Pros: It didn't break

Cons: This bat swings and feels just like last year's Attack. I am very disappointed and will be switching to something else soon.

Louisville Slugget Prime 915 Jordan Brochin player

Pros: This bat has many likeable features. It provides unbelieveable power. The full composite material allows for a bigger sweet spot than aluminum bat. I have done a lot of research on this bat, and I do believe it an be a real contender to the new 2015 models of Easton. Louisville Slugger is definetely taking a step foward woth this new piece of technogy.

Cons: Nothing

VERY IMPROVED High School Baseball Player player

Pros: **THIS BAT IS NOTHING LIKE LAST YEARS ATTACK.** The swing weight on this one is a bit more end weighted to make a perfect swing. Last year and the before were quite balanced. You get god power from this bat but they're more like bombs that go thirty feet over.. not necessarily hard, back-spin line drives. Which is a shame:( I'm a power hitter and i highly recommend this bat or ANY rawlings bat (besides the mach ...) or the Easton s1. In Conclusion, Ive tried every bat you could imagine you gotta go big or go home or you'll be stuck with a bat you won't be too happy with. GET THIS BAT.

Cons: not a thing.

we shall see Mikeymikeandthestrosbunch parent

Pros: My son hit this for the first time yesterday and he likes it. it is nothing like the attack models and even though it is somewhat balanced it is a little end loaded so will take some cuts to adjust. The sweet spot is bigger than in the attack and when hit flush the ball jumps off!

Cons: although not a huge problem the bat is not as balanced as advertised but anyone who has swung an XL1 can make the adjustment. Hoping that this doesnt break in the first 2 months like the attack did, considering the hassle that LS gave us trying to claim the warranty, but we shall see.....

Awesome Stick Phil player

Pros: This is an amazing bat. I've had a DeMarini or Easton in my bag since LL. Saw this bat in last year's College World Series and could wait to swing one. Tried the CF7 before committing to the 915. CF7 has great feel, DeMarini make great products. I found the 915 had more pop and was perfect for myself -- contact hitter.

Cons: The only con is price but it is priced in the same range as all other high end BBCOR bats.

Best Bat Yet!! Jonathan Krueger player

Pros: Excellent pop and to me it seems very balanced. The swing weight is well distributed throughout the entire bat which is beneficial for those who like the end load but still maintaining quick hands. 3 piece design as well is new to the constant changing game and its the best innovation by far. The 3 piece design sure does reduce the vibration as well. The graphics on the bat makes it that much better! Great job Louisville!!

Cons: None that I can see so far.

Not for power Hitters Scientific parent

Pros: Great feel- Looks great - All in all a good bat. The kids currently using it and like it the best are contact hitters. They say they are getting more distance and power from this bat.

Cons: My son is a power hitter and can get more from his wood bat than this one. Other power hitters on the team say the bat seems dead to them as well. Seems as though the harder you hit it the more the bat absorbs therefore less ball velocity. It has had adequate break in time. We will continue using it for awhile while we decide on another bat. Nowhere near the pop of the previous model which had great pop (330' to 400' bombs).

Amazing bat!! Bryce Strawderman player

Pros: This bat is a great bat! I just bought it and it has amazing pop! The ball flies off of it and has amazing carry! It is just the perfect amount of mass and speed throught the zone for anybody! I have tried the rip it helium and the Easton s1 and neither of them even close to compare to this bat!! No matter the size! It is worth every penny that I paid for it! HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!

Cons: The bat feel like it rotates a little bit and my teammates said the same thing, but it is still the perfect bat for any high school or college player! It doesn't bother me at all anymore since I got used to it! Buy this bat!

Pop pop pop Toroball player

Pros: Honestly the most pop in any composite bat I have ever swung. Took BP one time with it and I could feel the stiff flex handle and the barrel just came through the zone. Slight end-load for some power hitters like me. I swing the 2013 demarini voodoo and the ball just flies off of that bat, but honestly I think this Prime has more pop. And LOVE the three piece handle design!

