13 year olds? chuck
The Intermediate (50/70) Division of Little League for 11-13 year old players requires fully composite bats to be BBCOR certified. Therefore, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would not be approved.
Gary T
Does the XL1 or any other Easton bat resemble the Stealth? Matt
The Easton Stealth was replaced by the Easton Omen then the Easton S1. So the closest model available to the Stealth design would be the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1). The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would be similar but would have a more end-loaded swing weight.
Patrick
My son turned 10 two weeks ago. He is 5'2" and 130 lbs., solid not fat swings a DeMarini Distance 31". Swings like a man. What size bat does he need? I'm thinking 32" 22 oz. What do you think? the ROCK
Based on his height and weight we recommend a 31" 21 oz. 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Kara
what bat should i get my son and size and weight hes about 5'3 5'4 what should i get him baseball
What is his height and weight? Does he tend to be more of a power hitter or contact? Is he required to use the small barrel?
Damon
My son is 11, 5'3 to 5'4 130 pounds. baseball
Based on the information you gave, I recommend a 31" 21 oz. in the Easton XL1 (YB14X1) for your son.
Zach
My son currently uses his teammates 29" 18 oz. MAKO. He hits extremely well with it, however he now pulls everything. Would getting him the XL1 help him spread the ball around a little more since it is slightly heavier and is end loaded? Or do you believe he should just step up to a 30" 19 oz. MAKO? He's 10 years old, weighs 95 lbs. is about 4'8". MVP DAD
If he is pulling the ball, we recommend moving to an end loaded ball such as the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1). The end loaded feel should help spread the ball out over the field. Based on his height and weight we recommend a 30" 20 oz.
Kara
My son is 4 foot 8 weighs 85 pounds. What size should he get? ryan
Based on your son's height and weight we would suggest the 29 inch size of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Patrick
My son is 12 years old. He is 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds. What bat would you suggest? MEL
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would be a great model for him if he needs a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter bat. Based on his height and weight we would suggest the 32 inch length. The slightly end-loaded feel should be good for a player of his size.
Patrick
Do you carry the Easton XL1 in a -5 (31/26)? Tim
We do have the 2014 Easton XL1: (SL14X15) available in a 31/26. It is not available in the Youth model, however, we do have it available in the Senior League model.
Merritt
I'm 10 years old and 4 foot 9. What bat do you suggest? baseball kid
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would be a great choice for you. I would recommend the 30" size based on your height.
Bobby
I'm 12, 5'1" and 87 pounds. Which length do you suggest? Clutch42
Using our Bat Coach, I determined that a 30" would be the best length for a player your size in the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Kelby
I am 5'2 and I'm 12 years old and I weigh 105 pounds. What length is most likely going to fit me better? Batting kid
We would recommend a 31" in the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth model for a player with your height and weight.
John
What is the difference between the 2013 model and this? Cam
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth and the 2013 XL1 are the same bat except for the graphic design.
Jason
Does this bat have the power to hit it over the fence? I'm 5'3" and 112 lbs. What size should I get? Bob
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1 Youth) bat will have the extended barrel length. It will help add performance and power. The best recommended size for you will be a 31" bat length.
Brandon
My nephew is 10 and has been hitting an Easton S1 31" 19 oz. since last season. He has a very fast swing and when he makes contact he hits line drives to the outfield or deep hits out to the fence. We were thinking of getting him a bat with a little more weight to give him a little more distance. Do you think the XL1 would be a good bat to move up to or the MAKO? Charlie
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is an end loaded bat. It is a great choice for a player that has quick speed and wants to generate more power.
Kara
I see that you can get the XL1 in a 30 inch and 20 ounce size but my MAKO is 30 inches and 19 ounces. Can I get this bat in a 30 inch 19 ounce size? Gonzo
No. The design of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) makes it a -10 length to weight ratio which makes the 30 inch bat weigh 20 ounces. Likewise, the design of the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) makes it a -11 length to weight ration making a 30 inch bat weigh 19 ounces. There is no way to customize the weighting of the bat.
Patrick
What weight and size is recommended for a 10 year old that weighs about 70 lbs.? Krystee
The size of the bat is best determined by a players height and weight. To determine the correct size of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1), we recommend our bat coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Kara
Is this big barrel? EtRain
No. The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would not be a big barrel model. It features a standard youth barrel with a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter. The 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X18) Senior League bat would be a youth big barrel model of the bat.
