There is no defect associated with the Portent G4. In comparison to the MAXUM, The MAXUM features 20 - 40% more hitting surface and a 500 day manufacturer's warranty

My recommendation would be this 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip (PG4SL110)! It is available in the 30"/20 oz size, it is currently under $200 in price and has a balanced swing weight. As well, our initial reviews for the bat have been really positive!

This 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip (PG4SL110) will have a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, a -10 length-to-weight ratio and USSSA 1.15 BPF certification. Therefore, it will be legal for use in the Shetland, Pinto, Mustang, Bronco and Pony divisions of Pony baseball.

Does this bat have a swing comparable to the MAKO? Big guy
This 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip (PG4SL110) will be all-composite like the MAKO, but it will have a single-piece design that allows for a stiff feel at contact. The MAKO is a two-piece bat and will provide more flex in the barrel at contact. Neither style is inherently better than the other, but players tend to prefer the stiff or flex feel more as they get older.

Is the COMBAT Portent G3 or G4 available in a 31" or 32" -5? Ray
The 2015 COMBAT Portent G3 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip: PG3SL105 and 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip: PG4SL105 were both manufactured in a 31" 26 oz. and 32" 27 oz. sizes. Unfortunately, we have completely sold out of these models. Sadly, COMBAT has discontinued them so we will not be receiving any more in stock.

What is the difference between the Vigor and the Portent? david
Unfortunately, COMBAT did not do a very good job of differentiating between their bats released in the past few years. Both this 2016 COMBAT Portent G4 Senior League Baseball Bat w/ Lizard Skin Grip (PG4SL110) and the Vigor will be one-piece, all-composite bats with long barrel lengths. In my opinion, the biggest difference between the bats is that the Vigor may feel a little more end-loaded when compared to the Portent.