Cons: Pricy and grip is very thick and slippery

Awesome Bat Andrew W player

Pros: This bat is nothing like anything I have swung before. I am a contact hitter who hits mainly singles and doubles. The ball flys off this bat like nothing you have ever seen before. I hit my first home run last night on a liner that cleared the fence by 10 ft. This bat is almost incomparable to other bats. Louisville Slugger has once again out done the competitors by a long shot.

Defective, returned, no bat two weeks later Jeff S parent

Pros: I bought my son this louisville slugger prime 915 bat. After a couple of weeks it came loose where the handle and barrel meet. I returned it and followed the instructions. I have no bat, and I cannot get Louisville slugger to return any of my emails, or reply to the messsages I have left for the warranty department. After two weeks I feel I bought an expensive defective bat that was not warrantied, and they kept the bat I sent them. Nothing in return yet.

Cons: Defective bat, warranty department is very difficult to contact.

My Louisville 915 Experience Stephen R. Serfass parent

Pros: A sorely lacking Louisville Slugger customer service experience

Cons: In April this year I purchased a Prime 915. 4/8/15 Order #3073954988 When it arrived my 14U son said it didn't feel right. Note...you could twist the barrel and it felt like something's loose 5/19 I called Customer Service several times....voice mailbox full. I eventually talk to warranty service. 5/29 I receive an email from LS bat is defective use RA #60494853 When I take the return package to Fed EX it does NOT include shipping! $400 bat is defective and I have to pay to ship it??? I call 1800 282-BATS and get a person. "We don't pay for return shipping" The following week I received a 2016 916 Model from LS. 300 swings later the barrel on it started twisting and something is loose. Called warranty service 7 times and got "voice mailbox full" message. I was able to eventually get a full refund including shipping. My son is now swinging a competitors bat.

prime 915 Baseball Dad parent

Pros: Looks good.

Cons: Little pop compared to the Demarini. My son used it for a season, ball just didn't seem to go anywhere. Took him hitting with Demarini and the Prime and he got easily 20-30 more feet with Demarini. He said Prime just feels dead.

Solid Bat Josh Leslie player

Pros: The bat is an overall solid bat that has quite a bit of pop. After having borrowed my teamates 915 for a few games I knew it would be a good fit for me considering that I am a 4 hole power hitter that likes some end load but not too much. The bat feels similar to an XL1 which I had used for a couple of years and liked, but I wanted to try these new Louisville bats and I will see how it goes.

Cons: Nothing so far.

Patrick
Would this bat or the Rip it Air Elite 2015 be better suited for my style of play? I am 15 years old and weigh 125 pounds. I am a contact hitter. mrstealyobase
Both the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) and the 2015 RIP-IT BBCOR AIR Elite (B1503E) would be good options. The elite would feature an alloy barrel and the Prime will feature a composite barrel. The preference between the two would be based off of what style you like better.
Patrick
Is this bat pretty much the new version of the 2014 Attack? And does it have the similar "new technology" to the Easton MAKO? bl
This 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) would be most similar to the Attack models from previous product lines with the two-piece composite construction and balanced swing weight. It is also similar to the MAKO in that it offers a large sweet spot and balanced feel.