Patrick
Does this bat need to be broken in? BASEBALLMAMA
Yes. The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) bat would require a short break-in period before it would reach full performance potential. We recommend about 150-200 swings of soft toss or tee work while rotating the barrel. This will ensure an even break-in.
Patrick
I am 5 feet tall, I weigh 85 pounds and I am 10 years old. I can swing a 20 ounce bat pretty fast. Should I get this bat or the Easton S1? AWESOME kid
Based on what you have said about your abilities, I would suggest going with the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1). The slightly end-loaded weight of the XL1 may provide more power if you are able to swing it the same as a similarly weighted, balanced bat.
Patrick
Is this bat Little League approved? baseball
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1: (YB14X1) will be approved for play in Little League.
Merritt
Is the XL1 better than the MAKO or S1? bballalldayeveryday
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1), the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) and the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1) are all great models. The XL1 is slightly more end-loaded than the other two models which may be a bit more beneficial for a power hitter type player by focusing the weight of the bat to the hitting area.
Patrick
What can you tell me about the MOI of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth bat? 3timeSFLLall*Jay
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth is an end loaded bat. Of the Easton Power Brigade series the 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) Youth and the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1) Youth will have a lower MOI. The Easton S1 having the lowest.
Damon
I am switching to an XL1 from an S1. I consistently hit balls to the fence with the S1. Will the XL1 give me those few extra feet to help me raise my home run count? juko
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1 Youth) will have an extended barrel design. It will have a larger sweet spot which could help you square up the baseball more easily upon contact.
Brandon
My son has had this bat for just a few days and is breaking it in off the tee. It already has a paint chip on it. Should I be concerned and look to replace it? Baseball Mom
Usually, small chips to the paint of composite bats like the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) do not lead to any performance problems with the bat. Damage would be more noticeable in the form of a tear in the composite material or a substantial drop off in performance.
Patrick
Can you show me a picture of the XL1 2015 model? Josh
We do not currently have any pictures of the 2015 Easton XL1 (YB15X1). The bat will be released on September 1st of this year and we will have photos available at that point.
Patrick
When will the 2015 XL1 be available to buy? mets8341
The 2015 lineup from Easton is expected to be released on September 1st. The newer 2015 model of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1).
Patrick
How much is the 2015 Easton XL1 going to be? Josh
We do not currently know the price that will featured for the 2015 Easton XL1 (YB15X1).
Patrick
Is the XL1 made for big hitters? mateofun17
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1: (YB14X1) is going be designed for power hitters. This model will incorporate a slight end-load, and generally this characteristic is preferred by big hitters.
Merritt
I am 4 feet 10 inches tall and weigh 80 pounds. What size bat should I get? Should I get a speed bat like the S1 or a heavier bat like the XL1? stafford hurricanes
Based on your height and weight we would suggest a 30 inch bat. The type you should get would be based on your style of play. If you are a power hitter with a fast swing speed I would go with the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1). If you are more of a contact hitter who could use some added bat speed I would go with the 2014 Easton S1 (YB14S1).
Patrick
I am 10 years old, 4 foot 10 and I weigh 130 pounds. I am a power hitter. Which Easton bat would be the best choice for my height and weight? Alex
The type of bat you should get is not really based on height and weight but more on your type of play. If you are a power hitter, the slightly end-loaded feel of the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) would benefit your game by putting the weight of the bat to where the ball is being hit. Based on your height and weight, we would suggest a 30 inch bat.
Patrick
I am 5 foot 1,10 years old, and weigh 87 pounds. I can hit the ball pretty far. What bat would be best for me; the XL1, S1, MAKO, or the CF6? AWESOME kid
All of those bats would be a great option. If you are more of a power hitter it may be good to go with the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) due to its more end-loaded design.
Patrick
Are there any performance differences between the big barrel XL1 and the small barrel XL1? Vin
The only difference between the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) and the 2014 Easton XL1 (SL14X18) would be the weight and the barrel size. The heavier bat with a bigger barrel may allow for better hitting in that you have more room for error while swinging and if you hit the ball the heavier bat would put more force on it.
Patrick
Can you wrap a warm towel to help break in the fibers. .. lew
We recommend about 150-200 swings off a tee starting out about 40% and working your way up rotating the bat about a quarter of an inch after each swing. We have found that that is what works best for breaking composite bats.
