Description

Expect RAW POWER from the Most Popular Bat at the Collegiate Level - DeMarini Voodoo RAW.

There's a reason the DeMarini Voodoo has been the most popular choice at the NCAA D1 level for consecutive seasons. Everything about this bat is tailored specifically for the biggest and baddest hitters on the planet. The Voodoo RAW's massive barrel is forged from DeMarini's most responsive alloy yet - X12. Not only does this innovative material create a huge, forgiving sweet spot, but it creates the slightly end loaded swing weight that gives the Voodoo RAW its famous baseball-crushing power potential. That extra mass is strategically added into the hitting zone so that players can attack pitches with the most power possible. The newest addition to the Voodoo's frame this year would be the D-Fusion 2.0 technology. An extra-stiff flex is created at the joint connecting this hybrid's alloy barrel to its composite handle. End loaded swing weight and stiff flex = the exact recipe you need for the biggest sky-scraping moonshots. With the new Voodoo RAW, simply throw your hands, and watch it fly.

The DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: WTDXVDC features a 2 5/8" barrel diameter, -3 length to weight ratio, the BBCOR Certification for High School and Collegiate Play, and is backed by a Full Twelve (12) Month Manufacturer's Warranty. Great bat !!! Bear Hancock player

Pros: This bat is amazing overall. The feel, the pop, the durability, you name it. Personally I believe the thinner handle was a good idea because it gives you more control over the bat.

Cons: Thinner handle doesnt add protection when getting jammed. Ball will still fly off the bat though!

wow Ryan player

Pros: I had the chance to use my friends voodoo and let me tell you something, this bat looks freaking cool and its got the best pop of any bat i have ever swung. And its not just for power hitters. Contact hitters can get just enough out of it as the heavy ones. Everyone that has something bad to say about it is just jealous they don't have it. I am definitely getting one this christmas.

Cons: That i don't have one yet.

Player Noah player

Pros: Lots of pop, very end loaded, ball flies off the bat, handle is great size, and has a good feel. Overall like the bat.

Cons: The end cap popped off in my second game of the season. The warranty is a 1 year warranty and only 1 claim in that year and will take 7-10 days to get a replacement shipped out after they receive the defective bat. I have to pay for the shipping to Demarini and they will ship a replacement in 2 day shipping. Other companies email shipping label for warranty issues and overnight a replacement before they receive defecting bat. Will not purchase a Demarini again due to warranty. Overall rating is not 5 stars because of the customer service of Demarini.

Awesome bat Nick player

Pros: I got this bat for my birthday going into freshman year of high school and it's been great so far. This bat has great pop and everything I make contact with goes far even if I don't hit it very well. I'd recommend it to almost anyone. Also, lots of my teammates want to use it so beware!

Cons: I've felt a bit of sting from hitting balls off the end of it but nothing major. Also the grip is thin but it really isn't a big deal. I'd still very much recommend this bat.

Best bat you can buy #17 player

Pros: This bat has absolutely tremendous pop once you break it in. I went from hitting baseballs about 330 to 360 just by switching from my velo. It is a little end heavy so you have to get used to that. As well as the bat his almost no vibration, if you get cuffed there is no vibration to kill your hands.

Cons: The handle is too thin for my liking, but putting a lizard skin on fixes that right away. And the paint chips off the barrel pretty easily, and it marks up quickly.

Pros: This bat has so much pop. Just got it today and went to hit with it and was automatically greatly impressed with the pop straight out of the wrapper. Has a little flex when swinging but just the right amount to exchange the energy to the ball.

Great Bat Ray parent

Pros: We went to a Demo batting cage and hit about 6 different bats, composites, hybrids, balanced and end loaded. It really came down to the Mako XL or the Voodoo Raw. My son kept going back to the Raw stating that the feel of the ball coming off the bat was excellent. he also loved the sound it made with good contact. The bat does have alot of pop and very little to no vibration. You cant go wrong with this bat, I would say the best bat we swung. Ultimately he liked the feel and the looks of this bat over the Mako XL, but both are very nice bats. You would not think looks plays that much into it, but looking good is part of being confident as long as it takes the correct place behind performance. Good Job DeMarini, you have a new fan.