Cooper
I am stuck choosing between the Prime 915 and the new DeMarini Overlord 2015. I am looking for fairly balanced bat. Which should I get? jjh
If you are looking for a balanced bat, I would go with the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153). The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR (DXVDC) is a great model but has an end-loaded feel.
Patrick
Does this bat have a composite barrel? 5678
Yes, the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR: (BBP9153) will have a composite barrel, and handle.
Merritt
How long is the barrel? clayton
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) will have an average barrel length. It will be very similar to the previous model year as the Slugger TPX Attack.
Brandon
Can this bat compare to the Easton Mako, the Demarini CF6, or the upcoming Demarini CF7? Brendan
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) is a two piece full composite design so it is going to be very comparable to the Easton MAKO, and the DeMarini CF6 and CF7.
Cooper
Would you prefer this bat or the MAKO? Brendan
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) and the MAKO are both very comparable bats. They are both fully composite bats with balanced swing weights. It is usually suggested to stick with the manufacturer you have had the most success with in the past.
Jason
Is there anything different from the attack to this bat besides the paint color and name? Bob
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) is going to have a different grip but other than that they will be pretty much the same bat. They are still using the same composite as the Louisville Slugger Attack.
Cooper
Does the Prime 915 BBCOR or the CF7 BBCOR fit contact hitters better? Baseball ninja
Both the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 are going to be well balanced two-piece composite bats. That being said, both should fit the swing of a contact hitter very well.
Marcus
Does the prime 915 or cf7 fit me better? I am a contact hitter. I'm looking for a balanced, lightswing without giving up pop or barrel size? (bbcor) Josh
Both, the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) and the 2015 DeMarini CF7 would be good for a hitter like yourself. They are both going to be very balanced bats that are directed towards a contact hitter.
Cooper
What is the difference between the Prime 915, and the Select 715? Chief
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR (BBP9153) will be a 100% composite design. The Select 715 will be a half and half design. It will feature a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Both bats will be very balanced in swing weight.
Brandon
Will this bat need be be "broken in" being it is a composite bat? cespedes
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will require a brief break-in period to get the composite material loose to maximize the trampoline effect.
Patrick
I'm a power hitter, and I like a bat with a little bit of weight, but not too much. Will this bat be good for me? How does it compare to the barrel on the Easton XL1? lababa
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BBP9153) will have a similar barrel and two-piece composite design. However, the biggest difference will ultimately come down to the weight distribution. This model is going to be more balanced than the 2014 Easton XL1 BBCOR Baseball Bat: (BB14X1).
Merritt
Why is the this bat more expensive than the Select 715? Which one is the better bat? jake
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 (BBP9153) is a two piece fully composite bat. Fully composite bats take more to manufacturer than alloy bats like the Louisville Slugger Select 715. Both models will have similar performance. It really comes down to preference of material for the hitter as to which model is the best.
Kelby
Which bat will feel lighter, the Prime 915 or the Select 715? This is going to be my first time using a -3 bat. Jake
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153) will both feel very light. One will not feel lighter than the other,
Sean
what is the best out of the prime, the select, and the omaha for 2015 bats? sean bartro
Neither bat has been proven to outperform the other, and they are all three capped in performance by the BBCOR certification. Any difference in performance would come down to the hitters preference toward either the fully composite design of the Prime 915 (BBP9153), the hybrid design of the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR or the fully alloy design of the Louisville Slugger Omaha BBCOR.
Sean
Which bat has more pop and a bigger sweet spot the Z-1000 or 915 Prime? Bull
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will have a larger sweet spot and better performance compared the the older Z-1000 bat.
Brandon
Does this bat have the same sized sweet spot as the Attack? jimmy whe
Yes, the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) does have the same sized barrel as the 2014 Louisville Slugger Attack. Those two bats will have the same design since the Prime 915 is the bat that replaced the Attack.
Cooper
Does this bat have more pop than the Voodoo Overlord? llsmoothayy
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the 2014 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have the same maximum performance level that is allowed under BBCOR restrictions. If swung well, the end-loaded design of the OVERLORD could potentially lead to more power production but it will be more difficult to swing than the balanced PRIME.
Patrick
Is this bat a 2 piece or 3 piece? BZ
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is a three-piece full composite bat.
Cooper
What are the differences between the 915 Prime and the COMBAT Portent G3? Which would be better for a contact hitter? PH
Ultimately, the main difference in design between the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the COMBAT Portent G3 (PG3AB103) is the one-piece design of the G3 compared to the three-piece design of the Prime 915. Both are very balanced, which is the design we recommend for a contact hitter, but choosing between a one-piece bat and two/three-piece bat comes down to personal preference. Contact hitters can use both designs effectively.
Mac
What bat is better for me? I am 5'6'' and 115 lbs. I am going into high school. I like bats with lots of pop and bat speed. I need a balanced bat! batrick
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) would be a great choice. The balanced swing makes this bat a great option to work on bat speed and bat control. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 30" model.
Tessa
Of the three new Louisville Slugger bats, what bat do you believe would be the best for hard line drives into the outfield or hard shots through the infield holes? I'm not a power hitter but need good contact and quick swing. schullzy8
The new line of Louisville Slugger bats like the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153), and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) will all be more balanced designs so they will have similar swing weights. The two-piece designs featured on the Prime and the Select would help create a whipping motion with the bat that could help to increase bat speed and help with power for a contact hitter.
Patrick
Is this bat similar at all to the Easton S1? Jimmy
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will share many design features with the 2014 Easton S1 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB14S1). They both are two-piece composite designs with balanced swing weights.
Patrick
What is the difference between this bat and the other two new Louisville slugger bats? baseball heaven
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 (BBP9153) is a two piece fully composite bat. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 (BBS7153) is a two piece bat with an alloy barrel and a composite handle. The Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 (BBO5153) is a one piece fully alloy design.

