Description
TCT Thermo Composite Technology is the key to the MAKO XL's massive sweet spot, and pure feel on contact. This innovative material comprises both the barrel and handle which are united by Easton's patented 2-PC ConneXion Technology. By isolating the handle from the barrel with the connection joint, energy transfer is maximized while simultaneously eliminating any unwanted vibration. That foundation is then optimized for stronger / advanced hitters with a perfectly-powerful end loaded swing weight.
The MAKO XL Youth features a 2 1/4" barrel diameter, -10 length to weight ratio, new HYPERSKIN Performance Grip, and is Approved for Play in Little League, Babe Ruth, Dixie, Pony, AABC and USSSA. Pros: Unreal didn't get the bat yet, but could see my son driving it over the wall
Cons: none
Pros: bat has has much or more of the pop of the orange Mako 3rd Mako in the family and they just out perform the competition season after season .
Cons: price
Pros: Amazingly awesome all around! The bat really has a lot of pop! love the new hyperskin grip on the bat! Just all around the best bat of all!!!!!
Cons: None
Pros: Bat looks ugly online but in person it's amazing tct thermo composite is the same as 2014 mako but barrel is huge love this bat
Cons: Price and fingerprints stick out
Pros: Bat seems so much better than 2015 mako xl. I honestly think easton had a bad run with 2015 bats. I know several people who feel same way. The 2016 mako xl 30/20 is a sweet bat with great pop.
Cons: Absolutely none
Pros: Zero vibration a great fell and massive pop I am 4-4 60 pounds but I can swing this bat just find. My friends love it, I love and over all, it's the best bat I ever had.
Cons: nothing but a little pricey.
Pros: great feel for it I love it the ball fly even when you hit it in the wrong spot because the bare; is like 9 inches long and I already hit 5 home runs and i have had it for 9 days
Cons: price and easily chipped
Pros: Huge sweet spot, great grip and balance, major pop. My seven year old played a seven game fall season and went 21 for 24, 16 hard hit legitimate off the fence doubles and 3 home runs over the fence 150' with one taping 185'. The thing is unreal. He is a 105lb and tall 7 year old but the smaller kids using the -11 and -12 Mako's are killing it too. Get one!
Cons: Pricey but worth it
Pros: Lots of pop
Cons: not good durability
Pros: the bat is just plain awesome lots of pop.
Cons: so far the decals are the only issue they seem to Crack easy we have less than 100 hits on the bat and they are spider cracking.
Pros: If you are looking for a bat with lots of Pop this bat is hard to beat. Keep in mind it should only be swung by larger, stronger players. I believe the 2016 is comparable to last years "orange" XL, however does not compare to the monster crushing 2013 XL1 or Omen (believe me). Still, maybe aside from the new COMbat Maxum, the best hero maker out there.
Cons: I am listing a Con, just for GP, otherwise this or the COMbat Maxum are the two best bats for youths on the market. Again, does not have the pop of the 2013 "yellow " XL1, however if your kid can hit, he will love this bat. If your kid is a contact hitter, I cannot stress enough to instead buy the COMbat Maxum as it will deliver both consistent line drives and power if you buy the -10 (they are also one -piece bats.
Pros: Great pop off the bat. Very good quality.
Cons: My son loves this bat but it is not legal for intermediate little league because of the composite. Still looking for a alluminum bat that compares - grip not so good - go with a aftermarket
Pros: great feel great pop
Cons: none
Pros: I'm facing some pitchers throwing 70+ and i can get around on all of them. I'm 12 and my longest hit with it is probably around 315 ft. So much pop, and even when I don't barrel up with ball i can get it out of the park with this bat. Large barrel to be allowed in little league, and most of my team has this bat. i use it for travel and i can get it out of the park, easily at that. I've been using this bat for a couple months now and its been reliable, like the 2014 model of this bat i had before it.
Cons: Grip is good feeling, but rips easily. But that may be because i hit 5 buckets off a tee every day.
Pros: my team got these and 4 people have hit nice homers
Cons: little expensive
Pros: looks good, feels good bas good pop
Cons: if your son has tons of power, this bat will not last. have had 4 in 2 years and they are garbage. Never use them in bp. 2014,2015 and 2016 all broke
Pros: The bat has a much longer barrel and sweet spot than the S1. (the drop 12 version that is yellow, orange, or this year green). My son was hitting will with the S1 and in his first game with this bat hit the ball 170 feet. He is 9 years old with above average height and strength. Major difference if you player has the strength to get the bat head around.
