Description

The hottest bat in slow pitch softball just got hotter! Regarded as one of the most technologically advanced bats on the field, the Z-3000 brings its S1iD Technology back to the diamond and pairs it with Louisville Slugger's new Tru3 Technology. This first ever 3-piece technology was created to strengthen the link between the barrel and handle, and give the Z-3000 a trampoline spring and dramatically reduced vibration on contact. This straighter, thicker rubber ring results in a bat that's not only sturdier, but feels better with every swing! The three-piece Z-3000 is built entirely from Louisville Slugger's 360 Composite. This thinner, high-strength, and lightweight composite is made from graphite fibers that allow more durability, while reducing overall wall thickness. Inside the barrel, SWING 1 inner Disc (S1iD) Technology allows the walls to flex to their maximum allowable level... even on the first swing! S1iD means that you get a larger, higher performing sweet spot right out of the wrapper! The Z-3000 features an end-loaded 12 inch pro-style barrel and a 7/8 inch standard handle with a newly designed synthetic grip for an outstanding feel. Louisville Slugger: Champions Swing Slugger! The Z-3000 is approved for play in USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. It is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Free Shipping!

Excellent Bat Davenport player

Pros: The Z-3000 Slow Pitch softball bat was definitely worth the wait. I took it strait out the wrapper and was hitting 330'+ shots off a tee with some old Dudley Thunder ZN. The sweet spot on this bat seems massive and the new Tru3 technology virtually eliminates vibration without compromising the ability to feel where you hit the ball on the bat. I'm very happy I decided to get the Z-3000 and I recommend this bat to anyone who takes slow pitch softball seriously.

Cons: None - I'm 100% satisfied

Pros: bat was incredibly hott,, but only for about 30 swings and it cracked.... balls and bat were above 60 degrees,, so cold wasn't an issue

Cons: there are some clunkers in the batch,,, some will last,, some will crack,,, same as z2000 ri,,, they haven't completely fixed the durability issue yet!!

strong zen devil player

Pros: good pop out of the wrapper but really opens somewhere after 150 hits. I'm a hard line drive switch hitter who plays 3 to four nights a week and without trying popped out my first home run in over 2 years. let me make it clear that I haven't been using some cheap whole sale team supplied bats either. This bat out preforms any demarini or worth that I've swung lately. I have the 27oz model and it feels just a little bit heavier than my 27oz demarini stadium and threw me off for just the first couple of swings but now after having a few weeks with it I can say its the best bat I've swung for some time i'm a true fan. no one will be disappointed picking up this one.

Cons: everyone on your team will want to use it there is a seam on the graphic wrap over the bat that i'm afraid with time may start to peel but no issues as of yet, this might just be me being paranoid.

Dissapointed Deano992 player

Pros: Feels great no painful vibration if miss hit. It comes fairly hot out of the wrapper.

Cons: Broke after 24 games with only me using. This was pointed out online as possible weak link. Store where I bought has been waiting 2 months already for next shipment from Louisville and no date of arrival yet. When you spend money on product and can't get replacement anytime soon makes this guy want to stay clear of product.

Great Bat! Slowpitch guy player

Pros: This is a great bat and has great pop right out of the wrapper. I am by no means a power hitter but I was hitting junk gold dots 300 feet off of a tee. This bat has a true balanced feel. I have swung the Z2000 since it came out and have the same weight for this bat and it feels a little lighter. The three piece seems to eliminate the drag of the bat through the zone for a smoother swing. If this bat holds up as well as my old z2000 has, Louisville has outdone themselves with this bat. Also I love the white camo design with red lettering

Cons: None. I love this bat so far

Surprisingly great! GoGetIt! player

Pros: I can honestly say that my first time swinging my z3000-balanced was in a tournament fresh out the wrapper....no bp at all!! (Although I wouldn't recommend that;-)) Now just so you know I am not a homerun guy in any sense (I'm only 5'7"-180lbs)! In fact the last HR I hit was 3 years ago! My first cut cleared the 300' fence easily on a line and have been hitting lasers ever sense! I love the grip and the feel of it through the zone, no drag at all! It took about 25-30 solid cuts on all sides to really start opening up but this bat is just stupid sick after that!!!

Cons: The initial sound off impact is different from other brands that are popular but that's it!

Another bat to add to the bag rjw player

Pros: I bought this bat at 26 oz. for the girls on my coed team and they absolutely love this bat. All five have started using it and have been hitting it to the fence (300 ft) with regularity. I decided to give it a try because usually I use my stadium or psycho that are heavier, but this bat hits just as well as both of those bats do and I now know why they love it so much. Love the feel of the swing through the zone and the contact off the bat feels great.

Cons: I don't have any cons yet. I've heard quite a few say they break easily, but we've played 10 games with it and it's probably at 150 hits and still going strong.

Cons: It takes some time to break in. 75 - 100 hits.

I am a combat guy mainly, but am looking to switch to the Louisville line. I still have a couple Combat Avarice's left in my arsenal and they are 26oz. I know they are a light end load, so I have considered purchasing the balanced version of the slugger over the end load. Would it be fair to say that a 27oz balanced would be as close to the combat swing weight as I could get? (In the z3000 line) Brandon
If you're looking to buy the bat now, yes. This 2014 Louisville Slugger Z-3000 Balanced (SBZ314-UB) Slow Pitch bat would offer a very balanced swing weight, but it would still be an ounce heavier than what you are using. This Z-3000 is produced in the 26 oz. size, but we just currently do not have them in stock. If you'd like to wait for the 26 oz. to come back in stock, that would be my recommendation.

How will this bat perform with the 375 compression .44 core and 400 compression .44 core balls? lluccous
The Louisville Slugger Z-3000 Balanced USSSA Slow Pitch Softball Bat (SBZ314-UB) is intended to hit either Classic M (.40 Core 325 compression) or Classic M+ (.52 Core 275 compression) balls. Any other type of ball can cause damage to the bat that would shorten the lifespan. I am not familiar with .44 core 400 compression balls but .44 core 375 compression balls are old ASA models. Only older ASA stamped bats are meant for those balls as all leagues have tried to go to a softer type for safety reasons.

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