Since the Prime 915 is an all composite build, will it be more durable than the DeMarini CF6? Niroc
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) has a fully composite design just like the DeMarini CF6. The durability on both bats will be very similar.
Jason
Which bat would you recommend: the 915 or 2015 Easton XL1? Kid Clutch
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is a two-piece fully composite bat with a balanced swing weight. The Prime 915 is typically better for a contact hitter. The Easton XL1 is a two-piece fully composite bat with an end loaded swing weight. The XL1 is typically better for power hitters.
Jason
How does this bat compare in performance to the Easton Mako BBCOR?? AAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Both the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the MAKO are pretty well balanced BBCOR model bats so they will have similar feeling swing weight. The BBCOR certifications on all these bats also limits the performance or "pop" that the bats are capable of; because of this, factors such as sweet spot size and feel at contact are often the biggest difference between bat models.
Tessa
What does the 30 Day Performance Guarantee mean? rob
The 30 Day Performance Guarantee for the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) means that you can actually try the bat out for 30 days. If for any reason, it does not meet your expectations, you can return it back to Louisville Slugger for a full refund or exchange.
Tessa
What are the differences between the Prime 915 and DeMarini CF7? baseballkid
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the DeMarini CF7 are very similar bats. They are both two-piece composite bats with balanced swing weight. The big differences is the Tru-3 Technology and the D-Fusion handle. The Tru-3 Technology on the Prime 915 helps increase the trampoline affect of the bat. The D-Fusion handle helps eliminate vibration and extend the sweet spot.
Jason
Which bat would have more pop: the Louisville Slugger Prime 915 or the Easton MAKO? High school player
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the Easton MAKO are two very comparable bats. It is tough to say that one will have more pop than the other because they are both capped with the BBCOR .50 certification stamp. Both bats will have similar performance, it really comes down to preference in manufacturer to determine which bat is best for you.
Jason
I was looking for a bat that has a lot of pop, but has a light swing. Would this bat work for me? I am also 5'9" 145 lbs. What size should I get? ehbebe21
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is a very balanced bat with a light swing weight. It would be a great option for what you are looking for. Based on your height and weight, we suggest a 32" model.
Jason
When I hit the knob of the end is it suppose to make a thud noise? Also, when I drop the bat it makes a bad sound? What should I do with it? Zach_ary874
Tapping or dropping the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and listening to the sound is not a good indication of whether there are any issues with the bat. If there is a severe drop off in the performance after the bat has been broken in, then you may want to send it to Louisville Slugger to have it inspected to see if there are any problems. That is the only way to be sure.
Patrick
Can you use it in very cold temperatures? raytw
We do not recommend using any bat, including the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) in temperatures below 55 degrees. In the colder temperatures, the fibers in the ball get more dense, which can cause more damage to the barrel of the bat. We recommend using older bats or wood bats in the lower temperatures.
Tessa
What would be the safe way to break in a composite bat? I have a Louisville Slugger Prime 915. zeco
The safe way to break in the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is to hit the bat in the batting cage 150-200 times, rotating it a quarter of an inch on each swing.
Frankie
I am a power hitter and I am stuck between the Easton S1 and the Prime. My concern with the S1 is that it is not very durable. Which would be a better fit for me? ferny
The Easton S1 is a good bat with good reviews, however, Louisville Slugger offers a 30-Day Performance Promise, so if you don't like the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) you can send it back. It comes down to what you feel most comfortable and confident in.
Allison
I'm more of a contact hitter and I'm stuck between the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR bat. Which would be better for me? Jamison
