Description

TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO TORQ's industry-leading swing speed, massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. Not only is the actually length of the barrel longer than most bats in fastpitch softball, but the MAKO's proprietary TCT Thermo Composite allows more of that barrel to reach its maximum flex. That's truly the definition of "sweet spot", and the MAKO offers one of the largest in the world. Bursting onto the scene last year, the CXN ZERO Technology takes this extremely balanced design to the next level. The best hitters in the game know that Confidence = Performance, and by eliminating all vibration on contact, the CXN ZERO allows hitters of all skill levels to Feel The Power! Sounds like exactly what every ballplayer is searching for, right? Well, the team at Easton has taken this design to a whole new level with the inclusion of the TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology. You might be asking - "What can TORQ Technology do for me?" - Here's the rundown:

Own The Inner Half: The TORQ Handle frees up your hands, allowing hitters to barrel-up the inside pitch and avoid the dreaded "jam sandwich".

Stay Inside The Ball: By getting your hands inside the ball, the TORQ promotes the best swing mechanics for more consistent, powerful contact.

Power To All Fields: TORQ Technology helps you keep the barrel on-plane longer through the hitting zone, so you can drive the ball with more backspin (to all parts of the yard).

The MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -10 length to weight ratio, new TORQ TAQ Performance Grip, and is Approved for Play in ASA, USSSA, NSA, ISA, and ISF. Amplify Your Power and pick up the Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 today at JustBats.com. The shipping is always free, and we're always here for you - from ClickToHit!

Great Bat SoftballFan123 parent

Pros: This bat is a tank... this is our 4th Mako.. nothing lasts longer, plus the ball comes off the bad strong making every grounder a challenge for defenses. Everyone questions the rotating handle but it really has zero effect and is not even noticed on most swing paths. The exception is the low inside pitch... the Mako allows the hitter to get to it without locking up. A huge advantage. Nothing beats the durability of a MAKO. My girls are 13 and 16 have -10, 32",33",34"

Cons: The only con about this bat is the bad rap it gets... I am glad Easton are sticking with it.

Questions and Answers

Have a question about the Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10? Ask our team of experts and they will respond within 24 hours.

I'm sorry but I'm still confused about the rotating handle; how it works and it's purpose. José
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 will feature a rotating handle (just the bottom portion that connects to the knob of the bat). The rotating handle will slightly rotate during the course of the swing; from hand path to softball and then during the follow through/finish of the swing. The main premise behind the concept of the rotating handle is to help facilitate proper swing mechanics when it comes to the hands during the course of the swing/follow through.

What is the difference between this bat and the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO? JDUB
Besides the cosmetics, the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 features the TORQ 360 Degree Rotating Handle Technology which helps players stay inside and square up more pitches while the 2016 Easton MAKO CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MK10 will not.

Is this bat strong enough to use in a men's fastpitch league? Los23
I would imagine that this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10) should be able to hold up to the demands of a men's fastpitch league. However, if it did break down in the first 12 months from the purchase date, you would be covered by the 12 month manufacturer's warranty period.
Ben
What bat length and ounce is appropriate for high school? Jeano
Here at JustBats, we base our recommendations for the length of the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 on a player's height and weight. As far as the ounce, that is hard for us to recommend as that will vary depending upon a player's personal preference, hitting style, and strength.

Umpires at my daughter's high school games saying this bat is illegal, but on the ASA website it appears to be legal. What should I do? Ed
I would recommend speaking to a league official and letting them know of the situation with this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10). There will not be a feature on this bat that will make it illegal for use in fastpitch leagues and I think the league would be willing to address that situation with umpires in the league so that the umpires are aware that the bat should be legal for use.
Ben
My daughter is a 13 year old contact hitter/switch-hitter who primarily hits lefty. She slaps and bunts and occasionally knocks the ball through the IF or a short distance into the OF. She swings a 32", 19 oz -13 Mizuno Black Widow fastpitch bat. Again, she makes good contact but has little pop when it counts. She's 4'2" and 68 lbs. Is the MAKO too much of a bat for her? Flip
I think that she will be able to swing the Easton Mako just fine if she is able to handle the extra 3 ounces as this bat is going to be a -10. If she can handle that I think that the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10) would be a great option for her.
Carter
My daughter is 14, 5'8" and 190 lbs and a power hitter. Do you think a 32/22 would work well for her? JBM8179
Based on her height and weight, I would recommend a 33" 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10.
Linsey
My daughter is 14 and 100 lbs and a singles hitter. What would be the right size bat? kim
To give an exact estimate we would need to know your daughters height too. But based on her age and weight we would most likely recommend a 32"/22oz 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10).
Carter
My daughter is 16, weighs 113 lbs and is 5'2". What bat size would you recommend? Nicki
Based on her height and weight, we suggest a 32" model in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10.
Jason
My daughter is 14 years old, 5'2" and 130 lbs. What would be a good size bat? mike
Based upon your player's height and weight, I would make a general recommendation of getting this 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10) in the 32" length as long as your player can handle the 22 oz weight of the bat.
Ben
I am 5'4" and weigh about 130 lbs. Which size bat should I get? I usually use a 33" but my bat is 22 ounces. I also choke up on my bat when I hit. Kaela 45

Jason

Kyle J.
My daughter is 5'6" and about 130 lbs. It been suggested that we look at a 34" bat. Just looking for a second opinion. Ray
Based on her height and weight we would actually recommend a 32" bat for her. I would recommend taking a look at the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10).
Carter
How do you calculate the bat size for your kid if you have the height and weight for them? coach
The bat coach gives a recommendation based on the average length used by player's of a similar height and weight. It also takes into account their league when you select the bat category, such as BBCOR, Youth BIg Barrel/Senior League, Youth, etc.
Kyle J.
My daughter is 5'2", 120 lbs. What length and drop of bat should she use? 51guy
Based on her height and weight, we would recommend getting the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 in a 32 inch model. The drop of the bat is more determined by what she is currently using and how well she is handling this weight.
Cameron
My daughter is 5'8" and weighs 160 lbs, what bat length and weight is best for her? Paige's bat
Based on your player's height and weight, I would suggest the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 in a 33" 23 ounce size.
Logan
My daughter is 13 years old, 5'9" and 160 lbs. I was thinking about moving her up to 34" with -10 drop. What size would you recommend? Sydneys_dad
Based on your daughter's height and weight, a 34'' would be the most appropriate size to get the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 in.
Tori
I am 14 on a highly competitive select team. I am 95 lbs and 5'2. I currently swing a 31/21 and am really happy with that. However, I was wondering if I would hit better with a different size bat. Also, what exactly does the handle do? Tyler
Based on your size, I would probably go with a 32" bat. It is difficult for us to determine the weight you should swing without seeing you actually swing a bat, that would be a better question to ask a coach. The bottom portion of the handle where the player's bottom hand goes on the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 rotates 360 degrees. This allows the hands to rotate freely as they naturally would throughout the swing, and it allows the player to get the barrel of the bat to the zone quicker, and leave the barrel in the zone longer.
Logan
Does this bat need to be broken in? softball mom
Yes it does, to properly break in the 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat (FP16MKT10) bat, we recommend taking 150-200 swings playing soft toss or off a tee using real baseballs. Begin swinging at 40% power and work our way up to full strength as you get closer to 200 swings.
Carter
Is this bat considered an illegal bat anywhere? JT
The 2016 Easton MAKO TORQ CXN ZERO Fastpitch Softball Bat: FP16MKT10 is a legal bat. With that said, it is impossible to know whether certain leagues may have placed this or other bats on a "banned" list.