Cooper
What is the barrel length (not diameter) on a 31 inch XL1? AWESOME kid
It is tough to measure the barrel length on bats because there can be some debate on where the barrel would start and end on the bat. From the end cap to the connection piece on the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) the length is around 15.75 inches.
Patrick
is there a 2015 Easton XL1 Xebaz
Yes, Easton is coming out with a new 2015 model but we do not have any information on those yet. For more information you could contact Easton directly at 1-888-259-1297
Cooper
Should I go with the 30" or 31" XL1? I am 4'10" and 85 lbs., but I want the bat for next season. I have swung the 30" before and felt that it was a good size, but the bat is for next season. Which one should I go with? UW
Based on your current height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1). It is tough to predict how much you will grow between now and next season. You could make the jump to a 31" bat, that is something that you could potentially grow into, however, that will be up to you. As a general rule of thumb, you want to swing the longest and heaviest bat that you can comfortably and consistently control. It will be up to you on if you would like to make the jump to a 31".
Tessa
Is the youth Easton XL1 legal in Pony baseball? If so, is it a good decision to use it in that league? Phillip
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) is legal in Pony Baseball. WIth the extended barrel design and end loaded feel, the XL1 is a great bat to use in the league.
Sean
If you would want more bat speed would you recommend a mako or xl1 Brian
The 2014 Easton MAKO (YB14MK) Youth will be the more balanced of the two, which will lead to greater swing speed.
Damon
I have a 31" 20 oz. MAKO that I can swing well. I might want an XL1. I'm 4'10" and 90 pounds, what size do you recommend? Giant Fan
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1). Sizing is preferential though, so if you wanted to stick with a 31", that is something to take into consideration as well. For more information on sizing, check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Tessa
I'm 11, and I might consider getting the XL1. I'm also 115 pounds and very strong. Should I get this bat? merrr
The 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) Youth bat features a slight end load because of the extended barrel design. If you are a stronger player, this bat should be a great fit. Typically, 11 year old players will use 30" or 31" bats, but check out our Bat Coach tool for a size recommendation: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
My son was hitting great with a regular 30 inch 18 ounce bat. Pulling almost all of them into left field. He had about a .500 average for the season. He is 10.5 years old, 4'9" tall and about 85 lbs. He really wanted a new bat for Allstars so we bought him a 30" XL1 but he's not hitting well with it and I'm afraid it's too heavy for him. He said he loved the feel of the bat and it felt more "right" that the S1 (I tried talking him into the S1 but he said it didn't feel as good). Any advice on how to get him hitting with this new bat? Will he maybe grow into it next year? Smiley182
If your son struggles to pull the ball with the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) I would recommend waiting. As he grows and becomes stronger he should be able to handle its heavier swing weight and end loaded feel.
Bobby
I was just told that this bat is illegal for little league 50/70 intermediate division. Is that true? disappointed I will have to get a new bat now baseballdad
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be illegal for the 50/70 Intermediate division since it has a composite barrel. Composite barrel bats are required to be BBCOR certified for that league.
Kelby
Which bat would be the best for me? I'm 12 years old 5'4" and 130 pounds. The Easton MAKO are the Easton XL1? drew
Depending on what type of hitter you are will determine what bat will be better for you. If you are more of a contact hitter then the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) but if you are a contact hitter then I would recommend using the 2014 Easton MAKO.
Cooper
I'm 9 and about 70 pounds. What size do you recommend? The other guy
We typically recommend a 30" bat for an average-sized 9 year old. For a more specific recommendation, check out our Bat Coach tool: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/.
Mac
Will the 2015 XL1 have the same composite material as the 2014 model or do you anticipate a different or more similar material as the Mako? Thanks! ncbowhunter
We have not yet received the features of the new 2015 Easton XL1. We should be getting some information on those in the upcoming weeks but like I said, we currently do not have the bat's features.
Cooper
My son is 4'11'' and weighs about 111. He is relatively strong. Which size bat would you recommend? lisa
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 31" in the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
I'm 5'7" and weight about 130 lbs, what size do you recommend? tyler
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Bat (YB14X1) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
What is the difference between the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Easton XL1, besides the design? AWESOME kid
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) will have a slight difference in color compared to the 2012 and 2013 models. The 2012 XL1 Youth featured an IMX composite handle. The 2013 and 2014 XL1 Youth bats will feature an SIC Black Carbon handle. It will eliminate more hand sting and vibration.