Both are great balanced bats for contact hitters, yet some players have said the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) has a slightly end-loaded feel. However, the Prime comes with a 30 Day Performance Promise, so if you went with the Prime and decided otherwise in 30 days, you can send it back.
Chinyere
What is the difference between this bat and the older red and white version of the Louisville Slugger Attack? etdoubleu39
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) and the 2014 Attack are practically the same bat. The only real differences are the name change and cosmetic appearance.
Jason
Witch out of the the 3 louisville bats is best for a power hitter? Luca
While all the new Louisville Slugger bats like the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153), or the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) are able to be used by power hitter style players, the more end-loaded feel of the Select 715 would probably be the best fit for a true power hitter.
Patrick
I saw these bats at Nationals Tournament in Kentucky this past July. The person at the booth told me that the 515, 715 and 915 Prime would all be good cold weather bats. We live in Michigan and my son will be playing high school baseball this spring. There is a chance that they will have games and/or practices below freezing. I read an answer on here about cold weather and it was recommended not to use the bat below 55°. Paul
While the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is an excellent bat, using it in temperatures much below 50 degrees for an extended period of time will negatively impact the bat. When it gets cold the baseball actually becomes much denser and harder and the bat walls aren't meant to handle the denser baseball. It's recommended to not use your game bat for hitting practice if you will be outside in cold temperatures.
Jake
I had a 2012 Louisville EXOGRID 2. I'm looking for a new bat and wondering since I loved the EXOGRID 2 if would I like this bat? MatttheBomb
The EXOGRID Series and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will have different feels to them based upon their difference in construction. The EXOGRID will be a single-piece, all alloy model with composite inserts while the Prime 915 will be a two-piece, all composite model. I would suggest looking at the Louisville Slugger EXOGRID 3 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB13EX) if you're wanting to match the feel of the EXOGRID 2.
Ben
My son is looking for a new bat. He weighs 125 pounds and is 5'3". Should he get a 31 or 32 inch bat? Jack
For the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), our bat coach actually recommends a 31" 28 ounce model for a player of that size.
Joe
My son is 17 years old. He is 6'2" and 165lbs. He used a 32" last year, I was going to get him a 33" this year, or should I go with 34" Prime? Cojo
For a player of his size, our bat coach is recommending a 33" 30 oz. model of the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153). Depending on how much larger he gets, you could definitely consider the 34" model as well.
Joe
Is the Prime 915 more balanced than the Easton XL1? robby
Yes, the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP913) is more balanced than the Easton XL1.
John
I am thinking about ordering this bat for my son, he is 5 foot 9 inches and is 147 pounds. What size bat should he swing? mr.Campbell
I recommend getting the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) in a 32 inch.
Frankie
I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 145 pounds. I am looking for a new bat. I had an Easton S2 and Axe Elite, but I am wondering which bat to get between the Prime, Omaha, or Select. I am a contact hitter and don't want to ruin that. Which bat would you recommend for a player like me? Chase
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), the 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153) and the 2015 Louisville Slugger Omaha 515 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBO5153) are all nice options for a contact hitter to use with success. The Prime 915 and the Select 715 would have the most similar feel to what you had been using in the S2 and Axe Elite with the Select 715 being the most similar because it is a hybrid design.
Patrick
I am 6'3" and weigh 225 lbs. I am a power hitter who can also hit for contact. Last year I used my friends Louisville Slugger Attack. What bat should I get this year? jeff
It is typically best to stick with similar bats to what you have had success with in the past. If you had success with the Attack last year, then the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) would be an excellent option to consider for this year. If you are looking for a little heavier bat to increase your power a little more, then you might want to consider the Select 715. The Select 715 has a slight more end loaded design. Based on your height and weight, we recommend a 34" model.