Cons: None Yet. My son loves it

Pros: has amazing pop especially for a non composite bat, has an end loaded feel which i personally love but know that before you buy it. i love the alloy sound it has to it. defenitely for power hitter thought. ive used it for a season and a half and ive noticed no difference other than the grip wearing down since it was brand new. i still plan on using it for a while.

Pros and Cons on the 2016 Voodoo Raw Jalen Simmons player

Pros: The bat is really strong and durable. Its one of the most durable bats i've ever owned and used. The endload on it helps when you are a power hitter.

Cons: The handle and the original grip on the bat are a little skinny and not that durable. I would suggest if you purchase this bat you also get a new grip tape to fit your preferences.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

Does this bat replace the Voodoo Overlord? Karl
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be DeMarini's 2016 replacement model for the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD. The Voodoo RAW will feature the hybrid design (alloy barrel and composite handle) and more end-loaded swing weight that was also present in the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD.
Ben
What is the difference between this and the Overlord from last year and the year before? Brian
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) features the new D-Fusion 2.0 technology which improves the feel of the bat and reduces sting or vibration to the hands. The D-Fusion 2.0 technology also allows for better energy transfer in the swing than previous model years of the bat.
Patrick
Is the barrel length the same between this and the 2015 model? Big sports guy 41
The barrel length of the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR (DXVDC) and the 2015 DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT (DXVDC) are going to be the same. It still features an extended barrel design with an end loaded swing weight.
Marcus
I'm 6'3" and weigh 195 lbs. I used a 33" last year. I don't want to go up to a 34", but want a little more length to reach the outside pitches. Would a 33.5" model be good? Big Jeff
Yes, if yo're wanting a little extra length to cover the outside corner, a 33.5" model of the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR (DXVDC) would work well for you.
Marcus
Is the BBCOR RAW 31" heavier than the 2015 Voodoo Overlord or feel heavier? Baseball dude
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a very similar swing weight compared to the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD FT. Both models will feature the same -3 length to weight ratio.
John
How does this bat compare to the Louisville Select 716? hunoldb3
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a design that is similar to this 2016 Louisville Slugger Select 716 BBCOR Baseball Bat (BBS7163) as both bats will have a two-piece, hybrid construction (alloy barrel and composite handle). As well, both bats will be slightly end-loaded and often preferred by hitters who consider themselves power hitters.
Ben
How long would you predict this bat will last? Jacob
Predicting a life span can be tough because it will depend on how much the bat is used and how it is cared for. Generally the life span of the Voodoo's will be around a season and a half to two seasons.
John
I am 5 foot 8 and weigh 160 pounds. I am a freshmen in high school. Would you prefer this bat for me or should I use the 2015 MAKO? I can't pick between the two. Dan
Both the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) and the 2015 Easton MAKO BBCOR Baseball Bat (BB15MK) would be nice options. The MAKO would be better if you like a balanced bat but if you like an end-loaded feel, the Voodoo RAW would be the way to go.
Patrick
What is the difference between the 2016 Voodoo RAW BBCOR and the 2016 CF7 BBCOR? jan
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be a two-piece hybrid design. It will feature an an alloy barrel with a composite handle and also have an end loaded swing weight. The CF7 BBCOR model will be a two-piece full composite design with a balanced swing weight.
John
I'm a 7th grader that has used an Easton S2 BBCOR last year. I am short, but big and strong. Do you think this bat would be to end loaded for me to handle? centerfield67
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will definitely feel more end heavy when compared to the Easton S2. If you think you can handle an end loaded bat, then the Voodoo RAW would work well for you.
Marcus
I am a 5 foot 9 sophomore in high school and I currently use the MAKO. I like it but I have not performed like I have in the past. I have used a Voodoo when I was younger and liked it. Should I go back to the Voodoo or find another bat? jack938
If you have liked the end-loaded feel of the Voodoo line in the past, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would possibly be a good choice for you. If the problems you are having with the MAKO are due to lagging bat speed, I would probably avoid the heavier swinging Voodoo for now and go with something more balanced.
Patrick
Which bat is more balanced and has better pop: the Voodoo RAW or CF8? Kodination
Between the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the DeMarini CF8 BBCOR, the CF8 is going to be the more balanced bat. The Voodoo RAW is an end loaded bat, so you may see more drive on the ball with it if you are able to get it around quickly enough.
Marcus
My son is 14.5, will be playing high school this year, he has to move to a drop 3. Last year he used the demarini voodoo overload, and handled it well drop 5. It was 32 inches long. He is 6 feet about 152 pounds, when he connects with the ball he is a power hitter, would you recommend the Demarini raw for him, and if so what length, I do not want it to be to heavy if he goes to the recommended 33 inches, but he is going from a drop 5 to 3 luds66