Cons: Lizard Skin grip is required so go ahead and spend the $12 bucks. It also is not for a kid that does not have above average upper body strength. If your player is not as strong get the -12 or -11 version of this bat. The orange and yellow ones are just as good and can be found for less money.
Pros: Ball goes a long way/
Cons: If your kid can swing a bat, it will break. I am on my 5th one. The one I just bought broke today on the 8th Ball he hit with it. the one before that, broke the first hit of the season. I sent one back to Easton on Thursday, now I have to send this one out on Monday after I call them.
Pros: GREAT overall bat. My son is 12, he is relatively tall at 5'8" and about 130 pounds. We broke this bat in as recommended. He had taken 3 years off from baseball. After getting some reps in this bat has performed flawlessly. He has hit the ball hard on several occasions with a few monster shots near 300 feet. He has a decent swing, but this bat makes a solid swing a possible shot out of the park. Great investment!!
Cons: It does scuff up, but a wash down makes it look fine.
Pros: Balance, thin handle.
Cons: none
Pros: My first at bat with this beast I hit a HR to straight away center. The ball came pf the bat so well and felt great. Ever sonce then I have been hitting the ball to and over the fence almost every at bat. Great bat!
Cons: $$$
Pros: Bat is BBCOR approved, non-composite. Good bat for 13U -14U player
Cons: Our team purchased 6 of these bats during a demo. 5 of the 6 bats have had to be returned due to the cap busting off the top of the bat. All broke the same way. I have to question the quality if all of the same type of bat had the same problems.
Pros: My 10-year-old son loves his new bat! Hit a home run with it before it was even fully broken in. He's a big kid (almost 5' tall, 95 pounds) so I got him the 30" 20oz. Now his older brother is eyeing it.
Cons: Only con is the high price
Pros: Don't know used it one at bat and bat cracked
Cons: POORLY MADE!!!! HIGH COST!!! Not the 1st Easton bat my son cracked this season
Pros: great all around bat. Awesome pop. Doesn't get much better than this.
Cons: My bat just cracked after a year, so watch out for that.
Pros: This bat has an amazing sweet spot once broke in.
Cons: Once broke in bat will crack! Our All Stars have cracked everyone! They are different than orange
Pros: Unvelievable pop! truly hits rockets.
Cons: Horrible durability. i coach a 12 U travel team, and at least 6 of my boys bought yhis bat. EVERY ONE of them has returned this bat at least once. my son alone has had 3 ( yes I said 3) REPLACEMENT bats. my son has been without this bat almost as much as he has had it with having to ship the defective bats back.
Pros: good pop. pretty hot out of wrapper.
Cons: Have bought 3 different mako models this year and two of them didnt last more than 4 weeks.
Pros: this bat comes out of the box ready to play. I used a 2013 Easton S2 last year for 12u and this bat greatly surpassed it. its an amazing bat for power hitters cause i hit my first through 15th home run this year. Get it!
Cons: bat grip gets a little worn after a few months but is easily replaced by an Easton Hyperskin grip
Pros: I love this bat because it has a lot of pop and it's really good for any type of player. I started using this bat in my 11u season. I was about 4' 10" and around 70 pounds. I started off the season using the 2015 Mako XL and was doing so-so. As soon as I started using the 2016 model I took off. In my first game with it I hit my first homerun and continued to hit two more. My batting average jumped up and ended the season with a .400 BA. I absolutely love this bat.
Cons: Durability is in question
Pros: best bat ever tons of pop end loaded quick hands breaks in quick
Cons: bat died out in 3 months, but i had warranty
Pros: tons of pop great feel
Cons: durability is horrible. i am an elite travel ball player and i had this bat for 3 months before it cracked. this is my second mako xl, because the previous one also cracked.
Pros: Great Pop.
Cons: My son is on his third bat and this one now has cracked. We had batting practice today and this brand new replacement bat cracked after 50 hits. The other two at least made it through a month of practices before they cracked. and Yes, he is the only one hitting with it. They are not team bats. This the third exact bat that has cracked. This is the worst composite bat Easton has made to date. I am moving my son to DeMarini.