Jason
I am 5 foot 5 and weigh 140 pounds and I am looking at this bat to buy. What size should I get? blake
Based on your height and weight, I would say that the 31 inch model would fit well.
Patrick
I am 5'9" and weigh 175 lbs. What bat size would you recommend for me? Kei
Using the bat coach feature on our website, I would suggest going with the 32" 29 oz. 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153).
Liz
Is this bat more durable than the Attack bat? Nate
The composite material on the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) should have slightly better durability than the design on the Louisville Slugger Attack BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBAT14-RR).
Patrick
Which is a better bat for power? The prime or the select 715? Noah Whitten
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) features a three piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7153) features a three piece hybrid design with a composite handle and an alloy barrel. Additionally, it does have a slightly end-loaded swing weight. Typically we recommend a balanced model for contact hitters, and an end-loaded model such as the Select 715 for power hitters.
Joe
Which would you recommend for a contact hitter and for a power hitter: 2015 Louisville Slugger 915 Prime, 2015 Demarini Voodoo Overlord FT, Easton 2015 MAKO, and the 2015 Rawlings Velo? Matty
For a contact hitter I would recommend the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153), the 2015 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBRVB) and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK). For a power hitter I would recommend the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC).
Frankie
How does the Prime compare to the CF7? I am more of a contact hitter than power. Sammy
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will feature a similar composite design and balanced swing weight to the 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC). The Prime is a three-piece model that performs just like the two-piece CF7. I am a fan of the D-Fusion handle on the CF7 that does a great job of largely absorbing most of the shock and vibration traveling through the bat. However, the Prime does carry a 30 day guarantee that allows you to hit with it for up to a month.
Joe
I am 5'10" and 155 pounds. Last year I used both the 2014 attack and the Easton XL1 in a drop 5 on both models. I am a contact hitter with plenty of power. Would the Prime 915 be a good option? If so what size? Ralph
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) replaced the Attack in Louisville's 2015 lineup. It features a three piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight.
Joe
Can we use batting cage balls to break the bat in or to hit in general? John
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is not a good bat to use in the batting cage with cage balls. You will want to stick to using standard baseballs with the Prime 915. This will provide you with the longest lifespan and durability.
Jason
Will this bat have more pop than the OVERLORD FT because of its composite barrel? T
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will not out perform the OVERLORD FT. There is nothing out there that shows composite outperforms alloy. It ultimately depends on what type of hitter you are to determine which bat will perform the best for you. The OVERLORD FT has an end loaded swing weight and is typically best for power hitters. The Prime 915 has a balanced swing weight and is usually best for contact hitters.
Jason
What would you recommend when considering the 915 or the CF7? We are really torn between the two for my 14 yr old ? Brodi
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will feature a three piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. For all practical purposes, it will perform like a two-piece model. Additionally, it does offer a 30 day trial period on it. The 2015 DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXCFC) features a two piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight. Additionally, it offers the D-Fusion handle, which does a great job of absorbing any shock and vibration. The performance will be very similar between the two. You could definitely consider trying the Prime under the 30 day trial, and then exchanging for the CF7.
Joe
What size bat would you suggest? I am a 15 year old who is 5 foot 5 and weighs about 135 pounds. BSBF
Based on height and weight, we would suggest a 31 inch size of the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153).