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) would be a great option to consider for your son as he enters high school and the BBCOR era. The end-loaded swing weight shouldn't be an issue for him as his previous bat (DeMarini Voodoo Overload) features the same end-loaded design. I would suggest looking at the Voodoo Raw in either the 32 inch 29 oz or in a 32.5 inch 29.5 oz. The 33 inch is probably best to start using his sophomore year.
Cameron
I just bought a voodoo OVERLORD. What is the difference between that and the RAW? I've been swinging -3 for a year now. Very strong, very powerful 5'9 180 pounds 8th grade. yard house
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features many things that the OVERLORD will not. The D-Fusion 2.0 Handle Technology which reduces vibration and redirects more energy into the ball, the extended barrel design with end loaded swing weight for power and carry, and the low pro end cap which optimizes weight, feel, and compression throughout the barrel are all features associated with the RAW that are not featured on the OVERLORD.
John
I heard that my bat will be damaged if I use dimple baseballs on my Voodoo RAW. Is that true? marcel the baller
Any of the bats we sell, including the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) can be damaged if they are used with the yellow dimpled cage balls used in some batting cages. These cage balls are different in terms of density and weight than a real baseball and they react differently with the barrel. The bats are finely tuned to react specifically with regulation baseballs so hitting anything else can damage the bat.
Patrick
I'm a big kid with lot of muscle, 5'8" 180 lbs. What bat size do you recommend to have a fast swing speed but still have a lot of pop? Also, what are the return policies? Colton Martinez
Based on your height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC in a 33 inch 30 ounce model. As for return policy, this bat could be return for a refund of purchase price or exchange for another model if it is unused. If this bat was in used condition it would not qualify for return or exchange.
Cameron
I'm 5'4 125 lbs. Not a very powerful hitter, more of an on base hitter. Would this bat or the CF8 be better for me? MaCrae
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature an end loaded swing weight and would be better for a power type hitter while the CF8 is going to feature a balanced swing weight. The balanced swing weight of the CF8 would be better for a contact hitter like yourself.
Cameron
How does the Overlord FT swing compared to the RAW? slugger
The DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature similar technologies thus their performance and swing will be very similar. The minor differences in these two bats would be the end cap (OVERLORD used a ION-V while the Voodoo used a low pro end cap) and the handles (OVERLORD has a D-Fusion FT while the Voodoo has the D-Fusion 2.0 - reduces vibration more). Both bats will feature X12 alloy, slightly end-loaded swing weight and a RCK knob.
Cameron
I'm 145 lbs. and strong. I hear reviews saying it's not for a freshmen. I'm looking to get one tomorrow. kev
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature an end-loaded swing weight. This type of bat will be better suited for players who are stronger physically and are more of a power hitter. The reason for this is the end-loaded swing weight can cause the top hand to drag through the zone causing slower bat speeds. This is a result due to the mass being more concentrated towards the end of the bat. On the flip side, this mass being more concentrated (slightly smaller sweet spot than a balanced swing weight bat) will help deliver more distance when a ball is squared up.
Cameron
I swung the past 2 Voodoo OVERLORDS. Is it the same end loaded feel? frank the tank
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature an end-loaded swing weight much like the previous OVERLORD models. The differences in the bats would be the alloy used (X12 in the 2016 Voodoo RAW while the Voodoo OVERLORD used X10), the connection point (D-Fuison 2.0 for 2016 model and D-Fusion 1.0 for OVERLORD) and the end caps.
Cameron
My son is 5'4" and weighs 140 lbs. What size do you recommend? clint
For a player of that height and weight, I would recommend going with the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC in the 31" 28 oz. size.
Marcus
What is the difference between the DeMarini CF8 and the DeMarini Voodoo? Bray
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features a two-piece hybrid design with a slightly end loaded swing weight. The DeMarini CF8 features a two-piece fully composite design and a balanced swing weight.
Jason
My son is 5'2'' and weighs 110 lbs. What size bat would you recommend for him? pk
Based on his height and weight, we suggest a 30" model in the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Jason
Which bat is more end loaded between the DeMarini Voodoo Raw or the Louisville Slugger 916? CP
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is going to be more end loaded compared to the Louisville Slugger Prime 916.
John
I'm looking for a bat to last me 2 - 3 years and I have swung this bat and really liked the feel. I have swung balanced bats in the past, but I like the feel of this bat. Should I purchase this bat or keep looking? I'm 5'11 & 178 pounds. bob
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend using a 33" 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC. This particular bat will feature an extended barrel design with an end loaded swing weight for power and carry.
John P.
Is this bat kinda the same as the Louisville Slugger 716? john
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a hybrid build (alloy barrel and composite handle) just like the Select 716. As well, this RAW model features an end-loaded swing weight. The 716 has a slightly end-loaded swing weight even though it is not marketed as a slightly end-loaded bat by Louisville Slugger.
Ben
I see you list the 2016 Voodoo as model DXVDC but on other sites I see a version with model WTDXVDC. What's the difference? Bmac
There are no differences between the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the WTDXVDC that you are seeing on other websites.
John P.