Brandon
I'm 4'5" and 73 lbs. What size should I get that would fit me next year? j
Based on your approximate height and weight, I would suggest 29". However, if you are looking for a size to last you into next year, I would probably recommend moving up to 30" in the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14X1).
Merritt
I'm 5'3" and 165 lbs. What size is needed? Clark
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
My son is 4 ft 11" and 93 pounds, he is a contact hitter but he is strong, can he use a XL1? BaseballPro24
Yes, if your son is strong and has a quick swing speed the 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) will be a good option for him.
Sean
Is this BBCOR bat? shelly
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is not BBCOR certified. The 2014 XL1 model that features that certification is the (BB14X1) - (http://goo.gl/qs4Z1Y). All BBCOR certified bats must not have a length to weight ratio greater than -3, a barrel diameter that does not exceed 2 5/8", and must features the BBCOR .50 certification mark.
Mac
I am 11 years old and I am 4 foot 10 and weigh 80 pounds. I pull balls easily and I am strong. Could I use an XL1? Hio
If you are more of a power hitter, the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be a good fit for you.
Patrick
I'm 12, 5"6 and weigh 180 lbs, what size should I get? bobby bill
Based on results from our Bat Coach (http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/), we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton XL1 (YB14X1) for a player with your height and weight.
Sean
My son is 5'2" 125 lbs and is a power hitter. Which one do you think would be a better fit for him: the MAKO or the XL1? Moose
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is typically better for power hitters because of the extra weight and slightly end loaded design. The MAKO has a more balanced swing weight and is typically better for contact hitters. Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 31" bat.
Jason
I'm 11, 5'4" and weigh 140 lbs. Do you think this would be a good bat for me? Big Papi
If you are more of a power hitter, the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be a great option to check out. The end loaded swing weight is typically preferred by power hitters, who generally have great bat speed and are on the stronger side. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Tessa
Can I use a big barrel in Little League Majors? Hi
For the Majors division of Little League, you will still need to use a 2 1/4" barrel, such as the one featured on the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1). Big barrel bats will not be legal for play.
Tessa
Is this bat the same as the 2 5/8 Easton S1 Power Brigade (-10) (SL14S110) Senior League Baseball Bat? My son is 6 years old and is a strong hitter but is not consistent with accuracy. Would you recommend the S1 or XL1? Will
The biggest difference between these two models is simply going to be the weight distribution and the size of the barrel. The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14X1) features a slight end-load, which generally is preferred by power hitters. It will also incorporate a 2 1/4 inch barrel diameter. Therefore, in order to help improve consistency but still favor his big hitting, I would probably suggest the 2014 Easton S1 Senior League Baseball Bat: ( SL14S110) . The even weight distribution in this model will make it easy for hitters to get around the ball and continually generate a faster bat swing.
Merritt
What is so good about composite bats? Bob joe
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) features a two-piece fully composite design. Composite bats require a break in period before they will see their top performance, however--once it is properly broken in--it will continue to get more responsive the more that you use the bat and loosen up the composite fibers in the barrel. Technically speaking, composite bats will hold their pop longer than alloy barrel bat, since alloy bats are hottest right out of the wrapper but performance wise, will taper off the more that you use it. Here is a link to our Buying Guide. At this link, you will be able to watch some informational videos that really outline the pros and cons of having an composite bat: http://www.justbats.com/buying-guides/baseball-bats/
Tessa
I live in the Northeast, and we play in temperatures below 55 degrees at times. I'm worried about a composite bat in the lower temps. Would this bat be OK to use in the cold, or would I be better off with a fully alloy bat or a two-piece hybrid? EB
We do not recommend using any non-wood bat, including the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1), in temperatures below 55°F (13°C). In those temperatures, the ball becomes much more dense and could damage or shorten the useful life of your bat. Composite can crack, and alloy can dent, so neither material is proven to be better in cold weather, unfortunately.
Mac
My son is turns 8 next month, is 4' 6 1/2" tall and weighs 107 lbs. His best tool is hitting for power. Which bat should be his next: MAKO, SL1 or XL1? Jr
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is the best option for a power hitter. The extra weight and slightly end loaded design is ideal for a power hitter. Based on his height and weight, we recommend 30" bat.
