Nice bat LLWS Player player
Pros: Good feel Fast Swing Speed
Cons: Little pop -5 XL1 has much more pop
Combat bat Rafael coach
Pros: great bat with good pop and very well balanced for those adjusting from drop -10 to drop -5.
Cons: Lizard skin bat tape, this is only for those do not use batting gloves. it is so tacky that it rips your batting gloves very quick.
Awesome bat!!! Marco parent
Pros: My 13U son is 5'6" 105 pounds, hits for both power /contact depending on the count. He is transitioning to -3, so I bought this for batting practice thinking he wouldn't be able to swing it during a game. He got this COMBAT bat and he is crushing the ball. The bat is well balanced, and feels only slightly heavier than his -8. Huge barrel (bigger than the XL1) and no sting at all. The graphics are nice and the bat looks great. This is his new game bat and he is really excited about the -5. We tried the XL1 and the Mako Torque during a demo session, and you can feel the XL1 is less balanced than the COMBAT and the Torque doesn't have as much pop. The Lizard skin is great, we tried both bare handed and with gloves and did pretty well. Finally, as a composite bat, the COMBAT needs to be broken in. The pop out of the wrapper was good enough, and after 250 hits, it frankly doesn't seem to improve much. Not sure if it needs more break-in, but we love it just the way it is.
Cons: The yellow grip gets dirty (but it can be cleaned). We took it out and replaced with a similar Lizard skins black grip. The bat looks even better with the black rather than with the yellow grip.
DO NOT GET THIS BAT! Dylan RBA player
Pros: Great pop for the first week....
Cons: I bought this bat a week ago and used it in one tourny. The next day I have indoor practice and when I use it on the tee i noticed the sound was deformed and it wasnt getting any of the pop it had the past week. I continued to use the bat live and it's performing horrid. So I picked up my -3 rip it im hitting the ball 2x better. DO NOT BUT THIS BAT..unless you wanna use it for one week.

Simply amazed !! Peanut player
Pros: At first i was kinda thinking the bat was trash . But after about 300 swings on the field ... WOW this bat is hot !!!! I have swung both the xl1 -5 and this and for this bat to be as balances as it is it had more pop than the xl1... And the feeling and sound if you making hard contact is perfect .. REALLY RECOMENT THIS BAT ... If you were kinda iffy about this bat you should indeed get it .
Cons: Nothing at all

My son is going to play 14U which requires a -5 bat in most tournaments, but for Triple Crown it requires a -3. He's 5'4" and 125 lbs. He has previously used a -8 portent this year (30/22). Do you recommend staying with 30" or going to 31" in -5 and -3? I don't see many bats in a 30", -3 of any brand. JDS