Is this RAW the most end loaded BBCOR bat from DeMarini? And is it as end loaded as the Easton XL BBCOR? b ball
The end load on the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo Raw BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to be similar to the end load on the 2016 Easton MAKO XL BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16MKL. Also, yes this is going to be DeMarini's most end loaded BBCOR baseball bat.
Nick
I've noticed some people say that this bat has a skinny handle. Is this because the composite handle itself is skinny or is the bat grip just not thick? Harrio
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC has a slightly thinner composite handle compared to other DeMarini models.
Angelique
I am 5'6 165 lbs. I'm a freahman in highschool. I was wondering i would be more suited to a voodoo raw 32-29 or a CF7 33-30? Dab God
Between the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC, I would base that on your swing style. If you are a power hitter, I would recommend the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, as it is an end loaded bat. The DeMarini CF7 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC would be more beneficial for a contact/gap type hitter, as that bat features a balanced swing weight. As for the bat size, I would recommend a 33" bat based on your height and weight.
Nick
My son is 5'8" and 125 lbs. what bat would be best for him Ethan
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 33" bat.
Nick
im a sophmore in highschool ive been using a cf6 32 inches i have some power but would it be a big change going to the voodoo raw being that it is slightly end loaded? colt
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature the same structure as the DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC (two-piece design). However, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features an alloy barrel, whereas the DeMarini CF6 BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXCFC features a composite barrel. The differences in material, in addition to the differences in swing weight would probably make these bats feel quite a bit different throughout the swing all the way through hitting the baseball.
Nick
would the voodoo raw be a good bat for a 14 yr old? h
I would certainly recommend the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC for a power hitter. The bat is going to feature an end loaded swing weight, which will create a "whip" like action through the zone and generate power for stronger hitters. Typically, contact and gap hitters do not like the feeling of the end load on the swing weight.
Nick
If you buy the 32' length, it comes as 29 oz. Is it really 29 oz or is there a negative number to bring that down? momtryingtofigurethisout
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, if purchased in a 32 inch model, will feature a drop of 3 making the weight of the bat 28 ounces.
Cameron
How does this bat compare to the 2015 Overlord model? matt
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, along with all previous Voodoo models, will feature an end loaded feel to it. This bat will be more stiff than the 2015 model, making it more efficient at transferring power from the bat to the ball.
Marcus
I'm deciding between the the 2016 Voodoo RAW and the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid. Which offers more durability and pop for the price? What are the main advantages of each bat? bwilde28
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDCa and the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH are both great bats to consider. Both of these bats will be two-piece bats featuring a composite handle and alloy barrel. The two bats will feature different swing weights and this is where the true distinction lies. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features an end-loaded swing weight while the 2016 Easton Z-CORE Hybrid BBCOR Baseball Bat: BB16ZH features a balanced swing weight. An end-loaded swing weight will be more beneficial for a power hitter or one who has a strong top hand as the top heavy feel can cause a longer swing. The benefit of the end-loaded swing weight is that you have more mass in a smaller sweet spot. This allows for greater whip/pendulum effect when the ball is squared up properly. Downside is that with the smaller sweet spot, if the ball is hit off-centered, there will not be as much pop as that of a balanced swing weighted bat (like the Z-CORE Hybrid; it's balanced barrel could possibly help produce greater bat speed). Durability will be the same for both bats but more pop can potentially be found with the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC.
Cameron
Is there a difference in swing weight between this bat and last year's Voodoo OVERLORD? What other differences are there? pranked
Both the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC feature a end-loaded swing weight so there really won't be a difference in these bats. These two bats are essentially the same (use X12 alloy for the barrels) and the only differences will be the connection point technology (the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC has the D-Fusion 2.0 handle technology so this will reduce more vibration when compared to the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC) and the end cap.
Cameron
What would be the difference between this bat and the VELO? Thedude
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will have a hybrid build (alloy barrel and composite handle) with an end-loaded swing weight while the VELO will be an all-alloy bat (except for composite end-cap) with a balanced swing weight.
Ben
What bat would be better, this or the VELO? Aidan May
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 are both great bats to consider. There will be some slight differences with these two bats as the 2016 Rawlings VELO BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBRV3 will be a one-piece alloy design with a balanced swing weight while the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will be a two-piece design (composite handle and alloy barrel) with an end-loaded swing weight.
Cameron