Jason
What is the difference between the 2014 and the 2012 XL1. My son is 5'2" and 100lbs. What size would you recommend? Mac
The main difference between the 2014 Easton XL1 and the 2012 model is that composite handle. The 2014 XL1 features Easton's SIC Carbon Composite Technology in the handle to help reduce vibrations. We would recommend a 31" for a player with his height and weight.
John
My son is 8 years old, 4'2" and weighs 50-55 lbs. He is skinny and lean, not much power. He is starting did pitch next year. What model or size would you recommend? ski
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 28" bat. The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is best suited for a power hitter with its heavier weight and slightly end loaded design. The 2015 Easton S1 Composite Youth Bat (YB15S1) is a better option for a contact hitter and player his size.
Jason
My son is 7 years old and 52 inches tall. He weighs 85 pounds. He is currently still in coach pitch and will be 8 in a couple months. Right now he uses a 28 inch 16 ounce Easton S300 that is much to small for him. Would you suggest the 29 inch or 30 inch XL1? I feel the 30 inch would be a better fit because he can grow with it, but I'm not sure if the 4 ounce more weight will be too big a jump from what he has now. Johnny
Both the 29 inch and 30 inch sizes of the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be options that would be within the range of what we would expect a player of your son's size to use. It would be a big adjustment in terms of weight and he would have to work at it but with work he should be able to adjust if you are wanting a model that he can grow into for a while.
Patrick
Does this bat come in a big barrel? jaydawg
Yes, the 2014 Easton XL1 Senior League Baseball Bat (SL14X18) is the big barrel version of the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1).
Jason
my son is 5' 83 lbs he is a power hitter that need a bat he can grow into how big and what kind of bat s mako or xl? big bam
If your son if more of a power hitter, I would suggest the Easton XL1 (YB14X1) since it will have the heavier swing weight. Typically power hitter can handle the added weight which will result in more power. For a player his size, I would suggest a 30"-31" size. He is very close to the line of a 30" and a 31", so if you are planning on something to grow into, I would suggest a 31" size.
Kelby
What bat should I get? My son is 5', and 83 lbs. Do you think I should get him the S1, MAKO or XL1? He needs to get a bat he can grow into. long ball
Based on the player's approximate height and weight, I would probably suggest 31" in order for him to be able to use the bat a little bit longer. As for the model, it will ultimately depend on his playing style. If he is more of a power hitter, I would suggest the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14X1). Otherwise, the 2014 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14MK) and 2014 Easton S1 Youth Baseball Bat: (YB14S1) would be ideal for contact players.
Merritt
What is the difference between this bat and the 2013 version? K. G.
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) and the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB13X1) will be very similar in terms of overall design. The main differences will be cosmetic in nature.
Patrick
Do you recommend this bat for me? I am 12 years old, 5'2", and weigh 130 lbs. homerunsallday
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is best suited for a power hitter with its heavier weight and slightly end loaded design. If you are more of a contact hitter, the Easton S1 may be an option better suited for your hitting style. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 31" bat.
Tessa
What size XL1 should my son use? He is a power hitter that is 5 feet tall and weighs 99 pounds. SJ
Based on his height and weight, we would suggest that he use a 30 inch bat. An end-loaded model like the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) would be good for him if he is a power hitter.
Patrick
I hear that some bats including the XL1 are heavier than they say. I am thinking about getting an XL1. Can you tell me how much exactly a 31/21 size XL1 weighs? K.P.15
The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) in the 31/21 will weight 21 oz.
Brandon
My son is going to be 10 in a few weeks. He is 4 feet 8 inches and weighs 75 pounds and plays in a travel league that only permits Little League Approved Bats. He has a quick swing and hits for power. Is the 2015 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat YB15MK a better choice than the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat YB14X1? David
Both the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) and the 2015 Easton MAKO Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MK) are great, top of the line options. The preference would come down to whether you want a balanced bat like the MAKO or a more end-loaded or barrel heavy bat like the XL1. Power hitters tend to prefer the end-loaded feel but all players can use a balanced model like the MAKO.
Patrick
I have an Easton XL1 and I'm wondering how to break the bat in? cj10
The easiest way to break-in the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is to hit soft toss or from a batting tee for 200-300 swings. Rotate the barrel after each swing to ensure a 100% barrel break-in. Also, start off at about 50% swing power and at swing 250-300 go ahead and hit at full power. After 300 swings, it should be ready for games.