Tom
I am 5' 9" and 155 lbs. What size bat should I use? joe

For a player of your size, our bat coach would recommend the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) in a 33" 30 oz. model. Since it does carry the 30 Day trial period, you could try the 33" model and if it felt too heavy, we would be happy to exchange it for another model.

The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will carry a 30 day trial period that allows you to use the bat for up to 30 days. If at any point during that time, you don't like the bat, you can exchange the purchase price for any other model from any manufacturer.
Joe
My son has had a lot of success with the Easton XL1 in the last few years, would you recommend this or the Easton XL1 for him in BBCOR? tc baseball
I would recommend getting the Easton XL1 because that bat is going to be end loaded and designed for a power hitter. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is going to be a evenly balanced bat that is going to be designed for contact hitters.
Frankie
Between this bat and the DeMarini Voodoo Overlord which bat is going to have a larger barrel? Also, I am a contact hitter, which one would be better for me? juan
The 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is going to have an extended barrel but it will be end loaded and designed for a power hitter. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is not going to have an extended barrel, but this will be a balanced bat designed for a contact hitter.
Frankie
I recently purchased the Louisville Slugger 915 and 715. Is there a break in period for either bat? Doug
The 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) will require a break in period of 150 - 200 swings rotating the barrel at a 1/4 of an inch each swing to break the bat in evenly. The 2015 Louisville Slugger Select 715 will not require a break in period.
Frankie
I'm 5 foot 10 inches and weigh 170 pounds, what size bat would you recommend? chad

Joe

Based on his height and weight I would recommend getting a 33 inch. Also, the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153) is going to have a more balanced swing weight, and is going to be composite material that is going to take 150-200 swings to break the bat in. The Easton XL3 is going to have an end loaded swing weight, and it is going to be a one piece alloy bat that is going to be ready right when you receive the bat.
Frankie
I'm 120 pounds and 5'6". What size should I purchase? juan lagaras
Based on your height in weight, we would recommend a 30" bat. However, we do not have a 30" model available for the 2015 Louisville Slugger Prime 915 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBP9153).

About the Brand

In 1842, J. Frederick Hillerich emigrated with his family from Baden-Baden, Germany to the United States. Eight years before, the 1834 Book of Sports had made its debut as the nation's first publication covering baseball. But when he arrived in Baltimore, J. Frederick Hillerich would never have dreamed of the future impact his family would have on America's favorite pastime.

After a short while, the Hillerichs moved to Louisville, where J. Fred started a woodworking shop in 1856. Two of his sons, Adam and John Andrew "Bud" were born in the United States and would later join their father in his business. By 1864 "J.F. Hillerich, Job Turning" was in operation and filled orders for businesses by custom-turning everything from balusters to bedposts.

The firm thrived, and by 1875 the little woodworking shop employed about 20 people. In 1880 Bud Hillerich, who was an amateur baseball player, became an apprentice in his father's shop. Young Bud made his own baseball bats along with bats for several of his teammates.

The debate over the origins of the first bat continues to generate controversy among baseball enthusiasts, but the younger Hillerich was most certainly involved in getting his father's business involved with what would become the company's signature item. According to company legend, the first bat was turned by Bud for Pete "The Old Gladiator" Browning in 1884. Browning was a star on Louisville's professional American Association team - the Eclipse. On a spring afternoon Bud, then seventeen, witnessed Browning break his favorite bat. Bud offered to make a bat for his hero, and Browning accepted. After the young wood shop apprentice lathed a quality stick from white ash, according to the story, Browning got three hits with it in the next game.

Louisville Slugger gloves are worn by more pitchers in Major League Baseball than any other glove.