John P.

Jason
I am 5'5", 120 lbs. I have to use a -3. What size bat should I use? bobby opalewski
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend getting an option of this 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) in the 30" length. As long as you can handle the end-loaded 27 oz weight of the 30" option, I would recommend that size of this bat for you.
Ben
Besides the alloy difference, the D-Fusion handle and end cap; how does this 2016 Voodoo Raw compare to the 2014 Voodoo Paradox (WTDXVDC) from a stiffness and end-load perspective? MIke L
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) should feature a flex at contact (flex created due to stiffness in the handle) and an end-load that is similar to what was experienced in the 2014 Voodoo Paradox. Overall, if you were to barrel up a ball with either Voodoo model, the results will be fantastic!
Ben
I love the Voodoo bats, but not sure what size bat to order. I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs. What size bat should i get? DD
Based upon your height and weight, I would recommend looking at a 32" option of a BBCOR .50 baseball bat. If you feel that you can handle the end-loaded 29 oz weight of the 32" option of this 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC), I would recommend getting this bat in that size.
Ben
Can I use this in Pony League and I´m 5´11" and weigh 160 lbs. What size should I get? mikie

No, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will not feature a 30 day guarantee.
Nick
How much of a difference is there between this bat and the Demarini Voodoo OVERLORD FT 2015? will
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the OVERLORD FT are very similar bats and there is not much difference. The Voodoo Raw features a new graphical look and an upgraded D-Fusion 2.0 Handle that helps reduce vibration better than before. Otherwise the two bats are the same.
Jason
Is there supposed to be a slight bump on the barrel of the bat? matthew
Yes, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features a ring in the barrel and provides that slight bump in the barrel. It is designed to be that way, and it is really only noticeable when you run your hand up the barrel.
Jason
I just bought this bat yesterday and hit a couple rounds of BP with it. I got home and heard like little rocks or pebbles in the barrel of the bat. Is this common? Isaac
If your model of this 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) is already rattling, I would recommend reaching out to the manufacturer to set up a return to them for a warranty replacement model. Rattling bats can be withheld from games by umpires. If you ordered from JustBats, I would recommend reaching out to us at 866-321-2287 to set up the return to DeMarini through us.
Ben
My son's a Junior. As well, he is 6'3" and 235 lbs. He is swinging the new 34" VELO right now and swings it well. We are interested in the DeMarini Voodoo RAW, but I am concerned about getting a 34", because of the end load it has. Whats your suggestion? beauknows
Since your player is currently swinging a 33" model of the VELO and doing well, then I would probably just recommend getting a 33" model of this 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC). The 33" model should feature the best length and weight for him to benefit from the bat's end-loaded feel.
Ben
I am 5'6" and 190 pounds. What would be the right size of bat for me? goose