Brandon
I am 9 years old and 60 lbs. I am also a power hitter. What size should I swing? baseball baseball
A 29" -30" would be the best recommended size for you in the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1).
Brandon
I am 12 years old, 82 lbs,and about 4'6". What size bat should I swing? wicky21
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 28" or 29" model in the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1).
Jason
I'm 12 and 214 pounds. Would a 32" XL1 be too small for me? Also, I'm 5 7 which bat should I get? reg
Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 32" 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1).
Tessa
What is the best bat for an 11 year old? He is 85 lbs and 5' tall? Gui
It really depends on what type of hitter the player is to determine the best option for them. The 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is a terrific option for a power hitter. If he is more of a contact hitter, then the Easton MAKO is a great option. Based on his height and weight, we recommend a 30" model.
Jason
What size bat should my son get he's 7yr old 78lbs 4 ft 3 Cade
Using our Bat Coach, I would recommend the 28" model based on your son's height and weight.
Tom
What is bat drop? I have seen this term and not sure what it means. bill
Bat drop is the difference between the length and weight of the bat. So the 2014 Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) has a drop -10 because the length (28") minus the weight (18 oz.) is 10. The larger the drop, the lighter the bat will feel.

Need a bat recommendation. My son has an Easton Reflex 27" drop -13. It's time get a bigger bat with great pop. He is 9 years old, 55 lbs., 52" tall, and he will be playing minors this year. We would like to stay with Easton bats. What do you suggest? Ry Ry
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) only comes in 32" and it is end-loaded which I think will be a bit too heavy for him. I would suggest the 29" Easton S1: YB15S1. The S1 is going to be a balanced bat and there is a 29" which is the length I would recommend for him to use.

Is it better than a COMBAT Wanted? suk suk
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) will be very similar to the COMBAT Wanted. The XL1 will actually have more of an end loaded feel. The Wanted will feel more balanced. Both bats will be 100% composite and have great pop/performance. Both are also very durable as well.

I am a 12 year old boy playing my last year of Little League. I am 5 feet tall and 93 pounds. I have borrowed my friend's XL1 before and hit a home run with it. I love the bat but not sure if it is the right bat to buy. Are there any reccomendations for a bat, preferably full composite with a 2 1/4 barrel. If so, what size? Thanks! baseballboy123
Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 30" bat. It really depends on what type of hitter you classify yourself as. If you are somebody that hits multiple homeruns in a year and have really good bat speed, the the XL1 or MAKO XL would be a good option for you. If you consider yourself more of a contact a better option might be the Easton MAKO.

My son is 5'2" and weighs 125 lbs. Should he go with the 2014 model XL1 or the MAKO l? bill2245
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) features a two-piece composite design with an end-loaded swing weight. The 2015 Easton MAKO XL Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MKX) is the 2015 version of the XL1. The MAKO XL features an updated composite construction, but in terms of performance both of these bats will be very similar.

Do you have this model in a 29" 19 oz. model? What is the 2015 version of the XL1? tj
Unfortunately, we do not currently have the Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) in a 29" 19 oz. model. For 2015, the XL1 was replaced by the 2015 Easton MAKO XL Youth Baseball Bat (YB15MKX) in the 2 1/4" barrel only.

Does this bat come in a 29 inch? Donna
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) use to come in a 29 inch but we no longer have this bat in stock and will not be getting anymore.

Is the XL1 for a power hitter or non power hitter? I weigh 80 pounds and about 61 inches tall. Is this the bat for me or should I go with the MAKO? Nike Baseball
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) features a slightly end loaded swing weight, which tends to be preferred by a power hitter. The MAKO features a balanced swing weight, which is generally preferred by a contact hitter looking to work on bat speed and bat control. The best bat for you will be the one that compliments your hitting style. So if you are more of a contact hitter, I would recommend the MAKO. If you hit more for power, I would say the XL1 would be the better choice but ultimately, it will be a matter of preference.
Tessa
I'm a contact hitter, do you think I should get the S1 or Mako? jack
The Easton XL1 Youth Baseball Bat (YB14X1) is going to be designed for a power hitter. While the Easton Mako and Easton S1 are both designed for a contact hitter.