Ben
Is this a good bat for my first year of high school? bren
This 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) has BBCOR .50 certification so it will be allowed for use in High School baseball. If we have the size that you are needing and you enjoy a bat with an end-loaded swing weight, then this RAW would certainly be an option to consider.
Ben
This is a -3 bat right? jake
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature a -3 length to weight ratio.
John P.
My son is 5'11" and 135 lbs. I am thinking he is more of a contact hitter than power hitter. Do you think this would be a good bat for him? Do you think this may be too heavy? What size bat would you recommend for him? CJ'sMom
Based on your son's height and weight, we would recommend getting a BBCOR bat in a 32 inch 29 ounce model. As for the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, this bat will feature an end-loaded swing weight and is typically preferred by those hitters that are considered power hitters. The reason for this is due to the smaller sweet spot that will be more concentrated in weight towards the end of the bat (this is what causes the end-load feeling). Contact hitters typically prefer a more balanced bat, like the DeMarini CF8. Every hitter will have their own personal preferences and both bats would be good ones to consider but based on the information provided it may be a better fit to go with the DeMarini CF8.
Cameron
170 pounds,5.6 height.power hitter,good player do you think this bat (32.5 )would be a good idea?,he has 32 inches and 33 inches already?.your opinion please.thanks Eddie
Based on the player's height and weight, I would recommend swinging a 33" length. You could try the 32.5" due to the end load. However, I feel like the 33" is more ideal based on the player's size. As for the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC, I think this bat would be a great option for a power hitter. The end load may help generate some new power for the player.
Nick
my son is 14 5'6" 115 pounds, he will be going in to high school and the require a drop three bat. what size do you recomend?? nmjjaa
Based on your son's height and weight, I would recommend that he swing a 32" length. That would be a 32" 29 oz. size in the BBCOR -3 bats.

Is there a big difference between a 33/30 and a 33.5/30.5? Garrett
The only difference between the two models of the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will be the 1/2 inch in length and the 1/2 ounce in weight. Other than that, they are essentially the same exact bat.
John P.
I'm 5'10 going into my freshman year of high school. Should I get a 32 or 33 inch? 27
The best way to determine the best size bat for a player is by their height and weight. A 5'10" player is typically swinging a 32" version of the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC though. For more sizing information check out our Bat Coach: http://www.justbats.com/bat-coach/
Jason

Ben
I am 5'5" and 125 lbs and I am more of a line drive/gap. I really enjoyed the Voodoo Overlord 2014 model. Do you think this bat will produce the same results? Can you compare and contrast the two? Ben B.
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC and the DeMarini Voodoo OVERLORD BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC both have the hybrid design with an end-loaded swing weight. There will be some slight differences with the new model compared to the previous model from 2014. The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC will feature X12 alloy, low pro end cap, and D-Fusion 2.0 handle technology. Both bats are good bats but the 2016 model will reduce vibration more, have better balanced towards the end cap and the X12 alloy should give the bat better durability.
Cameron

The 2016 Louisville Slugger Select 716 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBS7163 is going to feature a three-piece design, whereas the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is going to feature a two-piece design. Lastly, the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features a full end load, while the 2016 Louisville Slugger Select 716 BBCOR Baseball Bat: BBS7163 only features a slight end load.

Cameron
Is this bat more for power hitters or contact hitters? honey badger
Given that the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC is an end loaded bat, it will better serve power hitters over contact hitters.
Marcus
Any idea why the handle feels so much thinner on the 2016 vs the 2015 model? dmoney
The actual handle on the 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat (DXVDC) will be the same thickness as the handle featured on the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD. The reason the 2016 Voodoo RAW's handle will feel thinner is because the grip tape that DeMarini applied to that bat for 2016 is thinner than the grip tape used on the 2015 Voodoo OVERLORD.
Ben
Even though I am a contact hitter with mostly singles can this bat still work for me or is it made for power hitters? Does this bat need to be broken in before use? Muggs
The 2016 DeMarini Voodoo RAW BBCOR Baseball Bat: DXVDC features an alloy barrel and end-loaded swing weight design. This bat can be used by power and contact hitters alike, although power hitters typically benefit more from an end-loaded bat. The alloy barrel means this bat will be hot out of the wrapper and will not require a break-in period.
Cameron

About the Brand

In 1992, DeMarini Sports had something to celebrate. The three-year-old company had climbed a rung on the proverbial ladder of success, moving its world headquarters from a dirt-floored barn to a slightly larger metal shack. "It was a big move for us," recalled Ray DeMarini from the batting cage of DeMarini Sport’s present-day Bat Industrial Complex. "The new shop was larger, more storm resistant, and -best of all- it had a heater."

In the early days, DeMarini Sports hardly made a blip on the radar screen of softball. With no retailers and virtually no advertising budget, DeMarini grew steadily by selling high-performance bats directly to customers. While established companies made "juiced" bats for the pros and ordinary bats for the public, DeMarini focused on making one line of high-performance bats for pros and amateurs alike. This approach, combined with a passion for the sport, led to the greatest innovation in softball history - the world’s first multi-wall bat: the DeMarini Doublewall.

Released in 1993, the DeMarini Doublewall was the world’s first multi-wall bat. Like a modern golf driver or oversized tennis racket, the Doublewall had a giant "sweetspot," which allowed average players to hit like pros. DeMarini’s sales exploded, and before long opposing bat manufacturers to notice. DeMarini - a homegrown company led by a softball fanatic - had shaken the establishment silly.

To understand the rise of the DeMarini Dynasty, you need to know Ray DeMarini. A cult hero among avid players, Ray DeMarini emerged on the professional softball scene at the age of 40, a veritable geriatric among younger players. With a scientific approach to training, a batting speed of 96 miles-per-hour and a bombastic attitude, DeMarini fast earned a reputation as a savage competitor.

In June of 1987, ESPN launched a nationwide search for a hardcore player to advise on a series of instructional softball videos. When approached by producer Erich Lytle, the biggest boys in softball repeatedly spoke of a five-foot-seven softball giant—Ray DeMarini. DeMarini had mastered reflex hitting, a technique that drops the ball squarely between the infield and outfield. Impressed with DeMarini's knowledge and scientific approach to training, Lytle not only hired Ray as an advisor—he hired him as the host. Together, they produced Ray DeMarini's Reflex Hitting System, ESPN's most successful home video to date.

Having garnered national recognition through ESPN, Ray turned his efforts toward designing a high-performance bat for the masses. To accomplish this, he needed an engineer. "Not just an engineer," he said, "but a boot-strapping rocket scientist who could build an empire with pocket change." Ray's call was answered by Mike Eggiman. Having grown up on a farm, Eggiman was adept at making the most of a situation. Case in point: the company's first piece of automated bat-making equipment had the heart of an abandoned washing machine.

With Eggiman as Chief Engineer, DeMarini Sports delivered a series of industry firsts: the first multi-wall bat (Doublewall Distance), the first high-performance bat for massive players (Fatboy) and the first high-performance youth bat (Black Coyote).

In 2000, DeMarini joined forces with Wilson Sporting Goods to develop the next generation of hitting technology. Ray believed it was a perfect fit, as both companies shared a vision of developing game-enhancing equipment for avid players. What’s more, the companies had complimentary products: Wilson was the leader in gloves, balls and protective gear, while DeMarini made the world’s finest bats. According to Chris Considine, Vice President/General Manager of Wilson Sporting Goods: "The thing that struck me most about DeMarini was their passion for sports and their true competitiveness.

Within a year, DeMarini unveiled the industry’s first concept bat, the $35,000 F1. Secured under lock and key at the DeMarini Bat Industrial Complex in Hillsboro, Oregon, the F1 served as a technological storehouse for future products, including DeMarini’s landmark Half & Half system.

In December 2001, 12 years after the genesis of DeMarini Sports, Ray DeMarini died of cancer in his Northwest Portland home. He was 55. The next summer, the Portland Metro Softball Association paid homage to the “King of Softball” with the dedication of Ray DeMarini Field. Formerly known as Delta #1, the field was DeMarini’s favorite place to test bats during the early days of business. Ray DeMarini—bat maker and player extraordinaire—was remembered for his high-performance softball bats and unwavering encouragement of everyday players. Today, a 40-foot sign announcing RAY DEMARINI FIELD graces the outfield, and an interpretive display chronicling Ray’s life greets players as they register for games.

More "Insane Dedication to Performance" is in store for tomorrow.
